But you only need the light when it’s burning low

By Mike Cunningham On February 21st, 2015 at 9:22 am

The thing which I wish to put across is to ask why we are not exporting more of the same to Syria, where hopefully the efficient Security and Military infrastructure of the admirable Assad Government can target them best?

My own opinion of these three deluded clowns? Three less to worry about!

out of sight, and mind?

By Mike Cunningham On October 16th, 2014 at 11:14 am

I have said it before, and I have repeated my premise again; that Politicians simply do not listen to a reasoned argument, but grab the headline statement, and shovel it out in order to make mischief.

Lord Freud maybe spoke clumsily, but he spoke the truth; people who struggle and suffer under disabilities, of whatever kind, just want to work. I would reckon that all the Disability Legislation, designed in a very patronizing manner by able-bodied people who have probably never come within sixteen yards of a wheelchair, have not advanced those unfortunate people one iota.

Remploy was a chance at pride; a possibility of near-normality for those judged less than normal, and this bunch of Coalition Politicians closed Remploy down because it cost a chunk of money to subsidise those people’s work.

There is a saying, I believe from Oscar Wilde, which goes, “They know the price of everything, and the value of nothing!” The two toffs at the top of the Coalition pile, Cameron and the heir to the Osborne Baronetcy, with their traditions of pure, unleavened greed, and knowledge that they are better than anyone else, are just as bad as the rapacious barons of the Labour movement; complacent in the knowledge that nothing will happen to remove their own family fortunes, by making damn sure that everyone else, inclusive of the disabled, loses theirs.

Behind the headlines

By Mike Cunningham On May 19th, 2013 at 11:19 am

A child, someone’s daughter, has died. This is indeed a personal tragedy.

We are told that the ‘family are angry, angry and hurt’

We are also told that lifeguards were chatting whilst girl drowned

We are also informed that ‘a full and thorough’ investigation would be carried out.

We were not told why a FIVE-year old child was allowed to go into a swimming pool area unsupervised by her ‘devastated parents or grandparents’.

Just in the course of ‘full disclosure’!

In the course of full disclosure, I might add that two of my grandsons are already learning to swim, and the third is being introduced to the water. All three of my grandchildren, whenever near the water, are supervised as if they were about to disappear, and I would expect nothing less from their fathers, my two sons. Also to be disclosed is the sad truth that their Grandad cannot swim a stroke, and is terrified of the water.

Eve; not Steve

By Mike Cunningham On May 11th, 2012 at 9:40 am

The heading to this post is taken from a man/community/nation with whom I have a great deal of affection, namely Middle America. He was being interviewed, ‘vox pop’ style for t.v. news, about the statement made by his President on the subject of ‘gay’ marriage, or to place it in its rightful context, Homosexual Marriage. He stood firm when asked the question, baseball cap pushed back on his head, grizzled and slightly greying, and replied “God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!” I personally have never heard that statement before, although one presumes it was not coined that morning. His stance reminded me, an elderly Englishman, of only one other time when America, and all who lived there, were so comprehensively misunderstood. That time was when the Japanese military began preparations for war, and they didn’t even consider America to be even a threat on their horizon. Once the Pacific Fleet was destroyed, the mongrel nation America would see sense, fold their cards and leave the game; so ran the thoughts of the politicians/military ‘geniuses’ who planned Pearl Harbour. The massive fleets which darkened the seas, which absorbed the ‘kamikazes’ without flinching; the sheer, overwhelming military might of the greatest industrial nation the world had ever seen gave those ‘geniuses’ their answer.

Just two steps behind Prime Minister Cameron stands the awful Lynne Featherstone, Minister for so-called Equalities. One presumes that she is tearing handfuls of blankets apart after the silent revolt against homosexual marriage, orchestrated by senior Tories, Churchmen and ordinary Tories who were just plain ‘fed up’ with the ‘on message’ stance of their leader; and hit Cameron and his Coalition with a broadside which rocked Downing Street because they were so completely unprepared for it. Here was trendy Dave, trying to tell the electorate that he sympathised with a tiny handful of weirdies who couldn’t understand why they still felt ‘apart’ from life, and who also demanded the ‘right’ to marry; as if the repeal of that last legal barrier would provide ‘completion’ or ‘fulfilment’, or whatever buzz-word turns the bent crowd on these days, and his Party turned around and stated, ‘Enough’!

True, the ‘Gay marriage’ bit is being quietly shelved, and the Lib-Dems are being told to ‘shut it’, but have you ever considered what will happen when the sheep, who have never ever lifted their eyes higher than ‘Eastenders’ or ‘Coronation Street’; whose lives are complete now they are watching ‘Britain’s got Talent’ or some equally soulless show on another t.v. channel, whose children comprise the feral and the fearless; ever consider what happens when they will vote massively for Labour because they dislike the reality which is the core behind the Coalition? You will see Harriet Harman, even worse in my mind’s eye than Featherstone could ever be, standing at the Despatch Box pushing that same ‘Homosexual Marriage’ agenda through with a majority which doesn’t need Lynne to bolster it.

Just in case anyone has missed it, after reading the latest post on Cranmer, I have updated my cross-post upon my own site, as well as the advert in question.

There is nothing like a liberal judiciary to set the standard;

Three-parent families may be as good as two, top judges have ruled as they backed a gay father in his ground-breaking contact dispute with the lesbian mothers of his two year-old son.

Observing that “human emotions are powerful and inconstant”, Lord Justice Thorpe said that, despite the women’s desire to create “a two-parent lesbian nuclear family”, the father was “seeking to offer a relationship of considerable value” to his son. And he told the court: “It is generally accepted that a child gains by having two parents. It does not follow from that that the addition of a third is necessarily disadvantageous”.

Why stop at four, M’lud? In fact, why bother having ANY definition of a family, after all that’s soooooo retro, don’t you think?

Excellent article here from Old Holborn on the subject of how children should be brought up;

David Lammy, without doubt the thickest Member of Parliament has set the cat amongst the pigeons this morning by blaming the London riots on the inability of parents to “smack their children”. Except of course, he hasn’t. David is simply referring to the lack of parental discipline in our modern “grab it” society.

Teenagers were able to plunder our high streets because no one cared if they did. Certainly the parents of the hooded ferals had no interest in asking where their offspring were late at night in a city full of sirens and smoke, and when hauled in by the Police to collect their errant children stared bleary eyed at the custody Sargent and shrugged their shoulders in resignation.

The truth, as Old Holborn asserts, is that..

“To be poor, violent and criminal is now the prerequisite for a successful life. To be “respected” for your thuggery instead of despised is the new badge of honour. The adoration of the immoral, the worship of the feckless and the admiration of the wastrel class is the career model, whilst those who speak out against it make front page news with their “idiotic” demands and thoughtcrime that parents actually should take responsibility for their offspring.

When we stop rewarding catastrophic social failure for fear of being judged “old fashioned” or “bigoted”, our children will thank us for the better, safer world they can raise our grandchildren in. We really do need to be in this together – the option of an ever degenerating society that most cannot escape from is too horrific to consider – and finally the State needs to have it’s children taken into care. It has proved to be the most feckless, irresponsible parent of all.”

Another ‘New’ Law!

By Mike Cunningham On January 6th, 2012 at 9:58 am

What is not in doubt is that the present Law is not only widely abused, unfortunately mainly by the mothers of these unfortunate children. So why bring in a new Law when the old one simply is not being used correctly?

Ask this man if he is happy with the Family Court system, if you don’t believe me!

Fair enough

As a matter of fact, I appreciate the manner of a man who speaks exactly as he finds!

Good Advice?

As this came from my own daughter, all I can state is that her intentions towards her father, and of course his health, are completely honourable!

Anyway some positive news

Exercise for people over  40

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface where you have plenty of room at each side.

With a 5kg. potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides, and hold them there as long as you can.  Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.

Each day you’ll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple weeks, move up to 10kg. potato sacks.  Then try 25kg. potato sacks.

Then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 50kg. potato sack in each hand, and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.   (I’m at this level..)

Once you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each sack.

The ‘soft’ option

By Mike Cunningham On August 29th, 2011 at 7:52 am

Let us not forget that the result of actions such as this can easily result in pictures such as this.

My own daughter has used both the airline and the airport in the news story, and if a member of your family had been threatened by the amoral, vicious actions of the three who were arrested; you, dear ATW reader might be calling, as I shall be doing, for all such activity to be reviewed as to the seriousness of the crime, and therefore should be charged with attempted murder!

Two youths, both aged 17, were arrested at the first address on suspicion of endangering an aircraft, contrary to the Aviation Act 2005 while a third person, a man aged 20, was detained at the second address.

All three males were held in custody overnight.

The 20-year-old received a caution, and the two 17-year-olds have been referred to the Youth Offending Team to agree a community sentence. Police have recovered three laser pens.
