First, the hype, the headlines for the foolish!

EU leaders have reached an agreement on the budget for 2014-20 after lengthy talks in Brussels. European Council President Herman Van Rompuy announced the deal and said in a statement it was “worth working for”. The new budget ceiling amounts to 960bn euros (£812bn; $1.3tn). It is the first time the EU’s multi-annual budget has been reduced.

So, at a time of economic meltdown ACROSS the EU, the annual budget is cut by a miniscule 3.3%. Cameron is hailing this as a victory. But guess what?

While Mr Cameron has claimed a significant overall cut as a victory, the UK’s contribution is likely to go up. The UK’s rebate is shrinking from its current annual level of about 3.5bn euros.

So, we will pay MORE to this festering corruptocracy and this is a VICTORY? Are they mad?

  1. Huh, the massed ranks of Telegraph hacks certainly think the deal is proof of Cameron’s iron will & supreme leadership.

The government stooges on the Telegraph are desperate to clutch at anything to prove that Cameron is not a jelly on springs.
You’d have to have a heart of stone not to feel sorry for their forlorn hope that the Tories are anything but a failed party.
