RADICAL ISLAM MARKS Easter Sunday

By David Vance On April 22nd, 2019

Easter Sunday is the most special day in the Christian calendar. It marks the day when Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the fulfilment of the promise God made to his people.

Around the world, Christians gather in large numbers to worship and give thanks for the sacrifice made for them by Christ.

They gathered in Sri Lanka today – and news reports now confirm that at least 207 of them have been killed and 625 injured, some severely, in explosions at churches and hotels.

Eight blasts were reported, including at three churches in Negombo, Batticaloa and Colombo’s Kochchikade district during Easter services. The Shangri-La, Kingsbury and Cinnamon Grand luxury hotels, all in the capital, were also targeted.

The carnage is almost beyond words.

St Sebastian’s church in Negombo was severely damaged in one explosion, with dozens killed at the site. Images from inside showed blood on the pews and the building’s ceiling shattered.

There were also heavy casualties at the site of the first blast in St Anthony’s, a hugely popular shrine in Kochchikade, a district of Colombo.

Whilst many of those slaughtered were Sri Lankan nationals, many other Nationalities are amongst the dead.

At least five British people – including two with joint US citizenship – are believed to be among the dead. The US State Department says “several” Americans have been killed. Three Danish citizens and two Turkish nationals were also killed, their governments have confirmed. Netherlands Foreign Minister Stef Blok said in a statement that one Dutch national has also died. Reports say three Indian nationals and one Portuguese citizen have also been killed, with more foreign nationals still to be identified.

The media seem curiously reluctant to name the culprits. Which group, we wonder, might single out this gathering of Christians for intended carnage? What sort of people HATE Christians with such maniacal and murderous intent?

Well, whilst the BBC and others remain tight-lipped, the facts are emerging pretty quickly.

It is reported in Sri Lanka that the terrorist behind at least one of the bombings was an Islamist Extremist Imam and preacher by the name of Moulvi Zahran Hashim

Hashim has been active on Youtube pushing hatred and intolerance and yet for some reason, whilst Youtube bans Tommy Robinson, it did not ban Hashim.

Another of the terrorists was identified as Abu Mohammed.

It is further reported that the problem of the Islamic State has been rampant in Sri Lanka since 2016. Back then, the Sri Lankan Parliament was told that 32 Muslims from elite families had joined ISIS. The following year, scores of Sri Lankan ISIS terrorists returned from Syria, following which there was a spike in Jihadi activity. This appears to have culminated in today’s atrocities. This was Jihad.

Further details will emerge in the time ahead but the fact is that militant Muslims chose this, the most sacred day in the Christian calendar, to slaughter Christian worshippers. Had this been the slaughter of Muslims in Mosques by Christians, the media and political class would have ablaze with fury and judgement. Yet today the same media and political class instinctively shy away from asking tough questions concerning why these Muslims want to kill Christians. The hypocrisy is almost as deafening as the killings have been barbaric.

There is no excuse for terrorism from any source. Killing innocent people as they go about their worship is obscene. Just as the killing of 50 Muslims in Christchurch, New Zealand, was utterly repugnant, so is this mass co-ordinated slaughter in Sri Lanka. The difference, of course, is that the former was the result of one deranged individual whereas what we witness in Sri Lanka today are multiple attacks carried out by a global radical Islamist group

You cannot defeat the enemy unless you name it. That name is Radical Islam.

  1. Good post

I listed to LBC yesterday for a bit, and while in my hearing, they mentioned the suspected group, but did not say ” Islamic terror ” or anything like that.

Hashim has been active on Youtube pushing hatred and intolerance and yet for some reason, whilst Youtube bans Tommy Robinson, it did not ban Hashim.

If Hashim has been doing this for a time without being banned, youtube ( google ) deserves condemnation.

GW Bush and Obama sent hellfire missiles at some of these guys for a very good reason.

LBC, British political talk radio, pretty interesting at times.

    Easily accessed by computer.

  3. Compare, contrast, & consider the MSM reporting & Muslim Community reaction in regard to

    a) Atrocity in Christchurch

    b) Atrocity in Sri Lanka

  4. The Sri Lanka atrocity is getting immense coverage in NYT AND WP

    Don’t know about TV

  5. Do we get a different BBC news channel in the ROI?

They’ve been calling it an attack by Islamic militants all afternoon (at least). *sigh* but, let’s not let reality get in the way of a juicy story.

Why do you often post in duplicate?

Well, whilst the BBC and others remain tight-lipped, the facts are emerging pretty quickly.

Eh? It must indeed be a different BBC as smcgiff says above:

A previously little-known group called the National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) is being accused of having carried out the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka

  9. The site software sometimes posts twice, just because.

  10. New Yorker,

I’m so good the system posts me twice. 🙂 ( this is guaranteed to only post once, “innit”).

  11. (((Somebody))) is attempting to get muslims and post-Christians at each others’ throats, by getting the muzz into Europe, north America and Australasia – and by sending western military into dar-al-islam to cause as much mayhem as possible.

    https://www.sott.net/article/411378-Chief-engineer-of-Notre-Dame-That-fires-flames-needed-an-accelerant-to-reach-and-burn-the-churchs-ancient-oak-beams

French media reports citing an interview with the former French Inspector-General for Historic Monuments Benjamin Mouton, who oversaw the installation of state-of-the-art fire prevention systems in the Notre Dame Cathedral in 2010, and who was responsible for the building from 2000 to 2013, cast doubt on today’s leak to the Associated Press that the fire was likely caused by an electrical short-circuit.

Benjamin Mouton was interviewed live on TV on Monday evening as the fire continued to burn the 850-year-old symbol of French culture and history. Here’s what he had to say:

“I don’t understand this at all. The fire’s spread is extremely curious. With really old oak like that, it’s super-hard, so you’d need a lot of smaller wood to first get the fire hot enough for the oak beams to burn.

In 2010 we replaced all the electrical wiring, so there’s no way this was sparked by a short-circuit. We put new wiring in place according to modern standards. And we went even further; we installed state-of-the-art fire protection and detection systems in the cathedral.

At all times, there are always two men on standby in the Cathedral, day and night, to go investigate anything the moment an alarm goes off, then if necessary to call the fire emergency services.

I am really stunned that this [the fire] has happened. It’s incomprehensible.”

What were your feelings when you heard the news?

I thought it was sad but beautiful. It was an important lesson: Nothing lasts forever –– everything comes to an end. We’re watching the beginning of a new modernity; religion and the Church don’t have the same influence they did before, and it’s always a good thing when white men lose their power.

As usual Allan I have no idea what you’re going on about. Anybody else got any idea?

  14. Allan

I don’t recall you or anyone else quoting from sott.net before

Are you familiar with the site itself? Is anyone else familiar with it?

  15. I must have missed the contemporaneous post here (other than my own) condeming the New Zealand shootings. In any event the media have covered the Sri Lanka killings prominently and reported the known facts as they developed as far as I have seen. Radical Isamists groups remain a clear danger whatever name they call themselves.

  16. the only complaint I have about the coverage is the repeated phrase. “Easter Worshipers”.

It was an attack on Christians… Catholics not “Easter Worshipers”.

  17. Well the point was that it was targeted on the Easter holiday for maximum attendance and publicity. Anyone who thinks Easter Worshipers were anything but Christians is probably not among our brightest.

Dat’s Reich: I opened it, read it, checked the embedded links, and saw that it was true. Here are the embedded links…….

For the TV interview, you would have to go into the link and click on the embedded video – dare you do that?

    The transcript is correct……

“I don’t understand this at all. The fire’s spread is extremely curious. With really old oak like that, it’s super-hard, so you’d need a lot of smaller wood to first get the fire hot enough for the oak beams to burn.

That’s not all. Mouton told French construction magazine BatiActu the following:

“In 40 years of experience, I have never heard of a fire like this.

It would take a really combustible load at the start of such a fire for it to rapidly develop into the disaster we saw. Also, oak is a particularly fire-resistant wood.

The fire detection/protection system installed in the cathedral was of the highest level. It was a very expensive undertaking, but it enabled us to quickly ascertain whether a fire had started somewhere. Additionally, we had many old wooden doors replaced by fire-doors.

We also drastically reduced the number of electrical appliances throughout the building, and completely forbid them in the attic.”

Take this text to your translator……

Had you ever heard of BatiActu before? Me neither, but if it’s short for Batiment Actuel that makes it the trade journal of construction in France. But hey – you’ve never heard of it before, so what does BatiActu matter in the world of permanent ignorance. Put another way, I have no credentials that would qualify me as a proctolgist, but I recognise an arsehole when I’m dealing with one.

  22. I see that another Notre Dame has been set on fire – but none of these Church-burnings in France are related: there are people stupid enough to believe that 🙁

    https://www.breitbart.com/faith/2019/04/23/another-french-church-burns-on-easter-sunday-probable-arson/

Police have confirmed that a fire in the French church of Notre-Dame de Grâce on Easter Sunday appears to have been intentionally set, making it the latest in a string of desecrations of Christian churches in the country.

The fire was started in a large, wooden confessional around 4:30pm and proceeded to consume a dais in the presbytery of the eighteenth-century church located in the southern French town of Eyguières, near Provence.

“Flames several meters high were coming out of the church,” said the mayor of Eyguières, Henri Pons, before a team of 30 firefighters with six vehicles arrived and managed to contain the blaze.

Where was Dave the Pyromanic Grinder?

  23. Who would burn Churches? There must surely be some pointers…..

Israeli Settlers Burn Church in Jerusalem
October 30, 2010 6:41 PM IMEMC News Holy sites, Jerusalem, News Report 0

A hundred year old church was burned, Friday, by right-wing Israeli settlers, who broke a number of windows of the church and hurled Molotov cocktails inside. The damage to the church was substantial, with burning throughout the first floor of the building.

In 2006, an Israeli couple tried to firebomb an ancient church in Nazareth, the city where Chrisitians believe that Jesus Christ lived 2,000 years ago. An Israeli court which tried the case failed to convict the couple of any charges.

And yet, in Syria and Iran – both countries excoriated by the jew-owned US-establishment, there are no attacks on Christians. But in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, two of the US’s ‘allies’, Christians are suppressed, and attacked and murdered regularly.
