Romney Gets It

American Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney Gets It

                                                On jihad:pic-of-mitt.jpg

"Whether it’s Hamas or Hezbollah; Al Qaeda or Shia and Sunni extremists, there is an overarching goal among the violent Jihadists – and it transcends borders and boundaries. That goal is to replace all modern Islamic states with a religious caliphate, to destroy Israel, to cause the collapse of the West and the United States, and to conquer the entire world."

 On a nuclear Iran:

“…we have to keep Iran from developing a nuclear bomb. Their ambition to develop nuclear weaponry is clear: they have a virtually inexhaustible supply of clean natural gas for energy, they have refused Russia’s offer to supply nuclear fuel for their power. Obviously, their nuclear ambition has nothing to do with clean energy. …

Ahmadinejad has gone beyond the boundary of outrage, beginning with his calculated desecration of history. His purpose is not only to deny the Holocaust; it is to deny Israel. He is doing what another evil man did before him: conditioning minds to acquiesce to the elimination of a people."

Mitt Romney has a specific plan:

"First, we should severely tighten economic sanctions. I think the Bush Administration deserves a lot of recognition for restricting access to our banking and credit services, because financial, and credit and monetary penalties are some of the most effective sanctions there are. And we must get other nations to act now to follow our lead.

"In my meetings in Israel in January it became clear to me that pension funds, such as the one here in New York City, have invested in companies like the French oil giant, Total. After New York State named its Comptroller, I wrote him, and I also wrote to Governor Spitzer, and Senators Schumer and Clinton and urged them to disinvest from companies that have significant operations in collaboration with Iranian regimes.

"Second, I think it’s important for us to isolate Iran diplomatically. Their leaders should be made to feel exactly like those of Apartheid South Africa, or worse. That’s why I ordered the state police of Massachusetts to refuse security details for former Iranian President Khatami when he came to Harvard.

"Of course, we can communicate and talk with Iran and I support the upcoming efforts to discuss security in Iraq with Iraq’s leaders and their neighbors in the region. But until there are indications that high level engagement would do anything other than reward bad behavior, I don’t believe that we should be engaging Iran in direct, bilateral negotiations over their nuclear weapons program. Iran’s nuclear intransigence is repulsive to the entire world and we shouldn’t let Iran try to position it as an Iran vs. a US thing….

…"There’s a third effort. Arab states need to join this effort to prevent a nuclear Iran. These states can do a lot more than just wring their hands and urge America to do all the work. They should support Iraq’s nascent government; they can help America’s focus on Iran quickly by turning down the temperature on the Arab-Israeli conflict; they can stop the financial and weapons flows to Hamas and Hezbollah; and they must tell their Palestinian friends to drop their campaign of terror and recognize Israel’s right to exist….

…In the current conflict, there is only one way to lose, and that is if we as a civilized world decide not to lift a finger to defend ourselves, or our values, and our way of life…."

dhimmis.jpgYou see it doesn’t really matter that all eight of the Democrat Democratic contenders for the United States presidency have attacked President Bush’s policy in Iraq, beat the drum of surrender and vie to see which amongst them can put forward the quickest run away policy for the US military.

Al Queda has declared Iraq its central front in the war against the Great Satan and IF we pull out as all eight Democrat contenders wish, than Al Queda will follow us back home. And the car bombs will not go off in downtown Tehran, but in downtown New York, or Washington, or San Francisco. These Dhimmi’s believe surrender is a sustainable policy and if nuanced in media soundbite terms such as "getting the boys back home" they can sell to the majority of the US people. Maybe this will be true. But just because a section of the leftard US political elite closes its eyes and hope that Al Queda will go away does not mean this will happen. They will come for us – they have made it clear they will come for us. And by handing them victory in Iraq (undoubtedly  followed by victory in Afghanistan) we will invite them to come and get us. 9/11 appears to have faded away from the minds of these eight dhimmis who blather about Bush’s failed policies but only offer surrender as their alternative.

rudy.jpgAs readers may know, I favour former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani to win the contest to be the Republican candidate to run for the US Presidency next year. I admire his steely leadership on the most IMPORTANT issue facing us, namely the need to WIN the war on terror.  I agree with his latest statement that America would ultimately defeat terrorism no matter which party gains the White House. “But the question is how long will it take and how many casualties will we have?”

Giuliani says.

“If we are on defense [with a Democratic president], we will have more losses and it will go on longer. I listen a little to the Democrats and if one of them gets elected, we are going on defense. We will wave the white flag on Iraq. We will cut back on the Patriot Act, electronic surveillance, interrogation and we will be back to our pre-Sept. 11 attitude of defense. The Democrats do not understand the full nature and scope of the terrorist war against us.”

In my view, Rudy is absolutely right on this. The Dem’s want to back up shop in Iraq and Afghanistan, be nice to the Mullahs and accommodate the Palestinians. They think that talk-talky will sort it all out. Wrong, dead wrong. But even with Rudy in the White House, it could still happen again. There is a huge porous border to the south of the USA which Bush has failed to deal with. Jihadists could easily enter there. Keeping the Jihadi from striking in the USA means keeping them fighting elsewhere – is Rudy prepared to take tough decisions regarding Iran, and Iraq? I think he makes a great point and will drive the leftist media insane when he says…

"The terrorists hate us and not because of anything bad we have done; it has nothing to do with Israel and Palestine. They hate us for the freedoms we have and the freedoms we want to share with the world. The freedoms we have are in conflict with the perverted, maniacal interpretation of their religion. Americans will fight for freedom for women, the freedom of elections, freedom of religion and the freedom of our economy. We are not giving that up, and you (The terrorists) are not going to take it from us!”

At the end of a long day, if you need a good laugh, it’s always worthwhile reading the left wing press.

And here in the UK, the Guardian is always a wise choice for humorous entertainment. Then, when you add in lefty writer Naomi Wolf, you have a recipe for laughs all round. Naomi lives up to form and produces an article  called "Fascist America, in 10 Easy Steps."

Yip, Naomi reckons the USA is turning into a fascist tyranny under Bushitler! She reveals that….cough splutter…mighty Spain has adopted the right approach in dealing with Islamic terrorism, whereas that pesky Bush has only went and used 9/11 to create an artificial war and the basis for a fascist state. Added to this has been the creation of a gulag (Guantanamo Bay- the only gulag in history where the interned put on weight and had to go on Atkins), merciless control of the Media (Yip – CNN, ABC, NYT et al are so pro the  Bush administration!) and all political dissent is crushed. Hello fascist America, warns Naomi.

I think Naomi probably needs to have a lie down in a dark room so that fevered imagination can calm down, don’t you?

Here’s an interesting one. A Christian student has been punished by his Michigan high school for demonstrating opposition to a school event celebrating the homosexual lifestyle.

At Oakridge High, duct tape was passed out for students to wear over their lips as a way to show solidarity with homosexual students who are..ahem… purportedly suffering in silence. John Gardner is pastor of Holton Family Life Worship Center in Holton, a community of approximately 2,500 about 17 miles northeast of Muskegon. Pastor Gardner says his 15-year-old son David, a student at Oakridge High, was suspended for a day by the school because he wrote with a black marker "I’m straight" on a piece of duct tape and attached it to his shirt. He explains that David donned the message to voice his objection to the school’s participation in the Day of Silence. He was confronted by the school’s authorities, asked to remove the offending duct tape and when he refused, suspended.

Just HOW intolerant is the gay lobby and those activists who seek to silence any criticism of their lifestyle? Well done David – and shame on Oakridge High.

You see some of us right-of-liberal types attracted some criticism when we described the Democrat Party as "the Defeaticrats" or even "Dhimmicrats" and as ever, time tells the tale.  Did we call it wrong, had we misjudged Pelosi and her pals or were we spot on the money?

Mmm, let’s see. Senate Majority Leader Democrat Harry Reid says that the war in Iraq is "lost," and CANNOT be won through military force. Harry reckons we cannot beat the Jihadi and that getting out of Iraq is the best route forward. Summary; Vote Democrat, Get Surrender. Well done Harry, I’m sure you’ve given that little extra motivation to the Iranian backed Islamic killers to slaughter more of our soldiers.

vt.jpgYes, I’m sure we all have all now seen the video sent by Virginia Tech mass murderer Cho Seung-hui to NBC by now. What did you make of it? I just thought he came across as a pathetic little creep, blaming the world for his all-too-apparent inadeqacies. He was also obviously deranged – I mean how many people would take time out from a mass killing frenzy to post a package? As is always the way in these situations, everyone is wise after the event. But the truth is that this 23 year old carried out brutal murders in the most evil way imaginable. (I did notice that the BBC were able to discern references to Jesus Christ in his ramblings but oddly enough remained mute on the Islamic references written on his arms. Oh well – when all else fails, blame Christianity, blame the NRA, blame everything and everyone but the little miserable murderer himself.) He was also on some sort of perverse ego-trip and so I choose NOT to use his image again in any discussions on this issue. Instead, I leave you with an image of a memorial at Virginia Tech to all those poor kids slaughtered by this monster. It is their families we should pray for – and let Seung-Hui go to hell.

Ever Heard of a Mass Murder at a Gun Show?

By ATWadmin On April 18th, 2007 at 5:13 pm

Thought not. Mass murders seem to take place where people are fairly helpless, in schools, in “gun free” zones.  A psycho with a gun would not get far at a gun show.  Virgina Tech’s gun-free zone made the killer safer, not the students.

Let’s look at some history (quoted or paraphrased from the article entitled “Gun-Free Zones” by David B. Kopel from the print edition of the Wall Street Journal, 4/18/07):

Virginia Tech:  a “gun free” zone and now the site of America’s worst killing spree.
Trolley Square, Utah:  a “gun free” private shopping mall where a killer walked past the “no guns allowed” sign and shot 5 people.  Fortunately, an off duty-officer, Kenneth Hammond, had also ignored the sign and was in the mall with his gun.  When he realized what was happening, he immediately opened fire on the gunman and stopped him in his tracks.
Pearl, Miss. : At the Pearl, Miss. High School, in 1997, Assistant Principal Joel Myrick retrieved his handgun from his car and apprehended a school shooter. (The option of storing a gun in the car was outlawed at Virginia Tech)
Appalachian Law School in Grundy, VA:  in 2002 a mass murder was stopped by two students, one of whom retrieved a gun from his car.
Edinboro, Pa.  : a nearby merchant used his shotgun to force an armed school attacker to desist.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 1997:   Cites that Americans drive-off  home invaders with firearms half million times annually .

Utah – where there are no “gun free” zones (expect for private property like Trolley Square) there has never been a Columbine- style attack on a school. Nor has there been any of the incidents predicted by self-defense opponents such as a teacher drawing a gun on a disrespectful student or a student stealing a teacher’s gun.

Israel successfully uses armed teachers as part of a program to deter terrorism.

To quote the old bumper sticker:  Guns don’t shoot people. People do.   Until we find a way to eradicate evil, we have the right to  defend ourselves.

There has been a lot of discussion on the media and blogosphere concerning the massacre that took place at Virginia Tech a few days ago. One item that I highlighted here was the courage of 76 year old Holocaust survivor Professor Librescu who gave his life so that his students could escape the rampage of Cho Seung-hui. As you will recall that he blocked the entry to his class-room, but was shot in the head and body by the killer. This bought all the students in his class the precious time needed to make good their escape. The question I pose is this; Virginia Tech was a gun-free zone. It was illegal for students and faculty members to bring any guns onto campus. Problem is, Cho Seung-hui thought otherwise. Had faculty members such as Professor Librescu been permitted to carry weapons, do you think that this would have saved or cost more lives?

According to witnesses, Cho Seung-Hui, took his time and paused repeatedly for a minute or so to reload. In shootings at other schools, armed students or employees have restrained gunmen, possibly preventing additional murders. Four years ago at Appalachian Law School in Grundy, Va., a man who had killed the dean, a professor and a student was subdued by two students who ran to their cars and grabbed their guns. In 1997 an assistant principal at a public high school in Pearl, Miss., likewise retrieved a handgun from his car and used it to apprehend a student who had killed three people.

In other words, we have plenty of examples of where the lack of  "gun-free zones" have saved lives. No one suggests that one can entirely remove the likelihood of someone going on a killing rampage, but actively disarming the likely victims of such manic behaviour, as the State of Virginia has done, seems a delinquent approach to dealing with the problem. I ask again; If Professor Librescu had been armed would Seung-hui have been able to kill as many?  Your call.

killer_cho_suenghui.jpgI see that the man who murdered all those students at Virginia Tech, Cho Seung-hui, died with the words "Ismail Ax" in red ink on one of his arms. He also left a note signed "Ismail Ax"

So, what does this mean? Check out this from Islamic City….

"He said to the statues, joking; then with his ax he destroyed all the statues except one, … Ibrahim and Ismail kept on calling people to worship Allah"

I’m awaiting the UK MSM to comment on this other than to observe that it was "disturbing".
