ATW Buzzwords

By Patrick Van Roy On June 30th, 2019

Guest Post by Paul McMahon

One of the great casualties of the left – right battles on ATW over the years has been language. The buzzwords employed by ATW rightists for individuals have been varied and inventive, dhimmi, virtue signaller, globalist and collectively, the elite, the establishment, globalists, Common Purpose, the political class, Deep State, Bilderberg are some of the ones that immediately spring to mind from the ecletic word salad, alphabet soup of right wing newspeak  fuzzword phraseology.

The preponderance of this vernacular has of course increased exponentially with the election of Donny Boy as POTUS where ‘alternative facts’ , smoke and mirrors, blatent contradictions and such have turned the linguistic lexicon on its head to where the effect and substance of words mean absolutely nothing anymore. This can be seen regularly on the metaphorical pages of ATW in both the impish and not so impish chicanery of both some writers and regular commentators.

In terms of political discourse this is of course tactical and the psychology of the use of this argot means that easily transferable but non specific, opaque labels can be applied to anyone you disagree with thus Donny Boy can continuously negatively carp on about ‘globalists’ while simultaneously administrating a global business empire and maintain the US global military base network. Boris Johnston and David Rees Mogg can wax lyrical about ‘elitists’ and ‘the establishment’ whilst being the very definition of multi millionaire elitists born into a privileged life who have reached the pinnacle of the established British media and financial worlds.

People who are critical of rightworld extremism are then attempted to have their criticisms quashed by being variously dismissed as ‘dhimmis’ ‘open borders guys’ ‘virtue signallers’ instead of having the points addressed. Indeed, what are the pages of ATW and the letters pages of the murkier British tabloid press but virtue signalling in reverse? Is it not the very thing that rightworld accuse others of?

The jargon of the extreme right, with their talk of the omnipresent ‘elite’ and ‘establishment’  and the faceless Deep State and Common Purpose reminds me of the war in 1984 where an undefined enemy is geographically and psychologically distant yet at the same time supposedly ubiquitous and incredibly dangerous.

That and of course the fact that Pete Moore writes for the Ministry Of Truth 😉

  1. As always thanks Pat.

  2. no problem

  3. Good post Paul. Refreshing to see an expose of the paranoid conspiracy delusions of the Right, which more than match the often ridiculous SJW excesses of the snowflake leftists.

  4. The term “fake news” could have come out of 1984.

But does the right really have a monopoly on the abuse of the English language as opposed to that of the Left? Doesn’t the term rightworld act as the pejorative du jour when it comes to dismissing an argument out of hand?

  5. Charles

That’s the point. Political rigidity leads to the extremes of both left and right being far more similar than they are different.

  6. balderdash and nonsense……

    Plain and simple.

  7. Fake news is a wonderful term, one that’s now used worldwide

It was popularized by President Trump

But he is one of the biggest practitioner of fake news that has ever lived , and his supporters are largely believers and spreaders of Fake News ( Uranium One, Seth Rich, etc etc )

  8. Patrick

Your 5:39 comment. Is that a brief description of your posts ? 😉

  9. This an absurd article. The “omnipresent ‘elite’ and ‘establishment’ and the faceless Deep State and Common Purpose” have been defined and shown by me, Pete, Harri on several occasions. Here’s the bottom line………

That is, to a rational mind, an utterly ridiculous position to take on a site which acts as a forum for opinion and – most importantly – for participants to provide evidence in support of their opinions which, in turn, explains why such opinions are held.

This is the analysis of the leftist mind which explains the malady of Paul……

    https://www.counter-currents.com/2019/06/what-is-the-metaphysics-of-the-left-part-one/

Earlier I noted that when confronted with facts that contradict their views on, say, race or sex differences, Leftists will simply dismiss the evidence or engage in ad hominem argument. However, matters are actually much worse than this. Often, Leftists will resort to explicitly rejecting the very idea that facts exist. It is no response to point out that they assert as fact that facts do not exist. As noted earlier, the identification of contradictions in the Leftist position will simply be brushed aside. This is because logic itself has now been attacked as masculinist, imperialist, and white supremacist. It is a fact that facts don’t exist; it is objectively true that truth is relative; and it follows logically that logic is a tool of white supremacism. If it seems like the Leftist position is becoming a chaotic and noxious maelstrom of constantly shifting and contradictory ideas, this is actually the whole point.

  11. Well done Paul, you have rattled the cages of two of the usual suspects and made them snarl:

    Trump-Groupie Patrick and Putin-Groupie Allan.

  12. Sticks and stones, Paul.

Putting aside your silly claims that their is no establishment, no Common Purpose, no Bilderberg gatherings, and no Deep State, you’re only looking in the mirror.

Nazi, fascist, racist etc have been and continue to be commonly employed by the left against opponents. The point is to shut down debate. Alinksy rules – isolate the opponent and attack him personally. The left has done this very successfully.

The left also wanted identity politics. But they don’t like it now that the right is coming back with their own identity politics. Well that’s just tough. The left wrote the rules, but it didn’t think that the right would co-opt them.

So stop being a snowflake and man up.

  13. Peter –

England have their mojo (and opening partnership) back. They will beat NZ on Wednesday and then win the World Cup.

  14. Bit late to the party here folks but I’ve been out on a very pleasant social evening like the cider socialist I am and I’ll come back to this tomorrow when my thoughts are less fuzzy.

  15. Good post Paul. Cheers.

  16. Pete Moore

//So stop being a snowflake and man up.//

LOL. Says the biggest snowflake on ATW.

Wahhh! wahhh! Dave Alton indirectly called me stupid so I’m going to threaten to ban him cause I’m a little snowflake. You wanna try and Manning up yourself.

  17. They will beat NZ on Wednesday and then win the World Cup.

    Pete

Maybe England will beat NZ but that will still leave a semi-final and a final to win. Heroic failure beckons as always, but of course it would be great for England to win with an Irishman as captain.

    balderdash and nonsense……

  19. Whatever you say Patrick. I’m struggling to remember you posting anything critical of Trump on this forum, but no doubt you will correct me if I’m wrong.

  20. I was critical when he was running against Cruz, but so far as President there is nothing to criticize him about yet.

  21. LOL

The endless lies, the endless lies, the endless lies. Now numbered in the thousands. He lies every time he opens his mouth, he can’t help it.

And of course the racism as in the “good people” of Charlottesville and the constant race-baiting. He is a true son of the Klan, no question.

And the constant grovelling to dictators like Putin, he just loves all of them and despises his democratic allies.

To be fair to the schmuck he males no secret of his loyalties. Which are to the white race. Everything else follows from that.

  22. What were you critical about? Where are your critical posts?

  23. What has he lied about?

Everybody here throws that he lies crap…. lies about what?

I see none please list them.

No President keeps their campaign promises and this has at least tried…

    Judges…. check

    Tax Cut… check

    Border wall.. Check

    Term Limits… LOL

    Better trade deals… check

    What am I missing.

  24. Phantom I’ve called him a crazy Carny Barker since day one that he was running I have never said he was sane.

And until he beat Cruz (who lasted longer against him than anyone else) I supported Cruz.

  25. that’s one of the things I love about you Phantom… your babble of nonstop TDS to me has succeeded in Painting me as a die on the cross Trump supporter which I have never been.

During the Mueller investigation I said if they find anything I’ll handout the pitchforks and torches. I’d be just fine with a Pence Presidency.

So far the man has done a better job than I believe Cruz or anyone else could have. When he f**ks up believe me my voice will be outfront.

    So far so good

  26. You’ve never criticized him, not even once

A carney barker Isn’t necessarily anything bad or dishonest

He’s a criminal, a con artist, a fraud, and everyone knows it

And you adore him as Jesus Christ 2.0

  27. He’s a criminal, a con artist, a fraud, and everyone knows it

    YOU

constantly attack me because I call Hillary Clinton a Felon and I can name 3 Felonies that she openly admits to.

Please Please for the ten millionth time SHOW ME HIS CRIMES!

  28. They love the word feral as well.

Name calling, and dehumanizing others has always been a part of the right wing makeup. Donald Trump did a great job tapping into that.

  29. and now the silence will descend…… because there are no crimes, we know that 100% now don’t we…. they ran through his shit with a fine tooth comb.

They committed TREASON to give themselves the ability to go through his shit and they found nothing…….

The best part is I don’t know who talked both him and Barr into putting Barr in as AG, but that is going to save the Union.

Sadly Jeff Sessions was an empty suit.

The left is all upset Barr is protecting the President…. Barr is not a Politician. Barr is a former spook brought into the executive branch by daddy Bush, but he has always been a cops cop.

The New York Times described the “central theme” of his tenure to be “his contention that violent crime can be reduced only by expanding Federal and state prisons to jail habitual violent offenders.”[30] In an effort to prioritize violent crime Barr reassigned three hundred FBI agents from counterintelligence work to investigations of gang violence, which the New York Times called, “the largest single manpower shift in the bureau’s history.” In 1992, Barr authored a report, The Case for More Incarceration,[33] which argued for an increase in the United States incarceration rate, the creation of a national program to construct more prisons, and the abolition of parole release.[4] Barr argued that incarceration reduced crime, pointing to crime and incarceration rates in 1960, 1970, 1980 and 1990

Since his return to the executive branch he’s concentrated on one thing and one thing only. INTERNAL CORRUPTION and he has purview over all the justice and intelligence agencies.

The Democrats Treason may very well wind up being the best thing that could have happened. And no other Candidate could have survived the anal exam they gave Trump. You don’t like it Phantom but he survived without a scratch because in spite of your personal hate the man has been proven to be clean as a whistle.

Now the magnifying lens has been flipped we’ll see what happens.

  30. I’ve spoken of Trump’s crimes at length.

Stealing from the charity might be a conversation starter. Not paying small contractors was another. Hiring illegal aliens was another.

You guys if I recall correctly had no comment to make on any of that. You heard it all and then you said “that’s the guy I want for president “

  31. What has he been charged and convicted of….. those are the standards YOU SET…. not me.

  32. Which of these charges do you didn’t like to be true

  33. Which of these charges do you deny are true

You’ve had at least two years to think about it

  34. Hey Phantom when they opened the SC I was certain we would have Pence as President by now.

Not that they would find any russian crap, I can’t believe anyone in construction on that scale can’t be nailed for dealing with Organized Crime. The Mob still controls both the Union and waste disposal.

They made no connection and believe me they tried.

  35. Some of these things are not hard to know, but very hard to prove

He used illegal alien Polish labor for the demolition that made way for Trump Tower in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, an area where unions are very strong

Someone likely gave “ permission “ for that to happen

Because the unions would have noticed that project day one

  36. But does the right really have a monopoly on the abuse of the English language as opposed to that of the Left? Doesn’t the term rightworld act as the pejorative du jour when it comes to dismissing an argument out of hand?

It certainly doesn’t have a monopoly on terms of abuse Charles however the above post is more concerned with the psychology of dismissal rather than abuse. I’m unaware of ‘rightworld’ being used outside ATW and when it’s used here I think it’s used as a collective noun to refer to two or three of the more ‘exuberant’ commentators on ATW rather than as a dismissal of argument, e.g. I remember Pat taking umbrage at the term and I explained to him that IMO his non racism precluded him from the noun. Besides, this is ATW where the terminology lefties, liberals, commies, cucks etc are thrown about like confetti.

Putting aside your silly claims that their is no establishment, no Common Purpose, no Bilderberg gatherings, and no Deep State, you’re only looking in the mirror

Of course these groups exist Pete but generally they’re populated by the guys you cheer for, see the references to Trump, Bojo and Rhees Mogg above as the globalist establishment elite and Trump’s staff have attended Bilderberg. Righ extremists use these undefined fuzzy words as the faceless, detached enemy and brand anyone they don’t agree with as such.

Nazi, fascist, racist etc have been and continue to be commonly employed by the left against opponents

But you are a racist and Allan is a Nazi admirer. You’ve both openly admitted it yourselves.

The left also wanted identity politics

Oh Jesus Pete catch yourself on. From the first day I discovered ATW it was all about identity politics.

So stop being a snowflake and man up

No snowflakery about it mate. I’m pretty far from being a red but take ATW rightworlders like yourself Commie, lefty etc branding as a badge of honour.

When Paul was getting his arse handed to him on a plate on this thread

Getting my arse handed to me? Nothing like a bit of self praise eh? I think you’re reading a different thread from me:

I think it’s a ten year old story of load of academic waffle which relies heavily on unidentified ‘unpublished UK – based research’ and ‘demographic projections’ and so do you – or has sociology, which you have sneeringly dismissed in the past, suddenly become a respectable science for you?

  37. I don’t step into these things that often anymore since I put the Troll back in his cave, but in this case I’m going to.

As I set this post up for Paul I read it as I always do, check it for subject matter(not that anyone here has crossed a line), spelling(believe it or not) and then I usually have to scour the web for the image he used…. but I will discuss that with him later.

Reading the post I egomaniacaly assumed I helped inspire it with my argument with Seamus over commie teachers. I say argument because I view every conversation as one not that we were actually having one.

Lefty, Righty, Centrist, Fascist, Commie, Cuck, Maroon, Asshole, git, twit, dick, bitch, cow, Racist, Bigot, surprisingly C*nt or Fa**ot are only very rarely used but these are all things both side of the coin have used……

So what? yes we might have a bigger audience if we didn’t, but do we want people here who are offended by silly words? That’s not free speech nor is it a conversation.

I have nothing politically (almost) in common with anyone on this site, yet I am here. I enjoy the conversation. I know there are certain conversations I try not to get involved in because I will go over the top. Learn to walk away from a conversation if it gets you angry. Then when you cooled down return to it or not….

But leftworld-rightworld…. ya pack of whiney bitches…….

  38. Once again Pat, it’s not about the sometimes insulting terminology but the psychology of language and how peole you don’t agree with are attempted to be shut down as as an easily transferred, non specific ‘globalist’ and so on and non defined ‘globalists’ ((())) etc can be used as a faceless, geographically detached but ever present psychological enemy.

  39. Reading the post I egomaniacaly assumed I helped inspire it with my argument with Seamus over commie teachers

Actually you did spark it a bit. Your convo with Seamus reminded me of a quote from Richard Dawking letter to his ten year old daughter:

Next time somebody tells you something that sounds important, think to yourself: ‘Is this the kind of thing that people probably know because of evidence? Or is it the kind of thing that people only believe because of tradition, authority or revelation?’ And, next time somebody tells you that something is true, why not say to them: ‘What kind of evidence is there for that?’ And if they can’t give you a good answer, I hope you’ll think very carefully before you believe a word they say.

Which got me thinking about how conversations develop.

  40. good saying….

but there are people here that aren’t interested in evidence…. I call people names for effect and theater. I will ALWAYS discuss my reasoning behind my beliefs to give the other person the chance to explain why I am wrong.

Being called a Conspiracy Kook and refusing to hear the reasoning behind something while condemning it outright is what Seamus and many on the left here do.

I may be wrong on a lot of my positions, I may be right on a lot of them. I am always willing to argue the merits of my beliefs.

Calling someone a conspiracy kook BEFORE they lay out their reasons is exactly what you complain about in this post.

  41. Being called a Conspiracy Kook and refusing to hear the reasoning behind something while condemning it outright is what Seamus and many on the left here do.

I absolutely, absolutely don’t think that’s the case and think the only person that could be applied to is yer man from Aberdeen who not only goes down but also round the bend of the rabbit hole whose ‘evidence’ is not only usually a myriad of weird and wonderful obscure Youtube videos etc and comments on them but also this kind of thing:

    https://www.huffpost.com/entry/daily-stormer-nazi-style-guide_n_5a2ece19e4b0ce3b344492f2?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly91ay5zZWFyY2gueWFob28uY29tLw&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAACg14avgZuZqmvfIQFX0Gb2vpcqVLx8oD58ty97xyvNWzes5Hoj9p8QvaL1mN_s4k95WJe3HEzuOtWeNcejqkA-IHJcU2LWUeUFJsl6CW2meh7C_CTOnc8_z85ay2ShgPv3bk5JIwTNlRpvQyWku6aJhzKIj8mQShQl8-t_3-7ql

His stuff has also been ridiculed by those right across the political spectrum here.

In the latest exchange betwee Seamus and you my reading of it was he asked you to produce evidence of your claim akin to Marxism running wild in the US education system where past some unlinked text on Gramsci and the Frankfurt school you were unable to do so. You then said Seamus couldn’t know as he doesn’t lived in the US and that he insulted you by calling you a kook.

  42. There can be little dispute that identity politics / the politics of racial and ethnic resentment has deeply infiltrated the US primary secondary and advanced education system.

Discard the ” marxist ” discussion, which is pretty useless. The societal problem is there, regardless of what you call it. Marx didn’t call for quotas, etc, but that is what we have.

  43. that’s why I walked away from the conversation.

It was descending, both of us seemed to just be tired. I really don’t believe in conspiracies. Sure they exist, but they never stay hidden and they very rarely work.

    Mostly it’s Synchronicity and Fate.

  44. Discard the ” marxist ” discussion, which is pretty useless. The societal problem is there, regardless of what you call it. Marx didn’t call for quotas, etc, but that is what we have.

too true and no one wants to really do anything… sure it’s discussed but neither side has a solution.

  45. The societal problem is there, regardless of what you call it. Marx didn’t call for quotas, etc, but that is what we have.

That however wasn’t what was claimed in the conversation I refer to and is a different discussion.

  46. Mostly it’s Synchronicity and Fate

I largely agree. A society develops heterogonously by reacting to differing events.

  47. think to yourself: ‘Is this the kind of thing that people probably know because of evidence?

On the face of it, it’s a very good quote. But is it practical? We all have a lifetime of learning where we would be hard-pressed to present evidence for our beliefs. What “evidence” can I present about super-novas other than an internet link which may be right or wrong? I therefore listen to authorities on the subject and conclude that, yes, super-novas exists.

MY point is that when people say “where is your evidence” more ofen than not it is a sly method to shut down debate.

  48. also true.

The subject of the conversation if I ever would have gotten around to it is how the american education has been subverted by Marx and Engels and the way it’s been done people don’t understand the origins of the philosophy that’s being taught.

  49. MY point is that when people say “where is your evidence” more ofen than not it is a sly method to shut down debate.

    right on the money Charles

  50. MY point is that when people say “where is your evidence” more ofen than not it is a sly method to shut down debate.

With the greatest of sincere respect Charles that’s a fairly ridiculous comment.

Discussion is a dialectical process and conclusions are reached through propositional consideration and evidence of the proposition. While abstract concepts such the heavens can’t be touched we know they exist because of the theories and expertise of others, e.g. gravity can’t be seen but we know it exists because of Newton’s law of universal gravitation.

Likewise, if you’re making a premise in a discussion it should be supported by credible evidence otherwise Hitchen’s razor comes into play. To quote DP Moynihan, ‘everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts’ and if Pat claims that Marxism is running wild in the US education system he’ll have to support it.

The subject of the conversation if I ever would have gotten around to it is how the american education has been subverted by Marx and Engels and the way it’s been done people don’t understand the origins of the philosophy that’s being taught.

    The flor’s yours Pat.

  51. he asked you to produce evidence of your claim akin to Marxism running wild in the US education system where past some unlinked text on Gramsci and the Frankfurt school you were unable to do so.

I’ll take that one – but are you OK with me providing evidence via links noting……

The stuff these unhinged nutters are doing in academia is hilarious, until one realises that this is what’s going on at University. Here’s how any academic who disputes the tranny agenda is being dealt with:

    https://www.spiked-online.com/2019/06/26/the-purge-of-trans-sceptical-academics/

In the UK academy, we have become accustomed to students deploying the ‘No Platform’ policy to silence external speakers. Now this same censoriousness seems to have spread to the world of academic journals, as evidenced by the pressure put on two academics recently to stand down from their editorial roles.

The academics under attack are already leftists – but are clearly not sufficiently far-left. The situation in the US is, if anything, far worse. Be prepared for footage of the winning inter-college debating team which makes the Congo appear advanced in comparison

The problem isn’t that people such as these women exist. Freaks always have and always will be with us. The problem is that they aren’t only taken seriously, but are treated as if their insanity isn’t only normal, but commendable.

That comment above applies to every item of degeneracy which Paul supports

  52. And please, no more links.

That was of course in relation to tour weird and wonderful links on that thread as you know.

    Spiked Online?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. What did the Koch Brothers tell them to write?

That comment above applies to every item of degeneracy which Paul supports

    Ho hum:

Whose ‘evidence’ is not only usually a myriad of weird and wonderful obscure Youtube videos etc and comments on them

  53. Have there been any more good articles in the Turkish medical publications

  54. I remember one of the links he provided as ‘evidence’ once actually carrying a side article about lizard people shape shifters. Seriously, I am not inventing this.

I think it was then that I stopped opening his links.

  55. He should do standup at the next Aberdeen open mic night

    http://openmikefinder.com/UK/Scotland/Aberdeen-City/

  56. Phantom – that article was in the thread below, a very interesting thread indeed:

    https://www.atangledweb.org/?p=55113

As for my post at 6.07pm, with which parts do you disagree?

  57. Paul, I could make the statement “the sky is blue.”

Seamus will say “What’s your evidence?”

And I think hell, how do you “prove” the sky is blue?? It has something to do with the way that the elements absorb light etc, etc, but “prove” it? Can’t do it!

  58. Paul, I could make the statement “the sky is blue.”

Which could be evidenced by looking at it?

  59. While abstract concepts such the heavens can’t be touched we know they exist because of the theories and expertise of others, e.g. gravity can’t be seen but we know it exists because of Newton’s law of universal gravitation.

Suppose that Newton had not proposed his law of universal gravitation – then there would be no gravity? Brilliant

  60. Technically the sky isn’t blue. Light coming from the sun is white but when it hits Earth’s atmosphere the light is scattered by the molecules in the atmosphere. It is scattered into the components of white light. Blue is scattered more than other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. And because of that we perceive the sky being blue.

  61. And to be fair Occum’s Razor should apply in all conversations. The simplest solution is most likely the right one. By simplest it isn’t the easiest to understand but the solution requiring the least evidence to explain it. And so if someone deviates from the simplest solution then it is pretty much acceptable to ask if they have any evidence.

So, in your scenario Charles, if you were to say “the sky is blue” then I would no ask for evidence. If you were to say “the sky is green” I would ask for evidence.

  62. A color blind person make take issue with that “evidence.”

My point is not to be purposely obtuse. We were talking about debate and ways in which debates are shut down. A@A regularly links to evidence HE FINDS CONVINCING, but are regularly rubbished, and probably should be. An internet link does not necessarily good evidence make.

PVR’s modis operendi is that he knows what he knows, and fuck you if you need a link!

I think I’m starting to side with Pat’s method of debate here! 🙂

  63. Seamus, with his brilliant minds, thus nails it!

  64. If Patrick can explain his reasoning then so be it. But the “trust me I know what I’m talking about” isn’t debate. It is the opposite of it. Saying something is true despite a lack of evidence because I know it is true is the opposite of informed debate.

Patrick put forward an idea. It was based on a conspiracy theory. I showed it was based on a conspiracy theory. He lost his shit over that. He had no further evidence for it not being a conspiracy theory than his “trust me I know what I’m talking about” spiel.

  65. that’s your take not mine.

  66. https://www.atangledweb.org/?p=78825#comment-746603

This is the start of the “Cultural Marxism” conversation. Everyone else can have their take.

  67. A@A regularly links to evidence HE FINDS CONVINCING, but are regularly rubbished, and probably should be. An internet link does not necessarily good evidence make

A@A has no interest in debate, only in forwarding the agenda of his obsession. Nothing must detract from the narrative:

While abstract concepts such the heavens can’t be touched we know they exist because of the theories and expertise of others, e.g. gravity can’t be seen but we know it exists because of Newton’s law of universal gravitation.

Suppose that Newton had not proposed his law of universal gravitation – then there would be no gravity? Brilliant

Although occasionally he twists things so much out of sight he makes an even bigger arsehole of himself.

  68. I never did take debate in school, and I wish I had. It sharpens the mind. I know I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer around these parts, but I do love the conversation, and love to learn new things. For instance, Seamus explained perfectly well why the sky looks “blue.”

  69. Pat,

The subject of the conversation if I ever would have gotten around to it is how the american education has been subverted by Marx and Engels and the way it’s been done people don’t understand the origins of the philosophy that’s being taught.

    The floor’s yours Pat.

I for one am open to persuasion. Go for it.

  70. Full disclosure the bulk of it is from NASA. Which is why I have spelt colour wrong.

  71. yes please go and ANYONE please find where I said “trust me I know what I’m talking about”

  72. yet I live here, I have experienced the American Academic System. I went to an Ivy League School and had to deal with the nonsense first hand.

  73. The floor’s yours Pat

I for one am interested in the basis that American education has been subverted by Marx and Engels

  74. I for one am open to persuasion. Go for it.

I will later on tonight….. right in the middle of something that I can’t stop to concentrate…

  75. I look forward tom the challenge

  76. It has been subverted by identity politics and by corrupt teachers unions.

  77. I am also open for persuasion on the subject (not least because I don’t view the works of Marx or Engels as naturally subversive). But actual persuasion that stands up against challenge.

  78. you’ll all get a good effort out of me, I’ll get it done at some point over the next day or two probably sooner.

It is 4th of July week I am in the middle of trying to help with 2 veterans events, 1 homeless/addiction event and a family barbeque so I am in and out today and tomorrow should have it all set by Tuesday night.

  79. While abstract concepts such the heavens can’t be touched we know they exist because of the theories and expertise of others, e.g. gravity can’t be seen but we know it exists because of Newton’s law of universal gravitation.

Emphasis – “we know it exists because of Newton’s law of universal gravitation”

which means that had Newton not proposed his law of universal gravitation – then there would be no gravity? Brilliant

    and yet

Although occasionally he twists things so much out of sight he makes an even bigger arsehole of himself.

Still more brilliance – this is one anus that has no end

  80. Oh don’t talk balls. It would still exist without Newton’s theory. Are you seriously trying to suggest that the gravitational pull of the earth would disappear if Newton hadn’t devised his theory?

We know why it exists because of Newton’s law of universal gravitation

Are you happier with that wording?

  81. If Newton was Jewish, Allan would regard Gravity as a mendacious creation of the ‘ chosen people’ designed specifically to hold the gentiles down. 😉

  82. Superb Colm 🙂

  83. Charles
//MY point is that when people say “where is your evidence” more ofen than not it is a sly method to shut down debate.//

I think you’re a smart guy Charles, but this is complete nonsense.
If you state to you’re providing factual information, then it’s up to the person making that claim to back it up with evidence. No honest person can disagree with that.

  84. Allan@Aberdeen
//While abstract concepts such the heavens can’t be touched we know they exist because of the theories and expertise of others, e.g. gravity can’t be seen but we know it exists because of Newton’s law of universal gravitation.//

    Utter nonsense.

  85. Dave, not my best quote, to say the least! 😉

  86. Can I also point out that gravity can be seen? Hold something in mid air and let it go. The thing is going to drop.

  87. Seamus, I saw a Youtube video one time that refuted gravity, and said that “things fall because they’re heavy!” lol

  88. Seamus,
//Can I also point out that gravity can be seen? Hold something in mid air and let it go. The thing is going to drop.//

Indeed Seamus, but Paul’s corrected himself so I let him off.
Although the heavens parts of his statement still makes no sense.

  89. Charles in Texas,
//Dave, not my best quote, to say the least! 😉//

Don’t worry mate. I make some Howlers does myself sometimes.

  90. “Seamus, I saw a Youtube video one time that refuted gravity, and said that “things fall because they’re heavy!” lol”

At times I try not to be to intellectually snobby but other times the intense stupidity of some people makes me think fuck it.

“Indeed Seamus, but Paul’s corrected himself so I let him off.”

Indeed. It just keeps getting copied and pasted and every time I almost have to blink at it a few times.

  91. *too

  92. Dave, that’s my quote, here it is worded better:

We know why it exists because of Newton’s law of universal gravitation

Can I also point out that gravity can be seen? Hold something in mid air and let it go. The thing is going to drop.

Surely the effect of gravitational pull as opposed to gravity itself?

  93. “Surely the effect of gravitational pull as opposed to gravity itself?”

Sure. Observe is probably the correct term to use. You can observe gravity (by seeing its effects).

  94. Although the heavens parts of his statement still makes no sense

I made it in the context of Charles’ comment about super-novas and the that normal humans on earth will never be in outer space and depends on the theories developed by scientist and the study of space missions etc to understand them Dave.

  95. Are you happier with that wording?

Paul – I shall explain gravity:

Ponderable matter acquires the energy which gives it mass from the environment, the all-pervasive energetic fluid which surrounds all particles. Because particles have that energy provided to them from the surrounding fluid, the fluid is depleted in energy in the same manner that wind when imparting energy to a turbine is reduced in energy downstream of the turbine – because the ‘loss’ has been imparted to the turbine blades. In the ether and its localised depletion of energy owing to presence of mass, that ‘loss’ is gravity. If matter were to be returned to the background by elimination with its anti-particles, so too returns the energy to the fluid and the loss is made good thus ending gravity: no mass means no gravity.

It’s the Tesla model – a continuum of non-ponderable particles (photons) envelopped in the energetic fluid which sustains an infinite range of vibrations and above all, that range of vibration which causes photons to rotate at a speed limited by the friction between fluid and particle i.e. average superficial rotation of ‘c’.

  96. Paul – I shall explain gravity

I’m aware of the explanation of gravity thanks. What I don’t understand is why you decided to make a pedantic dick of yourself by trying to insist that had Newton had not proposed his law of universal gravitation – then there would be no gravity.

  97. Paul – you wrote…..

gravity can’t be seen but we know it exists because of Newton’s law of universal gravitation.

Do you understand what you wrote? You wrote that “gravity exists because of Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation”…..BECAUSE OF. Now that’s simply wrong: can you not see it?

  98. Read my less clumsy rewording of the comment and stop making a pedantic wab of yourself.

  99. ead my less clumsy rewording of the comment and stop making a pedantic wab of yourself.

  100. Typical conspiracy theorist. Less clever than the rest of us but tries oh so hard to prove otherwise.
