pcd.gifOf course it IS pretty unlikely that the Pussycat Dolls were ever going to play Gaza, but IF they did harbour such intentions, the news that even Palestinian women who dress "immodestly" should be killed will doubtless quench such ambition! Yes, one more sect  within the death cult Pali society have issued a death threat against Palestinian women working for the official Palestinian Authority television station, accusing them of dressing immodestly and behaving in a way that violates the teachings of Islam. The threat, the first of its kind against female employees of Palestine TV, was made by the Righteous Swords of Islam, a relatively new group that is believed to have links with al-Qu’eda. The group has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on Internet cafes and restaurants in the Gaza Strip over the past year. Members of the group are also responsible for splashing acid in the face of a number of young women who had been accused of "immoral behavior."

And what, you may wonder, constitutes "immodest" dress? Well, most of the female TV presenters do not wear the niqab – a veil covering the face of Muslim women as a part of sartorial hijab – the leaflet asked: "Where are the decision-makers in this regard? Have we lost our conscience? Have the brothers, fathers and husbands stopped caring about their women?"

The group warned that its members would strike with an "iron fist and swords" against the women who are refusing to cover their faces. "We will destroy their homes," it announced. "We will blow up their work places. We have a lot of information about their addresses and we are following their movements." The leaflet concluded by threatening to "slaughter" the women for allegedly spreading corruption in Palestinian society by appearing on the screen with their faces uncovered.

Give these people a State?

  1. This shows up the intolerant woman-hating side of Islam. Or perhaps this is the mainstream?

Anyway, don’t excpect the Muslim Council of Britain to condemn these islamofascists any time soon.

  2. Nice picture!

  3. ‘This shows up the intolerant woman-hating side of Islam. Or perhaps this is the mainstream?’

And the "pussycat dolls" are mainstream western culture coming to a kids clothes store near you soon.

That isnt what should constitute feminism. Pity thats all we can teach them about our values and what islamists hold up as an example of feminism – and what the West holds up as example of womanhood. Especially when women are dying, literally, to make a point in the ME.

  4. Good point Alison. Women have have so much freedom here yet its abused and debased. Its the stick-thin, sex-obsessed nonentities who garner all the press attention here – and thats whats transmitted abroad. Bimboism used to be something we mocked in our culture – now its promoted as a standard and there are few celebs who can counteract it. Our female politicians are constantly derided but thats nothing new – Maggie was a wannabe man if I remember the jibes correctly.

I wonder how we can change this. An earlier post, poss not on this thread, mentioned the lack of secular feminist outrage over what was happening in Muslim countries and its depressingly true. Women are dying for the right to education and freedom and what are we doing to support them?

  5. There is a great book out at the moment called The Rise of Raunch Culture which attacks bimbos and their stooges for precisely that.

It was always ironic to me that the Lefts anti Maggie campaign indulged all that inuendo wholesale – but it was the Right who asked her if there was any truth in the rumour that she was a woman. Clowns and jokers either side.

The lack of women in the MSM promoting basic feminism in the ME and elswhere is really depressing. I dont think it is a left right thing and dont care where it comes from but agree it should be more secular voices that attack the religion/s generally. Unless you are promoting moderate voices. But however it happens it needs to happen urgently.

Two weeks ago in Pakistan a woman MP was fired for not adhering to islamic dress. The first concession to the islamsists there in a while – naturally that concession was acceptable since she is female, the first to lose out to religion all the time. Last year one of the female MPs there was shot in the head by the same mysoginist assholes for the same crime. It requires enormous courage to be an MP there. Who supports them here? Or the women in Iran?

  6. God help us in the West if that bunch of painted slappers is what men admire and young women aspire to.

  7. Madradin: Couldn’t get tickets to the Belfast show?

  8. Mahons,

My secretary went to their Belfast show with her boyfriend, I am assured the raunch element was abundant!

That said, I was really after making a Gaza-eque joke.

  9. David: The sad thing is (1) I’ll defend the Pussycat Dolls right to their appearance and, ahem, music and (2) wish that talent would replace mere t & a acts.
