Explained the intelligence official: “They’re killing us because we’re ‘infidels’ occupying Islamic lands. It’s what the Koran and every imam over there is telling them, and no amount of cultural sensitivity is going to stop that or change the fact that we’re ‘infidels.’ ”

So once more the question must be asked; “What the F*@!! are we doing wasting blood and money in that dusty cess-pit for in the first place?”

Trying to find a conserviative today who was very much in favour of the invasion of Afghanistan is like trying to find a Nazi in Berlin in May 1945.

  2. Speak for your own side of the pond Noel, you understand very little of that and less of what motivates us.

We are in the ME for the most part because that is where the Oil has been drawn from for the past 60yrs. We on this side will soon change our part of that equation.

What are you going to do?

  3. It’s refreshing to hear an honest opinion admitting that fuel is the reason that young soldiers lives are being wasted in the ME.

  4. if that is how you choose to view my statement your more than welcome to do so. It fits with your view, but it is not why our soldiers are there.

We would gladly buy the oil and we do. No where are our forces there to gain control of another nations resources. They never have and never will be.

We use our military to spill peoples blood and break their things when they spill ours or threaten us.

We prefer to pay in the coin of the realm, rather than the blood of others.

  5. Afghanistan’s resources could make it the richest mining region on earth

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mining_in_Afghanistan

WASHINGTON — The United States has discovered nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, far beyond any previously known reserves and enough to fundamentally alter the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself, according to senior American government officials.

  6. Sorry, what was that?

    – US Army Intelligence official

That’s exactly what Ron Paul (and the CIA, and others) have been saying, and it’s because he said that that GOP drones booed him during debates.

You had to have been stupid to have ever believed that “”they” hate us for our freedoms”, but millions were stupid, and they lapped up the propaganda. “They” don’t give a damn for our (erstwhile) freedoms. They know nothing of them and wouldn’t understand understand them.

No-one ever made it up. They simply re-stated what islamic terrorists have long said: attacks on the West were in response to Western political and military meddling in their holy lands.

Those ‘Drones’ have absolutely no idea, they are now being brainwashed and assimmilated …. don’t fight it.

    Resistance is futlie 😉

  8. Blaming our troops
‘Friendly’ fire attacks have killed dozens of our heroes. The Pentagon’s response? Ordering sensitivity training about Islam

That ever fading light at the that tunnel, is now so dim, would someone mind turning it off 😉

  9. Dear Lord .. and I am not even religious.

To avoid offending them, US commanders are putting troops through intense Muslim sensitivity training. Among other things, they’ve been ordered to:

    * Wear surgical gloves whenever handling a copy of the Koran.

    * Never walk in front of a praying Muslim.

    * Never show the bottom of boots while sitting or lying across from a Muslim, which in Islam is considered an insult.

    * Never share photos of wives or daughters.

    * Never smoke or eat in front of Muslims during the monthlong Ramadan fasting.

    * Avoid winking, cursing or nose-blowing in the presence of Muslims — all viewed as insults in Islam.

    * Avoid exiting the shower without a towel.

    * Avoid offering and accepting things with the left hand, which in Islam is reserved for bodily hygiene and considered unclean.

The Liberal woolly headed Marxist mental-illness is spreading, like some kinda 21st century incurable disease.

Police sniffer dogs may wear bootees to avoid offending Muslims
Police sniffer dogs may be forced to wear bootees when entering mosques and Muslims’ homes to avoid causing offence.

Appeasement is the worst from of cowardice .. as I said, Resistance is futlie Infidels.

    We are the Borg….

Yep, even the Borg had to start somewhere 😉

    Stop resisting.

  11. This is why US and UK troops are in Afghanistan:

    http://www.economist.com/blogs/banyan/2012/04/afghanistans-opium-crop

    – THE United Nations has published this year’s forecast for the Afghan opium crop and the news is not good (Hmmm… depends on who you are). The annual poppy harvest begins soon, and despite all the efforts to reduce cultivation (REALLY??), it looks likely to rise yet again. The harvest in nine of the growing provinces will probably increase and it is expected to remain steady in about in another eight. In only one of Afghanistan’s provinces does it looks set to fall, according to the forecast. –

Go on the internet and look under ‘Afghanistan opium crop soldiers images’ and you will find loads of pictures of US and UK troops in the poppy fields. The poppies are not being destroyed, but they are being protected. Lorries full of chemicals for processing the opium are flooding into Afghanistan, all to provide ‘added value’ to the product in Afghanistan under the control of those who are in control i.e. US and UK ‘agencies’.

If it were desired for the opium crop to be reduced, then with all the military presence in Afghanistan, the crop would be reduced or even eliminated as the taliban did in 2001. Since 2001, the opium crop has increased from a paltry 180 tons under the Taliban to circa 6000 tons under US-military Inc.

  12. And the vast majority of victims of these Jihadists are Muslims themselves… are these Muslims occupying Muslim land ?! I’m confused ….

  13. Phantom – do you dispute any of the following points? –
    1. that production of opium plunged in 2001 to less than 200 tons when the taliban ordered its production to cease.
    2. that production of opium in Afghanistan under US control recovered to pre-taliban levels and has since broken all records.
    3. that the US has the means to end production of opium by destroying the crop from the air and on the ground noting that the ragheads of the taliban did it.

  14. I have said here for years that the Taliban did essentially stop opium production. That is the one good thing that they did. It is documented. I remember reading articles about this in the NYT in 2000-2001.

But we did not enter the wretched country to protect any opium crop. We look the other way when it is grown, which is plenty bad enough.

Unfortunately, opium production is part of that culture. TheTaliban have done a 180, and they now permit opium production and in some areas they tax it.

  15. Very often the US is held back from moving against production by political considerations, they need the alliance of certain local bigwigs and communities, who live from the stuff.
If the Taleban were defeated, the US would probably clamp down on the drug, but until then the obvious strategy is that it’s better the people are tilling the feels than joining the Taleban, which when your soldiers are being blown apart is understandable enough.

  16. I see that President Ahmadinejad of Iran has addressed the UN. Naturally the New York Post has screamed all sorts of denunciations at what he said, but I have read what he said and he did not attack Israel, although he did mention zionism. Here is what he said:

    http://www.policymic.com/articles/15364/mahmoud-ahmadinejad-un-speech-live-stream-iran-president-speaks-at-un-general-assembly

    – From the standpoint of the politicians who control the world power centers, concepts such as moral principles, purity, honesty, integrity, compassion and self-sacrifice are rejected as defunct and outdated notions, and an impediment to the accomplishment of their goals. They openly talk about their disbelief in the relevance of ethics to the political and social affairs.

Pure and indigenous cultures as the product of centuries – old efforts of nations, the common denominator reflecting human profound feeling and love towards beauties, and the force which breeds diversity, cultural vividness, and social dynamism, are under constant attacks, and susceptible to extinction.

A specific life style devoid of individual or social identity is being imposed on nations by organized and systematic destruction and humiliation of identities.

Family as the noblest institution of societies and a center emanating love and humanity has been seriously weakened and its constructive role is on the decline. –

    – Arms race and intimidation by nuclear weapons and weapons of mass-destruction by the hegemonic powers have become prevalent: Testing new generations of ultra-modern weaponry and the pledge to disclose these armaments on due time is now being used as a new language of threat against nations to coerce them into accepting a new era of hegemony. Continued threat by the uncivilized Zionists to resort to military action against our great nation is a clear example of this bitter reality. –

    – Does anybody believe that continuation of the current order is capable of bringing happiness for human society.’? –
