MORE GAZANS DEATHS, MEDIA DISINTERESTED..

By ATWadmin On January 30th, 2009

Oh no – there have been even MORE deaths in Gaza but for some reason, the media is not leading with this shocking news. Can anyone figure out why?

“Evidence is emerging of a wave of reprisal attacks and killings inside Gaza that have left dozens dead and more wounded in the wake of Israel’s war. Among the dead are Palestinians suspected of collaborating with the Israeli military. Others include criminals who were among the 600 prisoners to escape from Gaza City’s main jail when it was bombed as the war began. Their attackers are thought to be their victims’ relatives.

During and after the war, there have also been attacks on security officials from Fatah, the bitter rival of Hamas, the Islamist movement in control of the Gaza Strip. One witness told the Guardian how her brother, a Fatah military intelligence officer, was shot three times in the legs in an apparent punishment attack by gunmen from Hamas’s armed wing.”

With all this violence going on, and with Gaza now crawling with journos, how odd that the likes of the BBC have not been rushing to report any of this? Perhaps we need a charity appeal for the Palestinian victims of Palestinian violence? Shall we blame the Jews anyway?

  1. but their such a civilized peace loving people

  2. At the very major risk of being accused of being a pedant of the worst kind, I think you mean the media are uninterested, not disinterested.
    Yes – I am tedious pedant …

  3. In fairness, collaborators are not treated kindly in many places.

  4. Jaz,

    Do you mean pendant??!!!

  5. Jaz:

    "Yes – I am tedious pedant …"

It’s not you whom I find tedious.

  6. no Phantom you mean sunni’s and shiites aren’t treated well by each other anywhere

  7. More ME muslims dead, who cares? The less the better.

  8. Daphne:

    "The less the better."

Jaz! Where are you when your fellow-pedants need you?

  9. As long as they’re killing each other and not innocent Israelis who are actually productive members of the world community, more power to them!

  10. James:

I presume you know for a fact that the Palestian dead are NOT productive members of the world community.

  11. Of course they’re not IB, else they would have emigrated to more productive corners of the world.

I take offense at your suggestion that I need public support for my opinions. This woman has always firmly stood her ground.

  12. Hamas and Fatah are murderers of innocent men, women and children. The only thing they produce is misery and suffering, just like your provos. The fact that they are killing each other is a blessing.

  13. >>Hamas and Fatah are murderers of innocent men, women and children.<<

Well, they could take lessons in that from Israel.

Israel has killed around 400 children over the past weeks, Hamas and Fatah killed none.

  14. "Israel has killed around 400 children over the past weeks", according to who, hamas, the UN and red cross in Gaza who are pretty much the lapdogs of hamas? They’re not prone to manipulation and propaganda are they? Just like your provo reptiles, they’re the masters of media manipulation, the distorting of fact and the use of their own innocents for cover.

  15. Daphne:

"Of course they’re not [productive] IB, else they would have emigrated to more productive corners of the world."

I met two Palestinians in Brooklyn who run a very successful restaurant business. Would that meet your criterion?

"I take offense at your suggestion that I need public support for my opinions."

Huh? I don’t understand this comment. This is the second time you’ve criticised me for no reason ("nasty", remember?).

    Perhaps this time you’ll explain.

  16. >>"Israel has killed around 400 children over the past weeks", according to who, hamas, the UN and red cross in Gaza <<

James, if it were shown, or if Israel admitted, that the UN and Red Cross are correct and that around 400 children were killed by Israeli actions, would that change our mind at all?

  17. Barry

I think Daphne mis-read your comment about fellow pedants sticking together. That’s why she thought you were accusing of her of needing public support for her comments .

  18. Noel

You don’t even need to ask that question.

  19. Daphne – I think IB was making a grammatical point.
As terrorists are divisible strictly speaking you should have written "the fewer the better". If whatever it is you are talking about is divisible then you use fewer, if not then use less.
So you can not say "fewer water", but would say "less water". And since Israel is doing its very best to divide terrorist you should say "fewer terrorists" not "less terrorists".
Please turn to page 63 and complete exercise seven for your homework.
I am, as you can tell, a subscriber to "Picky Fuckers Monthly".

As to James H’s point: No one, not even Israel, is disputing the figures.

  20. Jaz

Yeah I was gonna explain all that to Daphne too, but you beat me too it. Oh well. I’m sure like buses another grammatical error will come along soon to pedantically pick at, (hell I probably made half a dozen in this comment alone).

  21. Colm:

    No, only eight.

  22. I’m getting better then 🙂

  23. Colm:

At least you can take a joke. Unlike some I could mention but won’t.

  24. Barry

Don’t be coy, you mean Daphne don’t you. She was probably in a bad mood and had a few drinks. Best not to rib the Texan firecracker when she’s slammed a few Tequilas.
