  1. There’s loads of better (and probably more likely) ones online

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9171409/Trumps-letter-Joe-Biden-sparks-speculation.html

  2. Rubbish, because it’s Trump we all know he wrote it with lipstick on the bathroom mirror.

  3. I’ve visited the White House and Capitol, with a school group.

  4. But I really have to put this up again. You can’t have too much of pure beauty.

Has anyone else noticed an almost audible sigh of relief going around the world that this lunatic is now finally gone and will never return?

  5. He may be fairly forgotten in short order

He can go into the chapter of history as an angry Berlosconi

  6. Has anyone else noticed an almost audible sigh of relief going around the world that this lunatic is now finally gone and will never return?

Er no. Particularly not from the Middle East. Which muslims would you like Biden to kill first?

  7. Has anyone else noticed an almost audible sigh of relief going around the world that this lunatic is now finally gone and will never return?

    Yes. Yes I have.

  8. Among liberals, conservatives, centrists, the business community, all a resounding yes.

    No question about it.

We dodged a four year bullet. It was very bad but it could have been so much worse.

What in the world just happened.

  9. Some people are overly affected by headlines and TV commenatators. They’ll be gushing at Lady Gaga’s outfit next.

I can’t wait for that sigh of relief from suburban soccer moms to become a howl of anguish when they realise Biden mandated that men and boys can get changed next to their daughters before smashing their bones on the field.

  10. After all those years of vanity, vulgarity, absolute stupidity and lies, who can blame the sane world for a week or so of Te Deums.

There’ll be time enough to get stuck into Biden. Unlike your lot, nobody is going to worship him or defend him when, say, he breaks every rule of decorum and decency, molests women, spends 60 pc of his time on the golf course, indulges in positive orgies of self-preening, gets the whole world laughing at him, gets caught out with a cheap hooker and has to pay her to keep quiet, lets a time of one day elapse before going back on his word, makes enemies where there were friends, flirts with American’s enemies and with Nazis, gets the whole world laughing at him, and spends, spends, spends the nation’s wealth.

  11. An empty chair would have shown more leadership.

He had no idea what he was doing, and he was in no hurry to learn.

  12. Of course they won’t, Noel.

They will ignore that Biden molests young girls, infulges in orgies of self-preening too (you’ve not noticed what a tough-guy act he has?!), gets the whole world wondering how a clear case of dementia isn’t retired yet, Let’s a time of one day elapse before banning fracking which he explcitly denied he would do in debate with Trump (after promising to ban it on the campaign trail), makes enemies where there were friends, flirts with America’s enemies and with communists, takes Chinese money, sponsors a Bill to impose segregation on black children, spends spends spends the nation’s wealth and destroys thousands of jobs on day one literally woth the stroke of a pen.

You’re letting your dislike of Trump blind you to what a hopeless degenerate Biden is. You’re lucky that you can preen and cock to show how good you are, from a distance, without repercussions.

Millions of working class livelihoods are on the line for people you don’t give a stuff about. Millions of low paid jobs are on the line with Biden intent on amnesty for millions of illegals. None of that poverty and misery will touch you, so you don’t care.

  13. Hard as it may be for you to fathom, there are many of us for whom the prosperity of the US and the general wellbeing of Americans aren’t just weapons of political propaganda.

There will no doubt be many Biden policies that I don’t like; things like immigration and things driven by the inevitable Dem political correctness. His shortlisting possible VP’s to “someone who’ll be black and a woman” (or something like that) was already a bad start, and I laughed at it here at the time.

I’m also aware that his goal has always been first and foremost to become president (just like your guru), and only after that to help Americans, although the past 4 yrs have maybe shown him that he can do both at once. Then there was that McCarthy type hearing of a black rape victim, and, worse of all, his despicable plagiarism of a Neil Kinnock speech, word for word, with all the pathos and bravado that an American political audience apparently expects to hear. I liked Kinnock and it was painful to see his genuine message and passion hijacked like that.

Yes, yes, I know all about those things and expect little from Biden. I said that at the primaries and I say it now.

But I can’t for the life of me think of anyone sane in mainstream US politics who I wouldn’t have supported against Trump, including a lot of no-nonsense old-school Republicans.
You have your head too much frozen in an ideological block to be able to move like that.

  14. Actually the amnesty for current illegals won’t change jobs much. They’re already here, and they’re already working – a lot harder than Americans are.

The question is the new illegals or ” refugees ” that come in from this point on.

I don’t think that the views of guys like me or Noel have changed greatly over the past five years.

But the views of Patrick and Pete have changed wildly. Pete used to be a supporter of Ron Paul, now he is uncritical of one whose views are altogether different. Patrick used to be wanting war and invasion everywhere, and to never leave any country that US troops are in, now he wants to cut and run Trump style, because that’s what Donald says is good.

There has been a Trump Cult here, and only one ( Charles ) has escaped it. The other Trump supporters are still in an intellectual cage.

Everyone criticizes all US and other politicians here, but the cult is never critical of one man, ever.

  15. Noel –

I’m also aware that his goal has always been first and foremost to become president (just like your guru)

Sir John Cowperthwaite? You haven’t a clue what I think of Trump. Not you, Phantom or anyone else in here. You haven’t the slightest idea. To give you an idea, craven, cowardly and spineless are three adjectives I would use, early, in any profile I would write of him. Nevertheless he is actually more sinned against than sinner.

If his opponents disagree they should first admit that he is not a white supremacist (there’s not the slightest evidence for that BS accusation) and that Biden, a man with a number of racist acts to his name, attempted to force segregation on black children.

    Ohantom –

You’ll be delighted to know that my opinion of the great Dr Ron Paul is undiminished.

  16. that McCarthy type hearing of a black rape victim,

    Huh?

Not Anita Hill. She alleged harassment, not rape.

  17. Ron Paul was a good physician.

    I respect him

  18. “cough”

    Clarence Thomas

    “cough”

    High tech lynching

    “cough cough”

  19. You think that Anita Hill was lying?

  20. Yes, because I think that Clarence Thomas was being honest here when he spoke into the face of the man, Joe Biden, who tried to lynch his reputation and hang it from a tree.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZURHD5BU1o8

Joe Biden used Anita Hill, just as subsequent Democrats used and abused women to halt other conservatives like Thomas. These are his latter day reflections on the episode. He was clearly honest.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHTq_PtfzDo

If he had been a left wing black man speaking like that to a Republican his statues would already be weathered. This is undeniable.

  21. Both the Paul’s are professional conmen of the highest caliber. They do, do some good charity as Dr’s but they will kiss the baby while stealing it’s lolipop and say it was big governments fault that it happened….. but if you send $20 to the Ron Paul wackadoodle society by gum they’ll keep fightin to fix it….. the family is worse than a traveling preacher show.

  22. I call BS on that letter.

Now, if it had said… ‘Joe, you know I won bigly.’ You’d have to consider it.

  23. I like Ron and do not like Rand, but have never seen evidence of the slightest hint of corruption by either one of them.

  24. //You haven’t a clue what I think of Trump. Not you, Phantom or anyone else in here. You haven’t the slightest idea. //

Pete, would you claim that you don’t criticise and condemn certain things done by Obama or Biden that you would let go if done by Trump, even if he did something 10 times worse?

  25. I would say Pete would never condemn Trump while he was President because he regards political discussion in the blogosphere is all part of the ‘Culture War’ so why aid the enemy ?

  26. //he regards political discussion in the blogosphere is all part of the ‘Culture War’ so why aid the enemy ?//

So that excludes any honest discussion then. OK.

  27. Colm’s 1131 is spot on.

Pete and others here have always discussed Trump and other subjects from the point of view of a criminal defense lawyer- never discuss anything bad about your client unless you must, and even then don’t concede any point large or small

In the case of Trump, that has meant zero criticism of any kind throughout the entire four years.

This has always been amazing to me.

Those who have truly “ debated “ these things here were always discussing with others, because these guys were never going to listen.

  28. Pete can’t be singled out alone for that attitude. Just as we have had 4 years of a relentless polarisation around Trump, we are probably now going to get the same around Biden. We know that every post Patrick or Pete puts up regarding the actions/speeches/events of the Biden administration will be negative and there will be commenters here who will automatically defend everything Biden does. The sort of people who choose to comment on political matters are more likely to be rooted in partisan camps then genuine free flowing neutral observers. That’s what life is like in the world of political online sparring.

  29. In the case of Trump, that has meant zero criticism of any kind throughout the entire four years.

True Phantom, but that also has to be matched with the Trump detractors who would never bring themselves to acknowledge anything he said or did that they would have agreed with had it been done by a Democrat President.

  30. I praised Trump For attacking illegal immigration, for trying to do something with North Korea and for addressing China as an unfair trader, and other things

And I have already criticized Biden for his XL pipeline attack on Canada , an incredible bad act

Mahons criticized Obama and Dems for things

The usuals never did the equivalent. They won’t. It’s all Hannity / Baghdad Bob every day

  31. // there will be commenters here who will automatically defend everything Biden does.//

    Who are they?

    You’re probably thinking of Kurt.

  32. That’s fair comment.

Kurt has been in a Biden/Harris cult, every much as the others are stuck on the Trump Cult Glue Trap, unable to walk.

All these people should be subject to real analysis and criticism.

  33. The thing that baffles me about the hyper-partisan approach is… why bother?! You are commenting on a blog that attracts no more than a couple of dozen regulars, if that. Why not just have a normal discussion? If there’s a value in the discussion, coming to the table in honesty is a prerequisite.

There’s nobody here whose general outlook would align with my own, but those who have given me something to think about down the years are the honest ones: Noel, Phantom, Dave, Colm, Seimi, Paul, and others. I generally just skim through the posts from the propagandists and roll my eyes. I bet I’m not the only one.

  34. Peter, Seamus, for sure.

And mahons, who I am sure still looks in.

    Etc.

    Why bother indeed.

And the funny thing – if you give and take a little, you will have a far better chance of persuading others.

BTW one of the ( many ) reasons that I listen to the Joe Rogan podcast is that to the extent that he is political he is prickly nonpartisan. He jabs hard at ” both sides “. That’s a healthy approach, and you don’t give up any core principles when you approach life that way.

  35. //The thing that baffles me about the hyper-partisan approach is… why bother?! You are commenting on a blog that attracts no more than a couple of dozen regulars, if that. //

Yes, that’s the only thing that puzzles me too.

I presume it’s some kind of need they have, a valve to let off steam after having to listed to the “MSM” and their liberal politics.

We’re then sort of the whipping boys, It’s us that have to hear all their bullshit.

  36. Noel, Phantom –

Colm has it partly right. The left wages war relentlessly. I think they should be honoured by getting back what they give out.

Look, I meant it when I said that you have no idea what I think of Trump. My opinion of his character and presidency is lower than your opinions. Way harsher, in fact. I just don’t have time for the “OMG hurty tweets” people and the world really did not need yet another critic of Trump. I also have a mischievous sense of humour (humour is always wasted on Phantom especially).

In the end, although I have the lowest opinion of him and his actions, I’m glad he was the president and his victory in 2016 makes him as consequential as any president.

If I were American and even if I knew what was to come I would still have voted for him. If someone wants that debate I’m happy to have it.

  37. honest and true…. in your view the lesser evil.

  38. Phantom, on January 22nd, 2021 at 2:23 PM Said:

    Yes, all of them too.

  39. The left wages war relentlessly. I think they should be honoured by getting back what they give out.

Sorry old boy, but that’s a fantasy. “The left” hasn’t the faintest idea who you are.

I have the lowest opinion of him and his actions

Is that why you sniffed his stool for 5 years?

I also have a mischievous sense of humour

Get a life, Pete. Go on a dating app or something.

  40. Thanks Tarasov, for reminding me why I stopped bothering with discussion posts.
