Well, the teaching trade unions gather today for another bout of selfish ranting and protecting the status quo at all costs.
The education secretary is like a “fanatical personal trainer” who urges schools to jump higher and run faster, a head teachers’ leader is to say. Bernadette Hunter, president of the NAHT, will say Michael Gove pays no heed to “the damage he is causing to the body or the system”.
What is wrong with the quest for excellence, exactly? What about the damage that these self indulgent unions have inflicted on generations of our children as they place their selfish interests FIRST? Gove is trying to encourage excellence although I think this is almost impossible in a State sector where Union bullies stifle every initiative.
