Terrorists Talk Shop

By ATWadmin On January 18th, 2007 at 12:53 pm

What a farce!  Gerry Adams, who says he isn’t part of an illegal terrorist organisation (ahem) is meeting those who are members of illegal terrorist organisations to pledge that the Provo strategy of ‘supporting’ the PSNI and the British criminal justice system is in reality a step towards…….what was that cobblers he came out with?………oh yes, that’s it: ‘A peaceful way to achieve political change, equality, justice and ultimately Irish freedom.’

In another plunge still further into the progressive abyss of delusion he states that ‘armed struggle was never a republican principle. It was an option of last resort in the absence of any other alternative.’  Correct me if I’m wrong, but I never knew that the political wing of the IRA had been a proscribed political party.  I must have missed that one!  May I remind this alpha-scumbag that of the 3523 people killed during the troubles, 1798 of them were civilians.  Oh yes, plus a horse.  Kidnapping and butchering Shergar was crucial in the drive for ‘Irish’ unity as Shergar had neighed opposition to an all-Ireland anschluss on numerous occasions whilst chewing on his hay.

What I can’t fathom is how the IRA have a strategy to deliver this anschluss, with or without support for the PSNI and irrespective of whether that support is real or not.  The only way in which Northern Ireland’s annexation can take place is by fulfilling the essential constitutionally legal criteria (some of which isn’t even included adequately in the Belfast Agreement) on the back of a referendum in both Northern Ireland and the Republic.  When it comes to winning support in Northern Ireland (let’s forget about the ambivalence in the South) there is an insurmountable bloc called the British majority.  How pray does Gerry and his cronies hope to get around that one!?

Adams’s meeting should be seen as nothing more than one terrorist hob-nobbing with other terrorists.  If they are wanted men in the United Kingdom, Adams is breaking the law if he meets them on British soil and does not disclose their whereabouts to the police.  I don’t suppose that little fact crossed the minds of the MSM.

Just tell it like it is!

You may remember that I have posted before on the subject of South Africa, and in specifics to the FIFA World Cup due to take place in 2010 within that sadly beautiful country! So when I link to a very senior Zulu politician who warns his fellow-countrymen that they are in danger of losing the battle for credibility, I believe that people should take notice!

This is a man who has, through his Zulu nation’s own bloodthirsty efforts, gained some notoriety in the political life of South Africa. His long-time leadership of Inkatha, the very conservative Zulu National Party, which fought long and bloody conflicts for political domination in Natal with the communist-leaning African National Congress has been dominated by his desire to lead his country, never mind his own nation, and, frustrated by the superior numbers of A.N.C. followers in South Africa as a whole; seems intent on causing as much political mayhem as possible.

The Zulu mentality, which produced such battle honours as ‘Isandlwana’ is probably the only one which could produce a statement advising of imminent failure and be taken seriously by world opinion; because as a nation, they normally never admit defeat, preferring to fight until beaten or dead!

I still recall sitting alongside a very old, wizened Zulu nightwatchman on board a British freighter docked in Durban harbour swapping beers and stories, and I remember the words he used when he spoke of his grandfather’s war with ‘the white man’. He said “The younger men were positioned at the front of the battle, and the older, more experienced, at the rear. If the young ones moved forward, they might die; if they retreated, they would die!”

If a Zulu politician such as Mangosuthu Buthelezi says that the World Cup is in doubt, FIFA should look elsewhere!

I thought this was an excellent post over on Power Line and it raises some very fundamental questions about journalistic integrity…

1. Yesterday, Kofi Annan’s former right-hand man at the United Nations, Benon Sevan, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for bribery and conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with the U.N.’s Oil for Food program. Does the fact that the Oil for Food program turned into one of history’s biggest frauds, while propping up Saddam’s regime in the meantime, discredit the U.N.? Why not?

2. Does the fact that U.N. peacekeepers have repeatedly used their positions of power to extort sexual favors from female refugees discredit the U.N.? Why not?

3. Does the fact that Saddam was "taunted" during the last moments before his execution, and someone filmed the execution with a cell phone, discredit the new government of Iraq? Why?

4. Of the news stories referred to in 1 through 3, which is most important? Least important?

5. What accounts for the differences in the attitude manifested by Western reporters and editors toward the new government of Iraq, as compared with their attitudes toward the United Nations?

shilpa.jpgI know I covered this yesterday, but since then the story has gained INTERNATIONAL dimensions, with globe trotting C02 emitting Gordon Brown condemning the alleged "racist remarks" made on the Channel 4 Big Brother programme about Bollywood star, and BB housemate, Shilpa Shetty. (Phew, glad I typed that surname correctly!) There have been reports of outrage in India, with a small-scale protest in the eastern Indian city of Patna which saw the burning of an effigy. (An effigy of WHAT?- Jade Goody, hopefully)

Now, a few points to be made on this.

1. It shows the raw POWER of the MSM, in so far as it can take a non-story, a real non-event in the greater scheme of things, twist it into self-loathing "Racism" and then turn it into an international crisis for the Blair government whilst simultaneously portraying Britain as a racist nation.

2. I bet Channel 4 are delighted at all this publicity. Their wretched low-brow trash programme will get record ratings, I forecast.

3. If Sheety is upset by the behaviour of her fellow TV guests, why not walk out? She’s an undeniably beautiful looking woman but her participation in this ugly programme does her no credit.

LEGIONDHONNEUR.jpgI see that the French prime minister has presented British playwright Harold Pinter with one of his country’s highest awards, the Legion D’Honneur. Dominique de Villepin gave the award at a ceremony at the French embassy in London. Pinter, awarded the 2005 Nobel Prize for Literature, is widely regarded by luvvie lefties as the UK’s greatest living playwright. He is also well-known as an outspoken critic of US and UK foreign policy. He has spoken out strongly against the war in Iraq and once labelled Mr Blair a "deluded idiot". Here are a few other comments by this "great" playwright…

"The USA is intent on controlling the world and the world’s resources."

"Bush is on a par with Saddam."

"Please wash the cucumber sandwiches down with a glass of blood, with my compliments." (In an open letter to President Bush)

"Israel’s injustice to the Palestinians is an outrage.’

You can understand WHY the left JUST love him. De Villepin himself is a loathsome specimen so who more fitting to honour the wretched Pinter?

adverts.jpgFascinating to think that 30 years have now passed since self-confessed murderer Gary Gilmore was strapped to a chair before a firing squad and uttered his famous last words: "Let’s do it."

The controversial execution that marked the reinstatement of the death penalty in the United States. (I remember buying a single by a punk band called The Adverts entitled "Gary Gimore’s eyes" – their finest moment, btw) I see that Amnesty International are jumping up and down about this anniversary – they naturally oppose justice being carried out.

I remain firmly IN FAVOUR of the death penalty, and in that regards I am joined by a majority of people here in the UK. But our political leaders have opted out of reflecting our will that this wish be implemented. My basis for this is both Biblical and practical. Dead murderers tend not to re-offend, I’ve noticed. The Bible also instructs us to ensure that those who knowingly take life, forfeit their life. The sooner we leave the EU, and assert the will of the British people to put to death mass murderers, terrorists, paedophile killers and the like, the better.

1778 – Captain Cook becomes the first European to set foot in the Hawaiian Islands.  Cook was to make another two trips to the archipelago before being ambushed and killed by the natives a little over a year later.

1788 – Britain establishes a penal settlement at Botany Bay in Australia.

1967 – In the USA Albert DeSalvo, the ‘Boston Strangler’?, is sentenced to life in prison.  To this day lingering doubts remain as to whether DeSalvo was indeed the Boston Strangler.

1985 – Irish actor Wilfred Brambell, famous for playing Albert Steptoe in the classic BBC comedy Steptoe and Son, dies at the age of 74.

1985 – US officials walk out of a World Court case concerning US ‘paramilitary’ activities against the Nicaraguan government.

1991 – The Israeli cities of Tel Avia and Haifa come under attack from Iraqi Scud missiles during the Gulf War.

I wonder what you make of the news that the High Court in the Irish Republic has refused to extradite an Irish Life accountant who mowed down two young children in Hungary while driving at 75 to 80kph in a built up area?

Ciaran Tobin’s car mounted the footpath in a built-up area of Budapest in the accident seven years ago, killing a five-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl. A High Court judge yesterday refused a request for Tobin’s extradition by the Hungarian authorities, who wanted him to serve a sentence imposed on him by a Budapest court in his absence for negligence causing death in April 2000. Mr Tobin from Cairn Manor, Ratoath, Co Meath, who is a senior manager with Irish Life plc customer services, Abbey Street, Dublin, was working for the company in Budapest at the time of the accident. Yesterday, the High Court turned down an application by the Hungarian authorities to extradite the father of two from Ireland. Mr Justice Michael Peart said he was refusing the extradition request because he was satisfied that Mr Tobin’s departure from Hungary could not be defined as ‘fleeing’, as had been contended on the extradition warrant. Mr Tobin (41), was convicted in his absence by a Hungarian court in 2002 of negligent driving causing the deaths of the two children after his car mounted a footpath in a built-up area of Budapest on the afternoon of April 9, 2000. A three-year sentence was imposed, which was later adjusted downwards on appeal to 18 months.

As a result of the incident, Marton Zoltai (5), who was standing on the footpath, and Petra Zoltai (2), who was sitting in a pram at the time of the accident, were both killed.

In his judgment, Mr Justice Peart said that he accepted Mr Tobin’s argument that he and his family left Hungary, on November 30, 2000, following the completion of his work in that country, and that he had never “fled” Hungary.

Irish Courts have shown a disturbing reluctance to extradite its citizens, even when as in this case, it is clear that a terrible crime has been committed.

Over the years, we in Northern Ireland have also observed this Irish Judicial tendency to wish away the hard fact that Irish people, just like the rest of us, are capable of doing great wrong and must be made amenable to justice. not sheltered from it!

The family of the Hungarian kids deserve better, I have to say.

Carter-Yasser.jpgI frequently refer to Jimmy Carter as America’s worst ever President and like a true stalwart he just keeps providing further proof of this.

It is revealed today that back in 1987 Jimmy Carter wrote to the U.S. Justice Department’s Office of Special Investigation pleading for "special consideration” for a man proven to have murdered Jews in the Mauthausen death camp in Austria.

Martin Bartesch, who had immigrated to the U.S. and lived in Chicago, admitted to Sher’s office and the court that he had voluntarily joined the Waffen SS and had served in the notorious SS Death’s Head Division at the Mauthausen concentration camp where, at the hands of Bartesch and his cohorts, many thousands of prisoners were gassed, shot, starved and worked to death. He also confessed to having concealed his service at the infamous camp from U.S. immigration officials.

So, when he wasn’t trying to work things out on behalf of his pal, Arafat, he was trying to get a better deal for guilty SS Guards. What a guy! – little wonder the international political left felt pleased  to honour him with a Nobel Peace Prize.

PS  And then, when you think he can’t SINK any lower, Carter gives a little more. Interviewed on Al Jazeeera TV, Carter explains "Well, I wasn’t equating the Palestinian missiles with terrorism.” These are the missiles that slaughter innocent Israelis. But they’re not terrorist missiles in Jimbo’s mind.  Gotta hand it to him – he really must HATE the Jews.

795151-636683-thumbnail.jpgAs the MSM becomes increasingly hysterical  about global warming (Have you seen ITV’s tub thumping nightly reports from Antarctic? It’s the end of the world, I tell you!!) I think it is important that at least the blogosphere provides space for those who do not agree with EVERYTHING that is being rammed down our throats in the name of so-called science. I came across Melanie Phillips thoughts on the Stern Report and was impressed by the following

The British government’s chief scientific adviser, Sir David King, has said that global warming is a more serious threat to the world than terrorism. His remarks are utter balderdash from start to finish and illustrate the truly lamentable decline of science into ideological propaganda.

Sir David says the Bush administration should not dismiss global warming because: 1) the ten hottest years on record started in 1991 2) sea levels are rising 3) ice caps are melting and 4) the ‘causal link’ between man-made emissions and global warming is well established.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, and wrong. There is no such evidence. The whole thing is a global scam. There is no firm evidence that warming is happening; even if it is, it is most likely to have natural, not man-made causes; carbon dioxide, supposedly the culprit, makes up such a tiny fraction of the atmosphere that even if it were to quadruple, the effect on climate would be negligible; and just about every one of the eco-doomster stories that curdle our blood every five minutes is either speculative, ahistorical or scientifically illiterate.

To take a few examples from Sir David’s litany.

1) Sea levels are rising. This claim is not the result of observable data. Like so much of the global warming industry, it is the result of frail computer modelling using dodgy or incomplete data. It is therefore not an observed value, but a wholly artificial model construct. Furthermore, the data fed into the computer is drawn from the atypical North Atlantic basin, ignoring the seas around Australia where levels have remained pretty static. And anyway, , sea level rises have nothing to do with warmer climate. Sea levels rose during the last ice age. Warming can actually slow down sea level rise.

2) Ice caps are melting. Some are, some aren’t. Some are breaking up, as is normal. But some are actually expanding, as in the Antarctic where the ice sheet is growing. The bit of the Antarctic that is breaking up, the Larsen ice-shelf, which has been causing foaming hysteria among eco-doomsters, won’t increase sea levels because it has already displaced its own weight in the sea.

3) The hottest years on record started in 1991. Which records? The European climate in the Middle Ages was two degrees hotter than it is now. They grew vines in Northumberland, for heaven’s sake. Then there was the Little Ice Age, which lasted until about 1880. So the 0.6% warming since then is part of a pretty normal pattern, and nothing for any normal person to get excited about.

4) The causal link is well established. Totally false. It is simply loudly asserted. Virtually all the scare stuff comes from computer modelling, which is simply inadequate to factor in all the — literally– millions of variables that The problem we face is the lack of scientific reason. Global Warming has become a religion for some. It has transformed itself into a doomsday cult endorsed by the liberal intelligentsia, the tenured scientific community, and politicians on the make.

By all means let us debate this topic, but surely the closed minds of the apostles of global warming constitute every bit as much a threat to our future as their outlandish claims of global meltdown?
