Just to say that NI readers tuning into the Nolan Show on Radio Ulster tomorrow can hear me discuss the interest, or lack of, in the planned NI Assembly elections.  Starts at 9am, not sure when I will be on but Nationalist commentator Jude Collins will be on with me.

ira leadership.jpgIn this land in which the spokesmen for brutal terrorism are dianafied by a biased pro-appeasement media, it is unsurprising to hear the Prime Minister of the UK issue a statement aimed as REASSURING TERRORISTS that there will be a distinct separation in the role of police and security services in Northern Ireland! Blair has released a statement making it clear thatr MI5 will keep away from policing. For some odd reason, those nice Sinn Fein/IRA people don’t want a spook about the place. Almost as if they had something to hide…..mmmm

The issue of whether a person has the RIGHT to smoke in their own home has now surfaced as a real concern, as the Health Gestapo in Wales confirm they are investigating a complaint from a neighbour about a couple smoking in their own home. A woman, who has not been named, has written to the council saying cigarette smoke from next door was "permeating into her living room". Gwynedd Council’s public protection service has said it has a duty to investigate.

What business of these Council busybodies is this? Since when does a Council have the right to inspect what people do in the privacy of their own home? I do not smoke but I fail to see why my neighbour can’t if they want to. This is just one more invasion into individual liberty, dressed up as "a duty of care".

Tale of Two Nazanins

By ATWadmin On January 9th, 2007 at 3:17 pm

You may remember a post last year on ‘Nazanin’. On January 3, 2006, 18 year-old Nazanin Mahabad Fatehi was sentenced to death by the Iranian courts after she stabbed one of three men who attempted to rape her and her 16 year-old niece in March 2005. When singer/songwriter and human rights activist Nazanin heard about the trial of her namesake, the injustice of the case propelled her to take action.

FYI The Save Nazanin campaign has generated over 225,000 signatures worldwide and received the attention of the UN, Amnesty International and others which is encouraging. On June 1st 2006, the Head of Judiciary Ayatollah Shahroudi announced a stay of execution and the call for her retrial January 10th, 2007, eg tomorrow.

This is a pertty interesting documentary produced by Nazanin the model/singer who is promoting her namesakes’s cause.  It is about the campaign, the case itself, Nazanin’s struggle – it talks to her family, recreates events that day and focuses on womens rights under Islamic law, human rights abuses in general in Iran and is altogether a pretty useful background and insight into the country overall. If you cant watch it all id recommend at least the first 5-10 mins.

you have mail!!!

By ATWadmin On January 9th, 2007 at 10:34 am

So you check your in-box for new e-mails, delete all the ‘viagra’ and ‘promising new hi-tech company’ bullshit which keeps on flooding past the filters, and then try and read what’s left, and to your horror, or surprise, or dismay, or any combination of the former, you now learn that the Terror threat level’ from International terrorists has increased from ‘substantial’ to ‘severe’, or whatever! This is the latest proposal from this bunch of clowns who are tasked with our protection! Now you may find it offensive to have a commentator write in slighting terms of these dedicated individuals who serve their country in secret, but I find the whole idea totally laughable, silly in the extreme, and pandering to all the low-level crap which is purveyed by a Government only too keen not to actually ‘offend’ anyone at all!

We are advised by the MI5 web-site that we are threatened by people who are "rejecting democratic institutions and values in favour of an extreme interpretation of Islam" without the added explanation that apart from a very few examples of Europeans who have converted to islam, the vast majority of those who are planning and plotting to kill us, inclusive of British Nationals, are Asians and Arabs from Pakistan, from Iraq, from Iran, from Saudi Arabia and the whole Islamic Crescent sphere of influence! They don’t state what is commonly known, which is that the Muslims who infest their sewage-ridden countries detest us because we are free, or at least freer than they are, and they use a perverted religion to push the willing fools with ‘waistcoats by DuPont’ that they are doing their ‘god’s’ work by killing and maiming innocent civilians!

Advice by e-mail on threat levels! Crap! What we should be hearing about is robust action by the Security services to clean out the nests of Wahabbi-dominated mosques with their Saudi-supplied imams; we should be learning of the Home Office plans to institute a really firm policy of cleaning out the hordes of ‘illegals’, ‘bogus asylum seekers’, would-be Mafia gangsters from all the sewage dumps which masquerade as countries who have just joined Europe, and all the other scum which infests the gutters of our cities! We should be hearing of the detention and deportations of terror suspects who we know are threats to the State, and we should definitely be hearing a little less of their bloody HUMAN RIGHTS!

ATW is frequently a place where you can read opinions not present in the left leaning MSM. Such a situation now occurs with regard to the untimely death of PUP/UVF Leader David Ervine. From US Senator George Mitchell, through UK PM Tony Blair, to ALL the local political parties – Mr Ervine’s contribution to local politics has been praised to high heaven. I appreciate that it convention within the political class to lavish praise on deceased associates, but I fail to see why the rest of us have to just lap it all up. Surely there must be room to dissent from the garbage spoken by the peace processing class?

Let’s set a few things straight. The terrorist-linked Party which Mr Ervine led is a disgrace. The UVF is a barbaric gang of thugs. I am unable to find any reference of the PUP categorically condemning the many evil murders carried out by the UVF, calling for it to disband, and ceasing all criminality.

Instead, when one reads PUP statements, it becomes obvious that it is little more than a "mini-me" IRA/Sinn Fein. But such is the depravity of local politics that is now considered de rigeur to praise such a rabble, and those who lead it, and damn those who point out the inconvenient truth.

Can you imagine the mass mourning if one of the IRA Godfathers was to suddenly leave this mortal coil? Will we have solemn funeral music piped through our TV screens the day Adams or McGuinness goes to meet their Maker? It’s a fallen world, and events like this really bring it home.

Glad to see that Religious groups are to protest outside Parliament today in an attempt to halt legislation banning so called "discrimination" against lesbians and gay men.

In fact, the real discrimination here is being practised by the militant gay lobby which seeks, with the willing co-operation of this leftist government, to subvert the teachings of the main religious faiths. I fully agree with Thomas Cordrey, barrister and public policy analyst with the Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship, said:

"The debate in the Lords is a signal to the government of the need to acknowledge these regulations do not currently strike the correct balance between two competing rights. Christians have no desire to discriminate unjustly on the grounds of sexual orientation, but they cannot and must not be forced to actively condone and promote sexual practices which the Bible teaches are wrong."

That is exactly the point, but the gay fascists and their enablers will not rest until they impose their perverse morality on the rest of us.

‘The ideological dominance of our universities, schools, media, public bodies, police forces, legal institutions and a signficant amount of our political parties by those on the Left-wing margins of society is now all but complete.’  Discuss.

Education, Education, Hypocrisy

By ATWadmin On January 8th, 2007 at 10:18 pm

If I had a child with learning difficulties would I want them to receive the finest education that money could buy?  Naturally!  Likewise if Ruth Kelly wants to send her child to a private school so that he/she can avail of the best possible start in life, then all power to her elbow.  We have an education system where those with learning difficulties are taught in mainstream classes.  For some this is fine.  For others it hinders both their development and the development of peers.

So, in her capacity as a loving mother, I have the greatest respect for Ruth Kelly.  On the other hand, in her capacity as a high-ranking minister in a government that fundamentally seeks to undermine selective and private education for everybody else – regardless of logic, I have the utmost contempt for her.  In Northern Ireland, this government is set to bless the class warfare pettiness of an IRA godfather and abolish selective education altogether.  In England, it is seeking to do so in all but name.  Thus, why should ordinary people who also want the best for their offspring be thwarted in the opportunity to provide them facilities comparable to what Kelly is seeking?

This is socialist hypocrisy and the creed of ‘do as I say….’ at its finest.  Remember when Diane Abbott sent her kids to a private school, notwithstanding her public pronouncements of alpha-Leftism and all it implies?  Thousands of parents want what Kelly is securing.  Unfortunately, Kelly’s pathetic excuse for a party is determined to ensure they can’t get it!
