THE CLIMATE CRISES IS REAL

By Pete Moore On June 12th, 2019

It’s the middle of June, the rain is incessant and it’s freezing cold. The heating’s been on in the motor, I’m sitting here in a wool shirt and fleece socks, and if it gets any colder the central heating’s going back on. The winter duvet hasn’t been taken back out of storage, because it hasn’t been put in storage.

Oh, and government ministers are climbing over each other with pledges to make the UK “carbon neutral”.

These people are mad.

  1. The only carbon I would like to see the back of are the life forms that are made of it in The Palace of Westminster.

  2. These people are mad.

    Yawn.

“Summer ice is melting at a faster rate in the Antarctic Peninsula than at any time in the past 1000 years, new research shows. The evidence comes from a 364-metre ice core containing a record of freezing and melting over the previous millennium.”
    https://www.weatherwatch.co.nz/content/antarctic-ice-melt-accelerates

“A new study of permafrost has found that the ice wedges forming the prevalent honeycomb pattern across the tundra appear to be melting rapidly across the Arctic, changing the hydrology of the region and accelerating the release of greenhouse gases with major implications for global warming.”
    https://www.lanl.gov/museum/news/newsletter/2016-04/Rapid%20ice-wedge%20melting%20accelerates%20permafrost%20decline.php

  3. “For a climate change scenario closer to business as usual – where our current trajectory for economic growth continues and global temperatures increase by 5℃ – the outlook is even more bleak. The experts’ best estimate average in this case is 51cm of sea level rise caused by melting ice sheets by 2100, but with a 5% chance that global sea level rise could exceed two metres by 2100. That has the potential to displace some 200m people.

Let’s try and put this into context. The Syrian refugee crisis is estimated to have caused about a million people to migrate to Europe. This occurred over years rather than a century, giving much less time for countries to adjust. Still, sea level rise driven by migration of this size might threaten the existence of nation states and result in unimaginable stress on resources and space. There is time to change course, but not much, and the longer we delay the harder it gets, the bigger the mountain we have to climb.”

    https://skepticalscience.com/SLR-could-displace-millions.html

  4. “Last week, the Scripps Institution of Oceanography reported that carbon dioxide levels in the air leapt this year by the second highest amount in their records, to 414.8 parts per million, at the famous observatory in Mauna Loa where CO2 has been measured continuously since 1958.

We cannot afford many more years like this. Every year of high emissions adds to the stock of carbon in the air, bringing us closer to the 450ppm of carbon dioxide that scientists warn could tip us into catastrophe. The IPCC’s stark warnings last year showed how dangerous a rise of 1.5C would be, and on current terms we are headed for an even bigger rise…

The UK government’s independent statutory advisers, the Committee on Climate Change, recently set out proposals for a net-zero carbon target for 2050, saying it was needed to stay within 1.5C. Those plans came under fire from the chancellor, Philip Hammond, who warned in a letter to Theresa May that it would cost £1tn. That sounds a lot. But what Hammond failed to say was that it represents less than six months of GDP in the next three decades – in other words, we would arrive at the same level of national wealth just six months later if we choose to safeguard the planet than if we choose to ignore science.”

  5. carbon dioxide is not a pollutant, it’s needed by plants to feed them and they in return give us the oxygen we breath.

There is nothing man can do to increase or decrease the planets temperature.

  6. The Syrian refugee crisis is estimated to have caused about a million people to migrate to Europe.

That extra million from Congo, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Morocco and even Syria, who were fleeing conflict in Syria contributes to Europe’s energy consumption by btheir very presence. When Abdul is in Morocco or when Ntumbu is in Sierra Leone, their energy consumption is minimal as they have no electricity. When they arrive in Germany, their energy consumption goes through the roof. Police cars, detention centres, trials etc all consume energy and these invaders are a cause of it..

Anyway, we have more good news as Italy takes measures to reduce European energy consumption and to punish those who create the problem…….

    https://dailystormer.name/italy-15000-scum-working-at-invader-centers-to-lose-their-jobs-thanks-to-salvinis-cuts/

    Breitbart:

Following a series of budgetary cuts as part of populist Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini’s security and migration decree, migrant helper associations claim they have been forced to lay off thousands of employees.

The Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL) union announced the complaint, saying that so far pro-migrant groups have been forced to lay off around 5,000 workers due to the funding cuts in the security decree and added that the social centres were looking at a total of 15,000 layoffs by the end of the year, Italian newspaper Il Giornale reports.

Unbelievably, the Italian state has been financing the 3rd-world invasion of Italy, but it is the paragraph below that tells much about the leftist scum who drive it….

The announcement of mass layoffs in the pro-migrant reception sector come only months after the left-wing groups complained that their profits were going to decline as a result of the security decree.

They are absolute, utter vermin and should be jailed.

Never forget that all these insane things that Shlomo tells us are inevitable, unstoppable and irreversible can actually be fixed very fast by a government that actually wants to do it.

    https://dailystormer.name/italy-german-slut-boat-captain-faces-up-to-20-years-in-prison-for-rescuing-migrants/

    Daily Mail:

A German boat captain faces ‘up to 20 years in prison and horrendous fines’ for her part in saving migrants in danger of drowning after failed attempts to enter Europe through the Mediterranean.

Pia Klemp, a 35-year-old Bonn native, is thought to have been personally responsible for up to 1,000 rescue missions, according to some reports.

A thousand rescues?? That takes a lot of financing……

    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-07-16/soros-sponsored-immigration-network-exposed-italy

Now Italy is preparing the perps for well-deserved jail-time though I believe that they should be flown to Nigeria and simply set loose.

  7. carbon dioxide is not a pollutant

Nobody is saying it is. But it is a greenhouse gas, that’s the problem.

  8. nope…… water vapor is the number one greenhouse gas….. regulate that.

  9. Water vapour is a multiplier of greenhouse gases, not a cause of it. As more greenhouse gases are emitted the planet heats up, causing more water vapour to go into the atmosphere. It then has a multiplying effect.

    https://skepticalscience.com/water-vapor-greenhouse-gas.htm

  10. voodoo science….

  11. No actual science. Just because it is inconvenient for you doesn’t mean it isn’t true. You, and those like you, are the modern day equivalent of Pope Urban VIII. Afraid of the implications of what science is saying so you deny that it is true. He was wrong then. You are wrong now.

  12. no what’s inconvenient is the math doesn’t add up….

The “scientists” were caught cheating fudging the numbers, the computer models have never given the same answers twice.

If you can’t prove it mathematically or by using the scientific method neither of which “climate science” an do…… well then it ain’t science.

    It’s a religion.

  13. I think it’s called cognitive dissonance syndrome. The more evidence there is for man made global warming, the more determined the deniers are to deny it. If the Greenland ice-cap melted overnight they would claim it was due to “natural variability” as they waited to be rescued from their flooded city.

  14. “The “scientists” were caught cheating fudging the numbers, the computer models have never given the same answers twice.”

You keep saying that. It isn’t true. You have provided no evidence for it and it has been shown to be false repeatedly. Climate change models have been pretty good at predicting long term climate change.

    https://skepticalscience.com/climate-models.htm

  15. In fact it now appears that the models have been too conservative in that they have underestimated the co-relation between increasing CO2 levels and rising temperatures. If this is correct it means we have even less time to act decisively:

“A comparison of past IPCC predictions against 22 years of weather data and the latest climate science find that the IPCC has consistently underplayed the intensity of global warming in each of its four major reports released since 1990.

The drastic decline of summer Arctic sea ice is one recent example: In the 2007 report, the IPCC concluded the Arctic would not lose its summer ice before 2070 at the earliest. But the ice pack has shrunk far faster than any scenario scientists felt policymakers should consider; now researchers say the region could see ice-free summers within 20 years.”

    https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/climate-science-predictions-prove-too-conservative/

  16. But the ludicrous schmuck Mike Pompeo thinks it’s great news that the Arctic melt is accelerating:

“Secretary of State Mike Pompeo appeared at the Arctic Council Ministerial Meeting in Finland to discuss the United States’ commitment to the Arctic region. While much of the secretary’s speech addressed the growing threats of Russia and China in the region, he also called the Arctic’s melting ice caps “new opportunities for trade”—despite warnings from scientists that the shrinkage is caused by climate change and could become irreversible.

“Steady reductions in sea ice are opening new passageways and new opportunities for trade,” Pompeo told the room. “This could potentially slash the time it takes to travel between Asia and the West by as much as 20 days. Arctic sea lanes could come before—could come [sic] the 21s century Suez and Panama Canals.”

Last week, The Washington Post reported that the Trump administration sought to remove references to climate change from the Arctic Council’s declaration signed by all eight Arctic nations. When asked by ABC on Sunday how he would rank climate change on a list of national security threats, Pompeo said the issue did not qualify.

    https://observer.com/2019/05/mike-pompeo-arctic-climate-change-trade-opportunities/

  17. And I had thought that Pompeo was smart.

He here seems the smirking Trumper smart aleck

  18. Would anything I post convince you that the information you’re being fed is not based in science…. I don’t think so.

If you could get the math to work I would agree it’s worth looking at, any hypothesis that does not make testable predictions is simply not science…… that is the undeniable TRUTH of science.

Climatology as a science does not exist…. A scientific theory to unravel and understand why something works as a system requires that you know all the variables and the math that demonstrates how that system works has to give you the same answers every time.

No one knows all the variables, that’s why the math doesn’t work. It is beyond our ability at this time. We are not eve a level one society. When we reach that level we will understand and be able to make adjustments to the planets climate, but until then it’s just bullshit and the politics of control.

The Kardashev scale is a method of measuring a civilization’s level of technological advancement based on the amount of energy a civilization is able to use. It was proposed by Soviet astronomer Nikolai Kardashev in 1964.[1] The scale has three designated categories:

A Type I civilization—also called a planetary civilization—can use and store all of the energy available on its planet.
A Type II civilization—also called a stellar civilization—can harness the total energy of its planet’s parent star (the most popular hypothetical concept being the Dyson sphere—a device which would encompass the entire star and transfer its energy to the planet(s)).
A Type III civilization—also called a galactic civilization—can control energy at the scale of its entire host galaxy.[2]

At the current time, humanity has not yet reached Type 1.

  19. Most scientists don’t agree with you guys on this one

So who is the blind follower of ” religion ” now.

  20. “Would anything I post convince you that the information you’re being fed is not based in science…. I don’t think so.”

Would anything you post actually be true?

“If you could get the math to work I would agree it’s worth looking at, any hypothesis that does not make testable predictions is simply not science…… that is the undeniable TRUTH of science.”

And the climate change models have been pretty good at predicting long term climate change. The mathematics work.

  21. My religion is Christianity.

Science is the mathematical proof of how God made things work.

They don’t have the math, so they don’t have the science to back up their claims.

  22. Patrick

Who in your learned mind would be the most knowledgeable scientists on the subject of climate

  23. Is it possible to have any knowledge on the subject of climate

And if so who has that knowledge

  24. And the climate change models have been pretty good at predicting long term climate change. The mathematics work.

hat’s a bold face lie…….. please provide links to an accurate model…..

Seamus in science you don’t do “Pretty Good” you nail it 100% of the time on EVERY DETAIL.

That’s how we split the Atom which was the first baby step of figuring things out.

  25. “hat’s a bold face lie…….. please provide links to an accurate model…..

Seamus in science you don’t do “Pretty Good” you nail it 100% of the time on EVERY DETAIL.”

Nonsense. Margin of error exists in quite a large number of things.

“hat’s a bold face lie…….. please provide links to an accurate model…..”

    good questions.

I would actually say that the most knowledgeable on the subject Michael Evan Mann of Penn State.

As to the real question, your second set…..

Is it possible to have any knowledge on the subject of climate only for the past 100yrs out of the over 6 Billion years that we need to understand before we can manipulate it.

The Climate is a system that man does not have the processing power to calculate even if we knew all the variables… which we don’t.

Mankind is just not there yet fellas and the green movement is a tool of political oppression nothing else.

  27. Seamus that’s not an accurate model it’s a link to propaganda explaining why anyone who has a complaint about the models not giving accurate answers is a kook…. when it is just the opposite. It starts out with ultimate lie of lies…..

Climate models are mathematical representations of the interactions between the atmosphere, oceans, land surface, ice – and the sun. This is clearly a very complex task, so models are built to estimate trends rather than events. For example, a climate model can tell you it will be cold in winter, but it can’t tell you what the temperature will be on a specific day – that’s weather forecasting.

You see right there the whole community loses credibility. They build their entire premise on a lie.

  28. What is wrong about it?

  29. ahhh…. ok

    Lets start with the basics.

Climate is long term weather, nothing more.

The variables are the same. We can’t predict what the temperature will be at 13:47 tomorrow, but we can predict it down to the half degree a hundred years from now…. Sorry go sell it somewhere else.

The nonsense that Climate is not weather is a cop out. Real science will eventually be able to tell us what the temperature will be 3 days or 300 years from now. I have total faith in that, we just aren’t there yet. We still don’t know everything we don’t know.

The old gods warned the new god beware the hairless ape…. they did so with good reason, but we are still just hairless apes.

  30. “We can’t predict what the temperature will be at 13:47 tomorrow, but we can predict it down to the half degree a hundred years from now…. Sorry go sell it somewhere else.”

We can’t predict what the temperature will be at 13:47 tomorrow. But we can give a good estimate at what the temperature range will be. What the average temperature over the day will be.

“Real science will eventually be able to tell us what the temperature will be 3 days or 300 years from now. I have total faith in that, we just aren’t there yet. We still don’t know everything we don’t know.”

Real science already can. Modern Urban VIII’s of the world, like yourself, want to deny real science and what it says because you do not like the implications of what science says.

  31. Seamus

As I have posted many times on this blog, it is a total waste of time arguing climate science with Patrick and his fellow-travellers hereabouts.

No amount of scientific evidence will ever convince them. Because they are not arguing on science, they are arguing on politics, and they are mostly Christian fossil-fuel shills “the great gifts that the good God gave us”. It’s like a Darwinist arguing with a Creationist, and most of them are Creationists as it happens. Pompeo is one, so of course he welcomes the Arctic melt. He thinks the earth is only a few thousand years old and that it will end in Armageddon soon because that’s what his good book tells him. Of course he knows that his boss in the White House is a godless adulterer but the good lord sometimes sends bad men to do good work. As in promoting fossil fuels forever.

One of the many ironies is that the fossil fuels that they are so in love with are the result of jungles that died hundreds of millions of years ago, but most of them believe that the earth is less than ten thousand years old. They are pig-ignorant by choice and their days are numbered. LOL

  32. “The “scientists” were caught cheating fudging the numbers, the computer models have never given the same answers twice.”

You keep saying that. It isn’t true. You have provided no evidence for it and it has been shown to be false repeatedly.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/copenhagen-climate-change-confe/6672875/Whos-to-blame-for-Climategate.html

A little over a week ago, hundreds of internal emails written by scientists working at the CRU were obtained by a hacker and posted on the internet, some of which appeared to show that researchers had deliberately faked evidence of global warming by manipulating statistics.

Phil Jones, the 57-year-old director of the CRU, is the man who has suddenly found himself the number one target of climate change conspiracy theorists the world over after he sent the most damaging of all the emails exposed by the anonymous hacker.

In one message, dated November 1999, he wrote: “I’ve just completed Mike’s trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 to hide the decline.”

Gotcha! say the global warming sceptics who have argued for years that average temperatures on Earth are, in reality, either stable or going down. Professor Jones defended himself by claiming the word “trick” was used out of context and simply referred to a legitimate method of handling data. But there was more.

An email sent by one of Prof Jones’s colleagues said: “The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t.”

Prof Jones, whose department has for years refused to release its raw data on temperatures, wrote another email in which he said sceptics “have been after the CRU station data for years. If they ever hear there is a Freedom of Information Act now in the UK, I think I’ll delete the file rather than send it to anyone”. By chance, he now admits he has “accidentally” deleted some of the raw data.

Another message said the CRU’s method of collating data “renders the station counts totally meaningless… so, we can have a proper result, but only by including a load of garbage!”

But the bandwagon was already rolling, and it won’t be stopped.

  33. you have no scientific evidence. Tell me what the conditions were 3 billion years ago at the summer solstice. Was the planet in an ice age, was it warming, was it cooling….

You don’t have the data sets to do the calculations. Our recorded knowledge of accurate weather recording is no more than 50 years of data.

actually it’s even less. The record really starts with the launching of the global weather satellites. Until that system came on line we couldn’t even get a worldwide temperature.

Science requires hard numbers gentleman not trends and paper records from all over the world with differently calibrated thermometers.

How old is the planet? For shit’s and Giggles lets say 5 billion years old. What was the planets temp avg in the first billion or the 3rd Billion.

When the Earth was on it’s proper magnetic axis and had no moon were the climate cycles the same. What were the lengths of time between frozen cycles 2 billion years ago. What is the length of the current cooling/heating cycle?

Your “scientists” can’t answer any of those questions yet they tell you that after 30yrs of study of only 50yrs of accurate readings they KNOW by tracking one molecular combination of chemicals co2 carbon dioxide….The percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere is about 0.04%. That’s FOUR ONE HUNDREDTHS OF ONE PERCENT but by controlling less than a tenth of 1% the atmosphere we can stop the climate from changing.

    You actually believe that?

1000 years from now my descendants will be sitting on the beach on the good side of the Hispaniola drinking rum ogling women in bikinis and laughing at your descendants as he lecture them about the dangers of antimatter…….

    You’ve been conned gentleman.

  34. LOL

  35. that’s what I’m doing Peter Laughing at all of you just as my descendants will… 😉

  36. No Patrick

Your descendants will curse you and your fellow-travellers who continued to shill for fossil fuels and greenhouse gases. And (maybe) managed to hold up effective action until it was too late.

And all in the interests of the fossil fuel industry which has bought and paid for your corrupt GOP politicians. Just like the tobacco industry managed to delay effective action against their cancer sticks for decades. It’s the same playbook and you are being played.

  37. What action Peter ?

India and China are building new coal plants every month. The US is not part of the climate treaty, but we are the only nation to not just meet it’s goals but we’ve exceeded the goals for lowering our emissions.

90% of the Oceans plastic pollution comes from 10 rivers in the world 8 from Asia and 2 from Africa…..

You better pray that I’m right because the only country in the world doing anything is the US.

  38. India and China are building new coal plants every month.

So we should let them dictate our policy? Whatever happened to “America First”?

And in any case China is installing clean energy at a massive rate, for the simple reason that it neaes to clean up its air pollution asap:

“China may be the planet’s biggest polluter but it’s also powering ahead of other countries on renewable energy. As the Trump administration yanks the U.S. out of the Paris climate change agreement, claiming it will hurt the American economy, Beijing is investing hundreds of billions of dollars and creating millions of jobs in clean power.

China has built vast solar and wind farms, helping fuel the growth of major industries that sell their products around the world. Even in China where coal is — or was — king, the government still recognizes that the economic opportunities of the future are going to be in clean energy,” said Alvin Lin, Beijing-based climate and energy policy director with the Natural Resources Defense Council.

More than 2.5 million people work in the solar power sector alone in China, compared with 260,000 people in the U.S., according to the most recent annual report from the International Renewable Energy Agency. While President Trump promises to put American coal miners back to work, China is moving in the opposite direction.

    https://money.cnn.com/2017/07/18/technology/china-us-clean-energy-solar-farm/index.html

  39. China’s air Is completely filthy

I tasted the coal in the air the minute I got off my Continental airlines flight in Beijing

The Chinese are making a major transition away from that type of stupid energy that Trump fetishized for the dopes

You don’t turn an aircraft carrier around on a dime, And you don’t turn around the energy patterns of largest country in the world on a dime either

  40. so once again our enemy China is the good guy and the US is the evil empire…..

even though once again the US is the ONLY nation to have reduced it’s levels below the ipcc standard… but we’re the bad guys.

  41. Who said that China was a good guy. Their Government is a pack of murderers

Did you go to elementary school? You Have extremely severe reading comprehension issues

When China does some good things we should be honest enough to say so

  42. No Phantom you lay praise on the Chinese while you condemn the US

The Chinese are making a major transition away from that type of stupid energy that Trump fetishized for the dopes

That’s praise of the worlds largest polluter while condemning people who unlike you face the Truth…. Solar can’t replace anything, Wind can’t replace anything, neither can nuclear.

The World runs on oil to deny that is delusional and at this point in time there is not a fuel on the planet that can replace it.

According to these cultists we have ten years to stop using all oil and all coal… world wide.

Do you really believe that is feasibly possible in any way?

I don’t. So according to cultists then we’re doomed it’s too late the planet is fucked and we’re all gonna die.

Sorry but I don’t believe that either….. I believe everything is fine at least in our country. We have more than enough fuel to last a couple of hundred years and Science real science within the next 50 years will have advanced beyond fossil or will have rendered any damage from fossil fuels inert.

Unlike these fanatics I have faith in human ingenuity, I spend half my time reading tech and science periodicals we are on the verge of a new phase of advancement the likes of which is beyond their ability to grasp.

In the meantime Oil is the blood that keeps mankind alive.
