Steven Plaut is clear enough on why Palestinians decided to hang an Italian supporter of Palestinians;

“So just why did the Islamists murder Arrigoni?  The answer is simple:

These fanatics believe that everyone who is not a Muslim, and especially not a Muslim of their own particular fundamentalist genre, is an infidel, an enemy, someone deserving death.  It does not matter in the least that the infidel in question has come to Gaza to assist the terrorists.  In the case of Arrigoni, it did not even matter that he had tattoos on his body endorsing their terrorism.  The “bewilderment” being expressed by the ISM and its amen chorus, along with Arrigoni’s Stalinist Italian groupies, is simply further indicative of how little these people know about the Middle East.”

The only people that some Palestinians hate more than Jews is Palestinian supporters who don’t quite fit the picture.

  1. David,
and from the Palestinian ‘Pologists on your own ATW comes hardly a squeak….
See the earlier posting on this story, and note the deafening silence from our own knights in shining armour..
    Aw Shucks!
If on’y we could pin it on the Israelis…. 😉

  2. Ahh this would be Mr Stephen Plaut the man who called for the murder of people protesting against Israel’s apartheid barrier, the murder of people protesting against the theft of their land.

Of course the problem the bigots on here have. Is that they love to portray the worst elements within Palestinian society as being representative of ALL Palestinians. In which case they therefore must think these guys are representative of all Jews –

  3. You are justsooooowrong O Knight in Shining Armour aka OJB.
There are very few on here that would defend Israel right or wrong.
    Maybe Troll?
    I don’t.
    Even my Jewish relatives don’t.
    Bigotry??
Would it be bigotry if I said to you that even if I disagree with everything Israel does, I would still go to help her if the need arose:
not least because I am pretty damn sure some breakaway group of Gentile hating Jewish fanatics won’t kidnap me and then hang me -no matter what I had tattooed on my bicep!
    Hows about that Jacko?

  4. I would still go to help her if the need arose:

Really? What would you do to help? Stick a flag on your porch perhaps? Bake sale maybe….?

  5. Lol!
The guy’s being provocative -although his obseration is based on an Old Testament passage (chapter 60).

    Jack,
I don’t believe in blind support for anything or anyone. For something to command my loyalty it has to convince me of its integrity.
It is your knee jerk support of Palestinians and condemnation of Israel which devalues your comments.
It reminds me of the attitude I used to encounter in dyed in the wool British communists, or Jehovahs Witnesses…….

This from a guy who wrote

    Comedy gold.

My support for the plight of the Palestinians is as a result of the history of the conflict. The only thing knee jerk here is the Israel right or wrong crowd. Who are big on slogans, but rather light when it comes to the facts.

  7. You left out the rest of the quote, Jacko…
“not least because I am pretty damn sure some breakaway group of Gentile hating Jewish fanatics won’t kidnap me and then hang me -no matter what I had tattooed on my bicep!”
I think that might have been the main point actually…

    Jacko,
I would be very happy to see the Palestinians get their own state – and get a fair deal too.
But from what I understand of it, the Palestinian leadership(s) won’t really be happy until the Jews are driven into the sea. At least, that’s what they often say.
That’s what Arafat and Habbash said.

Where do you stand on that, Jacko?

  8. PS,
You going to try and make Arrigoni’s funeral?
    I’m sure you’d be made very welcome…. 😉
