I think this is a fabulous idea, one that might free the GOP from the constrictive noose of evangelical claptrap that’s reduced the party to a state of laughable redundancy.

From their press release.

There does not exist a reliable political party that purely represents the overall Christian agenda in America. We can neither ignore the overwhelming contrast to our Godly principles of the marriage equality and abortion rights agendas, which the Democrats strongly support, nor can we be oblivious to the arrogant, greedy, unsympathetic Pharisaic practices of the Republicans.

The November election is poised to leave the Christian base with an extremely bitter taste of misrepresentation and miscalculation of our position and priorities concerning many of the issues in the forefront of American lives today. The misrepresentation of the biblical teachings and principles to which we profess as Christians, prevent us from continuing to support either the Democratic or the Republican Party candidates.

As the Party of No Compromise, the New Independent Christian Party intends to influence the outcome of American elections and uphold the Godly principles by which America was built and by which Christians believe, live and exist.

I have high hopes for this nascent political movement. If we’re lucky, it will take off like a rocket, draining the conservative party of populist ideologues, tea party morons and Christianist theocrats.

  1. Five minutes of research indicate that the founder of this movement proclaims homosexuality and masturbation are being driven by Satan as part of his end of days plan.

While I can’t speak for the gays those of us in the masturbating community are deeply offended.

Perhaps I am misreading their agenda or the advocacy for their agenda?

  2. “but those of us in the”

Stepped on my own joke, damnation maybe in order after all.

  3. More hate and misdirection from Daphne, this is a lunatic fringe group led a woman that thinks she’s a prophet Bishop Janice Fountaine, besides the things that Mahons wrote.

Grasping for straws Daphne? This group represents no one.

  4. I think in frustration with the overall process people often reach for other things that, upon further examination, are not necessarily better and are often worse.

  5. Let’s say they’ll never get the masturbatory vote.
Although with the 2-choice system in the US they, instead of going to exercise their franchise in November, may as well stay at home exercising something else.

  6. the process is an outdated rigged game, but it’s what we have.

Tonight’s debates aren’t debates they’re side shows of a circus. It will be painful to watch

  7. I’d love to have a major candidate REALLY ” go rogue ” and start to speak honestly about the problems we have, honest solutions to them, about the drug war, endless guns, and of the huge corruptive effect of money in politics.

That person is nowhere on the horizon.

You can’t fix problem that you don’t acknowledge Many common people speak honestly on these things, but none of the major national politicians of today do.

  8. (For Noel)
This is a stupid idea. History is littered with the bones of false prophets who either promised to purge their society, or else lead the faithful (gullible) to a “Promised Land” or perhaps reveal the “real truth” according to McTatters..
It can never work, and I cite as supporting evidence Jesu’s parable of the wheat and the tares..

24Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28He said unto them, An enemy hath done this.*

The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
    Matthew 13:24-30

In my opinion a Christian can be a socialist or a capitalist, a Republican or a Democrat. It all depends on what motivates them as an individual.
But the real Christian accepts that in this life the pendulum affect holds true, and a Christian’s first loyalty is to the Lord Jesus Christ.
