  1. There has been a dramatic reduction in the number of new cases in the United States since early January

In NYC, the seven day average of cases is down 40%, and heading lower

Indoor dining and indoor pubs are opened now at 35% capacity in NYC

I think that this is a wiser approach than what I see in Ireland and in Britain. I do not support unwise draconian business destroying measures

  2. The damage done to business over the last year will has had devastating effects that have yet to unfurl.

  3. What is the condition of life in NYC Phantom?

Are you working on that post as the man on the ground, a citizens perspective of the City, Dining, Transportation, the general atmosphere.

Your view would be interesting to everyone.

  4. Biden’s inauguration had a magic effect on both the epidemic and the Democratic mania for forcibly closing businesses.

At root the reason why politicians do these horrible things is because Western man no longer takes responsibility for himself and his family. Everything is farmed out to government. Because everything is farmed out to government it is ultra risk-averse. Politicians are ludicrously blamed for every death and many things which have nothing to do with them. Therefore they are highly risk averse, to avoid being blamed.

  6. Speaking of government cock ups, Seattle passed a $4/hour hazard pay raise for some grocery store workers. Kroger supermarkets decided to outright close two underperforming stores rather than pay the raise. Now 109 workers are making $0/hour rather than the $16/hour that they were
making, because a city council thought they could legislate economics.
