I love crazy women

By Patrick Van Roy On July 19th, 2020

This is the second woman arrested for covering the Graffiti put on the streets of America. You can promote hate and it’s legal object to it and you’re charged with a hate crime.

  1. Techically it was graffiti. I’m unaware of anyone arrested for looting, burning down buildings or killing being acquitted under the defense of feeding their families. Can you provide examples for our consideration?

  2. Techically it Was Not graffiti.

  3. Mahons your cities House of representatives super star said this week that the looting and burning was caused by people just trying to feed their families….

AOC represents your party, and is key to the Democrats platform. And NYC didn’t even put the person who split open cops heads in a Unity March. Released NO BAIL, no time in jail.

    This is your party Mahons.

  4. and you’re right it wasn’t graffiti when the Mayor did it, it was a classic Maoist tactic…. your Mayor your Party.

  5. Patrick – I don’t live in New York City, and am ineligible to vote in mayoral elections there. Please try to get your facts right. Graffiti is unauthorized. This painting, which I opposed, was authorized so therefore it isn’t Graffiti.

  6. I called what the city did graffiti of the most idiotic, taunting, counterproductive type

So how can you arrest somebody for putting graffiti on graffiti

The catastrophic poorly thought out no cash bail policy was implemented by the state, not the city.

  7. “The catastrophic poorly thought out no cash bail policy was implemented by the state, not the city.”

Is there evidence that removing cash bail substantially increases recidivism or substantially lowers courtroom appearance rates? And if it doesn’t increase recidivism, and if it doesn’t lower courtroom appearance rates, then why is it catastrophic?

  8. Mahons do work in NYC, do you pay the wage tax ? Are they your party running it ? And why don’t you live in the city ? Schools not good enough for your kids ? Streets not safe enough for your family ? Property prices to high ?

  9. The catastrophic poorly thought out no cash bail policy was implemented by the state, not the city.

    The Democrat Governor

  10. Patrick why do you try to divert factual challenges to your posts into personal inquiries instead of supporting you claims with facts? Because you can’t.

  11. Phantom you are free to call it graffiti or a duck, but it wasn’t illegal graffiti or a duck.

  12. So if you work in NYC you must automatically be a Democrat and supporter of the mayor ?

  13. Mahons is a proud Democrat and makes no bones about it.

  14. I thought vandalism and destruction was to be condemned on ATW?

Patrick why do you try to divert factual challenges to your posts into personal inquiries instead of supporting you claims with facts? Because you can’t.

The questions I asked Mahons are relevant. You work for a high end Law Firm in the City, you pay city wage taxes. You are very successful, one of the best in your field you certainly could afford to live there, but you choose not to.

The reasons you choose not to are very relevant. You don’t live there because of the cost and danger of policies that you support right up to and including the Mayor using the tactics of Mao.

  16. she was removing graffiti

  17. Despite you quasi-cyber-stalking and ATW etiquette violations you know zero about me.
I live near where I was raised due to factors of my choosing which include being near family.

  18. Now returning to the actual claims raised in your post please provide us with examples of people who got away with killing and looting because they claimed they were feeding their families.

  19. “she was removing graffiti”

She wasn’t. The mural has the permission of the city, so her attack on that was graffiti. If it was the other way around (a pro-Trump or anti-black lives matter mural being defaced by someone) you’d be calling for that person to be shot.

  20. she was removing graffiti

It’s my understanding she threw balck paint over a painting mandated by the City? Isn’t that vandalism & destruction?

  21. The mural is a stupid political stunt and it will be targeted and now the police are having to spend wasteful time defending it. It’s time this gimmick was removed.

  22. I agree that is was crass Colm but untimately any vandalism of it is exactly that.

It strikes me that some are in agreement with the vandalism because they don’t like the message, however stupid it may be.

  23. Oh that’s true Paul, but really the mayor was just goading Trump with this. Its. It’s not the sort of thing a serious responsible political leader should be doing. It was bound to be a target from the start.

  24. I’m not disagreeing but stating that it was mandated by the city and thus any defacing of it is vandalism regardless of the its stupidity.

  25. Yes it is vandalism absolutely. I don’t disagree.

  26. The destruction of statues IS mandated by ‘authorities’ for if it were not, the statues would be protected. The position for many is that their only objection to eliminating white historical record is that they want it done ‘legally’

  27. How can you effectively protect every statue in the public sphere ?

  28. It’s interesting that a black woman is trying to remove a BLM sign, no?

  29. Many of the destroyed statues have been and prominent places

Where there was no effort at all to protect them

  30. Colm – per Phantom at 6.28pm, no effort was made by any authority to protect historically-relevant statues from destruction in both the US and UK. If these statues were to have been protected, they would have been protected – as a legal requirement. Has anybody been arrested and charged with criminal damage? How about police chiefs for being complicit?

  31. Our streets and avenues should not be used for advertising. No matter if it be political or selling a product. It is ugly and possibly dangerous. It does not matter if a silly mayor authorized it, it should not happen for any reason. We are already inundated with advertising to the point it is counterproductive.

  32. NYer,

agreed. On thinking about it, it seems that de Blasio must have broken some sort of law concerning painting advertising on a public street, otherwise, what keeps any Joe from painting HIS own slogan on a street? Could I paint TRUMP on Mahons’ street and get away with it? 🙂

  33. I don’t really see the painted words at Trump Tower as advertising

I see them as the local government taunting a major and targeting a local employer , taunting a president whose cooperation is needed

They are an act of hatred and intolerance, harmful to New York City.

  34. Could I paint TRUMP on Mahons’ street and get away with it? 🙂

PaTroll has already beaten you to it 🙂

Seriously though, if you applied for permission from the relevant authorities, and received that permission, then surely the answer is – yes?

  35. Taunting and targeting a major local employer

  36. Try getting the permission from the relevant authority 🙂
As if Trump mural would be permitted by a metropolitan authority….

    My ASS!

YOU on this site have said you work in a NYC Law Firm. YOU have stated you DO NOT live in the CITY on this site.

I have stated on this site that I MOVED from my city due to the exact reasons I asked why YOU don’t live in YOURS.

You’re PARANOID as well as being a drone…. cyberstalk my ass Mahons.

And Mahons I didn’t say they got away with anything for any reason. The tweet is NOT mine and it was AOC who when asked DIRECTLY about the looting, burning, and killing said it was a LIE it was just people trying to feed their families……

Details, like Facts, and Evidence are everything COUNSELOR.

  38. What DiBlasio did was right out of the Mao/Marxist playbook government shaming. A tactic employed by tyrannical governments, and Communists.

    Which ole Willie is both.

  39. AOC’s comments, like yours, are discounted by serious people.

  40. AOC’s comments almost never make any economic or other sense. On Amazon or anything else.

I’ve always felt that sex appeal is why she is known. It’s similar in a way to the appeal of Trump. Most of his supporters are mousey men who wish that they could get away with his crimes, his having unprotected sex with prostitutes, etc. Science shows this.

With either of them, the positions on any issue don’t matter at all. The supporters love them because they’re attracted to them.

  41. so the people of NYC that put her in power aren’t serious about who they send…. but then again there are very few elected by them that have ever been anything but jokes, sad powerful jokes inflicted on themselves and the nation….. with some exceptions

She’s got an economics degree Phantom, what does that say about the state of modern higher learning ?

  42. I’ve always felt that sex appeal is why she is known. It’s similar in a way to the appeal of Trump.

No,No,No Phantom. I don’t think even Melania would say he has that sort of appeal 🙂

  43. Whether you agree with her actions or not, the mural was painted legally so this is an act of vandalism.

  44. Mahons,

Patrick why do you try to divert factual challenges to your posts into personal inquiries instead of supporting you claims with facts? Because you can’t.

    Spot-on mate.
Patrick wouldn’t know a fact if it bit him in the ass. He just obfuscates, rambles diverts attention and insults people. He’s literally the worst debater on ATW.

  45. Spot on 12.29, Dave.

Because some disagree with the mural it seems that vandalism of it justified. As I said yesterday, it strikes me that some are in agreement with the vandalism because they don’t like the message, however stupid it may be

  46. He’s literally the worst debater on ATW.

    He’s a Master at it, actually 😉

  47. I’ve always felt that sex appeal is why she is known. It’s similar in a way to the appeal of Trump. Most of his supporters are mousey men who wish that they could get away with his crimes, his having unprotected sex with prostitutes, etc. Science shows this.

Phantom, you’ve put your finger on the base of my political philosophy. It’s not the Constitution, or love of country, but the secret wish to have sex with a prostitute without a condom. You’re a genius! 🙂

  48. I’m just filling in until Colm arrives 🙂

  49. Charles

    “ Most “ !

As I have mentioned before, I know a lot of Trump supporters in the New York City area. In a few discussions, I have mentioned to them how personally dishonest he is. A few of them have agreed, and said that they actually like that about him, That they feel that he is a great businessman, and that they feel that’s how business works.

She doesn’t know anything about how money works, but she is not completely stupid.

-Cortez attended Yorktown High School, graduating in 2007.[19] In high school and college, Ocasio-Cortez went by the name of “Sandy”.[20] She came in second in the Microbiology category of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair with a microbiology research project on the effect of antioxidants on the lifespan of the nematode C. elegans.[21] In a show of appreciation for her efforts, the MIT Lincoln Laboratory named a small asteroid after her.

  50. Seimi.

    Nice. 😁

  51. Nice one, Seimi. Comes from being alone in front of a computer too long.

    https://www.batesfootwear.com/US/en/home

  52. Shoes?

  53. Charles

You are the one Trump supporter here who has strongly criticized his conduct, who has disagreed openly with some of his positions, and who has made it clear that you only support him out of concern that the AOC Democrats are even worse than he is.

If I misspeak here, let me know.

But your ears should not have been tingling there.

  54. Phantom, the trick is to combine the title Seimi gave with the brand name of the boots.
Based on an old English joke, I believe.

Charles, this weekend Trump claimed in a FOX News interview that the US had the best mortality rate in the world.
This is so aburdly false, to say nothing of it being callous in view of the numbers dying every day in the States, that it needs no further discussion. But do you honestly think a person who says such a thing deserves the vote of any American who believes in responsible government?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6XdpDOH1JA

    From 1:38 to around 2:40

(note the chart the fools at Fox then put up to show the president was wrong is also incorrect, as it shows the rate of deaths per tested cases, so inevitably a country that tests so much will have more recorded cases but a lower death rate per tested cases. The true mortality rate – deaths per populaton – is much worse for the US)

  55. You only support him out of concern that the AOC Democrats are even worse than he is.

Joe Biden is far from the ‘AOC Democrats’ and about as a safe establishment candidate as pssible. You think Charles will vote for him?

  56. Paul

He will speak for himself, but I think that the answer is no.

You wouldn’t be voting for just Biden, you’d be voting for the VP choice.

And there is a real possibility of a clean Dem sweep of presidency / Senate / House. You would be voting for that party.

Of a party where ” defund the police ” and race based ” reparations ” are actually respected positions, and where AOC and Al Sharpton believe it or not are respected senior figures.

You’d be electing a respectable enough figurehead, but the party is a disturbing socially divisive ideological mess, not centrist at all.

They only look respectable because Trump is so completely awful.

  57. Biden is 77, and he does not appear to be a robust 77, going into the most brutal job around.

You have to think that there is a real possibility that the VP will become president, later or sooner.

  58. Of a party where ” defund the police ” and race based ” reparations ” are actually respected positions, and where AOC and Al Sharpton believe it or not are respected senior figures.

You’d be electing a respectable enough figurehead, but the party is a disturbing socially divisive ideological mess, not centrist at all

I absolutely don’t think that that’s the case but fair enough, if that’s your position speak about the DP as a whole instead of disingenuously referring to ‘AOC Democrats’

  59. The fact that you disagree with it from afar does not make it disingenuous.

The AOCs are very much on the rise in the Democratic Party, coast to coast, the remaining Biden types fear them. No close observer, including I believe the Americans here, will disagree with that.

  60. The AOCs are very much on the rise in the Democratic Party, coast to coast, the remaining Biden types fear them.

If they’re in the ascendency then it’s majority DP as a whole and should be referred to as such. Maybe an injection of atypical centre leftism is what US politics needs to get it out of the quagmire it’s gotten itself into.

  61. I will refer to it as I please.

This is largely a centrist nation, but it has been harmed by both political parties.

The Democrats are tilting hard left by US standards, the Republicans are nothing more than a cult of personality party at this point.

A younger, centrist Dem candidate who could knock militant heads where necessary is what we need. But we don’t have that at all.

  62. I will refer to it as I please

And I will (correctly) refer to it as disingenuous if I please.

The Democrats are tilting hard left by US standards

US standards are ridiculous. I one observed an online internet exchange about ‘patriotism’ between a German and an American. The German stated,

‘You measure patriotism by hanging a flag outside your house 365 days a year, sending young men to war and then thanking them for their service as they pass you in their wheelchairs in Walmart or as you pass them homeleness, begging on the street.

We Germans measure patriotism by vouting for higher taxation in order that the more under privileged and vulnerable in our society may have access to healthcare and the chance of a half decent first, second & third level education’

As I say above, maybe it’s an injection of this ‘communism’ that US politics needs.

  63. The answer is no. I would not be buried next to a democrat if I could help it! Phantom, I believe a Democrat Rep Engel lost his primary in NY to a handpicked AOC progressive, yes. The Dem establishment fear them and so do I.

I will vote for Trump (holding my nose) because I want jobs over mobs. I back the police. I want MORE funding for the police, not less. This mayhem must end.

  64. Charles, would you foe example be in agreement with say 5% being taken from the defence budget and channelled into healt & education and if not why not?

  65. There are plenty of good Democrat voters, who vote party out of habit, but the Democratic party of today is hugely problematic.

The bad guys are on the rise everywhere you look.

This party has little relationship to the Democratic Party of FDR or JFK or even Bill Clinton.

  66. Paul. I would actually agree with that. We do need to take better care of our people instead of helping to protect the Germans from the Russians all the time. Better to spend some of that loot over here. That’s actually a core principle of MAGA.

  67. Many people who say they are democrats are actually Marxists who are trying to take over the party like the Borg. Centrists like Biden trying to appease these people is a failing proposition IMO.

  68. I don’t think a core principle of MAGA is shaving 5% of the defence budget to channel into public spending Charles but I’m glad you agree with it. I then don’t see why you ‘fear’ peole like AOC and Sanders as this kind of thinking is theirs.

As to allegedly portecting the Germans from the Russians, four words, Iraq War, Afghan War and the hundreds & hundreds (thousands?) of European lives lost in them.

I back the police. I want MORE funding for the police, not less. This mayhem must end.

I don’t recall this mayhem before Trump and what you state above sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy.

  69. Many people who say they are democrats are actually Marxists

How many? What school of Marxism?

    An incredibley wide, sweeping statement.

  70. Paul marxism is taught (not by name) as the primary underlying theme in our Teacher Union controlled public schools, in the Universities it’s the only Dogma taught.

  71. “Paul marxism is taught (not by name) as the primary underlying theme in our Teacher Union controlled public schools, in the Universities it’s the only Dogma taught.”

What type of Marxism is taught?

  72. Taught as a political ideaology in political science classes with other political ideaologies?

What name is it taught under?

Which branch of Marxism is taught and which branch of Marxism is the dogma at how many universities?

  73. Of course none of us americans know anything about “schools” of Marxism”. Any form of Marxism is Un-American, even though I don’t know what it is! 🙂

  74. Now now

There were good contributions made by guys named Marx

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKTT-sy0aLg

  75. I tend to find that most Americans think that ‘Marxism’ much like ‘Communism’ is anything that they disagree with.

Very much like Pete Moore in fact.

  76. The use of the word Communist is more pegorative than analytical by most of the American right wingers here. One can see that by who the apply it to. Most could not tell the difference between the writings of Karl Marx and Grouch Marx.

  77. Interesting one regarding the vandalism aspect of above.

Vandals spray paint a statement of fact on a monument in a cemetery in a small Canadian town:

    https://ottawacitizen.com/news/national/defence-watch/graffiti-on-monument-commemorating-nazi-ss-division-being-investigated-as-a-hate-crime-by-police?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1594983035

Vandalism? Absolutely, (as is the vanalism on the City Hall mandated message above).

Hate crime? How can a statement of fact be hate?

  78. Interesting story Paul. Ontario police have clarified since they initially thought it was against Ukrainians per se, and not Nazis. However, it is still properly a crime. How some group thought it was a fitting memorial is however astounding.

  79. It is vandalism but not a hate crime. I am surprised that monument was allowed to be put up though.

  80. I came across it with this satirical piece I saw online Mahons:

    https://www.thebeaverton.com/2020/07/police-say-that-anti-nazi-graffiti-hits-close-to-home/?fbclid=IwAR23uVMjBD5PxqP9ICF-dxOjWA1aB_X5kob92WYoQOAyfK88ph9glssvpMU

I looked a little further as I couldn’t really believe there was a monument to Ukranian SS men in a cemetery in Canada. I don’t understand how cops thought that ‘this is a Nazi monumant’ sprayed on a monument to Nazis could have been against Ukranians.

  81. Because it is vandalism of a memorial in a Ukranian cemetery? In addition the role of Nazi collaborators in Ukraine etc… during the Second World War is complicated, with a number of Ukranians seeing them as less Nazis and more Ukranian patriots who fought against the Soviets. The period of time is increasingly part of a growing pissing contest between Ukraine and Russia, with Ukraine wanting to increasingly commemorate those Ukrainians who fought against Russia and increasingly not wanting to commemorate those Ukrainians who fought for Russia.

So much so (almost to the puzzlement of many) some Ukrainians would take great offence at the suggestion that the Galizien Division of the Waffen-SS were Nazis, seeing them not as Nazis but as Ukrainian patriots. So spray painting “Nazi war monument” on it needs to be seen in that context, and is possibly an anti-Ukranian sentiment rather than an anti-Nazi sentiment.

  82. Seamus, Ukrainians can see it as they wish. The fact this commemorates members of the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS gives it a different sheen to those who are more objective.

The fact that the monument was the only thing vandalised in a Ukrainian cemetery with ‘this is a Nazi monument’ suggests to me that the monument was deliberately targetted because of the subject matter as opposed to it being a a memorial in a Ukranian cemetery.

  83. “Most could not tell the difference between the writings of Karl Marx and Grouch Marx.”

    I resemble that remark!

  84. Dick Cavett used to have a ( very good ) late night chat show

One of his beloved guests was an older Groucho

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMy-KqhTh_c

  85. “Many people who say they are democrats are actually Marxists”. But it is the Republicans who win elections with the help of Marxist Russians. Judge by what they do not by what they say.

  86. I have to say, for Russians to be so Marxist they’re magnificent oligarch crony capitalists.

  87. There are very very few real Marxists in American politics.

  88. //There are very very few real Marxists in American politics.//

    But even fewer in Russia.

  89. While we are talking about flawed men who don’t deserve monuments or murals I saw someone suggest George Floyd doesn’t deserve one given his past crimes. I agree with that.

  90. Obviously those who erected the statue of ‘Bomber’ Harris in London’s strand didn’t take such things into consideration.

  91. George Floyd may have been a nice guy, but all we know about him before his death was that he had a few minor convictions and tried to pass a dodgy 20 Dollar note and had allergy issues. That isn’t an accomplishment, and being a victim of racism in the US unfortunately still isn’t much of an accomplishment either.

Paul, Harris was guilty of crimes, but his crimes probably shortened that most awful of wars, in which tens of thousands of people were dying every day. Like the atom bombs on Japan, it could be argued that bombing offensive against Germany on balance saved more lives than it took, although that’s of course a very murky ethical issue.

  92. Yeah, it could be argued but aren’t deliberately burning civilians to death and intentionally ‘spreading terror’ war crimes?

Floyd should or shouldn’t have a statue, (which I disagree with) because he had a criminal record and was killed by a cop while a guy who ordered thousands of civilians to be killed is a hero and has a statue erected in one of the main throughfares of one of the world’s great cities.

    It’s a murky world alright.

  93. I don’t see evidence that Floyd was a victim of ” racism “. He was a victim of a bad, violent cop.

MINNEAPOLIS — The four teenagers drove around playing a game of Nerf Gun Assassin on a May evening before graduation in 2013. One of them randomly fired an orange dart out the window.

It was a stupid teenager move. What happened next was deadly serious: Two Minneapolis police officers pulled up, pointed their guns at the teenagers and shouted orders laced with expletives, two of them later recalled.

Kristofer Bergh, then 17, said he kept telling himself not to move suddenly or give the police any reason to shoot him. The youth who had fired the dart was steered into their cruiser for what seemed like an hour, and the officers seized everyone’s Nerf guns. One officer made a lasting impression; in fact, Mr. Bergh and another passenger said they would never forget him, nor what he said as he gave them back their guns.

“Most of you will be 18 by the end of the year,” the officer said, before letting them go. “That means you’ll be old enough for ‘big boy jail.’”

It was Derek Chauvin, the white police officer who, seven years later, would become known around the world for putting his knee on the neck of a Black man named George Floyd during an arrest and holding it there for more than eight minutes, until he no longer had a pulse.

Chauvin was an incredibly high strung, rigid guy who never should have been a cop. The above incident where he pulled a gun on teenagers who had done nothing that warranted it, was against a group of white teenage boys.

There was a long list of complaints against him, from people of all backgrounds.
