AWW SHUCKS, REPUBLICANS

By Pete Moore On May 27th, 2020

Apparently Wuhan Flu deaths in Democratic congressional districts are down while those in Republican districts aren’t. You shoulda voted for the Dems!

  1. Skewed by the major outbreak in densely populated NY and NJ, and their big airports with all the flights from Europe.

This is still the second inning of this baseball game, Pete.

Of the 15 states where cases are increasing, most are Republican controlled.

Including Florida, North Carolina, and in West Virginia, where there are many with high blood pressure and other conditions, and where health care is not good.

  2. Any place hit by this is part of our country and deserves our support and help. I can see why a Brit who is on record as wishing the Germans won World War 2 wouldn’t understand.

  3. It must be interesting going through life seeing every last thing through a black and white partisan lens.

The base of both US parties are a huge part of the problem, not the solution, overseas supporters of US parties are just ridiculous.

yes – end the lockdown now. It is doing enormous damage to Americans:

    https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/499394-the-covid-19-shutdown-will-cost-americans-millions-of-years-of-life

In addition to lives lost because of lost income, lives also are lost due to delayed or foregone health care imposed by the shutdown and the fear it creates among patients. From personal communications with neurosurgery colleagues, about half of their patients have not appeared for treatment of disease which, left untreated, risks brain hemorrhage, paralysis or death.

Here are the examples of missed health care on which we base our calculations: Emergency stroke evaluations are down 40 percent. Of the 650,000 cancer patients receiving chemotherapy in the United States, an estimated half are missing their treatments. Of the 150,000 new cancer cases typically discovered each month in the U.S., most – as elsewhere in the world – are not being diagnosed, and two-thirds to three-fourths of routine cancer screenings are not happening because of shutdown policies and fear among the population. Nearly 85 percent fewer living-donor transplants are occurring now, compared to the same period last year.

Suicides of young people heading skywards, and prospects for the rest blighted. The lockdown must end. We have the numbers

Italy Says 96% of Virus Fatalities Suffered From Other Illnesses

The coronavirus outbreak in Italy has struck overwhelmingly among the nation’s older population and those with preexisting medical conditions, according to the national health authority.

Almost 96% of the country’s virus fatalities had previous medical conditions, data from Italy’s ISS health institute show. The ISS, which publishes a range of studies on the outbreak including a detailed weekly report, confirms a trend seen since the beginning of the emergency, with the average age of Italians who’ve died from the virus at around 80.

Strangely enough, these results confirm the mortality data from 2 months ago which I posted. There was no need for any lockdown and THERE IS NO NEED for any lockdown. There is a definite need to end the lockdown but the political class and big-pharma have bet the ranch on this exercise so it shall continue until some kind of ‘vaccine’ is found at Barnard Castle before the virus disappears and the windfall with it.

That’s a cheap shot Pete, even by your standards.

The initial wave hit high-density cities on all continents, no mystery there. But of course it has spread out and in the USA it is now hitting the less densely populated areas which comprise small cities and towns and rural districts. So the first wave hit the Democrat areas and the ripples of that wave are now hitting the Republican areas. No big mystery unless you are a looney conspiracy theorist.

Anyway, the lockdowns need to end asap. But people need to keep at least one metre distant and wear a mask wash their hands. If they won’t do those things they are spreading the virus and ***k them for doing that. I really hope they die.

I am told that the virus death rate in the United Kingdom is more than twice what it is in the United States, And that it is the highest in the world

How do you think that your Conservative government is doing?

Who is doing a better job, Boris Johnson or Gavin Newsom?

  7. Phantom,

//I am told that the virus death rate in the United Kingdom is more than twice what it is in the United States, And that it is the highest in the world//

Even taking into account that for various reasons that can cause discrepancies in the data, the UK’s figures do not look good. But what are the reasons?

I may imagine that it will take a long time to properly answer that question, but that the answer may include slow government action to shut down flights from China and Italy. Heathrow is an unbelievably huge transport hub of course, and I think that you even had nonstops from Wuhan itself, for weeks and weeks after the virus was known.

In 20/20 hindsight, you should have locked down earlier, for a time, while society learned how to handle the thing ( masks, etc )

The UK and US national leadership grossly underestimated the nature of this virus. That’s not debatable.

  10. And…

You had nonstops from Iran to Heathrow.

The virus was running wild in Iran, where the government was covering it up.

China was only part of the story in January, February, March. It likely came in to the UK and US through the back door as well as the front door.

  11. I totally agree with what you said above Phantom.
Leadership was definitely lacking in the early stages of this virus.
I also think our general health as a nation has played a part in this.

  12. Our two countries are led by bluffers, while the more effective Asian nations including Taiwan are led by highly technical people – people who didn’t believe one word coming out of China’s mouth.
