AN ELECTION’S COMING

By Pete Moore On July 24th, 2019

It’s like a great, dead weight called Theresa May has been lifted off the country. What a miserable, robotic and lifeless form she is. The soundbites have gone to be replaced by pizazz, energy and dash.

That background noise is coming from the unwashed commies who stink up every corner of central London now. What an embarrassment. As well as triggering almost the entire media, Boris has appointed one Dominic Cummings to his team. Cummings was the mastermind behind the Vote Leave campaign. I’d suggest that he’s in full campaign mode now, and that speech in Downing Street was the opening shot.

  1. As well as triggering almost the entire media

You seem to be pretty much triggered yourself Pete, two blogs in as many days.

  2. It’s news.

  3. It being the media’s job to report news they’re not ‘triggered’ then?

  4. Cummings was the mastermind behind the Vote Leave campaign

Remind me, how much were Vote Leave fined for breaking electoral law again? £61,000 was it?

  5. And Cummings was also found to be in contempt of Parliament for refusing to answer questions about his fake news machine.

  6. Pete’s new found love for Boris is as fickle as a “Love Island” romance. Pete will adore Boris just as long as he gets lefty bashing satisfaction from it.

  7. Paul –

The Electoral Commission is the provisional wing of the Remain campaign. It “fined” Vote Leave even though Vote Leave did nothing wrong.

The Electoral Commission misinterpreted EU referendum spending laws allowing Vote Leave to break them, the High Court has ruled.

Vote Leave paid £625,000 to clear bills allegedly run up by university student Darren Grimes.

The watchdog initially said it had no grounds to suspect this was a scheme to get round spending limits.

It later changed its mind and fined Vote Leave and Mr Grimes – and also referred him to the police.

The High Court agreed with the Electoral Commission finding in July that Vote Leave had broken the law, but said the watchdog had misinterpreted the rules, in the run-up to the June 2016 referendum, in advice it gave to the Leave campaign.

It “misinterpreted” its own rules. That’s how corrupt the EC is. In the end Grimes was totally exonerated. Vote Leave paid the “fine” because the campaign was wound up and no longer had funds for the legal bills. But there’s not the slightest doubt that it did anything wrong.

Now the Remain campaign broke a lot of laws. The news Home Secretary, Priti Patel, submitted a dossier about it to the EC. Strangely, the EC has yet to open an investigation.

I’m told you, the EC is corrupt. Totally corrupt.

  8. Colm –

    Congratulations.

I’ve clearly said that Boris is far more PC than the commies realise, and 24 hours ago I said that he’ll stuff up big time.

But you don’t allow such things to get in the way of what you want to think, do you? Well done. You stick to your path.

  9. Priti Patel. That nasty idiot who said food shortages in Ireland would be a good thing as it might force them to bend to the Brexiteers will.

  10. Pete

Your 9:07 makes little sense, but then again it’s like most of your comments 😉

  11. It makes a damn sight more sense than you 9.09pm, which is a lie. Priti Patel said no such thing.

  12. Oh yes she did Pete. She said the possibility of “no deal” food shortages in Ireland should be used as leverage by the U.K. to press Ireland to get the EU to drop the backstop. We can argue about the exact words but her implications were obvious. You can use whatever literal sophistry you wish to claim she didn’t but it was a crass opportunistic remark by her but she’s a Hardline Brexiteers so can do no wrong in your eyes.

  13. In the end Grimes was totally exonerated

Now now Pete. Dont try to conflate the Grimes and Leave separate cases.

Did Leave appeal against their fine? Have they paid the £61,000 yet?

Now the Remain campaign broke a lot of laws. The news Home Secretary, Priti Patel, submitted a dossier about it to the EC. Strangely, the EC has yet to open an investigation.

Why would the EU investigate any allegations in a British referendum election? That’s the role of the British Electoral Commission, (who fined Leave £61,000).

The Electoral Commission is the provisional wing of the Remain campaign.

Superb Pete perfidy. I wouldn’t have expected anything less.

  14. I’d suggest that he’s in full campaign mode now, and that speech in Downing Street was the opening shot.

Yes Pete, and never mind that he stated repeatedly over the past two months that he would not call an election before Brexit and that he would not make an electoral pact with Farage. It’s clear tonight that he is ready to break the first pledge and as soon as he does that he will break the second one as well. But of course we know that he’s a serial liar, just not as compulsive a liar as his hero in the White House who lies on a daily basis.

  15. I thought Boris Johnson’s speech was quite good, as far as it goes (more in terms of overall attitude than content) but I recall we had all this guff before from David Cameron prior to his election in 2010. To listen to Cameron during the 2010 TV debates, you would be forgiven for actually thinking that he was a conservative!! But the proof was in the pudding, as it turned out. And so, no, I won’t trust Johnson until his actions prove his words, and my vote will stay with TBP until such time. Speeches are just speeches, it’s action that counts.
The question arises in my mind, “how will we know that we have really left the EU”? Will it be merely because a piece of paper has been signed? No. I will know that the UK has left the EU when EU policies and directives are NOT being implemented here. When I can look at the EU and see that it is doing “ABC” and that the UK instead is doing “XYZ”. When the UK is demonstrably and ostensibly heading in the opposite direction from the EU on most major policy areas. When EU directives simply do not apply and are not being enforced here. That’s when I’ll say to myself “Yes, this is more than just BRINO, we actually have left”.
