Biden’s Overlords speak…..

By Patrick Van Roy On December 24th, 2020 at 12:44 am

Communist China on Monday demanded the United States to return to the Iran nuclear deal and end all sanctions placed on Tehran under President Donald Trump’s watch once Joe Biden moves into the White House.

“The US shall return to the Iran nuclear deal as soon as possible and without any preconditions, and the US should also scrap all sanctions imposed on Iran, other third-party entities and individuals,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in a video conference with other four signatories of the 2015 nuclear accord.

The Chinese foreign minister’s undiplomatic and stern tone underlines China’s belief in a ‘reset‘ in bilateral relations with a Biden-run administration. According to Chinese media reports, Beijing opened backchannel talks with figures close to the Biden team last month and wants a rollback on the tough policy course pursued by President Donald Trump.

The Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post reported the Chinese foreign minister’s remarks:

China called on the United States on Monday to return to the Iran nuclear deal without conditions and to lift all US sanctions against Iran and related entities.

“The US shall return to the Iran nuclear deal as soon as possible and without any preconditions, and the US should also scrap all sanctions imposed on Iran, other third-party entities and individuals,” said Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during a video conference hosted by the European Union and attended by foreign ministers from Russia, Iran, Britain, France and Germany – the other signatories to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) that US President Donald Trump exited in 2018.

China is not alone, expecting the U.S. to reenter the Obama-Kerry deal once the Democrats take the White House. Foreign ministers from Germany, Iran, China, Russia, and the United Kingdom ‘welcomed’ the prospect of Biden bringing Washington back into the fold of the deal disavowed by President Trump in May 2018.

“A joint statement released by [German Foreign Minister Heiko] Maas and the foreign ministers of Iran, China, Russia and the UK acknowledged their desire to see the treaty upheld and greeted the prospects of a US return to it under incoming President-elect Joe Biden as ‘positive,’” Germany’s state-run DW News reported Monday.

“With Joe Biden on board, all parties to the nuclear deal want to bring it back to life,” the German broadcaster noted in a separate article last week.

Mr Hancock says, he is “highly confident that we’ll get things back to normal before 2022”

It’s dragging on a bit, eh? Three weeks turned into “done by summer”, which became “autumn it is”, followed by Christmas, then Easter. They’re just going straight past 2021 now.

This as most of the South East and East Anglia are turfed into lockdown again, starting Boxing Day. From a lockdown fetish viewpoint Hancock has declared the house ablaze but that there’s no need to call the Fire Brigade until Saturday. The common sense viewpoint is that lockdowns and masks are pointless. By now only the fanatics and the gormless can still believe. No matter how many times we do it the Chinese Virus is still there. It will do what it will do regardless of what we do.

We are told that a new even more transmissable variant of the Chinese Virus has emerged from Seff Efrica, and that it has been found in the UK. Of course we are not stopping flights from there. Half the world has stopped flights from the UK for an apparently less transmissable variant, but oh no, none of that for us. SAGE and the politicans are nothing if not bone-headedly defiant in their beliefs. Come one, come all viruses.

It looks like 2020 is about to get much worse. Reports are emerging that a UK/EU deal is done. I remain opposed on the principle that anything acceptable to the EU is unacceptable to me.

It won’t be a free trade deal. A “free trade” deal is one sheet of paper with the statement: “We will sell you anything you want to buy from us, and you will sell us anything we want to buy from you.”

This will be a 50,000 page Byzantine document, years in the making, written in opaque leagalese. Champollion wouldn’t stand a chance of deciphering it.

I just hope someone in government has an eye for detail because Boris doesn’t. He’s a happy warrior, wave-the-flag-bright-new-day cheerleader. Across the table have been cheating, filthy snakes; the dirtiest of dirty dealers that the EU could find, and that’s a nest of dirty snakes. Which is another good reason why we should just fone for a Clean Brexit. The further we are away from that sinking shop the better.

New Virus Cases in Last 7 days per 100,000 population

By Phantom On December 23rd, 2020 at 6:28 pm

Took a look at the CDC Covid Tracker website today.

There are a number of ways to analyze where we are as respects the virus here.

One of the more useful metrics is to look at the number of new cases over the past seven days per 100,000 population. That gives you the rate. You can compare that rate with where you were in the past, and you can compare the rate in one state or city with other states and cities.

Well, this is what I see when I look at the –current– number of new cases over the past seven days as divided 100,000 in population

Oklahoma 115
California 111
Pennsylvania 71.2
NY State ( ex NYC ) 60
Florida 51.7
New Jersey 48
New York City 42

You are invited to double check, by checking the linked map.

New York City has for a very long time had among the lowest new cases per capita compared with most of the US.

Yet our restaurants are closed, while the restaurants many other states are open for business.

And it looks like the number of new cases here pretty much stopped rising early in December and may have started to go down

The Sun is dead right

By Mike Cunningham On December 23rd, 2020 at 11:19 am

Normally I discount  news titles such as the Sun as being unworthy of the title ‘Newspaper’. Its not being elitist, or snobbish: its just that I consider them suitable fare for the tables of greasy-spoon eateries, with their daily avalanche of gossip, soft-porn, tits, celeb-scandal ‘stories’; plus acres of sports coverage.

But I can now state that, in the true spirit of Journalism, and right at the very time when the installation might be so urgently needed: The Sun discloses that the NIGHTINGALE HOSPITAL, built with Army help and planning,, has been literally torn down. That vast space, fitted with hugely expensive equipment to serve 4,000 virus patients, is now gutted; completely and utterly empty.

Who gave the order to tear this expensive work down?
