“Abracadabra, Trump Is A Racist.” Baltimore’s Problems Solved By Magic Incantation

For some people, the summer heat is a crisis that will kill us all unless we cross the Atlantic in a sailboat.  For others, like me, it is a chance to relax.  After taking a break from the news cycle to catch a few rays, I eased my way back into real life by some TV binge-watching, namely the next set of the Democrat Presidential debates.  I then got hit with a statement so bizarre that I immediately realized I must have missed something from the last few days’ news…..

“What do you say to those Trump voters who prioritize the economy over the president’s bigotry?”

This was a question posed to a candidate by Don Lemon, one of the partisan journalists “moderating” the debates. I had a bet on Lemon with Paddy Power that he would be the first on stage to take a knee when the national anthem played, but this was something else again.  The go-to position of the Dems, Libs and pretty much all of the MSM is that Trump’s views are “racially charged,” but to ask a question like this in a debate on national TV (sorry, only CNN) meant that somehow Trump had said something in the last few days that proved he was the worst racist ever.

So what exactly did Trump say, and was it racist?  It was easy to find out as DuckDuckGo (I’m not using Google until they stop being Google) quickly turned up some remarks to Rep. Elijah Cummings.

Cummings criticized Trump’s handling of the border crisis caused by Congress, and Trump fired back all Twitter barrels blazing by asking why Cummings wasn’t cleaning up the mess in his own district.

Cummings is an African-American, and the Baltimore section of his district is mostly African- American.

Here is an exciting quiz to see if you too can play “Spot the Racist” as well as the Dems, Libs and the New York Times.  Here are various descriptions of the Baltimore area in Cummings’ 7th Maryland Congressional District, but only one is Trump’s.  Which is it?

  1. “This morning I left my community of Baltimore, a drug infested area ….. where people are walking around like zombies.”
  2. “Anyone who took the walk ….. around this neighborhood would not think you are in a wealthy nation. You would think you were in a Third World Country ….. we’re talking about a community in which half the people don’t have jobs. We’re talking about a community in which there are hundreds of buildings which are uninhabitable.”
  3. “What the hell? We should just take all this shit down. Whoa, you can smell the rats.  Whew, Jesus. Oh my God, you can smell the dead animals.”
  4. “Yet, here we are again in a mess of a city. Food containers, balled up clothes, paper, banana peels, plastic bags and tons of other pieces of litter line the shoulders of roads, pile up in alleys and are strewn across fields and yards. Not only is it unsightly and contributes to a rodent problem, but it can create a glum and gloomy feel in a time when the city is already facing self-esteem issues because of high crime….”
  5. “Residents constantly call the city to remove trash, no one shows up for months. Rats & roaches are a problem in almost every home. Illegal immigrants at the border live in better conditions than Americans in West Baltimore.”
  6. “ (The Trump Administration) has given $16 billion in 2018 alone to Elijah Cummings’ district in federal grants. We have given more money in homeless funds to Baltimore than the last administration. We have given more money in community development grants than the last administration to Baltimore ….. what are you actually doing with the money so that it benefits residents in the community for once instead of deep pocket crooked politicians?”
  7. “Cumming(s’) District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.”

Connoisseurs of Trump’s inimitable orange stylings will have guessed the last, and correct answer.  Here are all the racists revealed and the year of their comment:

  1. Elijah Cummings, Representative Of Maryland 7th Congressional District, 1999
  2. Bernie Sanders, Democrat candidate for Presidential nomination, 2016
  3. Catherine Pugh, Democrat Mayor of Baltimore, 2018
  4. Baltimore Sun Editorial Board, 2019
  5. Kimberly Klacik, Republican Baltimore County politician, 2019
  6. Lyne Patton, US Dept. Housing and Urban Development Administrator, 2019
  7. Donald Trump, President of the USA, 2019

Discerning readers will notice the fact that four of the above folks are African-American, as are some of the Baltimore Sun Editorial Board.  And you are probably wondering why Cummings himself is on the list dissing the town as badly as Trump.  He lives in Baltimore and so he understands the problems better than most as his comment shows.  And strangely enough, he himself became a Baltimore crime statistic only a few hours before Trump went on his tweeting rampage when his house was burgled.

The response to Trump’s remarks was extraordinary.  Immediately, every MSM commentator, journalist and all Dem Politicians went ballistic as if Trump had made up with the Squad and had started quoting from the Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion instead of the Baltimore Sun.  By a strange coincidence, first out of the box was the Baltimore Sun in a vituperative editorial in which they changed their position 180 degrees on rats and stated that “It was better to have a few rats than to be one.”  Gone were the old days as recently as three years ago when the Baltimore Sun, in another Op-Ed, stated that Trump was right in some other negative comments he had made on Baltimore in his first campaign for the Presidency, and that Baltimore was so far gone that it would be best to tear it all down and start again.

So why did this particular comment become the be-all and end-all to characterize the President’s supposed white supremacy yearnings?  Looking back through other news events it was immediately obvious as to why.  Mueller, him of the eponymous report that deep-sixed the ludicrous Trump Russian conspiracy theory, testified last week in front of the House Judicial Committee. It was such a disaster that the Hindenburg was quoted as crying “Oh, the humanity!”  The Dems on the Committee might have foreseen this, but they were using it as the lynchpin of their strategy to paint Trump as a Russian tool. They really believed Mueller’s written words of no conspiracy would be magically transmuted when verbally spoken to “No more lies, that’s him wot dunnit!”  They weren’t.

Now the Dems aren’t going to drop the Trumpsky nonsense anytime soon.  They play the long game, as shown by the way in which an obviously lying Anita Hill, used by the Dems in 1992 to smear Clarence Thomas’ Supreme Court appointment, become a sainted heroine 26 years later during the Kavanaugh hearings when the incorrigible Dems again sang the siren song of Supreme smearing.  However, even the Dems have realized that the Puppet of Putin garbage will have to be put on the back burner for a while.  To fill the vacuum, they turned on a dime to an old favorite – racism.  Trump’s unremarkable response to the African-American Cummings was nice timing for them, but really any comment would have done. And they assuaged their disappointment with Mueller by hitting it hard and often.  Trump was changed magically overnight from someone who’s speech was “racially charged” to being a stone-cold racist by the Dems’ handmaidens in the Press.

Trump is not an appealing personality as he views all human interactions through the lens of whether it is making him look good or not.  But is he racist?   If you measure a man by his actions rather than his words then he most assuredly is not. In less than three years Trump has improved the environment of all minority populations in this country better than any other President through his economic plans.

African-American, Hispanic and Asian unemployment are at all-time lows, and women unemployment is at a 65 year low (women are accounted as a minority in this country despite the fact they are a majority).  3.5 million African-Americans alone are off food stamps and working. Billions of dollars are being poured into African-American communities to establish investment opportunity zones in these areas.  Trump sponsored and pushed the First Step Act last year to remedy the draconian legislation passed by the Dems as far back as the Clinton Administration.  91% of the first set of prisoners released from prison under this act were minorities.  Interestingly enough, the woker Dems slammed Biden in the debates this week for his role in passing this legislation in 1994, although somehow I missed any praise for Trump.  Trump ran for President on a platform of improving the lot of the forgotten Americans of the last 20 years or so.  There was no caveat in his platform saying this just means whitey.

For those who judge a man by his language, there is more ammunition.  He has made one public racist comment.  In 2016 he stayed that Judge Gonzalo Curiel could not decide a case correctly (Trump University) as he was Hispanic and so biased due to Trump’s desire to secure the southern border – a specific accusation that an individual cannot do something due solely to their culture. Trump did apologize, but being Trump it was very much after a fashion.  But all other supposed racist comments have been shown not to be so when analyzing what was actually said, as opposed to what the media said he said, e.g., comments on Charlottesville.

Trump has an unfortunate habit of using general groups of folks, e.g., Mexicans, Muslims, etc., when making specific points about either illegal immigration or terrorism.  It’s clumsy and sometimes overshadows the point he is trying to make, but not racist whatever the media says.  In addition, he is criticized by his opponents for only attacking POCs (a new acronym meaning ‘person of color’).  Most white Republican politicians, especially those in the Bush and McClain families, anyone white and powerful that crossed him in New York and Florida (including Jeffrey Epstein to the chagrin of the Dems), and Rosie O’Donnell would disagree vehemently with that statement.

And finally, his view that illegal immigration is a serious problem for this country is considered racist because the majority of illegal immigrants are POCs.  If so, that would make the majority of America racist, as the overwhelming majority of American citizens, including all minorities, share this view.

Which brings us back to Don Lemon’s question that opened this article.

It very much foreshadowed the fact the Dems will not fight the Presidential election against Trump with the logic of whether Trump has improved the lot of the American people, as they would lose bigly. Instead, they will fight with emotion. Trump is racist, misogynist (this popped up briefly in the debates), worse than Hitler and Putin’s Pawn (yes, this lie will be gradually rehabilitated over the next few months and then returned to service).

And this will be trumpeted by partisan journalists and the chattering classes in service to the Dems for the next eighteen months.  That, and a promise to give masses of free shit away from healthcare to student loans to reparations is all the Dems

Indeed, I’m sure the Trump supporters found it hilarious that he gloated when Elijah Cummings became the victim of a crime:

  2. Not at his most presidential, I will admit.

  3. Fight fire with fire….. Cummings says the President is running dettention camps where children are being kept in squalor… it isn’t true and in all his 23 years of service Cummings has never even bothered to go to the border.

But the District Cummings is responsible for is a rat/drug infested shithole that has received 19 billion in aid to deal with these issues and somehow nothing has changed.

  4. No one should follow the degraded fake president in using terms like that.

It is an insult to all good American traditions to do so.

Cummings is no good, he has accomplished nothing in a long career except wasting money, leave it at that.

  5. Among the worst states for meth use and prescription and illegal opioid abuse is Kentucky, particularly white, rural Kentucky.

Why no mention of Mitch McConnell and the Republican governor of Kentucky who have prospered over this human destruction?

Fiddling and giggling over the death of a generation is OK when Republicans do it?

  6. Mitch (the turtle) McConnell is just as bad as Cummings. This problem crosses both parties Phantom. It’s worse on the Dems shoulders though because they control the big cities and have for half a century.

The United State Government dept of Federal Grants needs to have a forensic audit. An INDEPENDENT firm needs to audit every dime that flows from DC. FOR THE PUBLIC!

  7. We the People need aq complete public audit of the US Government. Every dept, every representative, and every senator. We’ll never get the later two, but we need an independent audit that explains where every dime is itemized….. that would put an end to a ton of shit.

  8. Three random mass shootings in the US within a few days,
including by a right-winger who believes immigrants are criminals who are invading the US,

and still no post about any of them.

Good to see that some people are uncomfortable.

  9. no ones uncomfortable at least not here and the shooter was kook registered democrat Noel…. but I don’t hold that against democrats because he was a NUT.

I do want to point out that we had one “mass” shooting with 20 dead and another “mass” shooting where 9 were killed…. there was also a shooting in a Chicago park this weekend where 8 people were killed yet somehow that didn’t make the news….. why not.

I guess dead black people killed by a black man doesn’t count.

  10. Weekend shootings roundup: 52 shot, 8 killed in weekend …
    https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2019/6/1/18648305/chicago-weekend-shootings-52-8-killed
Jun 03, 2019 · 52 shot — 8 fatally — in Chicago’s most violent weekend this year The weekend’s shooting victims include two people killed in separate Humboldt Park incidents and four wounded in the Gold …

    Author: Sun-Times Wire

    Yet no outcry WHY?

  11. There was a time that mass shootings were rare. Then we talked about “today’s mass shooting”. Now we talk about “today’s mass shootingS”. It’s become the norm somewhat unless and until it hits close to home. I hope Charles is ok. Thought of him when I heard about the El Paso shooting.
On a totally unrelated (and admittedly inappropriate) note: binge watched “Derry Girls”. S’funny. Silly but fun to watch.

  12. your views are always welcome Mairin

  13. Charles was at Fort Hood when there was the shooting there also

  14. //there was also a shooting in a Chicago park this weekend where 8 people were killed yet somehow that didn’t make the news//

Patrick, if you can’t tell the truth normally, at least try to be truthful when talking about people being murdered.

  15. The shooter was kook registered democrat Noel

He was a Hilary hating, Bernie bashing, anti Democrat registered Democrat then:

    From the ‘patriot’s online diatribe:

Due to the death of the baby boomers, the increasingly anti-immigrant rhetoric of the right and the ever increasing Hispanic population, America will soon become a one party-state. The Democrat party will own America and they know it. They have already begun the transition by pandering heavily to the Hispanic voting bloc in the 1st Democratic Debate. They intend to use open borders, free healthcare for illegals, citizenship and more to enact a political coup by importing and then legalizing millions of new voters. With policies like these, the Hispanic support for Democrats will likely become nearly unanimous in the future. The heavy Hispanic population in Texas will make us a Democrat stronghold. Losing Texas and a few other states with heavy Hispanic population to the Democrats is all it would take for them to win nearly every presidential election.

    Some Democrat.

There was also a shooting in a Chicago park this weekend where 8 people were killed yet somehow that didn’t make the news

According to the link you provide that’s simply not true.
