What you don’t want to hear, from one you definitly don’t want to hear it from

By Patrick Van Roy On January 16th, 2021

Lets discuss President Trumps popularity. His polls this week have been the highest of his term. The career Politician’s goal now is to make him radioactive and unable to run or INFLUENCE any elections, they are failing miserably. Here is America’s Anchorman explaining it.

  1. How long will it be before someone corrects this one too – 5 mins, 10 perhaps?

    Or will they bother?

  2. Complete and utter nonsense. Authentic polls since that shameful Wednesday have shown his support crumbling and a clear large majority of Americans supporting impeachment. But for one moment let’s assume he still has the confidence of his supporters, that only speaks more about their abandonment of any moral standards they had in favour of blindly caring nothing about the shameful criminality of the man who currently is President.

  3. Hmmm, I underestimated our non-American commenters. As we see, it took only 1 minute.

Mind you, it wasn’t what you’d call difficult.

  4. The poll was from Axios a leftwing rag and his polls for the last two weeks have been at 48-51% support.

The point of the post, Rush, and Me, is if you think any of this nonsense has hurt the Trump brand among the 75 million that voted for him you are just simply suffering from wishful thinking.

  5. “The poll was from Axios a leftwing rag and his polls for the last two weeks have been at 48-51% support.”

Except the poll wasn’t from Axios, who are far from left wing (broadly centrist) and have a good reputation for accurate reporting (so of course the tinfoil hat brigade will discount them). The poll was from Ipsos MORI.

And the only polls that have him at 48-52 are Rasmussen. Everyone else has a substantial reduction in Trump’s approval following his attempted coup, closer to 35-60.

But don’t let pesky things like facts get in the way of a good rant.

  7. Worst first term ratings ever

    https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/16/politics/trump-approval-analysis/index.html

  8. you can play the numbers anyway you want Noel. the RCP avg is 39.7, but rassmussin is 48, the hill is 44, reutters 35, but all the numbers have held steady or risen since the election.

His support has increased or remained the same over the last month not decreased at all.

  9. “His support has increased or remained the same over the last month not decreased at all.”

That is just simply not true. Even Rasmussen, with all their issues, have a decline in Trump’s support. They have Trump at 48% approval now, but had him at 53% approval at the election. So even biased Republican polls have a decline Trump’s support.

You really need to stop making shit up.

  10. cnn’s opinion…. lol good one EP

  11. If you look at all the recent polls and compare the same company’s poll the week of the election, every single one of them show a decline:

    Morning Consult: 42% (then) – 34% (now)
    Rasmussen: 53% – 48%
    YouGov: 46% – 39%
    Ipsos: 39% – 34%
    Global Strategy Group: 46% – 36%

  12. The important point is the fact that so many millions of Americans , it might be 40 or 50 or even the full 75 million who still fully give Trump the thumbs up that demonstrates the level of corrupt shameful criminal behaviour in a President that doesn’t bother them. Patrick may think continuing levels of high support and loyalty among Trump voters is a good thing worth boasting about, when actually it is a shameful phenomenon demonstrating what low values those supporters have.

  13. Patrick has been entirely uncritical of Trump for four years.

    That’s pretty craven stuff.

You shouldn’t kneel down for a politician or anyone else, but he has spent about 1400 days doing that from morning to night.

  14. In just the last 2 weeks there have been to my mind 4 examples of behaviour by Trump that disgraces the office of President and merits his formal censure and impeachment.

1, The telephone call to the Georgia Governor where he pressed him to fake the results of the Election there.

2, the inflammatory and deeply irresponsible speech to the crowd on Wednesday where he lied and riled them up knowing he was sending an angry crowd over to the building towards the very polticians he had just accused of ‘stealing their democracy’

3, The Telephone call to Mike Pence – while the violent siege was in place – where he was still only interested in pressing Pence to change the EC count ratification and was uninterested in dealing with the security emergency.

4 – The words he used when he spoke for the first time about 4 hours after the attack had commenced where specifically addressing the violent mob he intentionally did not condemn what they were doing instead referred to them as ‘beautiful people’ who he ‘loved’ and could only just bring himself to ask them to withdraw.

All of those things are the actions of someone who has soiled the office he holds as the Head of State, and all Americans with any respect and love for their country should have been reviled by his actions. If after all that he still maintains the support of the large majority of Republican voters that only shames them not the rest of the American people.

  15. Except Trump has done NO corrupt shameful criminal behavior…. so there is nothing to condemn.

Name one thing he did wrong.

  16. The largest concern isn’t even coming from the democrat side of aisle, yes they’re in a panic that all their shenanigans have not hurt Trump stealing the election solidified alot of his support.

No the people in a real panic are the Elected members of the GOP they are scared to death that Trumps base will stay solid and come 2 yrs from now there will be a different kind of purge.

  17. One remarkable thing about Trump is that he gets away with hundreds of things that would be the ruin of any normal leader. From his fake tan and hair and his pussy grabbing and his general oafishness, all his lies that are immediately found out, then things like his agitation for weeks after his inauguration insisting/pretending that the crowd at the event was bigger than Obama’s, all the way to the things Colm lists here and more.

Another is that he holds people’s interest so well. He is politically a dead duck (No, he isn’t going to hold public office again and or be any kind of “influencer” either), but still probably more people are curious about what he’s going right now, what he’s thinking, what’s his next move etc., than are interested in what the next Pres. is doing.

I don’t like to talk about the psychology of it, as Colm doesn’t like that :-), but I can’t explain it in any other way. I’m sure we have all known people like that, someone who is embarrassingly self-centered, maybe also dominant, maybe even a “larger than life” character, but who for some reason always keeps folks guessing.

I’ve had several bosses like that over the years. They also weren’t clever in any way. But they are always people who aren’t bothered by doubt about what they’re doing, who don’t hesitate or ever self-reflect.

In politics, Ian Paisley was also a very similar character, as was Idi Amin, who Phantom often mentions in that context.

  18. No, he isn’t going to hold public office again and or be any kind of “influencer” either

that’s a judgement yet to be made, wait 3 months and we’ll see if that’s the case or not.

  19. Patrick

I listed 4 things I believe he did wrong and are grounds for disbarment from office. You may think they were fine or that he didn’t do what I claimed, but that’s a matter of our different interpretations.

  20. ok so i did a fun things and asked this graphics program to amalgamate all these faces into one , cut a bit of hair off and show me what ya got .
This was the result – amazing technology eh 😉

  21. Good to see Rush still at the coalface of righteousness and justice.

    Colm –

Your 4-point list is a fiction. None of it happened. Jeez, President Trump is on video urging his supporters to “peacefully” protest and the media has still convinced you that he riled up a mob to go berserk.

Someone in these here parts has long suggested that your eyes and ears are fine sensors and that the media lies about everything. That man is vindicated yet again.

  22. “His polls this week have been the highest of his term.”

Amazingly this isn’t even close to the dumbest thing a Trump supporter’s said recently.

Some of them are talking about his picks for his second term, still convinced he will have one.

Some dude on Twitter was claiming that Space Force is going to jam transmissions on Inauguration Day while arrests are made (for some reason, spilling the whole plan on twitter like a Bond villain).

Now people have always believed some weird stuff but still – the current levels of it do not seem normal.

  23. Some dude on Twitter was claiming that Space Force is going to jam transmissions on Inauguration Day ..

It clearly damns the 74 million(+) who voted for President Trump.

  24. Pete

You could actually make an argument for disagreeing with some detail and even my emphasis in my four points (the basics of which are all undeniably factual) but stating that they just didn’t happen is just lazy and shows you regard the whole issue as a joke. You just say whatever you want however fictional to ‘Big up Trump’

  25. 1, The telephone call to the Georgia Governor where he pressed him to fake the results of the Election there.

I listened to the whole 1 hour 2 min long call I heard him trying to get the gov to do the right thing and recall the legislature to fix the problems the gov and state secretary made. Not 1 threat.

2, the inflammatory and deeply irresponsible speech to the crowd on Wednesday where he lied and riled them up knowing he was sending an angry crowd over to the building towards the very polticians he had just accused of ‘stealing their democracy’

The invasion of the Capital began 20 min before he spoke. Did he inspire it by prcognition on behalf of those who had already started rioting?

3, The Telephone call to Mike Pence – while the violent siege was in place – where he was still only interested in pressing Pence to change the EC count ratification and was uninterested in dealing with the security emergency.

    This is a fantasy

4 – The words he used when he spoke for the first time about 4 hours after the attack had commenced where specifically addressing the violent mob he intentionally did not condemn what they were doing instead referred to them as ‘beautiful people’ who he ‘loved’ and could only just bring himself to ask them to withdraw.

out of context spun to rile you and it worked.

19 min after taking the inauguration oath the Washington Post ran the headline “Let the Impeachcment Begin” 10 months into his first year the House held it’s first Impeachment vote, it didn’t pass. The Second Impeachment made it Trial and failed, the 3rd Impeachment is a Unconstitutional Act to try and Remove a PREVIOUS President from office after he’s already gone.

3 bullshit attempts, 3 failures, plus 50 Million and 2 years trying to make a Frame stick where they couldn’t find an unpaid parking ticket.

Donald J Trump was proven by the Democrats to be the most Honest man to ever hold the office. 4 years of trying to find ANYTHING and not one piece of anything in spite of being the most investigated President in History.

They had to STEAL the election to get rid of him……. lol

  26. Patrick

At least you responded point by point to my list of four even though I disagree with your take on those events. You do make good points about the speed and ease with which Democrats kept wanting to impeach Trump and yes the Russia investigation di turn out quite flat, but the one big fat falsehood you keep repeating is that Biden stole the election. He didn’t, he won quite clearly and demonstrably , it wasn’t a surprise, all polls predicted it for months and it happened. The only attempt to steal the election is the one Trump has been energetically pursuing since polls closed that fateful day last November.
