  1. Beat to the punch by almost a week:

[…] And it has to be said that the EU’s inaction and relative silence over Spain’s violent and judicial heavy handedness has been a fucking disgrace too.

    Bad luck.

As if you or James Holland give two fucks about what’s happening in Catalunya.

  2. Interesting to see Pete support EU intervention in the domestic affairs of its member states.

  3. Touche

This is Spain being Spain, and that’s all it is.

  4. Seamus –

Mocking EU jihadists is not necessarily to support EU intervention.

  5. There is no mocking in the post. Only arguments condemning the EU for not interfering in the domestic affairs of one of its members.

  6. Yes, being against EU intervention and then castigating the EU for non – intervention. That pretty much is Pete in a nutshell.

  7. Why does everything have to be explained?

    Seamus, Paul –

I’m in favour of the EU staying out of the internal affairs of all the nations of Europe. Couldn’t you tell?

I am mocking EU fundamentalists, the type of people who claim that the EU guarantees our rights and that the EU has kept the peace in Europe.

Not only can it not keep French and Spanish rozzers from smashing skulls on the streets of France and Spain, it pretends that it’s not happening.

  8. Pete

Do you mean the police responding to violent rioting anarchistic mobs ?

  9. I am mocking EU fundamentalists, the type of people who claim that the EU guarantees our rights and that the EU has kept the peace in Europe

But you have exactly the same argument in reverse. You accuse the EU of interfering in domestioc affairs yet berate them when they don’t. Classic Pete Moore inconsistency.

What’s happening in Barca and Paris has happened many, many, many times in Belfast, another part of the EU.

  10. Colm –

    There’s nothing anarchistic about them.

    Paul –

I’m not aware that I’ve berated the EU for not interfering in domestic affairs.

  11. No, you’ve just let James Holland do it for you.

    Sophistry somersaults.

  12. Pete Moore wants the police in the U.K. to come down like a ton of bricks on peaceful climate change protesters but wails about police brutality against petrol bomb hurling Gilet jaunes in France. Very consistent.

  13. No, I want maximum police brutality against economic terrorists, Colm.

  14. Well that includes the Gilet Jaunes then Pete, going around smashing and burning shops and private commercial premises.
