AMNESTY WILL BE HAPPY?

By David Vance On July 19th, 2012

Releasing captured Jihadi from Guantanamo was such a big liberal wish. So, how’s it working out…?

It turns out that if the U.S. wouldn’t have released a suspected terrorist from the prison in Guantanamo Bay, the latest terror attack against Jewish Israelis in Bulgaria, might have been avoided. Bulgarian news media said, the terrorist who killed seven people Wednesday in Burgas was Mehdi Mohammed Ghazali, who belonged to the global jihad terrorcnetwork. According to these reports, Ghazali was arrested in 2009 in southern Pakistan, along with his wife and others, including seven Turkish citizens with false documents. Ghazali is reportedly a Swedish citizen of Algerian origin and Finnish, and was held at the U.S. prison camp at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba from 2002 to 2004.

  1. Guantanemo Bay, which the feckless Obama promised to close, will outlast his administration.

It is the worst of all solutions, except for all the others.

Effective immediately, the lax release policies must end. This isn’t a game.

  2. was held at the U.S. prison camp at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba from 2002 to 2004

So the Bush Administration is responsible for his release. If it had been Obama, Rightworld would be screaming for impeachment.

  3. I simply cannot wait for Troll’s attempt to pin that on Obama.

  4. If Obama had personally shot this bastard in front of the Holy Knesset, Troll would still see it as an impeachable act.

  5. “It turns out that if the U.S. wouldn’t have released a suspected terrorist from the prison in Guantanamo Bay, the latest terror attack against Jewish Israelis in Bulgaria, might have been avoided. Bulgarian news media said, the terrorist who killed…”

But who’s responsible for this terror attack on the English language?

  6. Noel

Does Troll issue press releases 😉

  7. Why was he had Gitmo, under what charge? Under what circumstances? We don’t have a right to hold someone cause we think they are bad.

  8. P.S. Now there are reports it wasn’t the Gitmo guy after all. Let us wait and see what facts come out.

  9. I don’t have to pin anything on Obama his actions do him enough damage.

How about I pin it on you lot who have been crying for a decade about the poor sweet innocents picked up off the street by the CIA and sent to Gitmo….. they were all just victims of the evil US and it’s corporate army… boo hoo

What is the number like 90% of those released have either been killed or recaptured, once again just being innocent victims on some battlefield somewhere else.

We could always just empty the rest of the prison out I’m sure Britain would give them asylum

  10. I do have a question though since this guy was a detainee and Obama and the democrats along with half of you demand that the place should be shut down who do you think should carry the blame?

    Trick question.

The only people to blame are the people who planed the bombing and the lunatic that carried it out.

  11. //lunatic that carried it out.//

The question is what made him a lunatic (if he was the guy who did it).

Three years of treatment in an internement camp isn’t the kind of thing that makes a balanced and relaxed individual.

  12. Now 14 people shot dead in a cinema in Denver, USA, watching the new BatMan movie.

The killers aren’t all religious nutters.

  13. I doubt that he’s a lunstic in the accepted sense. More likely a man conditioned (or brainwashed if you like) by lunatic religious beliefs.

  14. “lunatic” not “lunstic”. Drat these iPads. Lunstic sounds like a Danish deodorant 🙂

  15. Hah. Let’s just agree then that he’s definitely not a lunstic!

  16. Noel,

“The killers aren’t all religious nutters.”

Of course not. A few are gun nuts, but try convincing gun-totin’ Americans that their gun laws are insane.

  17. In a country where every angry loser has access to guns, this is not news.

If the Europeans were imbecilic enough to implement US style gun laws, you’d have many of these incidents too. You’ve got your own crazies and paranoids, many have appeared on these pages.

Watch the US, and learn what not to do in this area.

  18. Phantom,

    All true. Alas.

  19. //You’ve got your own crazies and paranoids, many have appeared on these pages.//

Funny, I was just thinking recently what a mess things would be if some of our British commenters were armed.

Just pasted this in another thread. 14 shot dead at screening of Batman.

  21. “Funny, I was just thinking recently what a mess things would be if some of our British commenters were armed.”

    Like who?

  22. Hard to imagine a better example than this of the muddled and misleading thinking and talking that passes for politics among Republican representatives in the States.

This is the chairman of the “House Intelligence Committee”, Mike Rogers, trying to convince people that Iran is responsible for the bombing and how Israel will be justified in retaliating:

//Rogers said he believes the (Iranian) regime is seizing the moment — effectively throwing gasoline on the flames.

“You worry that Iran is starting to escalate these types of activities,” Rogers said. “It shows how brazen they have become and how aggressive they have become … so Iran is certainly ramping it up, and obviously that’s a problem.”

Rogers told Fox News he believes the bomber had outside help from a “logistical system,” and the path will lead back “through Hezbollah and likely I think into Iran.”

He said this “fits their profile.”//

i.e. he has no concrete reason to link Iran to the bombing, he admits he merely “thinks” it was Iran, but then somehow this attack shows how brazen Iran has become and how it’s “certainly ramping it up”.

And this idiot and war-monger accuses Iran of “throwing gasoline on the flames”!
    What an absolute wretch.

  23. Noel

Would that be the Wendy House intelligence committee ?

  24. Surely it couldn’t have been the Israelis?

It has been seen as a daring raid by crack Israeli troops to rescue dozens of their countrymen held at the mercy of hijackers.
But newly released documents contain a claim that the 1976 rescue of hostages, kidnapped on an Air France flight and held in Entebbe in Uganda, was not all it seemed.

A UK government file on the crisis, released from the National Archives, contains a claim that Israel itself was behind the hijacking.
