On this date, two years ago, militant Islam struck in London, murdering dozens of innocent people.  Jihad was on our streets.

I see that the occasion has been marked with a ceremony at a memorial garden to the victims. Prime Minister Gordon Brown, London mayor Ken Livingstone and Olympics and London Minister Tessa Jowell joined relatives at King’s Cross Station.

But what exactly have these politicians gathered to remember? It can’t be the real menace that the Islamic Jihadists represent since Livingstone sympathises with suicide bombers and NuLabour stood by whilst the Jihadists plotted against us and did nothing in their multiculti stupor. It can’t be the need to go on the offensive against the Jihadists since they all committed to something called "community cohesion" which means permanent kid gloves time. In fact watching these political fools standing at such a solemn event, I wonder did they think anything at all? 

Islam’s war on the United Kingdom was manifest on 7/7 for all who wanted to see. Since that date, and remembering what almost happened last weekend, Islam remains a real and present danger. And yet, from where I stand, most of the British political class seek to avoid the harsh truth that Islam appears to be our deadly enemy seeking new ways to bring carnage onto our streets. There will be more days like 7/7 until we wake up to the fact that Islam and our western democracies are not compatible.

I see that Alan Johnston, the BBC reporter turned Hamas publicist-in-chief, returns to the UK today. I’ve seen enough in the past few days since he was released from captivity to conclude that this man has little if any interest in those captured Israeli soldiers, held by his pals in Hamas. He has allowed himself to be turned into a shill for the Islamic barbarians in Hamas, and I predict that diplomatic routes will now be opened for Hamas, all care of nice Mr Johnstone. When one considers the shocking violence and murders that Hamas carry out, and when one reflects on their genocidal hatred of the Jews, it is almost impossible to imagine how Mr Johnston can refrain from ANY criticism of these Islamic thugs. Then again, he does work for Al-Beeb.

It’s Live Earth Day, in case you hadn’t noticed. It’s a special day for global warming alarmists EVERYWHERE, and the Al Gore roadshow is coming to town, every town, via the global MSM. You can expect to be patronised by the most infantile egocentric group of people imaginable -pop stars! Yes today is the great day when climate change scientific luminaries such as Madonna, Sting, and the rest of the Peter Pan gang get to SAVE THE PLANET. Except ALL that they are doing is indulging their vanity and massive egos whilst giving the Rev Gore’s Presidential ambitions that little extra push, look out Hillary and Obama! Here’s a little reality check, something you can be sure will be missing from the MSM coverage..  

The total carbon footprint of the event, taking into account the artists’ and spectators’ travel to the concert, and the energy consumption on the day, is likely to be at least 31,500 tonnes of carbon emissions, according to John Buckley of Carbonfootprint.com, who specialises in such calculations. Throw in the television audience and it comes to a staggering 74,500 tonnes. In comparison, the average Briton produces ten tonnes in a year. The concert will also generate some 1,025 tonnes of waste at the concert stadiums – much of which will go directly into landfill sites. Moreover, the pop stars headlining the concerts are the absolute antithesis of the message they promote – with Madonna leading the pack of the worst individual rock star polluters in the world. Supermodel Kate Moss, another profligate polluter through her use of private jets, is producing a T-shirt for the event.

Today is a massive exercise in green propaganda, it is a coalition between the leftist political agenda and the right-on pop world agenda. My advice is to keep that dial permanently tuned to another channel. Gore and the gang can take a hike with their blatant ignorant propagandising – some of us look beyond even Madonna to discern what is happening to the Planet. 

To parents, the loss of a child must be so traumatic as to induce a state of mind which allows truly foolish statements to be made without prior reference to their intellects and brains. The alternative, that the foolish statements were made whilst in full possession of their faculties is, unfortunately, more often the case.

This last was what the parents of six-year old Kane Small did, further encouraging him to borrow a friend’s motor mini-bike and career around a track in a nature reserve as his own had been sold “due to the rising costs of using track facilities”. Unfortunately, the six-year old child lost control and crashed into a tree, dying in hospital from his injuries.

But what do the “grieving parents” call for? Some sense? Some forgiveness for what should really be called culpable manslaughter? An acceptance by their family and friends that the father and mother of little Kane were just plain ignorant of their responsibilities as parents? No way! They called for more mini-motor cycle tracks to be built by councils, or Lottery funding so that “ordinary people can take their children to use their motorbikes in a safe and supervised place”

And these people are actually allowed to look after children?

Well here’s a great tune that I have always liked, even though oddly enough I couldn’t disagree more with part of the lyrics, can you guess which ones they might be? 

I see that Archbishop Desmond Tutu has been jetting in to Northern Ireland to pick up a few honorary degrees from our local left wing Universities. (Aren’t they all?) Desmond is a lovely chap, full of grace, good humour and acute political insight.

Not really. In fact to be honest, I find him an insufferable little crank, sticking his nose in where it’s not wanted.  Did you read his outburst that global warming was “an act of aggression” against the African people? Wow – even the Rev Gore doesn’t quite go that far!!! Remember his accusation that the efforts by the US/UK to remove Saddam were “immoral”? Remember his condemnation of Israel for daring to defend itself from the death cultists in Gaza?

Throughout the Northern Ireland “peace process” he has been used to help instruct us into the ways of conflict resolution. In fact, when one considers that there is absolutely NO comparison between events in South Africa and Northern Ireland (although I do admit that Nationalists here love to betray themselves at being akin to the poor oppressed South African blacks, it’s mopery syndrome!) you have to wonder why anyone would pay a blind bit of notice to Tutu. He’s a Tutu who is always spinning, and I wish he would try to reduce his carbon footprint by just staying away.

Now here is a great song from a wonderful singer. Just listen to the intonation – the feeling – wonderful! It’s maybe not her best known but I think it is great!!! Hope you like it….. she was an amazing singer.

I’ve been meaning to recommend that you really should pay a visit to this site - The Nose on your Face! It’s quite brilliant political satire. I just love their byline "News so fake you’ll swear it came from the mainstream media". ATW was very honoured to be selected as one of it’s Site of the Day recently, but more importantly, it’s just a great read.

Sorry for the headline…but I couldn’t resist.  I woke up this morning intending to complete two quite interesting posts on issues particular to the US when this caught my eye:

Gordon Brown joins the EU and is now issuing speech “dos” and “don’ts” ?!?!?  Are we in a Harry Potter book with the Muslim terrorist as Voldemort?

 It does no good at all not to face and name the enemy. It only serves to obfuscate the nature of the problem we face.
