ATW FRIDAY NIGHT JUKEBOX

By Pete Moore On August 16th, 2019

Because Friday night is Music Night

A groovy number in my opinion, for tonight. Yep, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have covered a Ramones original. It was a live staple for a while. I like it as well. The original is great, but this is very different, and really good. Maybe even better – come at me.

Have fun whatever you’re up to this weekend, except Welsh rugby fans. As always, feel free to share your fav sounds down below –

  1. You got the love I need to see me through.

  2. Speaking of the Ramones Pete, Lemmy wrote R.A.M.O.N.E.S. in tribute to them. Watch this for sheer brilliance:

  3. Superb, and it looks like Lemmy was late getting from the bar to the stage!

  4. This was the best of the Chili Peppers:

  5. I’ve always thought this Chillis’ cover to be superior to the Stevie Wonder original:

But think that this is prolly my favourite Chillis:

Now for a different kind of Red Hot Chillis……

  6. I think that Snow Patrol were at least as good as the Chillies. Here is their greatest hit being given the full treatment at the Royal Albert Hall:

A band I particularly detest Peter, up there with Cold Play and Travis. Whiny, moany, pish the bed music.

But hey, each to their own.

  8. I must be getting old. I got into the Chillis early on, when they released Freaky Styley in 1985. My favourite song of theirs is 30 years old. John Frusciante (guitarist) was 18 when he smashed this one out –

Cheers Paul, I suspected as much 🙂
