A new contender?

By Mike Cunningham On April 11th, 2015 at 6:40 pm

I have often thought that one of the best and most straight forward contenders for ‘Dickhead of the Year’ would and should be taken by any one of the present bunch of mainstream politicians, either in America or in Great Britain.

But I contend that the outright winner, who should hold it in perpetuity; even partway through the year, is none other than the moronic idiot who calls himself Orange County Superior Court Judge M. Marc Kelly.

Now this clown decided that an imitation of a man, who had raped and sodomized a THREE YEAR-OLD girl; didn’t deserve a minimum sentence of 25 years, but instead awarded him a reduced sentence of ten years because HE DIDN’T MEAN TO HARM HER!

PORN IS THE WORD?

By David Vance On November 8th, 2012 at 8:15 am

It seems to me that we live in the age of the unserious. It’s as if the things that really matter are dismissed as trivial, whilst the trivial assumes cosmic importance. Take California;

In a potentially threatening blow to California’s porn industry voters have passed a measure that will require condom use during production despite fear it could put Los Angeles’ porn industry dually under wrap.

Passed by 55.9 per cent of voters on Tuesday, Measure B will additionally raise fees in adult film productions potentially driving out the industry from L.A., according to the ballot’s opposition. ‘The effect would be simply to have no scenes, or much, much fewer scenes shot in Los Angeles,’ John Stagliano, also known as ‘Buttman’ who owns Evil Angel, one of the nation’s top porn production companies, told Buzz Feed before the measure’s passing.

Now, I am not saying this idea is not without merit BUT there are some rather more important issues affecting the good people of the Golden State. For example, this.

“California’s state government had 9.3 percent more employees in 2011 than it did 10 years earlier – closely tracking overall population growth – but its payroll costs had jumped by 42.4 percent, according to a new Census Bureau report.”

California residents are NOT earning 42.4% more than they did prior to 9/11. But the State Government just keeps on giving.

It’s not porn which we need protection from but Government. However the State is a rock solid base for liberals and so they vote for gay marriage, for mandatory condom use, and for higher taxes on the successful. California is the future – a State where the State deals with the trivial and ignore the important.

CHOICE NOT ALLOWED

By David Vance On December 12th, 2011 at 1:19 pm

First, the background;

A decision by retail giant Lowe’s Home Improvement to pull ads from a reality show about American Muslims following protests from an evangelical Christian group has sparked criticism and calls for a boycott against the chain. The retailer stopped advertising on TLC’s “All-American Muslim” after a conservative group known as the Florida Family Association complained, saying the program was “propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda’s clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values.”

The show premiered last month and chronicles the lives of five families from Dearborn, Mich., a Detroit suburb with a large Muslim and Arab-American population. A state senator from Southern California said he was considering calling for a boycott.

Calling the Lowe’s decision “un-American” and “naked religious bigotry,” Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance, told The Associated Press on Sunday that he would also consider legislative action if Lowe’s doesn’t apologize to Muslims and reinstate its ads. The senator sent a letter outlining his complaints to Lowe’s Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Niblock.

Ah- a Democrat pandering to Islam, what  a shocker that is. Listen, any advertiser can choose how and where it spends its money. If Lowe’s figure that it does not want to advertise during “All American Muslim” then THAT is its business, not Senator Torrance. He seems to believe you MUST advertise or else and that is plainly wrong.  Is there a big Muslim vote in California?

CALIFORNIA DREAMING…

By David Vance On October 9th, 2011 at 7:56 am

It’s the sheer nihilism of it that leaps out at you.

The governor of California, Jerry Brown, has signed into law legislation allowing illegal immigrants to receive state aid to attend college. Supporters of the California Dream Act, as it is called, say it will benefit the state economically. However, critics argue that it condones entry into the US without proper documentation. About 2,500 students are expected to qualify for grants under the new legislation. Governor Brown, a Democrat, said the law would benefit the state by giving top students a chance to improve their lives and, he said, “the lives of all of us”.

If you reward law-breakers, you get more of them. Brown is simply pandering to his own left wing sensibilities and I am sure he will get sympathetic media treatment for his “humanity” towards all those illegals he now rewards. Anyway, so long as the State of California can afford this, what’s the problem? Oh yes, the State is BANKRUPT and Jerry is going to make sure it stays that way.

CALIFORNIAN BLUE

Amazing stuff from Jerry Brown in California.

A week after increased revenue estimates looked to frustrate Gov. Jerry Brown’s case for higher taxes, a Supreme Court ruling requiring California to reduce its prison population may help. Brown said in a prepared statement that shifting certain offenders from state prisons to county facilities, as Brown proposes in his budget, is “key” to implementing the court’s order today that California reduce its prison population by more than 30,000 inmates. “We must now secure full and constitutionally guaranteed funding to put into effect all the realignment provisions,” he said, a reference to his bid for a ballot measure extending higher taxes.

I love the idea in the first sentence that “increased revenue estimates” may “frustrate” Brown’s plan to tax people some more. Like all good leftists, Brown believes that if only you raise taxes then you solve problems. But in this case what is surreal is that the excuse being offered up to those people facing tax hikes is that it is essential if prisoners are to be facilitated!!!!

California needs LOWER taxes. It does not need to have the imagined needs of convicts transformed into a reason for punishing those who actually go out and work hard.  That said, those who VOTED for Brown deserve all that comes their way.

How We Roll

By ATWadmin On May 20th, 2009 at 5:23 pm

Governor Schwarzenegger  was in Washington DC yesterday applauding the Obama Administration for unnecessarily shackling what remains of the US auto industry with new Cap and Trade emission requirements.

A timely move on his part because yesterday was a special election in California, and the writing was on the wall. Today the results are in.  California voters said “NO” to Arnold’s 6 proposals designed to raise taxes.

Enough is enough.   California State Government can cut costs, lay off government workers.  So say the voters.

Arnold is threatening mayhem in the streets.  Fewer police, fewer teachers, fewer healthcare options.  But the truth is that  State government bloat is massive, and the only people who will notice the cuts are those laid off.

Arnold threatens to sell San Quentin Prison.  I say, sell it! Why should my taxes pay for  excessive prison guard pensions? The waste and bloat is endless.  On and on.

It is not leadership to threaten voters with mayhem and cuts in essential services.

Leadership would be making cuts in duplicate services, unnecessary agencies, and facing down the unions. Government employees should not be considered untouchable. Private industry makes cuts and  layoffs in tough times; government can do the same.

Tea Time in Los Angeles, California

By ATWadmin On May 18th, 2009 at 2:49 am

In 2003, for the 1st time in California history, California voters recalled the State Governor; Democrat Gray Davis was recalled and replaced by Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger.  At the time, the expectation was that Arnold —  The Terminator  — would stand up to California State legislators – predominately Democrat, controlled by the Unions – and cut the spending.

In the years following 2003, California experienced an economic boom, money flowed; California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger — not  The Terminator, but The Quintessential Grasshopper — spent and spent, enjoying the popularity of his Democrat peers and their Union handlers.  It wasn’t until the recent housing bust that the money dried up.

As money dried up, government continued to spend like drunken sailors; the deficit ballooned almost overnight.

Californians now face State bankruptcy.

On Tuesday, then, it’s back to the polls for another special election.  Chicken Little Arnold says that the sky will fall if voters don’t approve more taxation.

But, voters are starting to wake up.  I took the photo on the left today at a  “Tea Party “in front of the Federal Building in Los Angeles. The sign says: “Taxed Enough Already.” (TEA)

If you’re in California, vote NO on Proposition 1A – vote NO to new taxes.  Force California state politicians to face down powerful union lobbyists and  to cut spending.  Visit www.hjta.org for more info.

Miss California, Beautiful…and Smart

By ATWadmin On May 13th, 2009 at 2:54 am

Background:  Twice now, in 2000 and 2008, California voters have gone to the polls and voted NOT to redefine “marriage.”  In California, “marriage” is between a man and a woman. Since the 2008 loss at the polls, Gay Activists have waged an aggressive campaign against those who financially support their opponents. They have outed the personal and work information of opponents on the net, and some have encouraged intimidation. Most recently, at the Miss USA pageant, Gay Activist and pageant judge, Perez Hilton, targeted Miss California.  Miss California stated her beliefs regarding marriage in response to a direct question;  along with President Obama and the majority of the voters in California, she believes that marriage should be defined as between a man and a woman.  Photos, rumors, and insults appeared on the net and there was thought that her title might be revoked.  Pageant owner, Donald Trump, decided not to revoke her title. Below is beautiful Carrie Prejean, Miss California,  at her press conference.

“On April 19th on that stage, I exercised my freedom of speech and I was punished for doing so.  This should NOT happen in America. It undermines the constitutional rights for which my grandfather fought for…

…not everyone may like me or agree with me but I hope that at the end of the day, everyone can respect my rights as I respect theirs. And together we can bring back civility, back to our social and cultural discussions.

I am convinced now, more than ever, of the importance of standing up for your beliefs and convictions.  For everyone out there listening, do not be silenced. Take this story of mine and apply it to your own life.”

I hope I have inspired others to maintain compassion, civility, respect and tolerance while staying true to your convictions and to never, ever compromise your beliefs in the pursuit of your goals regardless of the consequences. …I want to share this message. ..Young adults and teenagers are greatly impacted by media and culture. And I want to encourage them to maintain their integrity and not to concede their values because of what they see or hear going on around them…It is this message that I will encorporate into my Miss California duties…Think how much better our society would be if we could just agree to disagree and show respect. ”

CALIFORNIA BLUE…

By ATWadmin On February 11th, 2009 at 11:17 pm

It’s liberal thinking redux.

California needs to release tens of thousands of inmates over the next two to three years to relieve overcrowding that has ravaged prison medical and mental health care, a panel of federal judges said Monday. In what it labeled a tentative ruling, the three-judge panel said prison populations must be reduced so health care for inmates can be brought up to constitutional standards.

So, justice is not quite as important as making sure that those convicts have the requisite medical care! Good lord but the federal judges need imprisoned for such madness.
