Let the War begin…… a cold one for sure

By Patrick Van Roy On June 1st, 2020

This week while the US burns from rioting Democrats and the Democrats announce that they refuse to come back to work for another month the World moves on.

The Trump Administration gave the hardest shift in Policy on China since before Nixon breached the Chinese Wall.

These are some of changes. The Chinese pass 1 Trillion Dollars through the NYSE that money has “a pass” negotiated by Joe Biden that allows the Chinese companies and entities a “waiver of audit” they do not have to show their books. No other Country or Corporations has that pass, now neither do the Chinese.

The US has already taken the Chinese to the Hague and Won over them claiming false territorial waters building a military base on man made Islands. That case has formally been brought as Charges against the Chinese at the UN.

The most significant change and Charge are the second set brought against China for Treaty Violations over Hong Kong. The Sino-British Joint Declaration is a treaty signed between the United Kingdom and China on Hong Kong under Chinese sovereignty. Signed on 19 December 1984 in Beijing negotiated by Thatcher. It is was designed and agreed to by the Brits and the Chinese to guarantee Hong Kong’s Independence even as they were brought back under Chinese Sovereignty.

Official Charges were delivered at the U.N. for Violating that Treaty which still has legal authority over Hong Kong for 27 more years.

And to add insult to injury he officially demanded that China explain it’s actions to the World over their handling of the Corona Virus that has killed almost 100 Million People world wide.

  1. That has killed almost 100 million people worldwide… ?

Slight exaggeration there Patrick. The official figures as of today are
Confirmed cases 6.15 Million Deaths 372,000. Even if you think they are an underestimate, your claim above is wildly exaggerated

  2. Do you have a Cold War with Noel? Is that why you’re not publishing his blog?

  3. Oh I’m getting excited now. What is the incendiary content of Noel’s blog that scares Patrick into not releasing it ? 🙂

  4. I did not see that he sent me one….. I haven’t checked my email…..

    I will now thank you

  5. At this stage, with my post long since du cote de chez van Roy, I can only assume Antifa stormed and looted his house and made away with something valuable.

  6. I couldn’t change the video set screen Noel sorry post up.

  7. while the US burns from rioting Democrats and the Democrats announce that they refuse to come back to work for another month the World moves on.

When the post begins with this, there’s no point in going any further.

There’s not even the slightest attempt to think any of this through.

  8. that’s your loss

  9. If only 93.8 million people die from the Pandemic Patrick will be able to say he got a fact right.

  10. I should fix that number but I won’t…….. It’s the Model……

There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that the exemption (which wasn’t really an exemption) was negotiated by Joe Biden. It wasn’t negotiated by anyone. It just happned, largely due to China declaring all audits of Chinese companies to be national secrets (and thus couldn’t leave China). It also wasn’t closed by the Donald. It was a bipartisan bill, led by former DSCC (Senate equivalent of the D triple-C) chair Chris Van Hollen. It is also not true to suggest that it is only Chinese companies who are currently in this situation, with companies in France also enjoying similar status following the expiration of the PCAOB’s cooperative arrangement with France in December 2019.

Yes, a particularly important area of international cooperation by the United States, where they grouped together with 44 other nations to take China to an international court, where the court ruled in favour of those 44 nations. An excellent piece of diplomacy by the Obama administration. Something the Trump administration could learn from. Also worth pointing out that the Bush administration took 7 cases against the Chinese at the WTO (and won or settled all 7 – and China complied with all 7 rulings or settlements), while the Obama administration took thirteen cases against China (and has won or settled 12 of them, with 1 still pending – and China has complied with all 12 rulings or settlements). The Trump administration has filed 3 complaints against China with the WTO (though has constantly delayed one of them suggesting they don’t want to prosecute the case). The Obama administration had started to build a robust international coalition to target China in the international arena, while the Trump administration has decided to withdraw from those coalitions and go it alone.

Sadly the US and international response to the Hong Kong crisis was undermined by the President’s decision to glibly announce on twitter his desire to deploy the National Guard so that they could shoot protestors. It handed the CPC a huge propoganda victory. In reality this is another area where international cooperation would work best (and there is some evidence of cooperation with other countries than America indicating that they will also strip Hong Kong of special economic status should Beijing continue its annexation).

“And to add insult to injury he officially demanded that China explain it’s actions to the World over their handling of the Corona Virus that has killed almost 100 Million People world wide.”

It thought it was just as bad as the winter flu? Why do they have to explain their actions on the winter flu?

  12. The Philippines brought the South China Sea case to the Hague, not the US.

The Philippines made one of the dumbest moves in history when it kicked the US military out of Clark Field and Subic Bay in 1992. If the US bases had remained there, the Chinese would never dared seize Philippine shoals / seas the way that they did. The US helped Philippine security when there and paid rent to do it.
