We the People under attack at all levels

By Patrick Van Roy On January 24th, 2020

The ethical advisory arm of the federal judiciary is quietly circulating a draft rule that would ban judges and their clerks from belonging to the Federalist Society, an organization aimed at fostering an originalist interpretation of the Constitution at law schools and through forums and debates across the country.

The proposed rules change is the latest salvo in a campaign to cast the Federalist Society as too political, and thereby politically risky, for judiciary participation. The Wall Street Journal editorial board labeled the proposal “judicial political mischief masked in high sounding rhetoric,” a step that is spurring a backlash among “judges and others” who should denounce it as “undermining legal education in America and perhaps violating the First Amendment right of association.”

Conservative activists put it more bluntly, calling the rules change a transparent attempt to neuter the Federalist Society. The motivation is obvious, these activists say, after the Senate has confirmed a record number of Trump-appointed judges, many of whom are Federalist Society members or have participated in the group’s events.

  1. Sen Marsha Blackburn repeating uncorroborated hearsay assertions against Lt Colonel Vindman

All Trumpers are at war, not with Democrats, but with the truth.

  2. The Washington Post is less credible than even Lt Colonel Vindman….. which is saying a lot.

  3. So she didn’t trade in that twitter lie?

The only sources to trust are Infowars, Levin, Hannity and Limbaugh.

Rush is America’s anchorman, who never lies.

  4. you can try all you want Phantom, but you can’t tie or compare InfoWars to Levin, Hannity and Limbaugh.

It makes you look dumber than usual.

  5. Trump has friendly relations with Alex Jones, Michael Savage, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity Matt Drudge and Rush Limbaugh.

Drudge is friends with Savage and Alex Jones.

Jones, Savage, Hannity and Limbaugh have all pushed conspiracy theories, too many to mention.

All are shades of Trump State Media, tightly linked with the White House.

  6. I’ve not heard Levin state conspiracy theories.

But I’ve heard Savage, Hannity and Limbaugh spin them again and again.

The only difference between those three and Alex Jones is that Inforwars tells huge conspiracy lies every week, while the others may only do it once every month or two.

But they’re all in the same business, of bamboozling the uneducated, keeping them off balance and angry all the time.

  7. name one conspiracy theory promoted by Levin or Limbaugh

  8. Who are these ‘people’ that are allegedly under attack?

  9. I didn’t say that Levin trafficed in conspiracy theories

Limbaugh is the source of endless lies and conspiracy yarns

  11. Federal prosecutors in New York’s Southern District reportedly have a copy of the 2018 recording, which appears to include Trump calling for the removal of then-US ambassador to Ukraine Maria Yovanovitch, in their custody.

Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, former associates of Rudy Giuliani who have been implicated in the Ukraine controversy, are facing campaign-finance charges in the Southern District of New York.

Parnas has been cooperating with House investigators who led the impeachment inquiry, while Fruman has not.

Who are these ‘people’ that are allegedly under attack?

Me personally and millions of others.

The Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation two organizations that I’ve been a lifetime member of for over 30yrs. To put the importance of these organizations in perspective what they mean to me…. You know my feelings on Firearms, yet I have never been a member or had a desire to belong to the NRA. These two I joined for Life.

The primary foundation of both organizations is the Preservation of the Constitution and Constitutional Law.

When the nomination came down to just two people Trump and Cruz and Cruz lost, Trump had a big problem he had insulted, pissed off and created a lot of animosity with those of us that were behind Cruz. The people backing Cruz weren’t just part of the base we were the ones that managed the ground workers in the states. The poll watchers, judges of elections, committeemen, the people who put up the signs and get people to the polls. Both parties have them, and you can’t win without them.

Trump bought our support. We created a list of Judges whose records showed them to be Constitutionalists all his Judicial appointees were to come from that list for our support. He agreed.

This “Ethics Board” wants to BLACKLIST every name on that list.

    That is who’s under attack.

  13. Phantom sad dude….. Politifact really ?

first off you didn’t read the stories you linked to. Everyone one of them state that Limbaugh was NOT the source but commenting on stuff reported on by others like ESPN and even MadiaMatters.

Limbough is the most hated personality in the media, he’s been number 1 for 32 years and not from spinning conspiracy theories.

You defame someone you don’t listen to based on the hearsay an spin of those who hate him, and you lapp it right up…lol

  14. The rotund one is quoted directly

  15. https://www.newsweek.com/rush-limbaugh-claims-mosque-attacks-false-flag-1365260

“There’s an ongoing theory that the shooter himself may in fact be a leftist who writes the manifesto and then goes out and performs the deed purposely to smear his political enemies, knowing he’s going to get shot in the process,” opined Limbaugh, without providing any evidence for his remarks or even a source for these claims. “You know you just can’t — you can’t immediately discount this. The left is this insane, they are this crazy. And then if that’s exactly what the guy is trying to do then he’s hit a home run, because right there on Fox News: ‘Shooter is an admitted white nationalist who hates immigrants.'”

Want to deny that forked tongue porky said this? How much will you pay for an audio tape.

“Trump bought our support. We created a list of Judges whose records showed them to be Constitutionalists all his Judicial appointees were to come from that list for our support. He agreed.” Does that not indicate that the Federalist Society is in fact political? It certainly seems they were used for a political purpose.

  17. NYr the Federalist Society is Political as is the Bar Association and a dozen other organizations that Lawyers and Judges belong to. This is specifically targeting one because it’s conservative.

It’s not a blanket ban it’s targeted, making the very rule itself unconstitutional.

  18. I think any ban of regarding the Federalist Society (or the liberal ACS which is also facing the same issue) is wrong.

  19. agreed Mahons

  20. I’ll have to cut and paste your response…
