More good work by the NYTs

  1. The NYT reporter and YouTube did the right thing and should be thanked.

  2. The NYT has done even better with this:

“WASHINGTON — In Maryland, so many callers flooded a health hotline with questions that the state’s Emergency Management Agency had to issue a warning that “under no circumstances” should any disinfectant be taken to treat the coronavirus. In Washington State, officials urged people not to consume laundry detergent capsules. Across the country on Friday, health professionals sounded the alarm.

Injecting bleach or highly concentrated rubbing alcohol “causes massive organ damage and the blood cells in the body to basically burst,” Dr. Diane P. Calello, the medical director of the New Jersey Poison Information and Education System, said in an interview. “It can definitely be a fatal event.

Even the makers of Clorox and Lysol pleaded with Americans not to inject or ingest their products. The frantic reaction was prompted by President Trump’s suggestion on Thursday at a White House briefing that an “injection inside” the human body with a disinfectant like bleach or isopropyl alcohol could help combat the virus.”

  3. shutting down the advertising of a product that has been used for decades to kill germs and viruses……

Thank you NYr you are the perfect example as usual of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

  4. Peter’s still pushing propaganda…..

  5. No-one could ever accuse you of that Patrick.

  6. You guys Say that nobody reads the New York Times anymore, then you spend the rest of your life complaining about the New York Times every day.

  7. PVR

Trump was raving about UV light and disinfectant Thursday and hotlines across the country were flooded by calls from those who heard Trump. In the situation it is best to restrict information on how people can use or abuse such products. It is a matter of saving Trump supporters from themselves by sticking UV cords up their holes.

  8. Phantom I’ve said it 100 times I read the NYTs that’s why I know how full of crap and lies it is.

As for it being an influence on anything or of even any investigative value it lost that long ago. The NYTs has 2 audiences the rest of the Press and the Politicians. If you follow their subscribership it’s only concentrated in 2 areas. The Greater Metro Regions of NYC and DC.

  9. Look at the letters to the editor That follows many of the articles online

They have an enormous national and international audience

  10. The NYT Remains quite successful

Unlike most newspapers, they have made a very successful transition to the digital platform, Which many people are willing to pay for

Their stock is more than twice what it was five years ago

    https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/NYT

It will be around for a long time to come

  11. we’re in a war against stupidity and the NYT and Youtube have made a good surgical strike

  12. hey the lincoln project are backing me up when i wrote there are two kinds of Americans
    https://twitter.com/ProjectLincoln/status/1253783602451623937

  13. No Kurt, they simply repeat your error.

The New York Times is an international paper with exclent journalists and a great reputation for investigation. It’s influence is profound and it is one of the most credible sources in the world. A liberal bias in the Editorial section undoubtedly. But has a reputation for integrity that some of ATW’s writers will never achieve.

  14. I don’t think that any of these guys reads the New York Times. They may glance at it, with a prejudiced eye, but they don’t read it.

They hate it because the Republicans and the Republican dictator tell them to hate it.

Patrick Has accused the times of lying many times, But has never provided alink to any article where they have lied about anything

This post is a backhanded way of endorsing Trump’s promotion of unscientific quack treatments for the virus, this past Thursday, and several times before that

  15. mahons we’ll have to debate this
ok so what bit didn’t you like in the link to the lincoln project ?
    what bits did you like?
lets try to be precise and maybe discuss the offending phrase(s),
or at least the part which you claim to be an error ..
I know you can’t prove a negative, but where is the error ?

  16. This is the Lincoln Project

    https://lincolnproject.us/

Where does it say that there are two types of Americans?

  17. those who sacrifice and those who demand, its on the twitter clip I provided
looks like neither yourself or mahons bothered to listen to it – all 3 mins of it

    https://twitter.com/ProjectLincoln/status/1253783602451623937

  18. https://lincolnproject.us/news/two-americans/

    Ah now I see

I’m not sure that they are making the exact same Hillary deplorables point That you are making but I see it

And I’m not sure that this type of video is helpful.

  19. I don’t speak Twitter

    I prefer open source links

  20. Trump on a personal level is an appalling character and Presidential figure. I can’t see anything likable about him at all. However,it is possible as Patrick and to a lesser extent Charles from Texas does here, to argue a reason to support the wider general direction of government and policies his Administration follows if you genuinely believe they are better than the Democrats proposals. What is dissapointing is the unwillingness of many Trump supporters to ever even acknowledge obvious calamities and lies such as the ‘injecting dsinfectant’ stupidity.

It is possible to maintain an overall support for Trump – as Patrick here does – while also being willing to condemn him when it is so bloody obvious he has done wrong.

  21. Many of those who want to reopen the economy are economically strapped, frightened, desperate

I am not going to villify those people

Those McVeigh people who showed up at demonstrations with firearms are traitors and terrorists , every one, But they do not represent a broad spectrum of American thought at all

  22. The is no clear division between Trump anti-science supporters and first responders. I have an ER Doctor friend and a couple of nurse friends (at NY hospitals) who support him and will vote for him again. It is too simplistic to suggest some clear divide between the supposed virtuous and those supposedly lacking virtue. Frankly, it is a tactic Trump himself employees.

  23. I will go a bit further

Some of those who want to reopen the economy not only should not be vilified, But they make a good point

We can talk it through, and see which parts of the economy can be reopened and where, and when

  24. Oh and for the record I generally don’t view the videos pressed on us here at ATW from the right, the left or Aberdeen. If I want to see what Tucker Carlson, CNN or the Insane Clown Posse is claiming I just go directly to the source.

  25. I agree Phantom. In my opinion a number of places in upstate and even suburban NY could reopen now with reasonable precautions.

  26. I’ve had arguments With otherwise reasonable people who oppose any reopening of the economy

From people who condemn the likes of Dr Katz without listening to him

Here, Dr Katz on the Maher show this past Friday

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lze-rMYLf2E

  27. Mahons, as with many at ATW, is not a bright man as he himself makes clear. When I am in debate with an opponent, I view everything that he attaches to his case – and that’s where his case is shown as failed, or it changes my opinion.

  28. Both extremes are dangerous and unsustainable. Those who argue for a lifting of the restrictions and a full return to normal commercial and social life for economic and ‘personal freedom’ reasons simply risk a forced return to full restrictions when consequent soaring numbers of new infections and hospital admissions force governments to react, putting everything back to square one and wiping out all the personal and financial sacrifices made so far.

Equally those hardliners who insist we must maintain the strictest lockdowns until the virus is completely defeated or contained are equally unrealistic and damaging in terms of the whole wider crippling consequences such an approach would inevitably take in all area of life. It is obvious that a careful and imaginative way must be found that balances and complements both competing necessities (defeating the virus) and (rebuilding economic and social life) It is the only way forward.

  29. Allan – you don’t engage in debates, you peddle falsehoods.

  30. Those McVeigh people who showed up at demonstrations with firearms are traitors and terrorists , every one, But they do not represent a broad spectrum of American thought at all

You see this is why everything Phantom says about the United States should be immeadiatly dismissed as the babbling of a fool.

The First Amendment and the very cornerstone of America is the PEOPLES RIGHT to Protest the Government for redress of grievances.

If you express rights granted to you by natures creator and enshrined in our Bill of Rights his view is your a traitor and terrorist……

NO sorry FOOL you are the Traitor wanting to deny your fellow countrymen their RIGHTS.

YOU are the problem, and people that think like you.

You really should get your company to transfer you to another country where basic human rights don’t exist.

  31. Patrick

You are wrong on this and Phantom is right. He wasn’t referring to people exercising their right to protest or their free speech guarantees. He was specifically referring to the acts of those who brandished guns openly at the protests – a violent and menacing threat that is damn all to do with first amendment rights.

  32. Colm owning and carrying a Gun is a Constitutional right.

Not one act of violence was recorded at any of these events. So what Acts ?

Oh he’s carrying a gun mommy I’m scared….. that is the babbling of a fool.

There was no violence. The second amendment is the protection of the first Amendment. That is the cornerstone of our society.

  33. Weak men need to appear like strong men. It is part of their weakness. Which is why those that bright guns to that protest were weak. It was an unnecessary attempt to appear tough. Having the right to do something doesn’t mean you have to exercise that right in all situations

  34. Patrick

Why does someone at a peaceful legal protest need to openly carry and display a gun ?

PS – Owing arms may be a Constitutional right. Open display in public is not.

  35. Colm – they broke no law in having the guns on them, except the law of intelligence.

  36. No determined men and woman protested peacefully carrying the reminders for those inflicting Tyranny that if they continue down this road of Tyranny the American people will not stand for it.

If you threaten and lock people up for expressing their rights of free speech and free assembly their will be consequences. This is NOT a threat or an implied threat.

The threat comes from the Democrats Tyranny and suppression of our rights. The Government threatened the people with a loss of freedom for executing their 1st amendment rights. The protestors called their bluff.

If you are going to act like Tyrants the people will resist and have the means to do so.

  37. Open display in public is not.

The majority of the States have what are called open carry Laws Colm. It is perfectly legal and preferred that you carry your firearm openly. You only need a carry permit if you are concealing the fact that you are armed.

In Pennsylvania I can carry my Rifle or Handgun openly and it’s perfectly legal. If I hide the fact that I am armed I need a License (which I have).

  38. The armed protesters were expressing their intention to murder public officials and others if they don’t get their way.

This lot is not popular in Michigan, they are not popular in the United States

    https://www.politicususa.com/2020/04/22/whitmer-trump-michigan-poll.html

They are cop killers in waiting

  39. Why does someone at a peaceful legal protest need to openly carry and display a gun ?

To remind Tyrants that forcing compliance will meet an armed resistance. We are not British, Russian, Chinese or like any other people in the world.

  41. Patrick

I don’t think you know the first thing about the state of Michigan, or the US

The majority of people in that state support the governor.

    https://www.newsweek.com/majority-michigan-residents-support-governor-whitmers-coronavirus-response-despite-anti-lockdown-1499011

  42. They were simply showing they would defend their Constitutional Rights.

there’s that damn pesky document again.

  43. Patrick

Yes I know many States have open carry laws. My only point is that is not a Constitutional right, it is a matter of individual States legislative rights.

However my main point is that although you may support these gun carrying individuals 1st amendment rights and how they exercise them it is equally Phantom’s right as an American to exercise his first amendment opinion of them as he sees fit. He is no less American than you for doing so.

  44. Timothy McVeigh Thought that he he Was acting constitutionally as well

The armed protesters in Michigan are McVeigh’s people, not George Washington’s

  45. They are faggots in the dismissive sense of that word. Clinging to guns and pretending they are warding off pretend tyrants.

  46. Among the bad things done by these worthless sons of bitches is that they tarnish those who air grievances that may be legitimate

  47. edumication for Mahons

Latest numbers on Michigan gun ownership

A third of American adults own at least one gun, according to a 2013 survey, and collectively they own an estimated 357 million firearms — more guns than the American population. In recent years, the number of guns has increased; U.S. gunmakers manufactured 5.6 million guns in 2009 compared to 10.9 million in 2013, in what some experts call “the Obama effect.” Those numbers have dropped in recent months, in the wake of Donald Trump’s election to president. This slideshow focuses on data for Michigan.

Michigan tied for 31st in gun ownership

An estimated 29 percent of Michigan adults owned a gun in October 2013, according to a study in the July 2015 edition of Injury Prevention Journal. That ties Michigan with Vermont for 31st among the 50 states in gun ownership. Estimates of gun ownership were based on an October 2013 survey of 4,000 Americans. This chart shows the study results, although only some state names are shown. Alaska had the highest rate of gun ownership at 62% and Delaware the lowest at 5%.

9.96 million population that means over 330,000 gun owners. a third of the states population.

  48. I’ll assume you intentionally mispelled education. Gun ownership is fine. The need to bring them to a peaceful really demonstrates a want in a person and an unhealthy fetish.

  49. No Colm the constitution says the right to bear arms not just own them. Those state Laws are constantly under attack as unconstitutional in the courts.

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution protects the individual right to keep and bear arms. [a] It was ratified on December 15, 1791 as part of the Bill of Rights.

NOTICE it say keep and bear……..

  50. Mahons read the 2nd Amendment.

  51. Patrick – you suffer from the same fetish.

  52. Just don’t read the “well regulated militia” part

The Patrick’s of This world really hate those words

  53. Trump has done serious damage to his image within the country and internationally, By his promotion of snake oil and miracle cures at the press conferences

There is now talk that he will stop having those press conferences.

I suppose this would be good, at least you wouldn’t have the so-called leader of the free world saying idiotic things to a global audience

    https://www.newsweek.com/trump-coronavirus-briefings-1500256

  54. Brad Pitt as Dr. Fauci was hysterical on SNL.

  55. https://youtu.be/uW56CL0pk0g

  56. No unlike you Phantom I understand those words…..

Please lay out the history of why they were included….. I can’t wait to see what you come up with…. oh wait I’ll lay money you won’t even bother, as usual.

  57. Trump has done serious damage to his image within the country

LMAO….. in 191 days we shall see who has been damaged.

  58. No determined men and woman protested peacefully carrying the reminders for those inflicting Tyranny that if they continue down this road of Tyranny the American people will not stand for it.

Yes, it’s a constitutional right but why the need for them at a peaceful protest? If I were to go to a peaceful protest with an axe how would it be construed? I’d suggest that any reasonable person would interpret bringing weapons to such an assembly as a threat and if you were being honest I think you would too.

But apart from that it’s also fucking idiotic ‘ the American people will not stand for it?’ What good is a semi auto scary looking military style long barreled Bushwhacker going to do against a drone with a hellfire missile?

It’s nothing more over compensating big dickism. Such people really need a big cup of wise the fuck up.

  59. These cop killers are not likely to wise up anytime soon

But there are only so many of them

  60. By the way, I stumbled upon this article from a Taiwan based English language newspaper on February 7

They were making sharp, and formed criticism of the Chinese information from that earliest day

I do not remember hearing reporting like this From major US media at the time, and I was not hearing questions like this from major US politicians at that time, any of them

Maybe we should listen to Taiwan a little bit

    https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/3871783

  61. Phantom.

    Great article.

    Many thanks.

If close to the truth, and I personally have absolutely no arguments against the report..

The WHO need to be investigated with immediate effect.

  62. Of course, nothing to see here, it’s a regular occurrence, it happens all the time.

    Who put that window there?

Top Russian doctor falls out of 5th floor window during conference call to bosses complaining about lack of PPE for medics
Dr Yelena Nepomnyashchaya, 47, plunged 50ft from a hospital in Siberia, Russia
She was opposing the treatment of coronavirus patients due to a lack of PPE
After falling from the fifth floor she is fighting for her life in intensive care

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8258591/Top-Russian-doctor-falls-5th-floor-window-conference-lack-PPE-medics.html

  63. Seems like loose tongues leads to loose window sills in Russia 🙂

  64. “We are not British, Russian, Chinese or like any other people in the world.”

Clearly! Since when is it “tyranny” to try and save some sorry asses from disease?

We don’t allow mentally ill people to harm themselves, so why allow Trumpers to gather and spread the virus further?

Although, do they still think it’s a hoax, or are they now all gargling drain cleaner? Hard to keep up!

  65. WASHINGTON — President Trump’s erratic handling of the coronavirus outbreak, the worsening economy and a cascade of ominous public and private polling have Republicans increasingly nervous that they are at risk of losing the presidency and the Senate if Mr. Trump does not put the nation on a radically improved course

    – –

Perhaps most significantly, Mr. Trump’s single best advantage as an incumbent — his access to the bully pulpit — has effectively become a platform for self-sabotage

His daily news briefings on the coronavirus outbreak are inflicting grave damage on his political standing, Republicans believe, and his recent remarks about combating the virus with sunlight and disinfectant were a breaking point for a number of senior party officials

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/25/us/politics/trump-election-briefings.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage

  66. The party leaders have been drinking the Kool-aid, why not the disinfectants?

  67. mahons I sure would like to meet those two Nurses who vote Trump and ask them how these reconcile the idiocy of trumps during this pandemic and their roles as nurses in very challenging environments .. are they entirely happy with admins response ?

    meanwhile :

Representative Tom Cole, Republican of Oklahoma, said the president had to change his tone and offer more than a campaign of grievance.

“You got to have some hope to sell people,” Mr. Cole said. “But Trump usually sells anger, division and ‘we’re the victim.’”

  68. I don’t think they are entirely happy with Trump but they are disgusted by Democrats like Cuomo who took such a triumphal stance on his infanticide law. Trump supporters are not all stupid or backward, just as his opponents are not all smart or full of virtue. The strategy is to persuade those of his supporters not to vote for him. You don’t get there by calling them all idiots.

  69. //they broke no law in having the guns//

Is it perfectly legal to use guns in a threatening way in public?

  70. mahons did you think that clip on lincoln was calling people idiots?

  71. Slavery used to be legal too, as was dueling.

That isn’t the point of anything.

The wannabee cop killers who carried guns to a ” peaceful ” rally are to be condemned by any decent person.

The rally was not peaceful if it was conducted at gunpoint BTW.

  72. Perhaps most significantly, Mr. Trump’s single best advantage as an incumbent — his access to the bully pulpit — has effectively become a platform for self-sabotage

That’s a pretty astute observation. The savvy Republicans know that Trump’s public lunacy appeals to only a minority of hard care cultists and could well be an own goal liability to the wider GOP.

  73. would like to hear pats case as to why he thinks Trump will win again in Nov
or indeed Charles, does the faithful think the press conferences are helping?
numbers , how are the numbers looking ?

  74. Social distancing going well in Chicago then..

Shocking video shows 1,000 people drinking and dancing in defiance of social distancing orders at massive party in Chicago

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8258795/1-000-people-ignore-social-distancing-Chicago-party.html

It must be a black ting & ting, for real..innit.

    Oh bejabbers, don’t mention Trump.

It gets the gammons all worked up.

    😏

  76. Oh my days.

    Imagine if Trump wins again?

Oh the fun that would be had.

Those liberal heads would explode in gammon rage..

    😀

  77. It would be foolish and self centred to believe that Trump will lose the next election and to assume his car crash behaviour and personality must ensure he cannot win. He won in 2016 without a different personality and he is not different now. Biden and the Democrats have to win this election. Assuming that an embarrassed America will turn from Trump is a lazy and uncertain preposition. The large majority of Republican supporters will vote for him because they wont want a Democrat presidency and many fans of Trump will stick with him because they want to. It wont be a cakewalk to defeat him.

  78. Noel – in Michigan I don’t believe there is a law Preventing the carrying of the type of guns those imbeciles carried. Had they pointed or discharged them they mighthave an issue.

    Kurt – yes.

  79. //He won in 2016 without a different personality//

I know what you mean, but the true depts of his ignorance and incompetence weren’t fully known then. A lot of people thought he would drain the swamp and other bullshit.
Maybe most thought he would only try to grab women by the pussy, not that he would try to grab all of America by the balls.

Most of his supporters may not have been deterred, but he won by a thin majority and most will not be enough this time.

//It must be a black ting & ting, for real..innit.//

Harri, you dear old racist, you. If you’d let the link continue, you’d have seen, probably did see, another party where very white people – most likely British or Aussies – were also partying close up.
But no, it’s all a “black ting & ting”.

  80. The Democrats are bad.

Trump is worse. Insane, ignorant, quarrelsome, without any organizational or leadership qualities.

    That is our choice.

Notice none of the local Trump-thumpers have directly commented on his promotion of highly dangerous miracle cures this past Thursday.

They’re the real Americans. Everyone else is a communist, other than them.

  81. “Very white people”

    Noel

    You dear old racist, you.

    😉

  82. // in Michigan I don’t believe there is a law Preventing the carrying of the type of guns those imbeciles carried//

I meant carrying them as a threat. (which even Patrick admitted)
There’s a huge difference between innocently carrying a gun and carrying one solely to demonstrate a willingness to use if if you don’t get your way.

  83. In 2016. people bought the line about him being some sort of a good executive who would be good for the economy.

How’s that economy looking now, Trumpers?

Please blame this on Obama, on Barney Frank, on the Community Reinvestment Act, any of the drivel and nonsense that you were saying in 2010 and later. Those arguments made no sense then, maybe someone will believe it now.

You’d get some credit if you admitted that your guy f** up when he does, just once.

  84. I see we’ve added someone new or old or whatever…… welcome Howard Marx.

  85. nice noel, caught out again harri
oh dear its that thinking thing again isn’t it dearest Harold
i guess why think, when its much more fun being a reactionary gammon hey
yeah we’re ontya, always have been 😉

  86. How’s that economy looking now, Trumpers?

    How’s the worlds economy looking?

  87. i guess why think, when its much more fun being a reactionary gammon

    Just don’t mention Trump.

The liberal gammons blood pressure will rise beyond evaporation point.

    😀

  88. And remember now, according to the gammon Kurt.

There are only two types of Americans?

    What a clown.

    😀

  89. The world economy looks very bad.

There is the whiff of 2007-2008 in the air.

    But this could be worse.

  90. Phantom.

Would you say the current state of the worlds economy, is Trump’s fault?

    Or the Chinese?

  91. Please, please, please, let Trump win again.

The entertainment value witnessing those purple faced liberal gammons heads explode, would be absolute comedy gold.

    😁

  92. Trump has made it worse in the US by failure to organize a good national response to the crisis, and by shockingly inept conduct generally on the national stage. No honest person denies that.

But the number one problem in the world is this virus and the root cause of it is the Chinese communist party dictatorship that rules China.

One would hope that the world will confront China on this. China and President Xi owns this pig.

  93. GAMMON TENDENCY’S
    DICKENSIAN ROOTS

    https://order-order.com/2018/05/15/gammon-tendencys-dickensian-roots/

    😁

  94. This has been the best what is it 3 months now 5 ?

The Chicoms caused a panic over a Flu and sorry gentleman that’s all it is…. a Flu, and I’m higher risk than any of you. I am immunocompromised. It is a new Flu but a flu none the less. And if 17,671 people died in Montana NYC wouldn’t close. They’d hold a moment of silence and continue with their work.

Over the last 5 months the Democrat Party has destroyed itself and in 192 days that will be proven. They armed their attack Trump Machine with the virus and let loose. What they refuse to see is how badly it has blown up in their face.

If the death rate of this disease lived up to it’s fear level it would have destroyed Trump, but even mother nature won’t cooperate with you… lol. The mistake was 2 fold, they panicked because of the chineses behavior and the outbreaks location it could have been a weapon and the chicoms were in complete cover mode. The main thing that screwed both the press and the dems though was their love of “Models” lmao friggin pack of maroons. Projection models are shit. They are what if calculations based on garbage. and Peter that goes especially true for the climate models….

Add to that the over reach of every democrat governor and they’ve created a ball of resentment that isn’t going away and each day people are held back from work it grows. Whether you like it, the scientists, or the press like it. The people have weighed the risk based on the lack of piles of bodies and are willing to take their chances.

Now the protests are a joke, you call them intimidation while we laugh because we know there will be no violence unless the protestors are attacked and even the most insane liberal governor in the country is not going to order the police or national guard to round up armed protestors. It makes for very bad news coverage, especially in an election year.

  95. Liberal gammons. Take the village idiot gammon Kurt as a prime example

    “I ham what I ham”

    😁

Okay, I will collect me hat & coat on the way out..

  96. China and Xi own this, particularly with their misleading messages of the seriousness of it however Trump has been similarly guilty with his ‘only a flu’ ‘not an epidemic’ ‘be over by April’ ‘die away in hotter weather’ ‘disinfectant injections’ etc denial.

China should be castigated for their actions as should Trump for his at the very least incompetent recklessness.

  97. Trump has harmed the US.

China has harmed the world. China should pay reparations to all the countries impacted by this.

  98. Paul

Sitting here in rural Hertfordshire, the same as you, being cooped up for what seems like an eternity, I personally have no interest in Trump, I lay no blame with Trump for the current position I find myself and my family are having to endure.

The same I assume applies to Spain, or The Island of Ireland.

Trump can waffle all he wants, the blame lies entirely with China on this one.

  117. It’s a flu, and it would have been all over if it had been left alone. The infection rates are now coming together from random testing, and these are 40 times previous estimates thus meaning that the mortality rates are those of flu. However, a big cover-up is on-going:

White House Reporter and Photographer discuss shocking #Coronavirus study that puts the U.S. death rate “right in line with the flu.” See how mainstream spun the story.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=402&v=6S9YD65I9cw&feature=emb_logo

  118. Actually, if one good positive thing has come from the Chinese Wuhan level-4 lab dangerous pathogens virus, is normal flu has been eradicated in one foul swoop.

  119. Of great concern is……

    https://off-guardian.org/2020/04/20/coronavirus-lockdown-and-what-you-are-not-being-told-part-2/

Another, perhaps even more alarming possibility has arisen. While heart disease accounts for 14% of C19 comorbidities, reported deaths from heart disease have mysteriously dropped by the corresponding amount during the same period. This clearly indicates that patients dying from other causes, such as heart failure, are being recorded, and certainly reported by the MSM, as dying from C19.

This illustrates a far more complex picture than we have been given to believe. Why have the State and the MSM made so many alarming claims about people dying from C19 when the evidence supporting those claims is, at best, questionable?

On the March 30th the MSM reported that the UK State had instructed the ONS to change the way they record C19 deaths. Explaining the change to recording “mentions” of COVID 19 an unnamed spokesperson for the ONS said:

It will be based on mentions of Covid-19 on death certificates. It will include suspected cases of Covid-19 where someone has not been tested positive for Covid-19.”

This habit of states deciding to change the C19 mortality data, by adding in people who are assumed to have died from it, appears to be a global policy. The China CDC did the same and the U.S have just added a significant number to their statistics.

In every case the revision increases and never decreases the fatality statistics. Why do states around the world feel the need to do this? Is it because they are concerned about statistical rigour or are they more concerned about justifying their lockdown regimes?

Having observed the ‘lockdown’, it is clear that the state has little to worry about as concerns the vaibility of this and any future lockdown. For so many people, it is the most exciting thing that has happened in their lives. They’re loving it

  145. Yes, entirely harmful.

I would welcome more comments from the new person, and from those here who don’t comment often.

I believe that is usually the case that there are many blog readers who never or rarely
comment. This site would have some such readers

  146. Matt Drudge has “ turned against “ Trump

    ( He’s no longer blindly supportive )

    https://www.stamfordadvocate.com/entertainment/article/Drudge-draws-Trump-s-ire-in-split-between-15214006.php

  147. Is the general consensus that Trump is now genuinely being harmed amongst any element of those that voted for him in 2016 ?

  148. whatever you guys, me and colm aren’t the ones swearing , throwing toys out the pram

    hey ho

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/27/opinion/coronavirus-trump-presidents.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage

  149. Colm

I don’t know about general consensus – guys like Patrick will support Trump no matter what. He will never call out the torches and pitchforks, ever.

But there are reports of deep concern among leading Republicans that Trump is harming his own image terribly with his erratic performances in the daily press conferences. The polls are bad and will get worse. Biden appears well ahead now in Pennsylvania and in Michigan.

And the US economy is in terrible shape, with no recovery in sight. And there is nothing more important that the economy in a presidential election year.

  150. Kurt think about it…….. how many times have been thrown off this site……. How many different names Percy ?

Don’t you think that even though Hari is just as wrong as you that it will be you who gets blown off if not both of you ?

You need to take a deep breath my friend and let it go, as does Hari.

  151. read some of those reports, looked for whether they were just anonymous sources
but they weren’t , some republicans put their names forward
which have to admit is a mighty brave thing t do in this climate
where they will likely be targetted by Trump as Drudge was on twitter
that is Trumps MO to target anyone who is critical of him ..

His days in the WH are lonely , watches TV, eats burgers, turns up at noon
doesn’t read briefings and when he was on the lecturn, he doesn’t read notes
and prepare, just brings a sharpie and reads off the cuff
totally unprofessional .. and yes growing voices are more alarming
BUT we need names .. and this won’t be easy
its one thing briefing newspapers in private, another in public

  152. Those RINO’s Phantom will only damage themselves for buying the press’s phoney spin. In spite of what you’re reading in the press and the fake polls Trumps popularity has grown not receded.

And this latest attack using the virus has really done more damage to the dems and the press than anyone else. They are calling this whole thing wrong, and they aren’t going to see how bad until the election.

  153. pat i hear ya
just you won’t find me using that kinda language
    its dropped 🙂

I’m here for the politics .. not the personals
but i do have my obessive fans , can’t stop that eh ..

  154. Fox News ( ex Hannity ) and Matt Drudge are RINOs?

    The polls are fake news?

The election is coming into view now, and the economy will get worse before it gets better; recovery I think will be slow.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/pa/pennsylvania_trump_vs_biden-6861.html

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/mi/michigan_trump_vs_biden-6761.html

  155. I have just googled nd and looked at several different sites with the latest numbers on Trump’s poll ratings. The general trend seems to be that there was a brief uptick at the start of the crisis in late March when the nation began to react to the national emergency but now the figures are falling albeit not by a great deal. That seems to be the honest analysis of his current popularity. A small fall in popularity but not a collapse.

  156. When the management at Fox changed they changed who did their polling they hired the same company that does the polling for CNN & MSNBC.

as for Hannity what he’s saying I wouldn’t know I don’t listen or watch him and Drudge hasn’t written an article in years.

  157. Colm

National polls mean nothing. You need to look at state by state, mainly on the swing states, like PA and MI. See above. Those are sizable margins.

  158. Drudge’s model has never been to write articles.

He has always been an aggregator, who copies the work of others, only.

  159. this is where i go for the trends, tell me more than polls as they span a larger range of time
its not red/blue here for gop/dems
its red as disapproval and blue as approval
Trump doing well in Alabama and Wyoming
but the number have dropped considerably in states he won
looks bad for Trump m very bad
some pundits think its gone as Biden has 3 of 5 swing states

    https://morningconsult.com/tracking-trump-2/

Drudge’s model has never been to write articles.

He has always been an aggregator, who copies the work of others, only.

Then how can you cite him as saying Trump is fading…… the articles he posts say it because that’s the spin in the press so of course the report reflects that””” which is my point.

    I miss Matt’s radio show….

  161. I never said that he said that

He chooses to emphasize certain articles, and that emphasis has changed. This is a political decision that he has made in light of Trump’s bad performance.

  162. ahhh so it that you assume then…..

If the last Presidential election didn’t prove how bad the polls are to you nothing will.

Same rule as models. GIGO…. garbage in garbage out

  163. Trump supporters know what he is like and they don’t care. A substantial majority of them wont budge . Biden will have to do 2 things. Energise more Democrat leaning people to actually vote to a greater extent than Hilary could manage and also to persuade the floating voters who don’t like Trump to actively put their cross against Biden’s name.

  164. trends and tracking are much more reliable pat
Trump is double figures down as a min in ALL states
the blue states he’s obv down, as much as 35 points as you’d expect
but its the red states that matter as they vote for Trump
looks like a landslide to Biden
but do share Trumps path to victory
what states does he need to win in 2020? and how is he doing in those swing states ?

  165. The last ( national ) polls were actually correct…Hillary won the vote of the people by a lot.

Trump eked out tiny margins in a few states, that enabled him to win anyway.

  166. Biden is a flawed candidate, and he could pick some idiot like Elizabeth Warren as VP candidate

He could screw this up big time.

  167. it will be a women for sure phantom
I put a lil bet on Kamala Harris
she had the expertise to prosecute and indict
and she’s a women of colour as they say, to reflect diverse population
    i think she’s 7/4 , no just checked 15/8
I make all my lil wins from small political bets, easier to read
than a Nag from Mashville who might be over-fed on the day , it happens

  168. Kamala Harris is disgusting. She accussed Biden of being racist. She should go to hell and stay there.

And she will attract California, which is in the bag any way, does nothing for the campaign

The smart choice is Klobuchar, if you have to go with a chick candidate for PC reasons

  169. The pressure within the party to pick an African-American VP will by significant. But the two most mentioned (Harris and Adams) would be disasters.

  170. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2019/06/27/kamala_harris_vs_joe_biden_for_opposing_federal_bussing_that_little_girl_was_me.html

Kamala Harris can drop dead next Tuesday after what she pulled.

Some of us don’t forget things like that.

  171. Is it a certainty that he will choose a woman ?

  172. Abrams

Stacey Abrams never had a big job, has never run anything, she should not even be in the conversation.

Like Beto, she came close. Big deal. I came close to winning the lotto five years ago, does not make me rich today.

  173. Colm

He has committed to selecting a woman. He said it during a debate.

He put himself in a box, the jerk.

  174. Klobuchar gives you a non-trendy / non MSNBC type who can speak to farmers and blue collar workers from the rustbelt.

  175. campaign mode you’re allowed to hit hard phantom
methinks you doth protest to much
hshe triggers you like mcCain triggers pat

reckon gotta be a she colm don’t you?
I really like her precision that KH and her questions in committees
    first class mind, great prosecutor
and the world will need her to go after the likes of Rudy , not as revenge.

but there is much dirt and felonies they have committed
USA need to turn a page, these people have to go to jail
we’re a nation and world of LAWS as pat keenly reminds us ..

saving USA ass from the likes of Russia will take high profile cases
lots of work to do rebuilding alliances, from the worst president EVER . Trunk
restoring faith in intel services, saving the planet
Biden will be very busy so he had better delegate alot of this stuff
and have great team .. Maybe KH as AG if not running mate .

cricky am more involved in USA politics than UK
we got nothing to talk about bar the next election
and the Brexit stuff i just stay out of that – its a nightmare

  176. That Trump’s base hasn’t changed since 2016 is neither here than there. He won by a small margin – some experts say the race was decided by less than 100,000 votes in just a few counties in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan – and he will need to draw in much more than his base to win this time.

It all depends on whether Biden can persuade these industrial states of his competence and sincerety – a difficult task in the months after Corona has undermined the economy and many blue-collar workers will have lost or live in fear of losing their jobs.

  177. I don’t forgive Trump for the way he campaigned, and I don’t forgive Kamaala Harris for what she tried with Biden.

That is part of her permanent record.

You may endorse such conduct, you should endorse Trump then. She and Trump are of similar moral stature – vermin.

  178. oh dear phantom, its a slippery slope referring to others as vermin
Hitler used that one to refer to jews, wind it in man have some self-respect !

  179. Biden may well have committed himself to selecting a woman candidate for VP but we need to bear in mind we live in an age of gender fluidity. If the current female top Democrats don’t come up to scratch he can still keep his promise and choose a male candidate, who henceforth will simply identify as a woman 🙂

  180. Trump campaigned to match our modern culture and environment tapping into the anger on both sides, and Hillary lost in the most epic of electoral landslides.

  181. and choose a male candidate, who henceforth will simply identify as a woman 🙂

    Beto

  182. !!

  183. Betty O Rourke 🙂

  184. Abrams, not Adams. No serious person could suggest she is qualified. Biden would hand the election to Trump if he picked her.

  185. Biden already handed the election to Trump by being the candidate.

  186. what’s the path to victory then pat lay it out bro, if its so easy
asked ya this one 3rd time now, funny how you keep ducking an obvious opportunity to have yourself a good old chuckle

ahh maybe you’re bluffing , haha that’s it ! gotcha

  187. How many people would be alive today if the US had a competent president when the virus was first known in China? Two months were lost while Trump was joking around about the virus. Millions were flying into the country and never tested. Advance provision of critical supplies was not even considered. The US was mislead by a president who suggests injecting disinfectant. As more and more people have loved ones and friends die needlessly they will ask why the nation endured massive tragedy when it had advantages few other nations have except no competent leader.

In November will you be better off that four years before? No. You will be mourning those who needlessly died, and you will be economically poorer.
