UP THE BANKERS!

By Pete Moore On December 2nd, 2019

@RLong_Bailey

Labour will cut regulated rail fares in England by 33% from Jan 2020 & make rail travel free for those 16 and under. Funding will come from existing budgets drawn from Vehicle Excise Duty. That’s real change. A better world is possible if you vote Labour.

So a low wage shelf-stacker in the north, driving to work in his £400 banger, will be stumping up more to subsidise the commute for bankers and stockbrokers from leafy Surrey into London.

Those posho, privately educated party leaders at the top of Labour. You have to admire their inventive ways to keep the working classes from earning more for themselves.

  1. They mean well but, if this is the case, it’s another attack on rural living.

  2. Rail fares should be subsidized, for a zillion environmental and other reasons.

    Daily commuters aren’t the only rail travelers.

    Plenty of ” bankers ” won’t take the train no matter how cheap they are.

  3. make rail travel free for those 16 and under

    like last night’s factual errors , that doesn’t add up with this:

    subsidise the commute for bankers and stockbrokers from leafy Surrey into London

    why is the Right so afraid of basic maths and economics
