So, Hillary Clinton finally fesses up;

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says she takes responsibility for the failure in security at the US consulate in Benghazi, where the US ambassador to Libya was killed last month. Mrs Clinton said ensuring the safety of US diplomatic staff overseas was her job, not that of the White House. It comes ahead of the second campaign debate between President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney.

Just a few comments. IF she is sincere in taking responsibility, what is the punishment she will accept? Some might conclude that this is a little political manoeuvring ahead of the second Presidential debate. But that could not be the case since it would imply that Clinton would cynically use the brutal murder of a US ambassador to try and deflect responsibility from where it REALLY lies – the White House. Right?

  1. It never looks good when a senior person makes an underling take the blame. I think Clinton has deftly made Obama look very bad with this. Straight from Bill’s playbook I suspect.

  2. It certainly does not help the President politically. Mistakes, miscalculations and outright error are hallmarks of all Administrations since Washington. In the current news cycle with our media attention span they become far more pronounced and the emphasis often way out of proportion.

  3. The facts about the Benghazi incident are simple it was a planned terrorist attack that the administration was made aware of minutes after it started.

In the first 15 minutes of the attack on our embassy the threat officer on sight activated the Imminent threat system. This system is an automated system that does several severe things.

It’s called a “broken arrow” it sends out distress notification that a US position is being overrun. It activates ALL military assets in the area. It streams live feeds from all electronic communications and equipment on site to 15 different command posts around the globe including the situation room in the Whit House.

State Dept official Lamb testified before Issa’s committee days ago that this system was activated in the first 15 minutes of the embassy attack within 30 minutes of this distress flare being sent out an American Drone was overhead.

For 6 hours every command post watched the events live.

During this 6 hours no outside assets were activated, no planes dispatched, no reaction at all except the few undermanned assets in the immediate area were allowed to go in.

They have it all on tape, they have the tapes for the entire day leading upto the attack. On the tape just before the attack we have film of the quite streets as our ambassador said goodbye to the Turkish Ambassador.

20 min later the gates were blown off the walls.

3 hours later while still receiving live feed of the devastation not knowing whether or not our ambassador was alive or dead but already having received live reports that the two men that were with him in the house one was dead and the other had tried several times to find the ambassador but due to the fierceness of the attack and the lack of personnel to repel it they had to abandon the search and try to flee for their lives. AT THIS POINT OBAMA WENT TO BED.

The next morning he stepped out into the rose garden Told the American people that there was a protest about a video causing some minor riots in several Arab countries and then got on his plane to go to Vegas to raise money for his reelection.

The next morning he stepped out into the rose garden Told the American people that there was a protest about a video causing some minor riots in several Arab countries and then got on his plane to go to Vegas to raise money for his reelection.

If that can be pinned on him he’s finished surely.

  5. The term ” the buck stops here ” of coourse originated with the great president Harry Truman. Who was saying that he took responsibility for everything that his administration did or did not do.

Hillary’s statement seems to indicate that she thinks Obama should not be responsible. Well, he may not be a responsible guy, but the buck still lands on his desk ultimately.

This is disturbing to a lot of folks, not just to the Republican talking points guys. The issue is not going away.

  6. To use the football metaphor, the Dems are running out the clock.

…and with the help of the supine and biased mainstream media, this strategy just might work.

Although I wouldn’t count on it.

  7. Or, as Michael Walsh asks:

How is the Obama White House going to fit the entire State Department and the intelligence community under the bus?

  8. There is nothing to pin on him. Those are the facts, the facts as told by his own people.

The thing is the MSM and people like Mahons don’t care they will vote for him anyway.

This election is a turning point in American history.

The current administration is the culmination of 100 years of work by the progressive communist left. The have put in place an incompetent ideologue everything rests on his reelection to tie the knot.

No matter the level of failure, incompetence, or danger that he puts us in “the movement” has to much invested in him to allow FACTS to interfere with GOALS

He is going to loose in a landslide

  9. I think Clint Eastwood had it right about Obama.

and Mahons and the Dems cannot face the truth about the emptiness that is Obama nor the emptiness that is their ideology.

Turns out that “leading from behind” and appeasement of our enemies are not all the Dems thought they would be. Reality bites.

  10. Clinton can take the blame for the lack of security.

Here’s the Administration’s problem: who decided to blame the youtube video? and to go and make a speech at the UN blaming the youtube video? not State.

  11. totally off topic but here is the mental state of Jessie Jr…lol

In a story on the front page of the Washington Post about the controversies surrounding reclusive Illinois Democratic congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., readers have to wade through 23 paragraphs before they hit the story’s most interesting nugget of information:

The prince [Jackson] was erecting the foundations of a power base, diving into countless local races by endorsing candidates, seeding the region with mayors and other local officials who would be loyal supporters. But he could be mercurial, former associates say. Jackson sometimes boasted that he was a reincarnated Greek chariot driver, [political operative Frank] Coconate said. “I really thought he had a problem with reality,” Coconate said. “He’d get in his own little world. He’d come out with outlandish things.” At one of Jackson’s hangouts — a Turkish bath — he’d prance naked, demonstrating martial arts moves, while the others stayed wrapped in towels, said Frank Avila Jr., a former supporter who is a Democratic operative. (Emphasis added.)

Now, to be fair to Jackson, the Post’s article does say that Coconate and Jackson had a falling out a few years ago, so take the story with a grain of salt. According to Coconate and Avila, Jackson also “called older African American lawmakers ‘plantation Negroes’ and whites were ‘lemonheads.’”

Jrs been in a nut house for months and very few people are talking about it.
