Much political posturing today at the news that oil firms might have colluded to drive up fuel prices.

The real fuel scandal is that prices are driven up and that we are ripped off every day, because most of the price is the cut the state takes. We can’t do anything about it because they have a gun to our heads.

  1. Yeah lets ignore the factor thats around 60% of the price and target the minority cost. The people who find it, extract it, refine it, ship it and then have the audacity to want paying for all that, whilst paying HMG a bloody shed load of tax in the process.

Yeah lets get them barstewards instead of looking at how greedy the Gubbermint is.

    + VAT

BTW, I believe the States theiving from fuel is about 80% ?

And if you are a company car driver, your company gets charged a Tax levy on any fuel cards used, and credit cards used for fuel, then the dricer gets charged approximately 16p per mile ‘Private mileage’ then the driver also gets a tax benefits in kind on that car at the end of the year, and then there is the road tax .. the list just goes on and on and on and on .. and still the State is …. skint?
