If he lies…….

By Patrick Van Roy On October 20th, 2020

PITTSBURGH — Shawn Steffee was at a political function in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, last Thursday evening when he started receiving an overwhelming number of calls and text messages. “My phone started going off like a slot machine. Initially, I had no idea what was going on,” he said from his home in Homer City.

Steffee, a Boilermakers Local 154 business agent and executive board member, soon found the flood of texts and calls were because Joe Biden lied about Steffee and his union supporting him during the ABC News town hall event last week. Host George Stephanopoulos noted Steffee by name in a question about the sincerity of Biden’s support of fracking. Steffee had told the New York Times that Biden’s sudden vocal support of fracking is inconsistent with his goal of ending the use of fossil fuels, and Stephanopoulos pressed him on Steffee’s statement.

“The boilermakers overwhelmingly endorse me, OK?” Biden snapped on Thursday, adding, “So, the Boilermakers Union has endorsed me because I sat down with them, went into great detail with leadership, exactly what I would do, No. 1.”

Except they didn’t.

  2. I guess he thinks that if he fights with reporters every day that Americans will think he’s a good president now

Is anyone here the least bit impressed by this conduct?

Never has there been such a public, complete breakdown of a president

  3. Almost feel sorry for him as lin laughing at a freak show in a Victorian circus Is cruel .
But he’s too dangerous for pity , too much at stake .
    Everyday is another berserk meltdown
Just can’t imagine him quitting Twitter , Even if he loses big time , he’ll be in his element nursing all his grievances .
But at least he can be ignored , and the world can sleep with a huge sigh of relief .
How is this gonna end ?

  4. Trump will have an exceptionally hard time adjusting to life out of power

He will be on TV and radio constantly, screaming and roaring about coups and plots, second guessing Biden and the others.

    Everyone’s an idiot, except him.

  5. What if the brand is so toxic no one will have him on their shows ?

  6. lol….. yeah right.

  7. It’s undeniable the scale of corruption of the Bidens and the system in which they swim, and that must include Trump:

    https://spectator.org/hunter-burisma-china-and-the-big-guy/

CEFC China Energy Company was China’s largest “private” (i.e., not outwardly controlled by Beijing) energy company. Hunter Biden was pushing to be hired by CEFC, which would form a new company for that purpose. An email from Hunter Biden reported by the Post said that one of the proposed deals with CEFC would be “interesting to me and my family.”

One of the emails revealed by the Post was sent to Hunter by James Gillar, an international consultant brokering the deal, on May 13, 2017. It said that Hunter would be either the chairman or vice chairman of the board. In addition, he would be paid “850” — obviously $850,000 — and that 80 percent of the new company’s equity shares would be split equally among Hunter and three other people, “with 10 held by H[unter] for the big guy?”

According to a Fox News report, the “big guy” has been identified by their source as Joe Biden, who may be elected president next month. Was the 10 percent held for “the big guy” intended as a bribe or kickback? And for what?

The ‘big guy’ is obviously up-for-sale, and so is every politician in DC

    Dems 9 million + , Reptiles 4.5 million

can begin to write the story of election 2020 as have votes now not polls ( colm !)

For every 3 Americans that voted , 2 voted for Joe , 1 voted for the Don

No reason to see this change whatsover .. expect the same all the way through

  13. USA Today has endorsed Biden, the first time it has ever endorsed a POTUS candidate. This how it explains its decision to its readers:

“For nearly four decades,” it said, “the editorial board has stood for certain core values: truth, accountability, civility in public discourse, opposition to racism, common-ground solutions to the nation’s problems, and steadfast support for first amendment rights. These aren’t partisan issues, or at least they shouldn’t be.

Donald Trump has trampled each of these principles, making more than 20,000 false or misleading statements, ducking responsibility for his actions, spewing streams of invective at his critics, trafficking in racial fear-mongering, governing more as the leader of the red states than of the United States, and relentlessly attacking the free press. Everything about Biden’s nearly half-century political career suggests he would do a far better job of respecting these values.”

  14. kurt

The votes are not being counted. Those figures are based on whether those voters had previously registered as Democrats or Republicans for primary voting purposes. It doesn’t determine how they voted now. Yes it gives a good indication but no actual ballots have been counted yet. They won’t be counted until each local area’s polling stations close on Nov 3rd.

  15. no you’re right colm and as many GOP are switchig this time to Democrat
we can push those ratios up to 3:1 in favour of Biden , thanks

  16. kurt

If you genuinely believe 75% of voters are going to vote Biden and 25% Trump , I suggest you go and put a bet on that outcome. With the odds that the bookies are putting on that result You will win a fortune 🙂

  17. lol they’re no longer taking spread bets, the markets closed a few weeks back
you’ve had your chances buckos, should net a £500 profit in a couple weeks
not saying that to make you jealous ( or am I ? ) 😉

  18. It amazes me the hate and the deep deep bullshit……

Kurt I worry about your sanity.

As for the rest of you on that side of the pond….. are you all stoned ? I know that’s not the case, so the rage has to be from what you’re being told in the Press. Your Press like ours have done you a great misservice.

Do me a favor please each of you write on this thread what you actually think Trump has Lied about, and what crimes YOU think he committed…. seriously write them out.

Show me I’m wrong. In my view and the Laws Trump has committed NO crimes. If he had the 4 years of investigating every aspect of his personal & business life the Democrat investigators found nothing.

The first 3 years of his Presidency has been the greatest economy since the 60s. Black American employment reached the highest levels EVER recorded, the same with women. Business was booming, manufacturing jobs have for the first time in over 3 decades grew instead of they steady shrinkage it had been doing. The most important thing that he accomplished in this area was the lifting of the restrictions on Fracking, making the US the world largest supplier of oil, and oil is the number one factor in prosperity.

Trump himself is Lewd, Crude, Rude, and Obnoxious, but his failings as a man have nothing to do with his Presidential Accomplishments.

Until the Chinese did their biological attack on the world the US was booming.

The election is in less than 2 weeks the difference between the 2 candidates in vote totals is usually less than a 5%, I’m glad to see all of your enthusiasm for Biden and on that side of the pond he’d be the perfect President. The gravy train would continue under him, where Trump has step by step been eliminating that gravy train.

So please take your time and WRITE OUT a list of his crimes and Lies. I’ll brt most of you won’t do it, and not because you can’t be bothered, but because you can’t name any.

  19. We’ve been commenting on it for four years.

Please look at A Tangled Web where all questions will be answered.

  20. Do me a favor please each of you write on this thread what you actually think Trump has Lied about, and what crimes YOU think he committed…. seriously write them out.

Well, I’m sure Trump has told lies because almost everybody does.
But I can’t comment on what lies and crimes he has committed in office, (if any), because I don’t have enough information, nor have I done enough research.
I make no secret of the fact that I don’t like Trump, mainly because of his business practices and the way he treats people.

  21. As for the rest of you on that side of the pond….. are you all stoned ? I know that’s not the case, so the rage has to be from what you’re being told in the Press. Your Press like ours have done you a great misservice.

From my USA Today comment above:

  22. So what Patrick is saying is Trump is really good, because for all of his faults (and there are many), the main thing be brings to the table is that it only took him 3 years to destroy Obama’s booming economy.

  23. The first three years of the Trump economy were a continuation of the Obama recovery.

All the economic charts show that.

MAGA Logic– The 2008 crash was the fault of Obama, who wasn’t in office then, and the 2020 crash was also the fault of Obama, even though it happened three plus years after Obama’s term ended.

  24. Trump has urged “Attorney General” Barr to open an investigation into Biden and no doubt the corrupt hyper-partisan lapdog Barr will oblige as always. He’s such a discredited figure that it will have no impact on the election but it will get wall to wall coverage on Fox-Limbaa.

The only things that could possibly change the outcome now might be an outbreak of war or failing that serious race riots and looting. Trump will be hoping that another white policeman shoots another innocent black, but two or three incidents on successive nights would be even better.

  25. Trump broke ties with AG Sessions because Sessions refused to do unethical things.

Barr thus far appears to be refusing to bring politically motivated prosecutions against Trump’s political opponents. I doubt that Barr will start any prosecutions in the final two weeks. It would blow up in Trump’s face big time if it was done.

  26. Amongst Trump’s many lies about the Coronavirus was one he gave at a press conference on late September where he expressed his frustration at FDA delays in approving vaccines for Covid 19. He claimed that any decisions on approving or delaying vaccines “needed White House approval” and he could instruct the FDA on individual drugs/treatments approvals. It was, as one of the FDA heads later told a Senate committee, completely untrue. The President of course does not have that authority.

  27. Trump pays way more tax in China than in the USA. His Chinese bank account would be an interesting read:

“But Mr. Trump’s own business history is filled with overseas financial deals, and some have involved the Chinese state. He spent a decade unsuccessfully pursuing projects in China, operating an office there during his first run for president and forging a partnership with a major government-controlled company.

And it turns out that China is one of only three foreign nations — the others are Britain and Ireland — where Mr. Trump maintains a bank account, according to an analysis of the president’s tax records, which were obtained by The New York Times…”

  28. The existence of a Chinese bank account isn’t a scandal

This is just gotcha on the Dems side

Obama’s booming economy saw the largest amount of both personal and business bankruptcies in American History.

  31. “Obama’s booming economy saw the largest amount of both personal and business bankruptcies in American History.”

Just because you keep repeating a lie doesn’t make it true. It just makes you dishonest.

  32. Well, I’m sure Trump has told lies because almost everybody does.

Dave admits he has no facts or basis in reality for his hate, he just hates.

  33. yeah we got the gelicals coming over , seems like ex RNC Chair publicly backing Biden has begun the trickle – steady stream – hope its a river
They all think alike , and like a flock of birds move away when its getting too hot to handle

    https://twitter.com/RVAT2020/status/1318907390629089280

Trumps crimes pat, you’ll have to wait till after the election for that
he has a grand jury in NY going after him – we’re only scratching the surface of his corruption. he is the POTUS and is abusing his office to block hundreds of cases against him.
your question is mischievous, as we all know a potus can’t be charged whilst in office

  34. There wasn’t an Obama boom or a Trump boom.

No serious person is using the b word.

There was a sustained recovery from about 2010 to the beginning of 2020. It was a continuum.

See this ( everyone but Pat, who won’t look at it )

  35. Peter From my USA Today comment above:

so you don’t know any either

  36. I could go on and on but you all proved my point, none of you can list anything.

Not one of you put up a list, just spin and bullshit…. where are YOUR LISTS?

  37. “Peter From my USA Today comment above:”

Yeah Peter, don’t you know that if it isn’t from far-right (often anti-Semitic) conspiracy theory sites then it isn’t true?

  39. “I could go on and on but you all proved my point, none of you can list anything.”

How’s your list of lies in the New York Times, or Washington Post coming? Nevermind your Democrats encouraging riots list?

  40. Patrick

I mentioned one of his lies above, about the FDA approvals. That’s just one I recently randomly read.

  42. According to USA Today Trump has lied on the record at least 20,000 times in four years. But the fact that Patrick yet again tries to claim that Trump never lies (ROFL) just shows how successful Trump’s gaslighting of the GOP has been. They are so brainwashed they automatically lap up what they know to be lies and filter out the real whoppers (eg, “I saw 9-11 from Trump Tower and watched those Muslims celebrating!”) Although I guess a good chunk of them believe that one too. What about you Patrick?

  43. so other than Colm you can’t come up with anything…..

You can quote all the leftwing sources you want, but those aren’t real and they aren’t yours.

List his crimes an lies in YOUR view, but as I said you can’t. You can parrot the propaganda from other places, but you can’t list your own and explain them…. as I said…

Baa Baa the sheep can’t formulate your own thoughts….. mostly because you don’t have any.

  44. “You can quote all the leftwing sources you want, but those aren’t real and they aren’t yours.”

    Yeah facts are left wing.

You asked for a list. I provided you with a list. Something you have been too much of a coward to do so. How’s your list of lies in the New York Times, or Washington Post coming? Or your list of Democrats encouraging riots?

  45. i have given you 940 and a link to the hundreds of lawsuits against him on going
you asked for a list, you got it .. now you’re crying ..PMSL
    make your mind up PVT

pick any one from the list and lets dive in

  46. yeah he ran away ….

  47. That crimes YOU think he committed…. seriously write them out.

Show me I’m wrong. In my view and the Laws Trump has committed NO crimes.

You’e changed your position now. It used to be show me where he’s done anything wrong and I’ll break out the pitchforks & torches, now it’s crimes

Emezzeling two million $ from a charitable foundation for personal use would be wrong in most peolple’s books, as would trying to excuse it as an accontancy error.

    As for lies…..

  48. I don’t think -although I also couldn’t possibly know – that he has committed any crimes in his role as President, but i do think what I have read that he has behaved with absolute moral and almost certainly criminal contempt in his business ethics and dealings, particularly how he has treated small suppliers he used and left broke. He has gotten away with those crimes because by an large the legal financial system favours big money over little money in the end.

  49. I could go on and on but you all proved my point, none of you can list anything.

Accusing others of lying about Trump, is a bit rich coming from a man who claims John McCain started a fire which killed 134 people, without providing any evidence for that claim.

  50. Pat’s being cute, Colm.

He’s more than aware of Trump’s dishonest dealings and indeed, tried to excuse them. Now that he knows that his unethical behaviour can be proven without doubt he’s risen the bar from anything wrong to criminal culpability.

  51. Trying to push the AG to prosecute his political opponents to aid in the political career of Trump to me is a criminal act.

  52. If Barr did initiate prosecution of any Bidens or Clintons after being badgered to do so by Trump, Barr would go down in history as a highly corrupt pawn of an anti constitutional president.

  53. “After she removes his microphone, Giuliani, 76, can be seen lying back on the bed, fiddling with his untucked shirt and reaching into his trousers. They are then interrupted by Borat who runs in and says: “She’s 15. She’s too old for you.”” https://theguardian.com/p/f7aeb/stw

There really is no bottom to this pit

  54. Barr would go down in history as a highly corrupt pawn of an anti constitutional president.

That’s already a done deal because Barr has been shamelessly partisan since he was appointed. It would be no surprise if he announced an “investigation” into the Bidens this week.

Trump hopes it would help him just like Comey announcing a new FBI investigation into Hillary’s email server helped him in October 2016. Barr is such a discredited figure it could just as easily work in Biden’s favour. But Trump is a desperate man at this stage and Barr is his lapdog.

  55. I think that any political prosecutions at this stage would absolutely benefit Biden.

As said before, Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing.

  56. “With just two weeks left in the campaign, Mr. Trump does not hold an edge on any of the most pressing issues at stake in the election, leaving him with little room for a political recovery absent a calamitous misstep by Mr. Biden, the Democratic nominee, in the coming days. The president has even lost his longstanding advantage on economic matters: Voters are now evenly split on whether they have more trust in him or Mr. Biden to manage the economy.

On all other subjects tested in the poll, voters preferred Mr. Biden over Mr. Trump by modest or wide margins. Mr. Biden, the former vice president, is favored over Mr. Trump to lead on the coronavirus pandemic by 12 points, and voters trust Mr. Biden over Mr. Trump to choose Supreme Court justices and to maintain law and order by six-point margins. Americans see Mr. Biden as more capable of uniting the country by nearly 20 points.

Over all, Mr. Biden is backed by 50 percent of likely voters, the poll showed, compared with 41 percent for Mr. Trump and 3 percent divided among other candidates. Most of all, the survey makes clear that crucial constituencies are poised to reject Mr. Trump because they cannot abide his conduct, including 56 percent of women and 53 percent of white voters with college degrees who said they had a very unfavorable impression of Mr. Trump — an extraordinary level of antipathy toward an incumbent president…”

  57. yeah truth is it would take months to prepare a case against Hunter Biden
Trump has 2 weeks and is just doing what he usually does blaming everyone except himself for why he can’t make progress and connect with voters

  58. Kurt

Just announcing a case would cause a political earthquake. If would be wall to wall on Fox-Limbaa and the NYP until polling day, they’d be wetting themselves with excitement.

Watch out for Trump giving Q’Anon an outright endorsement in the debate tomorrow night. And the Proud Boys. He will double down as always.

  59. A case now would be beyond stupid, legally unsound, and would cause significant harm to the nation

  60. Trump doesn’t know who the Proud Boys are, Peter.

A case now would be beyond stupid, legally unsound, and would cause significant harm to the nation

I agree but don’t think Trump would care, in an all out scorched earth attack

  61. Trump has never had a genuine sense of duty to nation; he never had a sense of duty to his customers or those sometimes naive persons who invested in his businesses with stocks or bonds ( see Taj Mahal etc )

It is all about him. It is all a con. He could take the country down with him.

    Anything is possible.
