FINALLY, AN ACTUAL FGM CONVICTION

By Pete Moore On March 8th, 2019

A 37-year-old mother has been jailed after becoming the first person in the UK to be convicted of female genital mutilation (FGM).

The Ugandan woman mutilated her three-year-old daughter at their family home in east London in 2017.

She was jailed for 11 years for the FGM and a further two years for indecent images and extreme pornography.

It’s probably too much to hope that she’s deported when released. Don’t want to be too beastly to the immigrants. Walthamstow – where this happened – was alright when I grew up there. Now it’s a right little shop of Third World horrors. But at least we have an actual conviction for FGM after goodness knows how many thousands of girls have been mutilated.

  1. 11 years in pokey won’t stop them.

    It’s their culture..innit.

  2. Why did this African get jailed for 11 years for practising their African barbaric stone age FGM voodoo.

We either live in a multicultural society, or we don’t?

    Which is it?

  3. This is good news and hopefully will set a precedent for opening the floodgates to many convictions for this disgusting practice.

Hopefully non medical ritual infant circumcision in next on the list.

  4. But, but, but..

    Its their culture..innit?

So, do we live in a multicultural society..or not?

  5. Hopefully non medical ritual infant circumcision in next on the list.

Ah, its back to the Jooos then?

  6. No, it’s about genital mutilation

I’ve heard it said that you have ‘Jewish heritage?’

  7. I have.

And no my bits are all intact..thanks.

Thankfully my parents weren’t religious nuts.

So, if we live in a multicultural society, why can’t different cultures practice their culture?

Do we live in a multicultural society, or not?

    Its not a difficult question.

  8. Jewish heritage?

And let me just make this clear, if some religious nutjob wanted to carry out circumsition on my crown jewels.

It would be a major operation..

Even this invisible man in the sky, and all the mass waste of time praying in world couldn’t help them.

I know, no praise like self praise…

    😁

I’m just such a bad Joooo.

  9. Harri,

And let me just make this clear, if some religious nutjob wanted to carry out circumsition on my crown jewels.

It would be a major operation..

Would that be because they’d have to move surgical microscopes into the theatre? 😁

  10. So, if we live in a multicultural society, why can’t different cultures practice their culture?

Do we live in a multicultural society, or not?

Living in both Ireland and Spain I can’t answer that question. I lived in London in the eighties and found it more multi ethnic than multi cultural.

It’s okay Harri, you can now get apoplectic about non medical ritual infant circumcision too:

  11. Would that be because they’d have to move surgical microscopes into the theatre? 😁

    Dave.

    Two things..ironically.

    a) my wife works as a theatre nurse, and b) there is a very valid reason, apart from the rugged good looks, sense of humour, and full set of shiny white teeth and bronzed body my wife is 20 years younger than me..?

And she has exceptionally small hands, and is only four feet eleven inches tall.

    And blonde.

    😁

  12. Living in both Ireland and Spain I can’t answer that question. I lived in London in the eighties and found it more multi ethnic than multi cultural.

    Wow!

And its only btaken me..well years

So, we don’t actually live in some wonderful liberal progressive multicultural society after all?

What we actually live in, is a multi ethnic society?

    I told you so.

  13. So, we don’t actually live in some wonderful liberal progressive multicultural society after all?

    I don’t anyway.

What did you tell us so?

  14. What did you tell us so?

    ?

I told you, this “multicultural society” was utter bullshit.

    And you apparently agree?

What we actually live in, is a multiethnic society.

You liberals are just so fickle.

    😏

  15. Harri

my wife works as a theatre nurse,

Fair play to her. A commendable job.

And she has exceptionally small hands,

So anything she holds in them would look massive. Now I understand. 😉

  16. That ‘you’ in ‘told you so’ may be the plural pronoun but don’t include me in it.

I’ve never lived in a ‘multicultural society’ and have never claimed to.

  17. Fair comment Paul

I will hold you to that thought.

    Dave.

    You got it..

    😁

  18. Do. I’ve never claimed anything of the sort.

  19. Paul

    After many years of battle.

    We actually agree on something.

    I will settle for that.

    😏

  20. That’ll do me too then 😉

  21. “It’s too much to hope…”? Hah, at this stage it’s too much to hope that the news article is anything other than totally made up, pure fiction! Deported…I almost split my appendix.

  22. So the Police finally gave up looking for an Icelandic blue eyed blonde to convict under this law.

  23. Dog and Brex.

    Typical ignorant bigots.

  24. I’m surprised she got 11 years for FGM. Some people don’t even get that for murder in the UK these days.

  25. Colm, from what I’ve read on here you seem to be the resident juvenile, whose only manner of response to any debate on here is to crack a bad “Carry On film – style” smutty joke. So take your stupid, puerile comment of 08/03 22:39 and stick it where Kenneth Willams’ sun shone out of. You think I’m a bigot for not wanting my country to be afflicted with this backward shite? You think it a laughing matter? Shame on you. Go back to playschool, little leftie boy, and pray that you don’t live to see how Islam will treat you once it’s in control.

    Precisely Dave.

  27. Brex

I’m glad I got under your skin, with the added bonus that you clearly didn’t understand why I called you a bigot. But here’s a clue. It was nothing to do with your opposition to FGM or Islam.

  28. Alright, Colm, that’s interesting and honest of you. I referenced nothing else apart from FGM in my initial comment above, so clearly you think I’m a bigot based on something I wrote elsewhere. Let me think.
    Opposition to the EU?
Opposition to abortion? (Here’s a point: yes I am opposed to it, yet that doesn’t mean that I hate, or pass judgement on women who’ve had one. And I think that the same applies to any lifestyle or action that I’m opposed to in principle).
Opposition to socialism in general, preference for the free market?
Broad support for ‘Tommy Robinson’ (while not agreeing with everything he says or even liking the man personally)?
Broad support for Trump? (that one gets all the libs enraged)?
No, somehow it’s not any of those things.
Aha, got it, I think. I made a rather sarcy comment expressing my utmost disgust at compulsory sex-ed for primary school children recently, particularly about giving acceptance and normality to what I perceive as warped, abnormal lifestyles. And I stand by that. I actually agree totally with the Muslim protesters on that one.
Now when someone calls you a “bigot” it’s usually because you’ve got under THEIR skin on such a thorny issue, and so I’m going to take a wild guess and say that perhaps you identify within one of those groups? Just a guess, I could be wrong and I do respect your privacy so there’s no need to answer me.
But if you want to, we can have a conversation about it. First step, if I’m wrong above, then tell me what I said that makes you think me a bigot, and I’ll have a think about it and get back to you later and we’ll see if we can have any sort of understanding, or learn anything from each other. How does that sound?

  29. Brex

    Ok I will explain.
Nothing to do with any of those opinions , but I will concede my ‘typical ignorant bigots’ comment was too strong and I withdraw it. It was however based not on any views you might hold on any issue but purely on your comment about the story not being true. It’s fine to complain about society being too liberal and weak in dealing with FGM practises by certain cultures but then to dismiss a factual news item about an example of a a genuinely tough judicial response as a “ made up story” shows an unwillingness to accept any evidence contrary to your viewpoint and it is that rigidness which whether expressed from the Right or the Left of the political spectrum is really what bigotry means.

  30. Thank you for your reasoned answer, Colm, and I also humbly withdraw my remarks to you of 22:54 the other day, never calling it to mind again.

  31. Fair enough Brex. But both of us better not withdraw too much or we’ll dissapear out of view 😉
    Cheers !
