STUPID GIRL

By Pete Moore On August 16th, 2019

Greta Thunberg’s $4million yacht will arrive in New York in a couple of weeks, maybe. There are deep lows in the Atlantic right now. Those rollers will be pretty big. I hope she’s not feeling queazy …

She’s doing it lecture humanity about the evils of air travel and the like. But how is the yacht going to get back to Europe? Five crewmen will fly from Germany to NY to bring it back.

So it’s a farce and a scam, of course. The virtue-signalling circus will pump out many more carbons than if she’d just got a scheduled flight anyway.

  1. So it’s a farce and a scam, of course. just like global warming

  2. Pete.

This is called a strawman argument Pete, something you engage in quite often.

Whether or not this girl is a hypocrite doesn’t matter.
What matters, which has been repeatedly pointed out and not challenged, is that mankind is changing the climate of the planet, and these changes are going to make things much more difficult for future generations.

  3. The stunt was stupid

Why does the yacht have to be returned to Europe? Just sell it in the US. She doesn’t know how to use it anywyay

  4. I absolutely love that fact that sixteen year old Asbergers’ sufferer Greta Thunberg can make so many middle aged men get their knickers in a twist 🙂

  5. I’d imagine that someone put her up to this.

It doesn’t sound too intelligent to have a ” sixteen year old Aspergers suffer ” crossing the Atlantic ocean in a small boat

But if you think its brilliant then la dee dah

  6. Paul McMahon,

I absolutely love that fact that sixteen year old Asbergers’ sufferer Greta Thunberg can make so many middle aged men get their knickers in a twist 🙂

It’s quite sad really mate. of all the real injustices in the world they could be complaining about, this one gets them hot under the collar.

  7. Should the event be commented on at all? And if so should it only be praised?

  8. // Just sell it in the US. She doesn’t know how to use it anywyay//

Phantom, it isn’t her boat. You probably got that idea from Pete. This is a special boat lent by supporters that can cross the Atlantic very quickly.

I also think there’s too much hype around this girl, but if it helps her get her message across, who cares. The situation is very bad and getting governments to do something is worth tons of hype and dozens of transatlantic flights.

Complaining about climate change activists jetting around is like complaining that Wilberforce smoked cigars or wore cotton shirts.

The overall effect of their actions is all that counts, not 100 examples.

  9. Phantom,
//Should the event be commented on at all? And if so should it only be praised?//

    Yes and no.

  10. I absolutely love that fact that sixteen year old Asbergers’ sufferer Greta Thunberg can make so many middle aged men get their knickers in a twist

It’s certainly not that. In my case it’s that the power elites, the political/media nexus, crony corporates and corrupt climate industry are using a very ill and vulnerable girl take my money and liberties.

    https://quillette.com/2019/04/23/self-harm-versus-the-greater-good-greta-thunberg-and-child-activism/

Greta is eleven years old and has gone two months without eating. Her heart rate and blood pressure show clear signs of starvation. She has stopped speaking to anyone but her parents and younger sister, Beata.

After years of depression, eating disorders, and anxiety attacks, she finally receives a medical diagnosis: Asperger’s syndrome, high-functioning autism, and OCD. She also suffers from selective mutism—which explains why she sometimes can’t speak to anyone outside her closest family. When she wants to tell a climate researcher that she plans a school strike on behalf of the environment, she speaks through her father.

Do read it all to get an idea if how ill and vulnerable she is. Her treatment by her handlers is nothing less than severe child abuse. She has deep anxiety about life, but that anxiety is being focused on the climate change scam, to ramp it up even further.

Everyone who appears with her, participates in the stunts or lauds her is participating in severe child abuse.

  11. Eleven years of age, or as I thought sixteen?

In any event, not wise to be crossing the Atlantic in a small sailboat

Was this ever her idea at all?

  12. For whatever reason this reminds me of another stunt, when a seven year old girl died when crashed a plane that she was piloting, attempting to set some completely stupid record.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Dubroff

Seven year olds, or sixteen year olds can be manipulated by adults.

Adults who are supposed to protect them.

  13. //Eleven years of age, or as I thought sixteen?
In any event, not wise to be crossing the Atlantic in a small sailboat//

Christ, Phantom, what’s wrong with you today?

She is 16. She is naturally sailing with an experienced crew. In fact, there are two professional sailors, the German skipper and a French sailor, with them, as is her father.

It’s hard to credit, but a girl younger than her sailed a sailing boat around the whole world alone!

The route Greta and her crew were taking was not an easy one. North along the very dangerous south coast of Ireland and then against the Gulf stream all the way to NY.

They have now decided, I believe, because of the weather to sail instead on a southern route, past the west coast of France, and if they follow that route than crossing the Bay of Biscay will probably be the most difficult part.
Once you reach Spain you are generally safe until you reach the American coast.

The easiest way of all is sailing, in Spring, “south till the butter melts”, i.e. around Senegal in West Africa and only then turning West and let yourself be taken by the Trades smoothly across to the Carribean.

  14. Pete at 359 quoted from someone who said that she was eleven

  15. Pete’s link talks about Malena Ernman’s book Scener ur hjärtat. Ernman is Greta Thunberg’s mother and it recalls a problem they had when Greta was 11 years old.

  16. It’s certainly not that. In my case it’s that the power elites, the political/media nexus, crony corporates and corrupt climate industry are using a very ill and vulnerable girl take my money and liberties

Yes, surely. Power elites, MSM, globalists, Common Purpose, the ‘establishment’ and whatever other right wing contrivances can be thrown into the sound bite word salad ‘handlers’ are severely abusing this driven young woman vulnerable young child to repress you:

  18. wow that’s really cool

  19. That’s fantastic, Pete. Thanks for that. Didn’t know it existed.

  20. I think the direct route was as you said. You know how maps don’t illustrate the globe as it actually is. It looks like they dropped down to the Bay of Biscay to avoid that low pressure system.

  21. If the silly Swedish girl really wanted to make a ‘voyage of statement’, she would have taken the yacht to Libya and imported some rapists to Europe…….

    https://voiceofeurope.com/2019/08/ngo-transport-boat-ocean-viking-still-looking-for-european-port-to-offload-over-250-migrants/

The NGOs Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and SOS Méditerranée are still looking for a European port to dock at after collecting around 250 migrants off the coast of Libya.

The NGO’s migrant transport vessel, the Ocean Viking, embarked on its latest migrant pick up operation on August 4th, and so far has made three separate pick-ups of migrants who would all like to make Europe their new home. Most recently, the boat picked up 91 individuals in an inflatable boat in the search and rescue (SAR) zone off the Libyan coast, BFMTV reports.

Frédéric Penard, the director of operations for SOS Méditerranée, has voiced concern as to where the vessel might dock in Europe or if it will be able to dock at all.

Penard failed to comment as to why the migrants couldn’t be dropped off at a safe port in North Africa.

Add ‘population replacement’ to Paul’s list of right-wing contrivances. It’s only been 50 years since jews got the Immigration Act carried through Congress by Fredo Kennedy, and now they’re bragging about the imminent demise of whites

Yes – race really matters, as the world shows

  22. But what are you going to do about ir Allan?

Bar complaining from the oil rich middle class multi culti third world hellhole bunker my guess is fuck all.

  23. Paul – anything that I were doing about the destruction of Europeans, I wouldn’t be so stupid as to tell you

  24. Okay Rambo. That’s why you told that your ‘support’ was ‘financial’.

Buying your way into a wet dream where you can vicariously dream of someone doing the dirty work of cleansing society for your utopia.

  25. Paul – do you consider the imminent minoritisation of whites in the US to be a good thing?

  26. Go and peddle your vicarious wet dream dystopia somewhere else Rambo. No one pays attention to your fantasies except in ridicule.

  27. Paul – it’s a simple question based on the imminent minoritisation of whites in the US: would you say that it’s a good thing?

    https://twitter.com/V8POW/status/1161659858481045505

    The Judge @V8POW

Anderson Cooper barely able to contain his excitement about Whites becoming a minority.

Not thrilled about being replaced in the country your ancestors founded: you’re a “Supremacist”

  28. It’s certainly not that. In my case it’s that the power elites, the political/media nexus, crony corporates and corrupt climate industry are using a very ill and vulnerable girl take my money and liberties.

Bullshit. The power elites are the fossil fuel industries doing all they can to preserve their crony capitalist corrupt existence, and aided by useful fools like Pete Moore and others hereabouts.

  29. It’s truly remarkable how a teenager has got Rightworld into such a fossil-fuel shilling rage. Here is a possible explanation, although I think Ian Dunt is way too soft on the Greta haters, like Pete Moore:

“Greta Thunberg combines three things which drives all the worst people crazy. She is young, female and won’t take things lying down. This week, the young environmental campaigner set sail across the Atlantic on a solar-powered yacht. It triggered the now-standard bout of right-wing vitriol.

Brexit funder Aaron Banks responded by saying he hoped – in that joking-not-joking way which the hard-right uses to progress its agenda while establishing a defensive zone when attacked – that the 16-year-old capsize in the middle of the ocean. “Freak yachting accidents do happen in August,” he tweeted.
Earlier this month, Australian News Corp columnist Andrew Bolt labelled her “strange” and “disturbed”. Ukip’s zombified leader in Wales, Neil Hamilton, also tweeted about the campaigner recently, sharing images of her with demon eyes and the phrase: “Have you done anything this week which Greta might disapprove of?”
Establishing what it is about this figure which so enrages people is not difficult. It’s almost a trick question: What is it about this confident, idealistic young woman which so enrages old reactionary men?”

  30. “Last week, the world received yet another stark reminder of what’s yet to come as temperatures at the highest point of the Greenland ice sheet rose above freezing and melted the snow there for the first time since July 2012 and perhaps only the third time in the last 700 years. The glacier-covered island lost 12.5 billion tons of ice in one day.

As climate scientist Martin Stendel points out, that’s enough to cover all of Florida with almost five inches of water. Or, in metric units, enough to cover Germany with almost 7cm of water. Or Denmark with half a meter of water. A particularly warm, dry spring this year left only a thin covering of snow over exposed glacial ice. The planet has just had it’s warmest June on record, followed by the warmest July on record, consequently ice everywhere has been melting, from the glaciers of Greenland to the Himalayas. Thankfully, summer is coming to a close in the northern hemisphere.

“We will occasionally see a little bit of melt occurring well into the fall season, but not anything that has a large impact on the annual mass loss,” Thomas L. Mote, research professor of Geography and Atmospheric Science at the University of Georgia, told Forbes.

However, this level of ice melt wasn’t supposed to happen for another 50 years…”

Which means their predictions were wrong… which means their math was wrong…. which means the science is wrong….

These wackos have NO CLUE…. I love it… look look here we made a mistake that proves we’re right….

You can’t make comedy like this up… best laugh in days.. Thanks Peter

  32. that’s enough to cover all of Florida with almost five inches of water. Or, in metric units, enough to cover Germany with almost 7cm of water. Or Denmark with half a meter of water.

So, as projected surface area reduces, the height increases. That means that it covers the planet in another 0.04mm

Surface area of Denmark = 42933 sq km
Surface area of Earth = 510.1 million sq km

    Area ratio = 42,933 / 510,100,000 = 0.000084

    Increased water depth = 0.5m x 0.000084 = 0.04mm

    OR

that’s enough to cover all of Florida my house with almost five inches of water all the way to the moon

  33. Allan

From most of your comments here we can already see you are swimming on the moon 😉

  34. If you go to the badlands… it’s an actual place…. not very hospitable….

There are Fossils everywhere Raptors, T-Rex… 100s of different types of Dinosaur… under the Dinosaur are sea creature fossils… The middle of the US was once under water….

Now was that from a previous warming period or from the earth being shifted on it’s axis…?

Please link to any proof one way or another….

There is a point to the question

  35. The Western Interior Seaway largely disappeared due to tectonic shifts (the creation primarily of the main belt of Mountains in the US, the Rocky Mountains, the Laramie Mountains, the Black Hills). It was also not a short term thing. The Laramide orogeny occurred over over as much as 45 million years. So the Western Interior Seaway wasn’t there and suddenly not. Major shifts that take millions of years cannot be compared to drastic climate change that can take place in a very short number of years.

  36. there is no such thing as DRASTIC climate change… That’s called weather.

  37. No weather is weather. Climate change is when long term trends in weather shift.

  38. Which means their predictions were wrong

Yes, as I have pointed out to you before, the climate models as late as 2010 were predicting an ice-free Arctic Ocean by 2070. Now it looks like 2030 is possible.

You climate crisis liars cannot accuse the scientists of alarmism when it appears more and more that their predictions were way too conservative.

  39. No weather is weather. Climate change is when long term trends in weather shift.

This has been pointed out to this climate crisis liar many times on this blog. But he continues to spout the bullshit lies from Fox and the rest of the far-right fossil-fuel shills that he follows.

  40. Seamus, on August 17th, 2019 at 5:33 PM Said:
No weather is weather. Climate change is when long term trends in weather shift.

Sudden and Drastic….. are contradictions to the phrase long term trends….

  41. Yes, as I have pointed out to you before, the climate models as late as 2010 were predicting an ice-free Arctic Ocean by 2070. Now it looks like 2030 is possible.

Yes and once again our own words prove climate change as you see it is not science….

Factual Scientific Phenomena and the math that explain them don’t change.

If the math of your religion was correct there would be no change…. but since the models have never worked and at this point with our level of knowledge or actually lack of knowledge they never will….

  42. “Sudden and Drastic….. are contradictions to the phrase long term trends….”

Not in a planet that is 4 and half billion years old. Measurable, substantial change in the space of a few years is sudden and drastic.

  43. climate change as you see it is not science….

That’s a lie continually repeated by fossil fuel cultists, like you.

  44. Patrick,

“If the math of your religion was correct there would be no change…. but since the models have never worked and at this point with our level of knowledge or actually lack of knowledge they never will….”

You are seriously confused about what constitutes math, what models are, and how they are used.

Imagine that you are travelling in an armored vehicle into an area which is known to have occasional landslides of rocks, sometimes small, sometimes big, sometimes massive. According to computer models there probably won’t be a very big landslide within the next 70 years. And other models say that the vehicle can withstand the impact from really big rocks without any significant damage to it or the occupants.

You don’t believe the models. And so you’re not sure how heavy the landslide will be, if it will happen at all. Or if it will and will total your vehicle and kill everyone inside.

It would be completely insane to conclude that until the models are “perfect”, we should then act as if a landslide is definitely not going to hit your vehicle and that nothing bad will happen if they do. Rather the conclusion is that this journey is really freaking risky and you would be wise to hit the brakes and change course.

It’s the same with climate models. If you want to say they are shit or useless, fine. You’re wrong, but fine. See, we independently know that it is warming, and why. These models are the only things we have that say it won’t be as bad as all that. Without the models the conclusion is that it will get warmer anyway, and then we don’t know how bad it will get or how long it will take, but we know there will be changes, potentially very big ones.

So to say the models are no good is to say the risk is greater. That is an argument for more action not less.

  45. In that joking-not-joking way which the hard-right uses to progress its agenda while establishing a defensive zone when attacked

    Superb. 100% spot on:

  46. Yes Frank, but you are wasting your time. These people are from the “Four legs good, two legs bad” school of argument. It’s a culture war issue for them, not a scientific issue to be debated on the basis of evidence. They have made up their minds long ago, and the more evidence that is produced in favour of AGW the harder they push back against it.

  47. Interesting catch Paul. Our friend from Aberdeen could have written the guide himself, but in any case he faithfully channels it.

  48. The folks at The Daily Stormer claim that the white population of the US and Europe is being replaced by horrible brown and black creatures which commit crime and are incapable of sustaining advanced civilisation – the MSM agree with the claim.

    https://dailystormer.name/cnn-anchor-anderson-cooper-excited-by-future-white-minority-status/

Paul/Peter – is the imminent minoritisation of whies in the US a good thing?

  49. is the imminent minoritisation of whies in the US a good thing?

So do you count hispanic as niggers Allan?

  50. Go and peddle your race war white armageddon fantasies somewhere else, political chickenhawk.

  51. Peter – hispanics (central Americans) are non-white, and cannot sustain the levels of Europeans. Mexico is an interesting place but it is corrupt, murderous and backward compared to the US and Europe. So, the question remains:

Is the imminent minoritisation of whites in the US a good thing?

  52. Best of all, the bloody boat is made of Carbon !

  53. Mark B.

Best of all, the bloody boat is made of Carbon !

What the hell’s that got to do with anything?

  54. Paul.

Interesting link you posted there mate, thanks.

  55. It’s the psychology of propaganda taken to the old ‘many a true thing said in jest’ adage Dave.

There’s a few pointers from the Daily Stormtrooper,

Women can be called the following

    – Slut
    – Whore
    – Bitch
    – Harlot
    – Trollop
    – Slag
    – Skag

Whenever writing about women make sure to follow the prime directive and blame Jew femininism for their Behaviour […]

The goal is to repeat the same points over and over and over again

Just blame the Jews for everything.

This basically blaming Jews for the behaviour of other non – whites. Of course it should not be that they are innocent, but the message is that if we didn’t have the Jews we could figure out how to deal with the non – whites very easily.

The same with women. Women should be attacked, but it should always be mentioned that if it wasn’t for the Jews, thay would act normally.

The Jews should always be the beginning and end of every problem, from poverty to poor family dynamics to war to the destruction of the rainforest.

The undoctrinated should not be able to tell if we are joking or not […]

This is obviously a ploy and I do want to gas Kikes. But that’s neither here nor there.

That we can see regularly being played out on the pages of ATW. Seem similar to anything?

  56. Indeed Paul. The style guide in that article is almost a reflection of Allan’s personality. (well, the part of his personality that we see here on ATW.)
It’s interesting. I’ve come across many of these white supremacist, conspiracy theorists online in the past, and they all seem to parrot exactly the same nonsense.

  57. It would be completely insane to conclude that until the models are “perfect”, we should then act as if a landslide is definitely not going to hit your vehicle and that nothing bad will happen if they do. Rather the conclusion is that this journey is really freaking risky and you would be wise to hit the brakes and change course.

    Frank

You are comparing apples to oranges…. not to mention that changing direction on road costs the world nothing where following the AGW crowd cost the world everything.

We do not independently “know” the world is warming. We know the Earths Climate gors in cycles and has long before man ever stepped foot on the planet.

If I create a model and it gives me a different answer every time it’s a bad model, basic rule of computing… GIGO garbage in = garbage out.

You agree that the models aren’t accurate and how much of a change that’s is going to happen isn’t predicted accurately.

So let me ask you instead of just changing direction on a road.

This is what the Greenies propose based on inaccurate models.

No more modern transportation. No cars, buses, trains, ships, or planes. No electricity except that generated by solar wind and Hydro. Solar energy currently provides less than 0.1 percent, wind power 6.33%, World-wide, about 20% of all electricity is generated by hydropower.

That means 75% of the world’s electricity will be turned off.

Go pull the main breaker in your House and live in it for a week, see if that’s how you want to live. Plus you just became a vegetarian because they ban raising meat for consumption due to flatulence and you can only get local produce and what’s brought in by horse and carriage.

So based on inaccurate models you’re willing to do all that?

  58. You keep spouting this lie that climate models keep on putting out different results. They overwhelmingly don’t. The models have been very accurate.

    https://skepticalscience.com/climate-models.htm

“No more modern transportation. No cars, buses, trains, ships, or planes. No electricity except that generated by solar wind and Hydro. Solar energy currently provides less than 0.1 percent, wind power 6.33%, World-wide, about 20% of all electricity is generated by hydropower.

That means 75% of the world’s electricity will be turned off.”

No it doesn’t. It means we transition that 75% to renewable sources. It isn’t about cutting down on energy use (though efficiency measures are useful both economically and environmentally). It means we turn off fossil fuel electricity generation and replace it with renewable generation.

There would also be a substantial shift to electric vehicles. So if cars, buses, trains etc are electric and electricity is clean then so are the cars, buses and trains. Most likely ships and planes will continue but use would be cut down (by growing stuff more locally that doesn’t need to be shipped over huge distances). What carbon dioxide is then produced by cars and ships etc… would be offset with other measures (mostly tree planting).

  59. *then produced by planes and ships etc…

  60. *then produced by planes and ships etc…
