HERE WE GO AGAIN, NORKS TO THE RESCUE

By Pete Moore On December 6th, 2011

Phew, that was close.

Just as the US winds down it’s presence in Iraq, along comes North Korea to fill the void by “developing a missile able to hit the US“. Doubles all round at Pentagon Inc. and giv’em another few trillion.

‘Intelligence’ (no laughing at the back) suggests that the North Koreans are developing a mobile ICBM, pointing out that such a unit would be easily concealed. Cripes, that’s really scary.

Given that the last test they carried out, of the Taepodong-2, ended with that plopping into the Sea of Japan in failure, we can file this report under BS. Ahead of that test, prospective C-in-C Newt Gingrich demanded that the Norks be blasted with missile-zapping orbiting death rays. The problem is, that programme went billions over budget and never worked before being scrapped. As I said, file it all under BS.

  1. Over ten years ago, the North Koreans fired a missile over our ally Japan, which even a Japanese Ron Paul type might see as a provocation.

There are real threats in this world, and the Communist Monarchy of North Korea is one of them. Details upon request.

  2. Very much a boy-who-cried-wolf story. Sooner or later there’s going to be a real threat from somewhere and nobody will believe anybody warning about it.

  3. Phantom – would you not agree that your ally Japan, has enough money to fund its own defences? South Korea is many times wealthier and more advanced than the hermit state to its north. So exactly why are American forces stationed thousands of miles from your coastlines across the other side of the Pacific?

Noel – there is a real threat and it comes from whoever has the weapons to be that threat. One country on this planet has more weapons and spends more money on developing such weapons than all of the other countries put together. It isn’t China and it certainly isn’t Iran.
