AND THE MOSQUES?

By Pete Moore On August 5th, 2020

This country is governed by Covid bedwetters, and they’ve gone completely round the twist.

Local authorities will be able to order the demolition of buildings at the centre of coronavirus outbreaks under draconian powers to contain a potential second wave.

Cars, buses, trains and aeroplanes could also be destroyed subject to the approval of magistrates.

Mad. Genuinely mad. The people who have got so much wrong continue to get so much wrong. All these new powers they’ve given themselves, these stupid laws and rules which they’ve dreamed up these last few months; none of them will ever be repealed or quashed. Vast liberties have been lost to a ruling class which has gone absolutely bonkers.

  1. Hope you don’t have a condition later in life where you need to wear pads . Bedwetters won’t seem such a smart thing to say .
We’ll chip in at Xmas to buy you a dictionary as you clearly need one

  2. Covid bedwetters

That’s the approach that has led to such an atrocious outcome so far in the UK.

    Respect this thing.

  3. Covid bedwetters. That’s Alison’s term. The world looks on in a sort of embarrassed-for-you horror.

  4. The Irish government announced today that pubs will not be allowed to re-open for at least another month (they have been closed since mid-march). Pubs that serve food and can operate like restaurants have been allowed to open for a while now and that seems to be working well. There is to be a strict 11pm closing time.

Masks are to be a legal requirement in indoor public settings from Monday.

Mistakes have been made but I think Ireland is striking more or less the right balance now.

  5. The Japanese Koreans and Taiwanese don’t use such terms, and look how they’ve done.

  6. The legislation that gives the power to destroy buildings is seemingly from 1984, it’s not a new power.

  7. It’s the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984.

It is referenced in this https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/containing-and-managing-local-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreaks/covid-19-contain-framework-a-guide-for-local-decision-makers#local-outbreak

Which (surprise) proposes no such thing as demolishing buildings, as that would be bonkers.

It’s just a BS hypothetical that somebody has dreamt up.

  8. The Telegraph says that local authorities will be able to draw on six separate Acts of Parliament.

  9. Yes, old ones. The 1984 act is the one with the power to demolish buildings and so on.

Nobody has suggested using it for this.

That of course, has not stopped some from shitting the bed.

  10. That of course, has not stopped some from shitting the bed

    Superb turn of phrase, Frank.

  11. As has already been pointed out, these powers are (a), not new and (b), nobody’s talking seriously about using them. What are you saying about corvid bedwetters?

  12. Excellent stuff Frank complete with the perfect scatalogical riposte 🙂

  13. The sky is falling

    The sky is falling

    I won’t wear no mask

    Make me

    Their philosophy in 15 words

  14. “Which (surprise) proposes no such thing as demolishing buildings, as that would be bonkers.”

It would be bonkers, but that document specifically lists the demolition of buildings as a possibility in Annex 2.

  15. Pete Moore – bedshitter.

  16. Oh I’m with Pete on this. I mean it’s obvious. If they can expect to you to wear a face mask in enclosed public spaces clearly the next step is a government bulldozer smashing through your bedroom walls as you sleep at night..

Be afraid, be very afraid. 😱

  17. I want the conspiracy guys to post on the Bill Gates plandemic vaccine.

They have been sleeping on this matter

  18. Pete Moore – bedshitter.

    best part of that is
once you’ve made your bed, you gotta lie in it 😉
im sure petem will learn from this and exercise restraint in future posts,
ofc he will . be stupid otherwise eh !

  19. I’m not going to take lectures on shitting the bed from people who have been convinced that a virus which would, for most, be mild or asymptomatic, is reason to hide under that bed while the economy is trashed and the non-Covid death toll eventually exceeds that of the virus.

Your little face nappies are pointless and wholly ineffective. They don’t save you, anyone else or the economy.

So stop feeling good about yourselves. People are dying by cancer, suicide, heart attacks and because of hundreds of other reasons because cowardly politicians are listening to cowards who have been cowed by a mild virus.

The sea has gone out and the tsunami of unemployment and deaths which are about to break belong to you. You will not be allowed to disclaim your responsibility. It all belongs to you.

  20. iF you had done what the Japanese, Koreans and Taiwanese did, without whining from them, you could be dining in a restaurant right now, despite the late hour.

But no you and Pat and Allan and all the other Allans around the countries, have to have such a sustained obstructionist weepy anti science meltdown over this.

It is you guys who have melted the economy. You and your Florida and Texas governors, and your president.

  21. life is incredible, there’s you phantom demonstrating wisdom, you’ve learnt much and have grasped this better then anyone on ATW, by getting down and dirty doing the research, reminding the sullen the we know better now then say March.
petem sadly mate you’ve learnt zilch, and are setting yourself up for another 6 months of being hit out of the park . you started well in the beginning, but the seed fell on stony ground, and the enemy picked you off . that’s the lesson . parable of the sower

  22. iF you had done what the Japanese, Koreans and Taiwanese did, without whining from them, you could be dining in a restaurant right now, despite the late hour.

Notwithstanding that we can dine out, do you mean if we did Oriental things like severely restrict arrivals in the UK?

You know I advocated that. You know that President Trump did that. And you know that the left, the Dems, the press, all of the left, went volcanically mad when he did so.

Your Dems and your press were urging Americans to ignore the virus and get out there while castigating President Trump as a racist for wanting to close the airports.

Don’t argue, you know this is true. And you know it’s true that the NZ government was lauded weeks later, by the same left wing bullshitters, for closing its airports.

You live in a backward city, in a backward state, made backward because of Democrats. Don’t cast their inadequacies onto the president because you voted for the left wing bums who killed thousands of people in NY.

You are responsible. Man up and own the consequences of your ignorant vote.

  23. Pete’n’Patrick’n’Allan are guided first by politics, and protecting their president.

The virus has no politics, but they sure do.

That’s behind what they’ve said on this matter since Day One.

No criticism of Trump, or of Republican governors, only of Democrats.

I think that we should try to follow those who know stuff ( Fauci, Brix, Osterholm etc ) and be critical of every Trump and Cuomo and Johnson and DeSantis who have led us down the path of physical and financial ruin.

  24. a virus which would, for most, be mild or asymptomatic, is reason to hide under that bed while the economy is trashed and the non-Covid death toll eventually exceeds that of the virus

Fair point Pete. But then you spoil it with this bullshit:

Your little face nappies are pointless and wholly ineffective. They don’t save you, anyone else or the economy.

Quit with the childish nappies meme. Every country in the world is either advising or enforcing masks in enclosed public spaces. There is good evidence that they reduce the chances of an asymptomatic infected person spreading the virus. Consequently there is good evidence that they save lives. And that they encourage people to frequent enclosed public spaces, and therefore help the economy.

  25. I remember a couple of months ago Pete regaling us with the details of his vigorous multi layered even OTT hygiene regime he practised every day to avoid contracting the virus . Now he’s like the late night drunk ‘hard man’ looking to pick a fight with the virus wherever it is. “I AINT SCARED I’LL TAKE ALL YOU CORONA BASTARDS ON “ 😉

  26. Pete

Your comment is filled with error. Have you outsourced the writing to Philadelphia?

The Dem opposition to the partial restrictions on China travel are exaggerated.

The major airports here and in Britain were not closed. I heard the flights to LaGuardia every evening

The virus is believed to have entered the US northeast from hard hit Italy, and the US didn’t stop those flights until very late in the game.

Both Trump and Democrats minimized the seriousness of the virus early on.

Probably all our leading politicians deserve criticism, but none more so than the US president who has been erratic the whole time. The buck stops here, no matter how hard he and you try to point fingers at anyone else you can think of.

  27. I will join in on most all criticism of NYC / NYS / NJ, including their inexplicable move to force nursing homes to take covid patients

But the weasels will never criticize their boy for any of his actions or inactions.

  28. i hope that Daphne is ok.

She was very concerned about this early on, when her governor and president were blowing it off.

  29. Phantom –

Pete’n’Patrick’n’Allan are guided first by politics, and protecting their president.

You’re full of crap. You know I was out there well ahead of your president. I look around the world, at WHO and all the eggheads and politicians, and there’s one man alone who has been stone cold right. That’s the man with the bloodhound nose: me. You know it.

    Peter –

There is good evidence that they reduce the chances of an asymptomatic infected person spreading the virus.

Nonsense, |Even the BBC has reported that the WHO has admitted that political lobbying got it to do a reverse-ferret and recommend the wearing of face nappies.

    And Colm’s unredeemed comment –

I remember a couple of months ago Pete regaling us with the details of his vigorous multi layered even OTT hygiene regime he practised every day to avoid contracting the virus .

Yep, sensible for a few weeks at the height of the epidemic. No longer necessary because the epidemic has gone. Face nappies were never necessary. But keep washing your hands, virus or no virus.

  30. England has suffered 404 covid deaths in the past seven days

The virus is down, but not out.

    These are still early days.

  31. I will join in on most all criticism of NYC / NYS / NJ, including their inexplicable move to force nursing homes to take covid patients

You will join in on it if someone else posts about it. But you won’t post about it, even though you live in a state in which thousands of elderly died as a direct result of an instruction by the governor.

If I lived anywhere in NYS I’d post about it, a lot, because Cuomo has presided over a genuine scandal.

Why you won’t do that is between you and your conscience.

  32. England has suffered 404 covid deaths in the past seven days

Bullshit, total bullshit. It’s seven today. Nothing like 404 have died in the last week. The NYT is lying or using Public Health England figures, which is the same as lying.

  33. You are bitter tonight, but not at the bad national leaders. Ah, well.

It isn’t clear that thousands of elderly did die because of that action. It sure didn’t help, but the virus was in all those homes anyway, brought in by unsuspecting family and facility workers, as it was brought into very many homes in the states that didn’t do what Cuomo did.

I don’t think that history will be kind to Cuomo on this, but i am sure that it won’t be kind to Trump, DeSantis, and the anti maskers.

  34. I’m not bitter, Phantom. I’m tired of lies and bullshit and cowardice.

  35. The emperor has no clothes, buddy.

    You guys can’t admit it.

Great damage done to any conservative cause and to the country by him, Pete.

    Sleep tight.

  36. If I lived anywhere in NYS I’d post about it, a lot, because Cuomo has presided over a genuine scandal.

But Trump has played a blinder Pete? You seem to be with Patrick on that, because I’m struggling to recall a single post from you that criticised Trump in the slightest since this pandemic started.

  37. because there is nothing to criticize about Trumps response Peter.

As President he did everything a President can do and did it so fast they called him racist and begged people to come to chinese New Year celebrations. How each are in the US did good or bad is the direct responsibility of the Local and State Governments NOT the Federal Govt.

You know absolutely nothing about how our system works so you believe bullshit when it’s told to youy.

  38. How each AREA in the US did good or bad is the direct responsibility of the Local and State Governments NOT the Federal Govt.

  39. The sea has gone out and the tsunami of unemployment and deaths which are about to break belong to you. You will not be allowed to disclaim your responsibility. It all belongs to you.

Pete’s usual ‘this belongs to you’ accusation, which he used to constantly cast about immigration. it’s a shame, because the few good points he does make are shadowed by this constant stream of shite.

  40. because there is nothing to criticize about Trumps response Peter.

    laughable comment

even yesterday twitter and facebook have been banning crap spewed by Trump and his proxies

Facebook and Twitter restrict Trump accounts over ‘harmful’ virus claim

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-us-2020-53673797

the not jobs will complain about the bans ofc

expecting a rage post today from pat about free speech , outrage at these companies censuring the chosen one
