THERE’S A SOLUTION TO THIS

By Pete Moore On July 5th, 2019

The public have lost confidence in the police and fear that Britain has descended into lawlessness because of knife and drug crime, five former heads of Scotland Yard warn today.

They finally looked up from the doughnut bin and saw what’s going on. But then they revert to type. Met Commissioners are political animals, and if there’s one thing the police have always been goo at it’s lobbying for yet more money. So they blame the politicians even though, by historical standards, police numbers remain high.

So here’s an idea; introduce coppers to shoe leather and get them using it. Get off Twitter Patrol and start patrolling the streets on foot. Get out of the cars, helicopters and diversity awareness classrooms and simply be a visible presence. There are more than enough coppers to do that, and many of them need the fresh air and exercise.

That alone will begin to cut crime.

  1. No Pete. Police numbers have been cut by 15% under the Tories. And of course the terrorist threat is much higher than in 2010. I agree that getting out there more is important but so are the numbers.

If I recall correctly, New York Citty’s crime wave was reduced dramatically under Mayor Giuliani with the help of a significant increase in police numbers. London needs to do the same. It’s not rocket science.

  4. An understaffed police force can’t do very much

  5. Sorry PVR. I’ve done a 12-hour day and just walked in the door while you’ve been sat on the porch strumming a banjo. I’ll get right to it.

  6. Peter –

At any moment of the day or night only a tiny minority of coppers are on the streets. When they start wearing out shoe leather they can start talking numbers. The police is like the NHS – grossly inefficient and set up only to waste our money. When they start what we pay them to do they can start talking then.

And commies can shut it too. It’s left wing social policies which have led to rocketing crime rates.

  7. Here’s one way to cut crime. It might even make the Tories electable. Legalise the weed:

“This week, a new poll found that a staggering 63 per cent of Londoners support following in the footsteps of Canada and legalising the drug. In the country as a whole, the Evening Standard survey found that 47 per cent are in favour and 23 per cent are undecided, putting the prohibitionists in a clear minority…

With increasing hype over the “green rush,” it is estimated that cannabis could be the UK’s next billion-pound industry – if we had a government bold enough to seize the opportunity. At this point, opponents of legalisation parrot the argument that the business potential would be offset by higher health and criminal justice costs. This simply isn’t the case.

On the contrary, if the drug were regulated and taxed appropriately, it would be a cash cow for the Treasury.

The TaxPayers’ Alliance estimates that the savings to police forces and prisons, from no longer having to knock the joints out of users’ hands or tackle cannabis-related crime, would total £892m a year. The Adam Smith Institute, meanwhile, values a legal market at £6.8bn, bringing in over £1bn in tax revenue each year – a boost for both the Treasury and the economy.

Addiction and health issues could potentially be reduced by a legal market for products regulated for safety and quality (as with alcohol and tobacco), which, unlike the current black market, would enable consumers to know exactly what they were buying…”

I would agree That police should spend a lot less time on diversity quotas and all that nonsense. They should strive towards zero hours On those counterproductive things

But visible policing is not necessarily good. I rarely see police in uniform where I live. I almost never see them in uniform on the subway. That doesn’t mean that they’re not around

Smart , Scientific, proactive policing is what you strive for. Plainclothes methods can be very good – Where the bad guys don’t know who a cop might be

  11. Phantom –

The primary objective of policing (in a sane world) is to deter crime before it happens. By far the most effective way of achieving this is to have a policing presence, whether that’s a copper at the end of the carriage or the copper walking up and down the High Street.

    This plainclothes stuff is reactive.

  12. Paris and London are capital cities sharing the same problem……

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/07/03/afghan-migrant-attempts-kill-french-police-officer/

A homeless migrant from Afghanistan was arrested over the weekend after attempting to kill a Paris police officer with a shard of glass following a brawl.

The incident took place on Sunday evening in the 18th arrondissement of Paris and saw around ten people, some armed with wooden weapons, brawl with each other before plainclothes police officers attempted to break up the fighting, Le Parisien reports.

As the officers proceeded to calm the situation, a 19-year-old homeless Afghan migrant, who was in a state of intoxication, broke a bottle on a pole and rushed one of the officers with a shard of glass in an attempt to kill him.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7204663/Afghan-asylum-seeker-fuelled-desire-kill-English-people.html

An Afghan asylum seeker who allegedly attacked random members of the public with a knife was ‘fuelled’ by a desire to kill English people, a court heard.

Samiulahaq Akbari, 32, is accused of swinging a 10ins kitchen knife at three ‘total strangers’ within a 10-minute period in Thornton Heath and Croydon in south London after ‘demanding to know their nationality’.

The problem disappears when it is deported so these ‘future pension-providers’ can help their own people out of poverty in their own lands. I note that the Afghan who wanted to kill English people approached whites because being English is to be white, as we all know.

  13. Pete

I assume that you are still a supporter of the nanny-state prohibition of cannabis?

  14. Pete

The example of New York City Contradicts that assertion

Giuliani/Maple/Bratton Broke the back of crime and this very large city And Plainclothes policing was a very big part of it

And using similar tactics , Even under democratic mayors, The crime rate has continued to stay down, While crime and a number of other large cities Has not gone down

  15. sorry for the voice recognition typos but I believe that you get my point.

Compstat, Broken Windows, all that stuff really works.

If then Home Secretary May had allowed Bill Bratton to take that job eight years ago, the situation in London would have been different now. One of the most effective police leaders of the century offered to work for you, and she told him to get lost.

  16. Pete Moore,

//The primary objective of policing (in a sane world) is to deter crime before it happens. By far the most effective way of achieving this is to have a policing presence,//

That’s a completely nonsensical statement. You don’t deter crime by having more police, you just move the crime somewhere else, where there are less police.
criminals don’t see police and think that’s it I’m not going to commit any more crime.

  17. …..fear that Britain has descended into lawlessness

It’s more like Britain and the entirety of the western world is descending into a Biblical degeneracy, and that cannot end well:

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/07/04/teen-who-declared-there-are-two-genders-barred-returning-school/

A Scottish 17-year-old who was suspended for filming his teacher telling him that he could not say in class that there are only two genders has been told he cannot return to his school.

The youngster who stated a fact has been banned from school, although the scum at the local authority put it in different words…..

An Aberdeenshire council spokesman told the Evening Standard: “The young man in question has not been permanently excluded from Mearns Academy, but rather at the age of 17, has reached the end of his time in compulsory education.”

“Staff from the school are working hard to ensure that the young man has a positive future placement either in further education or in an area that he chooses,” they added.

A crowdfunding page was set up on Monday to cover getting him into a new school and living expenses, and raised more than $2,000 — before reportedly being shut down for breaching GoFundMe’s terms of service in an unspecified manner. The page address now shows the message: “Campaign Not Found.”

  18. “If then Home Secretary May had allowed Bill Bratton to take that job eight years ago, the situation in London would have been different now.”

My understanding is that it wasn’t just opposition from Theresa May (though that was part of it) but it was actually against the law at the time. At the time the Met Commissioner (and I think every Chief Constable, with the exception of the PSNI) had to be a British citizen. It was also part of the internal politics of the time and May probably didn’t want Cameron encroaching on her responsibilities.

That law for what it is worth was changed later on.

  19. I remember that this issue had been raised

Bratton did say that he was willing to accept British citizenship, If that was a possibility

In police departments, as in other organizations, There can be great resistance to accepting a leader coming in from the outside – One reason why many organizations stagnate

Apropos of nothing, the current head of the New York City subways Is a British fellow , Who in my opinion is doing an exceptionally fine job,Despite all the difficulties he has inherited

  20. There is no actual reason that the Met Commissioner has to be British other than the law at the time which is why it was sensible that they changed it.

The Met Commissioner is a bit of a poisoned chalice in that they have arguable the most difficult policing job in the UK (though the PSNI Chief Constable may object to that), and are accountable to both the Home Secretary and the Mayor of London. It would be like the NYPD Commissioner being accountable to both the Mayor of New York and the Secretary of Homeland Security or the Attorney General. In the last decade at least half of the time the Mayor of London and the Home Secretary have been from different parties. And even when they were the same party they were two very different strands of that party (Theresa May and Boris Johnson).

  21. The descent of the western world into the abyss of degeneracy may be measured by where it is now against how far Germany went in the 1920’s/30’s. One sees that in Germany

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institut_f%C3%BCr_Sexualwissenschaft

The Institut für Sexualwissenschaft was an early private sexology research institute in Germany from 1919 to 1933. The name is variously translated as Institute of Sex Research, Institute of Sexology, Institute for Sexology or Institute for the Science of Sexuality. The Institute was a non-profit foundation situated in Tiergarten, Berlin. It was headed by Magnus Hirschfeld. Since 1897 he had run the Wissenschaftlich-humanitäres Komitee (“Scientific-Humanitarian Committee”), which campaigned on conservative and rational grounds for gay rights and tolerance. The Committee published the long-running journal Jahrbuch für sexuelle Zwischenstufen. Hirschfeld built a unique library on same-sex love and eroticism.[1

Magnus Hirschfeld coined the term transsexualism,[6] identifying the clinical category which his colleague Harry Benjamin would later develop in the United States. Transgender people were on the staff of the Institute, as well as being among the clients there. Various endocrinologic and surgical services were offered, including the first modern sex reassignment surgeries in the 1930s. Hirschfeld also worked with Berlin’s police department to curtail the arrest of cross-dressed individuals, including those suspected of wearing certain clothing in connection with sex work, through the creation of transvestite passes issued on behalf of the Institute to those who had a personal desire to wear clothing associated with a gender other than the one assigned to them at birth.[7][8]

This degenerate filth was burned in 1933 by decent people who had had enough. When one reads of ‘nazi book-burning’, it was this shit that was burned: nothing of value was lost.

Today, this shit is now in the curriculum to be indoctrinated into nursery children, and children in primary schools and anybody who questions this filth loses his future:

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2018/11/11/scottish-schools-lgbt-equality-embed/

The Scottish education system is to become the first in the world where primary and secondary schools are required in the curriculum to promote LGBT identity and lifestyles.

Every state school will have to “embed” lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex “equality and inclusion” within “all levels of the curriculum from early years to senior phase” after the Scottish Government accepted in full the recommendations of a working group headed by LGBT activists.

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2017/11/10/scotland-plans-children-change-gender/

The Scottish government has been warned that plans to let children legally ‘change gender’ amount to “state-sponsored child abuse”.

I agree. We are in 1930s Germany all over again. A purge is coming.

I haven’t seen anything that indicates that our people have what it takes to throw off the alien.

  23. Without disagreeing with your sentiment Patrick I’m pretty sure that 7/7 = 1.
