My wife has always been a big fan of the BBC Radio programme, "The Archers" – an endearing and old fashioned radio soap opera about the lives of country people. But liberals have been at work in recently plots – culminating in the first "gay  wedding" in Ambridge. Naturally the BBC were delighted at this "modernisation" of the plotline. But guess what – yes – people have been turning off in droves! Do the BBC care? Not a jot. The liberal agenda has to be pursued at ALL costs.

I’m sorry but the plan by the Democrat Party to vote next week on a stripped-down resolution condemning President George Bush’s decision to send more forces to Iraq, but declaring support for the troops, smacks of rank hypocrisy. It’s like saying "I love you so much I’m divorcing you!".

IF the Dem’s sincerely support US troops, (which they don’t) they should support the wishes of the troops who overwhelmingly seek to get the job done in Iraq. They need reinforcements to achieve that aim, but the Dem’s seek to deny them that help whilst simultaneously praising them. The opportunistic cant of Pelosi, Clinton and co is a warning of what lies ahead.

I wonder what you make of the news that a man freed after he was arrested over an alleged plot to kidnap a UK Muslim soldier has….shock horror… criticised the police investigation? Abu Bakr, who works in the Maktabah Islamic bookshop, targeted in anti-terror raids in Birmingham, also told BBC News the UK was "a police state for Muslims". Mr Bakr, one of nine men arrested during last week’s raids, was released without charge along with another man. He said he would be affected for the rest of his life by the arrest.

Yeah? Well, not as affected as the next of kin of those blown apart by militant Islamics on the London transport system back in July 05. Recovered Al Queda handbooks advise all captured Jihadists to cry victimhood since they realise a section of the West are gullible enough to swallow anything rather than the truth. It may well be that Mr Bakr is an entirely blameless man, in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fine. So were those slaughtered on the London underground. Islamic mopery needs to learn to get over itself.

The Night Has a Thousand Eyes

By ATWadmin On February 7th, 2007 at 10:08 pm

Just when you thought there was no other way this government could make driving one’s car even more difficult than it is already, lo and behold they devise a new plan.  Not content with festooning our road network with speed cameras designed to rake in as much lucre as possible, they now want to install miniature cameras in cat’s eyes.  Soon we will be the most paranoid car drivers in the western world.

Let’s look at what we have by way of roadside spying equipment.  Thousands of fixed cameras up and down the land;  roadside police vehicles filled with officers who get far more pleasure out of getting drivers travelling 5mph over the speed limit to part with their cash than they do in hunting down real criminals.  Now we will have to contend with thousands more cash cows for the government.

Make no mistake, speed cameras are all about making money.  A recent study showed far more accidents are caused by drivers who do not pay full attention to the road than ever are caused by speeding vehicles.  With their plans for congestion charging, rises in petrol, taxing and charging owners of large cars so much their wallets almost scream, speed humps and, now, cat’s eyes with additional technology, this depraved administration continues to show its detestation for the principle that the British people should be able to enjoy the cars they work so hard to buy and maintain.  Lest we forget this is the same government whose Deputy Prime Minister hailed a ministerial car to take his wife 200 yards so that her hair wouldn’t get blown about by the wind.  If you didn’t laugh you’d cry!!

Slugs on Slugger

By ATWadmin On February 7th, 2007 at 9:39 pm

I stopped posting messages on the Slugger O’Toole site some years ago, and am glad I did so.  This site has become little more than a vehicle for Irish republicans to vent their spleen.  What amazes me is that the insurrectionist excrementa who are so willing to criticise me from their ivory towers have not the decency to come and tackle my opinions on here.  They instead prefer to launch their tirades on what I regard as an increasingly second-rate weblog, knowing full-well that when I said I had no intention of ever posting on there again, I meant it.

So come on you rancid republican vermin.  Let’s do battle on here.  As for Fealty and Co, the oft-repeated condition of ‘ball not man’ musn’t apply when writing about this particular Unionist.  We’ll see how long Mr Fealty is prepared to abandon his cardinal rule for the sake of a Fenian critical gang-bang!

Death comes with a price!

While we, as a Nation have our differences; have many problems with an arrogant and, to some at least, an overbearing Government, we still retain some basic freedoms, not as many as we once held, but still a few!

I would ask you to read a few pages from this blog, and then sit back and count your blessings!

Hang on a second – what on earth do I mean by THAT headline? Well, I haven’t suddenly become converted to Irish insurrectionism (!) but I am pleased to read that only 13% of Congressional Republicans in the USA believe that global warming is primarily caused by mankind. Touchy-feely tax-loving Democrats, by way of comparison, have a 95% conviction that mankind is entirely to blame for global warming. You can figure why the media just luvvve them – the doom-mongers get a good press but those who take a more considered and scientific view are labelled deniers. Crazy world, eh? Glad to see the GOP has called this one correctly.

Just to let you know that I will be "live" on-air at 8.50pm (UK time) this evening – on the net – on Slugger Radio! We’re discussing the St Andrew’s Agreement – or the Belfast Agreement lite for slow thinking and loose moraled unionists! Give it a listen if you can. Tangled Talk Radio is also being feverishly worked on behind the scenes and I’ll update you on that asap!

They’re playing our song again; and again, and again!

The words in the heading were my first reactions when I heard the latest plans to modify, change or otherwise strangle the House of Lords. First proposed in the 1997 manifesto of the victorious New Labour Party, then led by the all-shiny and unbattered Tony, the call was for the complete transformation of the Lords, based on the published grounds that the Hereditary principle of son following father was wrong in these ‘Modern Times’ (my emphasis!). Nowhere, surprisingly enough, was there any mention of the fact that the Labour Party long detested the Upper House based on one thing alone, that being Class Envy! So, the majority of hard-working and, in the main, industrious Peers were forced out by the Commons, but since then, strangely, not very much has occurred in the way of change; mainly because the bulk of the Labour Majority, so overwhelming in the first two Labour Parliaments, could not agree on the way forward, and any attempt to do so was scuppered by a combination of a shrewd rearguard fight within the Lords,, and the shambles of proposals forwarded by Labour!

We also saw the beginning of the ‘Cash-for-Peerages’ row, and the infinitely worse second investigation into alleged attempts to ‘Pervert the course of Justice’. This two investigations  come into a Government which proudly placed on that same 1997 manifesto, the words “They have debased democracy through their MP’s who have taken cash for asking questions in the House of Commons”!

So we now see a new attempt by Labour to move the goal posts, with no less than SEVEN options upon which the Commons can vote, all in another sleazy move to remove the remainder of the Hereditary Peers, the people whom they detest so greatly, but who, strangely enough, they seemed all to keen to get their monetary supporters to join with after getting their cash on the nail, after disguising that same cash as ‘commercial loans’! Blair is stated as seeking a legacy; he would be better remembered if he told his machine-politicians and lickspittles to sort their own House out, and leave the Lords to posterity!
