IRA MAN.jpgI see that the IRA/Sinn Fein publicity machine is still working with the planted news story today being that…

“Sinn Féin may decide today whether to call a meeting of its national executive to discuss policing. The party was discussing the issue late last night.”

Look, this is all a no-brainer. The Republicans WILL play their role in the planned political choreography for early next year. They WILL call a meeting to endorse the PSNI, subject to this that and the other caveat. This WILL ensure that an election goes ahead in March IF the DUP are so craven and stupid as to accept the words of gangsters and liars.

At the moment, the great media game is to pretend that IRA/Sinn Fein might NOT call such a meeting. I’m sure this will be presented by the toothless MSM as one that will “go down to the wire” and then, when they do as I predict, it will be presented as “seismic” “historic” “earth-shattering” etc etc. More nauseous peace-processing. Of course any thinking unionist will know that the faux words of terrorists MEAN nothing.

zawahiri_afp203body.jpgAnd just so we are CLEAR as to how the Islamist killers see the US mid-term election results……

"In a portion of the tape from al Qaeda No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, made available only today, Zawahri says he has two messages for American Democrats.

"The first is that you aren’t the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen — the Muslim Ummah’s vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq — are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost…."

Zawahri then calls on the Democrats to negotiate with him and Osama bin Laden, not others in the Islamic world who Zawahri says cannot help.

"And if you don’t refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate…."

Ok Nancy, Hillary and co –  time to start talking……? Seems the celebrations of the Dem victory DID extend to the caves where the barbarians lurk….

liamSWNS221206_228x157.jpgDid you read about the seven-year-old English boy in a wheelchair who has been left in tears after being banned from the school Christmas party – because his parents objected to him taking part in Hindu celebrations?

Liam Walker’s parents withdrew him from the Bristol school festivities marking the Diwali festival because they believed the religion’s karma theory suggested he was being punished for previous sins. In retaliation his headteacher banned him from any Christian events, including the school Christmas party where 200 youngsters exchanged gifts and learned about the nativity story. Astonishingly, the school does not even have any Hindu pupils.

Just let me summarise this for you.

The school, celebrating the Hindu festival of Diwali, has NO Hindu children. Yet because a non-Hindu pupil refuses to participate, that pupil is punished.

Sack the Headmaster. We need to stop this State school madness.

Monica McWilliams.jpgCan we PLEASE abolish the Northern Ireland so-called "Human Rights Commission"? This freakish organisation, headed up by the repellent Monica McWilliams, is such a waste of tax-payers money. Established under the corrupt terms of the Belfast Agreement, it provides no useful function and instead merely facilitates the perpetual victimhood of the Irish nationalist agenda dressed up in the hollow rhetoric of human rightology.

Monica has delivered her Xmas message demanding that her useless quango be allowed to investigate allegations of human rights abuses involving MI5 or MI6 in Northern Ireland.

Monica scrupulously avoids dealing with the TEN OF THOUSANDS of human rights abuses carried out by the IRA terrorists that she happily supported in Government. Payback for such cowardice was her neat little fatcat quango-job. This Commission is an affront to decent people and I view it with nothing but complete contempt. Every penny it costs us is a penny too much.

McWilliams and her ilk are parasites that feed off the UK tax-payer, whilst assiduously cultivating their own narrow anti-British political agenda. They have no RIGHT to proclaim anything in the name of Human Rights.

rowan_williams_druid.jpgWouldn’t be Christmas if we didn’t have to endure some seasonal inane utterances from part-time Druid and full time Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams. He, along with the leader of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, is on a grand tour of the Middle East, and Williams has spoken off the persecution that Christians experience in Iraq.

Naturally, he cuts to the chase and blames……British Foreign Policy.

Grotesque. This clown cannot bring himself to place the blame for such persecution where it clearly belongs …. at the feet of those intolerant practitoners of the Religion of Peace whose hatred of Christians is evident throughout the Middle East, not just in Iraq.

Williams is the very embodiment of the useful fool, spreading weakness and dhimmitude wherever he goes.

Merry Christmas Everybody!

By ATWadmin On December 22nd, 2006 at 10:35 am

Well I’m off later tonight for a few days away with my family and my thoughts over this festive period.  I will be returning to ATW on Thursday, December 28th.  It will be very different this year without my best friend to celebrate with me.  On the other hand, I am steadfast in my belief that he will be having a far happier time than any of us in this world can comprehend.  It is that which gives me courage.

I wish to take the opportunity of wishing people a Merry Christmas.  I would like to thank David, Alison, Mike, Tom and Richard for their contributions to our growing site.  Thanks to the regulars who keep us on our toes – especially the likes of Colm, Aileen, Ivan, Patrick and Monica.  I can honestly say this had been a bad year for me (losing a loved one is never easy), but I look forward to a better 2007.

It is important to remember that the season of goodwill is primarily about the birth of this gentleman.  It is not about material possessions, gluttony or rubbish on the television.  Too many in our society are quick to forget that fact so I ask people here to keep the birth of Jesus Christ firmly in their thoughts over the next few days.  Enjoy the time you spend with your respective families.  I think Christmas really emphasises the importance of having a close family around you.  We should also reflect on those who will not be able to come home this year.

Before I depart I would like the remind everybody in the UK that Jaws is on ITV1 tomorrow evening at 11:45.  It should be the duty of everyone to tune in and be enthralled once again by the best movie in the history of world cinema.  In fact, should I ever form a political party, my first manifesto commitment would be the compulsory screening of Jaws every night of the week.  Once again, a Merry Christmas and God Bless!

I wrote to my M.P., one Roberta Blackman-Woods, as quoted below:-

Do you support the moves by the Northern Irish Secretary to move and facilitate the entry, into a devolved Government, of an unreconstructed bunch of terrorists and murderers?
As the IRA is still active, alongside it’s so-called Loyalist fellow-travellers, as is detailed within this Belfast Telegraph article, would you not agree with me that it is a stain on the memories of all those who died to get this bunch into Stormont?

Her reply is quoted verbatim:-

"Thank you for your correspondence of the 30-11-2006, the contents of which have been noted. I strongly support the move by the Secretary of State for Nothern Ireland to reinstate the devolved power sharing government. I feel that this will go a long way to ensuring peace and stability and greatle benefit the people of Northern Ireland."

A true object lesson in ‘how not to answer a question!’

An Idiot’s Guide to A T W Commentary

One of the delights of the ATW blog is the diversity of opinion by its reading audience. Even the casual reader will note that the predominantly conservative posters view the word “diversity” with the same fondness that those of royal blood view the word “guillotine”. Nonetheless, diversity is the life blood of the ATW debate.

This award winning post, made possible by the efforts of Mike Cunningham who staged an intellectual contest not unlike the race to develop the atomic bomb, is served to give the uninitiated some guidance in commentary on the blog.

First, note there are certain themes which have recurring posts. The Fool in the Crown that is Tony Blair, the oxymoron that is the United Nations, The Flat Earth Theory that is Global Warming, the infallibility of the state of Israel and Elvis Costello, and of course the deterioration of all we hold dear by the enemies of freedom, namely the media, liberals, gays and Irish nationalists.

Fear not, gentle reader, for the ATW conservative posters display a tolerance of diversity, or at least diversity of opinion. Usually, the hosts of the posts are far more tolerant than the individuals “topic stalkers”. These topic stalkers appear as if summoned by Gabriel’s horn to discuss one topic in particular upon which they have an infinite ability to opine. These lunatics are best avoided in direct debate, but if you have to encounter them realize that they are profoundly disinterested in debate itself and write merely to denounce. They are oblivious to irony and sarcasm sails over their heads.

Feuding can be fun when commenting, and I have engaged in my share. Try humor, though not of the “your mommas so fat” variety. Angry exchanges inevitably deteriorate into unsophisticated name calling without the satisfaction of being able to physically strike one’s adversary. Self-depreciation disarms some opponents and provides the opportunity to convince some of the error of their ways. The best tactic is to slowly draw your adversary into a position where they reveal their true feelings out of frustration.

Presenting a thesis on the particular topic or citing multiple internet articles does not advance ones position. If readers wished to be subject one-sided lengthy diatribes they would not be reading this blog. Instead they would be engaged in such unholy vocations as the practice of law or television news.

Lastly, recognize that preaching to the choir is all well and good, but convincing an opponent and/or the readership is not done by mere recitation of the tired mantra of any political party but rather through original ideas and arguments made for more than the mere sake of argument itself.

How Times Change

By ATWadmin On December 22nd, 2006 at 9:43 am

Some of our readers will be familiar with the name of John George Haigh.  Born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, in 1909 (did you know more British serial killers have come from Yorkshire than any other part of the country?  Hardly a recommendation is it!) he went on to find notoriety as the Acid Bath Murderer.  He was convicted of killing six people (although he claimed he had murdered two more).  He was not what you would call an everyday kinda guy.  After despatching his victims he always took care to drink a cup of their blood (like you do!!) before dissolving their bodies in baths of sulphuric acid.  After some clever detection he was captured, sent to trial at Lewes Crown Court and was eventually hanged at Wandsworth Prison on August 10th 1949.

In those days it was illegal to publish sensitive material about crimes committed before the commencement of a trial.  However, the Daily Mirror decided to emphasise the vampire aspect of the crimes (at this point Haigh was still protesting his innocence).  Haigh issued a complaint against the newspaper and its editor, Sylvester Bolam, which was upheld by the judge.  Not only was Bolam sentenced to three months imprisonment, the company was also fined £10,000 – a huge sum back in ’49.

My goodness, how times have altered the power of the media.  Haigh, a man eventually convicted of six murders, had the power to upset the infringement of his integrity by a probing newspaper.  Contrast that with the treatment afforded to Tom Stephens, who has now been released without charge on police bail.  It is highly likely, judging the actions taken by Suffolk Constabulary against suspect Steven Wright, that Stephens is guilty of nothing more sinister than some off-colour sexual habits and a liking for bedding prostitutes.

Most of us probably regard his behaviour as morally questionable (I certainly do).  He sounds like a sad and lonely individual who needs to be pitied by those of us with firmer sexual principles.  What I find extremely uncomfortable is that we find ourselves in an age where trial is now conducted by media and not by the due processes of law.  This man has had his name, address, habits, eye colour an underpants size blasted across every home in the nation.  The stigma of media exposure for something as foul as these murders is something that will haunt Stephens for the rest of his days.  A high price to pay for a smidgin of perversion wouldn’t you say?
