THE BBC NEVER DISAPPOINTS

By Pete Moore On June 19th, 2019

“Abdullah from Bristol”

The BBC hosted a debate between the Tory leadership candidates last night. (Before you ask, I had many better things to do.) There was no studio audience, but questions were taken from viewers.

The BBC never has random people on its political broadcasts. There are no vox pops with people they bump into on the street. The BBC doesn’t take the risk of unapproved opinions getting out. “Abdullah from Bristol” called in to take Boris Johnson to task for saying that women in burkas look like letterboxes. Long-time BBC viewers would have immediately smelled a rat. The BBC portrayed him as some random caller.

It turns out that Abdullah is an Corbynista anti-semite (is there any other kind?) who claims that girls are partly culpable when men attack them. Quite awkward, but the success of Operation Get Boris is most important.

No? I think the BBC give a fair crack to all political opinion. Just lok at the platform this British unionist was given in the Scot’s independence debate:

  2. US TV didn’t give much cover to the yellow vests in France

BBC World gave a lot of coverage. On one program, they gave most of an hour to in depth reporting of it, inclusive of interviews of people from all sides of French opinion, letting all of them speak.

Let me know the next time that Fox does that.

  3. Yes Pete, and the BBC has apologised now that the deleted tweets of this Islamist bigot have come to light.

But let’s not forget how extreme are the views of the 160,000 Tory party members who will elect Boris Johnson by acclamation next month:

“So dedicated to accomplishing Brexit are Tory members that a majority (54%) would be willing to countenance the destruction of their own party if necessary. Only a third (36%) put the party’s preservation above steering Britain out of the EU.

Party members are also willing to sacrifice another fundamental tenet of Conservative belief in order to bring about Brexit: unionism.* Asked whether they would rather avert Brexit if it would lead to Scotland or Northern Ireland breaking away from the UK, respectively 63% and 59% of party members would be willing to pay for Brexit with the breakup of the United Kingdom.”

  4. who claims that girls are partly culpable when men attack them.

That’s nothing. There are guys around these parts who claim that all women secretly want to be raped.

  5. Paul McMahon,

//That’s nothing. There are guys around these parts who claim that all women secretly want to be raped.//

They’re guys also claim, that most women desire to be raped and most want to have sex with a black man.

  6. The BBC does Lean a little to the left. But it’s not that bad really.
The licence fee funding model should definitely be scrapped though.
