  1. information you don’t want to to hear…… lol

  2. How about, for those who are a bit more time limited, you make an argument instead of yet another video?

  3. Boring loudmouth politician whinges at the ‘fake’ media – “they are so unfair to me waah waah waaa ” we’ve heard it all before.

  4. That’s well said by the governor. It’s noted that he is criticised for doing a good job while the media kisses Cuomo’s arse for killing thousands of elderly New Yorkers.

I do apologize that this is not suited for your handicap. I was unaware that you were deaf and blind. How does your interface deliver the content to you….. ? Could Helen Keller use it, or is it tailored to your specific Handicap ? Is it the old telephone to brail setup ?

In today’s modern society the consumer of Information prefers to hear/see/witness the actual statements delivered in context from the actual source of the information.

I am sure however if you describe your handicap in more detail I can find a suitable app to apply to the post to make it adaptable to your special need requirements.

  6. So Seamus answer the question…….

My handicap (lovely word by the way) is that I like to read, and don’t like listening to propoganda. And considering all of your videos are nothing more than propoganda you can understand my dislike of them. I have neither the time or inclination to indulge.

If you want to make an argument then make an argument. If you are not engaged enough to make that argument yourself then say so. If you can’t make up an argument yourself then say so. But the continued posting of propoganda videos simply makes it clear that you have no desire to think for yourself.

  8. I always take the view that when a politician or any figure of public authority regardless of political affiliation whinges that the media is unfair or fake or not reporting in a way that they would like them too, then that is the best indicator that the media is doing its job properly. The news media isn’t there to be a PR arm of government or authority.

Although you have to admit that some media are vehemently anti-Trump to an extent that makes them look ridiculous; they don’t try to report fairly and seem to see their job as telling the public how bad Trump is. I can’t bear to watch several commentators never-ending phoney dismay when they tell us po-faced about Trump’s latest escapade.

CNN for example has for the past few years been telling its listeners/readers that the past week has been the worst week/a terribly week for Trump. They repeated this every week. Now, in election year and after Trump apparently having several years of going from one worst week to the next, they are suddenly saying he has a good chance of winning in November.

There are a lot of Comical Amis on both sides.

The president is lying more than any other politician has lied, he is acting like an erratic imbecile, He has completely screwed the pooch in the response to a lethal virus. Etc.

I think that we are some of the media are wrong is not that they Comment on all of this. But where they comment So much upon it that they Don’t talk about other things,

Trump actually is as bad As CNN and MSNBC says. Almost all of their news and editorial comment about him is entirely true

But they talk about him so much that they fail to cover much important news about the United States, and they hardly report foreign.news at all

This is part of my larger criticism of American news channels, all of them

  11. Noel

Yes, I should have added the caveat that obviously there will be examples of where Media bias and unfairness happens and it is more believable when such biases are highlighted by genuine independent neutral sources. In general though, politicians are more likely to notice reporting that they think is unfair because in their own minds, their behaviour, policies, and attitudes are good and right and if the media don’t reflect that its only because they are unfair. Both politicians and their supporters rarely see genuine ‘neutrality’ in media reporting. They usually only see a comparison with their own ‘truth’ – which means that unless a particular media organsiation acts as a propaganda arm with the same political leaning as them, they will only see unfair bias.

  12. The most ” neutral ” cable news channel here is actually BBC World.

CNN and MSNBC are openly anti Trump, Fox News / Newsmax / OAN are openly pro Trump. Yes, there are three pro Trump cable TV news channels.

BBC World has a focus on world issues, not only trivia like the US primary elections, and they are fairer to various US factions in their political reporting than any US channel is.

  13. That may be the case Phantom but I bet there are many Trump supporters who if the watched BBC world coverage of Trump would come away claiming and genuinely believing it was biased and hostile to Trump, and Democrat activists would watch the same footage and claim it was being too reverential to Trump. Bias like Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  14. There are such things as facts.

When the president says things like

Lysol in the body might cure coronovirus

( MSNBC reporter ) Joe Scarborough may have murdered a young girl years ago. Rafael Cruz may have been involved in the JFK assassination.

And a million more – these are objectively idiotic things for him to say. And any media that presents these as reasonable things to say, or that simply doesn’t mention them, is guilty of grave journalistic malpractice.

Sane people don’t say things like that, Colm. Obama, GW Bush, Clinton, Bush One, Reagan, they didn’t say vicious and insane things like that. Idi Amin is the president. It’s not wrong to notice that.

  15. All of that’s correct, Phantom. But the biggest political problem in the US at the moment is the complete polarisation of opinion there, where many on both sides actually value something only by its capacity to annoy the other side, even if it’s bad news for them personally. Far too few even try to be fair.

Forget Trump; he’ll be gone sometime. This mess is something that started long before him and looks like it will outlast him. And it’s being continued and aggravated by media like CNN (I won’t talk about the absolute goons on the other side). America needs a fair and objective media, that will point out the endless failings and absurdities in this administration, but also fairly report on any good things it may have done, as well as on any failings of the other side.

I don’t know if any such organ exists; in fact, the situation is so bad that there’s probably no market for balance any more. Everyone wants to hear their own propaganda. An extremely unhealthy situation.

I was looking at Irish politics, the situation in Holland, Germany, Australia etc. (leave Britain out of it for the moment, as there’s practically no opposition there now). It’s incredible how sober and reasonable and business-like they all get along with each other in those places, after you’ve been looking at US politics for a while. We all love and admire the US, but it’s political and media situation is a complete disgrace in the eyes of the world.

I think that you actually subscribe to the NY Times.

Do you find it’s news reporting to be unfair to Trump? If so how? ( Unlike Patrick, you actually read it and can give an example )

I think that the news pages of the NYT and WP are generallyh fair, that they are very different that state media Hannity or CNN/MSNBC where the prime time shows give you 60 minute screeds of why Trump is great or why he is the devil.

  17. My handicap (lovely word by the way) is that I like to read, and don’t like listening to propoganda. And considering all of your videos are nothing more than propoganda you can understand my dislike of them. I have neither the time or inclination to indulge.

    Pompous bull

That my friend is your problem….. but not your alone.

Propaganda is bullshit. You and and the others label anything outside your little bubble propaganda. If it’s not from the BBC, NYT’s, WaPo… it’s Propaganda…. when just the opposit is true.

When I post a clip like the one above it is to expand your base of information which is in dire need of expansion.

The Governor of Florida opened his State before any others. The “Press” and the Democrats accused him of wanting to kill people. Yet as he explained in the clip above Florida did not turn into the Deathcamp like NYC or Italy. It has the LOWEST death rate.

But information and FACTS burst all your little bubbles….. so feel free stay ignorant and dismiss everything that shows you wrong as PROPAGANDA.

  18. The usual no research error filled hogwash

Florida does not have the lowest death rate. Many states, even California, are lower than Florida in death rate

Florida is No. 9 in virus rate per capita. That’s not the best, Patrick.

  19. “The Governor of Florida opened his State before any others. The “Press” and the Democrats accused him of wanting to kill people. Yet as he explained in the clip above Florida did not turn into the Deathcamp like NYC or Italy. It has the LOWEST death rate.”

Well firstly it doesn’t. It has the 11th most deaths, and the 27th highest number of deaths per capita. Better than New York but still definitely not lowest.

And there are a whole host of reasons that Florida is fairing better than New York. Start with population density. The population density of New York City is 27,751 per square mile. Even Miami is half of that. 65% of Floridians own their own house (most of the single occupancy dwellings). In New York City that is about 33%, with most people living in multiple occupancy dwellings like projects or apartments.

80 percent of people in Florida commuted alone in their car. That number in New York City is 23%.

There is also some argument that heat and humidity have an impact on the spreadability of the virus, though the extend of that isn’t truly known.

It is also not true that Florida opened before any others. The biggest Florida population centres only reopened this week. So we still don’t know the full impact of the Governor’s decision. The argument however also doesn’t hold up to the fact that California, which as introduced a far more stringent lockdown, and did so very early, has fewer deaths per capita than Florida.

“But information and FACTS burst all your little bubbles….. so feel free stay ignorant and dismiss everything that shows you wrong as PROPAGANDA.”

I don’t dismiss anything that shows I’m wrong. If I’m wrong I put my hand up and admit it (something that you could do to learn). However this isn’t information or facts. This is a governor having a rant about the media because they don’t slavishly follow what he says.
