THE IDIOTS ARE OUT OF LOCKDOWN

By Pete Moore On September 25th, 2020

Tesco has become the latest supermarket to place limits on the number of items shoppers can buy, following a similar move by rival Morrisons.

It now has a three-items per customer limit on flour, dried pasta, toilet roll, baby wipes and some wet wipes.

The supermarkets are acting to prevent a repeat of the panic-buying that led to shortages in March.

The mind boggles. Two work colleagues have told me of bare shelves where pasta and bog roll should be in supermarkets. There isn’t even another lockdown and the nutters are in a panic again. A fuller list of new restrictions has been released:

Asda: Two hand sanitisers, four-packs of toilet rolls.

Tesco: One hand sanitiser, a pound of rice, four-pack of toilet rolls.

Waitrose: One lobster, Six quails eggs, ten ounces of foie gras, a bottle of Bollie.

Aldi: Two tins of beans, one pink sports bra, one mitre saw, two wet suits.

  1. What use are just two wetsuits to anyone!?

  2. Seimi

The first wetsuit protects your skin and the second protects your pink sports bra. 😉

  3. That mitre saw limitation is going to hit me hard.

  4. The continued panic buying, especially of toilet paper, shows how completely stupid many of us are.

    This can never be understood.

These people think that because there is a virus, that there will never be paper again. Or that there will never be stores. Or something.

    Amazing.

A neighbor posted excitedly on social media how happy that she was to have found two cans of Lysol when on a short break in western Massachusetts. What is wrong with people?

  5. As soon as the supermarkets urge people not to panic-buy they immediately do just that. It must be reverse pschycology or something. It’s the same with petrol. Any announcement that “supplies are normal” guarantees instant queues at the pumps.

  6. I also blame websites like the irresponsible Daily Mail. They find one supermarket in some little Northern town that has a temporary shortage of toilet rolls or something. They make a story out of it complete with picture of half empty shelves and turn it into a “new panic buying” event which is then read by thousands of readers who promptly do just that..

  7. The toilet paper shortage is pretty much old news here.

For a while, I kept seeing these nervous people carrying home 12 packs of it.

  8. Its not really happening here but there are attempts by some of the newspapers to provoke it again.

  9. I also blame websites like the irresponsible Daily Mail.

But not the BBC, which is the linked news site in the post?

  10. The BBC are reporting a factual announcement Pete, your beloved Mail was scaremongering.

  11. Ok, apparently there’s a difference.

  12. Her indoors has been ordering ours from Amazon since March. Once a month we get this embarassing sellophane pack of three dozen left at the front door. The woman has no shame.

  13. Paul Weston explains the Covid deaths as from the NHS England website: these are the actual numbers as declared by the NHS…..

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aG1YlF8PH9E

    Covid death without pre-existing condition age 0 – 19: 4
    Covid death without pre-existing condition age 20 – 39: 55
    Covid death without pre-existing condition age 40 – 59: 268

That is FOUR deaths without pre-condition in under-20s in England to 10th September – generally school and college age range, whilst under-60s are 307 which is statistically irrelevant:

    https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/bulletins/deathsregistrationsummarytables/2019

In 2019, there were 496,370 total deaths in England

Whist Weston rails with good reason against the medical establishment, the media and the politicians, he fails to mention the utter stupidity of the general public which has endless credulity.

  14. Pete – since this is your thread and given that several of the Covidistas have taken issue with your disbelief of the hoax, here is the inventor of the Polymerase Chain Reaction test, Kary Mullis, who won the Nobel Prize and who is explaining exactly why it cannot be used for detection of pathogens

    https://youtu.be/FHx059IqP_M

For those maskers, lockers-down, and ‘scientists’, does the actual scientist make it clear to you why the PCR test cannot be used as a medical tool? If not, would you state what the insufficiency is and I’ll attempt to bridge that gap using more links to the inventor of the PCR test.

  15. he fails to mention the utter stupidity of the general public which has endless credulity.

Of course Allan, it’s the sheeple. They are wise when they vote for Brexit and “Boris” and foolish when they support lockdown.

Seriously, there seems to be general support for lockdown-lite, which shows again that people will always prioritise what they see to be safety over freedom. It’s not hard to imagine a digital ID system coming out of this crisis. Cummings is clearly lusting for one and so-called libertarian “Boris” will be easily won round, as will the Tory press. Murdoch will be a cheer-leader for sure.

  16. Of course Allan, it’s the sheeple.

Peter – at 11.59pm are the numbers. Do you disagree with the numbers?

At 12.09am is the explanation of the test used to generate the ‘Covid cases’ by the inventor of the test. Do you understand the explanation and accept that the test results are being deliberately falsified?

  17. Allan

Unlike you I don’t jump on every conspiracy bandwagon that comes along. So I don’t believe that figures are being “deliberately falsified”, just misinterpreted with a bias towards lockdown. But like you I am sceptical that we are about to experience a second wave of Black Death proportions and I agree that Ferguson and his “models” have been totally discredited.

For what it’s worth I believe that we should follow what Sweden has done:

    https://www.spiked-online.com/2020/09/21/sweden-has-exposed-the-cruel-folly-of-lockdown/

  18. Peter – the figures are created from PCR testing and the inventor of the test has made absolutely and unequivocally clear that PCR is not to be used for determining the presence of pathogens. Now surely the implication is evident?

  19. The idiots are in charge of the NHS and the liars are in charge of the media. At 12.09am, the inventor of the PCR test states that it is NOT to be used for diagnosing illness attributable to viruses, as anybody who watches shall have confirmed.

Meanwhile, Reuters’ ‘fact-checkers’ are declaring that it’s not so…..

    https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-pcr-idUSKBN24420X

False. The quote undermining PCR tests is misattributed to Mullis and taken out of context. PCR tests are being used widely in England to show that SARS-CoV-2 viral genetic material is present in the patient.

This article was produced by the Reuters Fact Check team.

These are liars for if I can find the original statement by Mullis, then ‘fact-checkers’ at Reuters must surely be able to do so.

    And now for the idiots…..

The PCR test is the preferred COVID-19 testing method in England (tinyurl.com/u9xxxup). It detects the presence of the virus by amplifying the virus’genetic material to a point where it can be detected by scientists (tinyurl.com/y7rno7pf).

A spokesperson for Public Health England told Reuters why PCR tests are being used widely in England: “Molecular diagnostic tests, such as real-time PCR, are the gold standard methods for identifying individuals with an active viral infection, such as SARS-CoV-2 (the cause of COVID-19 disease), in their respiratory tract. These tests are rapid and produce results in real-time.

As Mullis states, the molecules supposedly linked to a virus are already in the body and can be amplified to give whatever quantity and result the user wants to get. It’s a total hoax

  20. Peter,

“But like you I am sceptical that we are about to experience a second wave of Black Death proportions and I agree that Ferguson and his “models” have been totally discredited.
For what it’s worth I believe that we should follow what Sweden has done:”

    So much wrong with that

    – the idea that Ferguson’s model prompted unwilling politicians to impose the lockdown – false
    – the idea that the model has been discredited – false (it was badly written but it still was in the ballpark. Plus the numbers are probably an underestimate. Also he didn’t call for a lockdown)
    – the idea that Sweden didn’t have a lockdown – false.

There’s probably nowhere on the planet that hasn’t had significant disruption and social distancing because of this. Only in the la la land of “sceptics” imaginations is there somewhere where the virus was just completely let rip.

And we haven’t been under a heavy lockdown here for ages now. I’ve been out and about, eating in restaurants, drinking in pubs, etc. Those places are not as full as they used to be but it’s nothing to do with restrictions, people either don’t want to go or can’t afford to.

All I see is people whinging about non existent heavy lockdowns and the same people also whining about the measures that might steer us clear of such.

  21. Allan, Pete and co. are the real snowflake COVID bedwetters !

  22. – the idea that Ferguson’s model prompted unwilling politicians to impose the lockdown – false

Correct – the politicians were and are willing but just needed the pretext, even one from a geezer with a history of gross inaccuracy whose code doesn’t even get checked

    – the idea that the model has been discredited – false (it was badly written but it still was in the ballpark

So Ferguson’s model could only be in the ballpark if the ballpark were on another planet around another star

  23. Frank O’Dwyer –

    – the idea that Ferguson’s model prompted unwilling politicians to impose the lockdown – false

Actually true. The politicians were keen to reach for that shield.

    – the idea that the model has been discredited – false

You must be kidding. Not only has it been discredited, he was so mocked that his reputation will never recover.

  24. Pete – as one now sees, the politicians were never “unwilling”. They were and are prepared to do whatever they are told. Not one single MP has broken rank and called out the hoax.

From the above, Frank is discredited

  25. Allan

Just for the record, this virus is not a hoax. It has been responsible for tens of thousands of deaths in the UK, even if most of the victims had poor health prior to getting infected. That still means lives cut short and great misery for many thousands of bereaved families.

But for sure Ferguson is a totally busted flush. The prediction of 500,000 deaths was his third epic fail in twenty years. Let’s hope he never gets another chance to do this. He was interviewed on Radio 4 The Life Scientific a couple of weeks ago. Needless to say, his appaling record did not get a mention in a fawning 30 minutes.

  26. Just for the record, this virus is not a hoax. It has been responsible for tens of thousands of deaths in the UK, even if most of the victims had poor health prior to getting infected. That still means lives cut short and great misery for many thousands of bereaved families.

Peter – it is determined from the NHS’s own figures that the average age of those to whom a Covid-death is attributed is above the life-expectancy of males in the UK. The number of lives cut short is therefore effectively zero, whilst the number of those who died without pre-existing condition is statistical noise. Now for the very few people who actually did die from Covid (if it was indeed Covid given the gross inaccuracy of the test method), their loss is tragic for their families, but teh deaths from lockdown are

    https://www.rt.com/uk/501767-uk-excess-deaths-lockdown-coronavirus-heart/

Thousands of Britons who suffer heart attacks and strokes are dying at home instead of seeking medical treatment, a new study has found, as new government figures show 75,000 are projected to die as a result of lockdown measures.

    No Allan

Thousands of people well below the age of 70 have died. Most of them were either obese or had Type 2 Diabetes or other conditions, but they could have expected to live for years if not decades if they had not been infected.

And of course this has been the case all over the world. Are they all fiddling the figures? If anything it’s likely that many states (Russia, China, India, Iran) have covered up the true fatality rate, probably by hundreds of thousands.

  28. It’s a conspiracy

  29. Of course Phantom, it always is.

  30. Peter,

    “The prediction of 500,000 deaths”

    That (obviously) wasn’t a prediction.

  31. The rate of change of day to night is about 3 mins/day or 20mins/week at this latitude.

OMG – by June 2021, according to Neil Ferguson, there will be no daylight at all in the UK/US/Canada. Only a vaccine will save us

Thousands of people well below the age of 70 have died. Most of them were either obese or had Type 2 Diabetes or other conditions, but they could have expected to live for years if not decades if they had not been infected.

Strangely enough, that happens every year with flu delivering the coup de grace to the self-inflicted ill people.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/aug/30/swine-flu-obesity-link

    By sheer cohencidence……..

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/26/obesity-increases-risk-of-covid-19-death-by-48-study-finds

Hmmm….. could there some similarity between flu and Covid? Well, most at ATW will never know because it’s not the sort of thing that they think about. Indeed, many don’t think about anything at all, not even whether the ‘Gold Standard’ test – PCR – is actually applicable?????
