Further to what Pete has written below, Islamic terrorism once again manifested its BARBARISM on the streets of the UK capital today. It seems that a serving soldier was decapitated earlier today in Woolwich.

Senior Whitehall sources said the attackers had also asked passers-by to film them, and they shouted “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is great).  Footage also shows the men saying: “We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you”.

Indeed. Our problem is we have not yet started fighting them.

It’s time we did. Islamic terrorists should be given the opportunity to surrender – or die.

  1. Indeed. Our problem is we have not yet started fighting them

So what do you suggest David? Isn’t the problem that Al – Qaeda is not a structured group but rather an extremely loose affiliation of individuals and small groups around the globe? Indeed, the problem seems to be that responses to these type of religously motivated hate crimes tend to be that – reactive responses. A loose affiliation of individuals who value you death over their life is a difficult thing to combat so, what should be done?

I mean, for example, if it turns out these were from the country of origin of Al – Qaeda, Saudi Arabia, what should happen?

  2. I mean, for example, if it turns out these were from the country of origin of Al – Qaeda, Saudi Arabia, what should happen?

That’s an easy one, just ignore the fact that they are from Saudi Arabia because Saudi Arabia has oil.

  3. Pete – Obviously that man is an actor! Look at the unconcerned woman strolling by him with her shopping cart. This is a staged event to allow the police to scare people into greater security crackdowns!

  4. Mahons – don’t be a clown all day.

Will you repeat that to Adolf@Conspiracyville?

  5. I am limiting myself to a day, you on the other hand do it regularly. See how little sense you usually make.

  6. Pete Moore, on May 22nd, 2013 at 7:48 PM Said:
Mahons – don’t be a clown all day.

Why .. he is very good at it

Anyway, it’s only a hideously white lad that’s been butchered, let Mahons laugh and joke about it, tells a lot about the man

  7. Harri – I love white folks as much as any other folks. You may have missed the white people not killed by terrorists in Boston, the white actor-parents of children killed in Newtown, the white victims of a Government/Jewish conspiracy on 9/11, the white moviegoers not shot by the arrested young man in Colorado.

  8. We could start by closing any mosques with jihad preachers. As well as prosecuting the preachers for sedition. Follow up by deporting the families of the perps who probably don`t have British citizenship. If they do have it, revoke it and deport them back to the slums of Pakistan or whatever allah-infested hole they emerged from.

  9. Mahons.

Yep. and I don’t recall anyone on ATW taking the piss out of any of them .. hang your head in shame

  10. We could start by closing any mosques with jihad preachers. As well as prosecuting the preachers for sedition.

That will have consequence for other groups as well Peter for example those members of the EDL / BNP who had / have duplicate membership of Combat 18?

Follow up by deporting the families of the perps who probably don`t have British citizenship. If they do have it, revoke it

Is that not a variation of blaming the children for the sins of their parents?

  11. Citizens are reminded that though the Third World washes over them, it’s the EDL and BNP who should be shunned.

  12. “Remove your government, they don’t care about you!”

He certainly got that bit right.

  13. Harri – Then you have the memory of an ant. Go back and you’ll see posts how the victims of those tragedies were faking or part of a conspiracy. Do you nutcases think that ATW is erased every night and that the past idiocies are not preserved?

  14. Is that not a variation of blaming the children for the sins of their parents?

    Paul

I would say it`s about sending a message. If they want to settle their families here they should steer clear of jihad. It seems reasonable to me.

  15. Mahons

Congratulations, you have just managed to make it onto that list of ‘nutters’

  16. Harri – Ah but mine is a satire of the usual contributions at such times by the actual nutters. The truth is here that Pete’s racial hostility overwhelmed his usual conspiracy nonsense. He’ll be kicking himself later for it. He already had to shut down his post on the topic in bitter regret at not having doubted the accounts of the mainstream media, the police and civilian authorities.

  17. Bernard – Indeed I am. This brutal killing is revolting. The killers deranged sociopaths who deserve to be brought to justice.

  18. It seems reasonable to me

It seems absolutely unfair to me Peter and could also create a dangerous precedent with far reaching repercussions for everyone.

Citizens are reminded that though the Third World washes over them, it’s the EDL and BNP who should be shunned

Your the only person that I can see suggesting that Pete.

  19. Our problem is we have not yet started fighting them.

    Truest words ever.

Paul, if there was no Al Queda, the situation wouldn’t change that much. There was no Al Queda for the first 1400 years of the Religion of Peace, yet they had no problem practicing mayhem and murder from Day One.

  20. Mahons: “the white victims of a Government/Jewish conspiracy on 9/11 ”

    Ah! An utter nutter.

  21. In all fairness Phantom I think there was a fair amount of murder and mayhem in the world at that time.

And no, this is NOT some kind of condoning those that butchered on the streets of south London tonight lest anyone should try to twist it.

  22. Isn’t it more about ‘clasping vipers to bosoms’, and believing that those vipers value their lives as much as we value ours…

Or put another way – the arrogant belief that ‘our way is the right way’, and that is all the protection we need against the medieval thinking of much of the Third World.

  23. I’ve read the words of Jesus and I’ve read the words of Mo, and I’ve detected very different ways of thinking.

One taught the Sermon on the Mount, and the other taught the opposite.

You can’t possibly solve any problem unless you look at root causes.

The fish stinks from the head.

  24. “Your the only person that I can see suggesting that Pete.”

    You’re not paying attention, Paul.

The entirety of the political establishment, including its media mouthpieces (i.e. those who tonight tell us how shocking this is while forgeting they are responsible for flooding our country with sub-human filth like this), talk long and loud about how the EDL and BNP are terrible and should be shunned.

The drones have obeyed, they kept voting to have their noses rubbed in diversity, and now they’re getting it.

  25. Paul

If you emigrated to a country and then joined a war against that country, why should your family have a right to stay there?

  26. If you emigrated to a country and then joined a war against that country, why should your family have a right to stay there?

Because they are innocent of any crime? and I’m surprised that you’re equating the slashing to death of a young man on the streets of London by an obviously deranged individual(s) with war.

Talk long and loud about how the EDL and BNP are terrible and should be shunned

Thay are and should be the barbaric actions this afternoon doesn’t change that.

  27. Whoa…this is nuts. I was at an awards luncheon at Delmonico’s and we were told to turn off all our electronic equipment…we then went for a ride on the Staten Island ferry and the police and ferry staff were freaking out about unattended strollers and backpacks…we had no idea this happened so engrossed were we in our minutiae. This is crazy and scary.

  28. Paul McMahon –

Yes, I told you that the drones have shunned them, by and large. They listened to the sensible views held by people like you and Mahons and the political establishment.

And now the Third World has flooded their streets and is doing what the Third World does. Bigots were wrong because it’s bigoted to object to your compatriots being butchered on your own streets. We know the script.

  29. It’s bigoted to object to your compatriots being butchered on your own streets.

    No it’s not.

And when all the ‘immigrants’ have been cleansed Pete who will the group of glorified organised football hooligans turn on next?

  30. As said here many times before

You won’t change them. They will change you.

Organize your immigration and foreign policy accordingly.

  31. Pete – Does Allan know you are cheating on the conspiracy theorists? He won’t be happy.

  32. Paul – we’ll see, but I vote for those who flooded our land with primitives in the first place.

  33. You were alive in 1948 Pete? (West Indians were then considered ‘primitives’ weren’t they?)

  34. Condolences on this horrific murder. It is unbelievable such savages are on the streets of London. Hopefully the response will be robust and PC free. This is of such a level of horror to people in a very civilized city that if the government response is not seen as proper to assure it will not happen again, people may take matters into their own hands. It is still early and facts are still coming to light but people need to know they can go about their business in London without encountering such murderous savages.

  35. New Yorker –

Too late for that. Away from the tourist spots London’s just an immigrant-filled shithole.

  36. Because they are innocent of any crime? and I’m surprised that you’re equating the slashing to death of a young man on the streets of London by an obviously deranged individual(s) with war.

    1. If you want to settle here, then think about their futures and how their behaviour could impact on them.

    2. They call it war, it’s what jihad means, so why not take them at their word?

  37. Some of the dim bulbs here may think that they are not at war with them

But, trust me – they are at war with you.

  38. oh my God…hacked to death on the street…the footage on tv is distressing. and disturbances are reported there tonight…

    awful savagery.

  39. If you want to settle here, then think about their futures and how their behaviour could impact on them.

So the innocent get punished for the actions of others. Fundamentally flawed and inherently unjust and besides, where does it stop? ‘Thirteen year old Johnny is out of control. Quick, stop his parents benefits. What? they’re both working? Put them under a curfew along with Johnny.

Who do you think that they are?

I think you mean all Muslims but perhaps I’m mistaken.

  40. for a start Paul they could close down these jihadi web sites. Considering the boston marathon attackers were brothers, most likely the same as these two black men, its a sure bet they are self radicalised from these web sites. The fact that they wanted passers by to film them proves that these bastards wanted their acts circulate around the world.

dirty scum bags, to knock a man down and hack him to death.

    dirty dirty scumbegs.

  41. Phantom – I would identify any fanatical Islamists as people we are in conflict with. Frankly they are in conflict with everyone, including other Muslims. But you have to watch who you are aligning yourself with or else you are joining those who want to eradicate everyone who is Muslim or black or any of the other groups they dislike.

  42. Paul McMahon –

“So the innocent get punished for the actions of others.”

What punishment? Children adapt easily. They go where their parents go. It’d be just like emigrating and they’ll be going back to where they belong.

  43. Mahons –

Eradicate – no. Kick out – yes.

Don’t be so melodramatic. In the long run it’s better all round. We’ve seen many times the bloody consequences of your thinking, Stand aside and let some patriots with backbone sort out the catastrophe your naivity has inflicted on our societies.

  44. popeye above is right

kateyo above is right. No one has the ” right ” to wage terrorist war, or to propagandize for terrorist war.

David above is right. This fight has never been taken seriously, not for a minute. It hasn’t started.

You want to get rid of the terrorist mosquito? Drain the swamp. Remove all support systems. Don’t add to the problem by importing more of it.

  45. Pete – Patriots with backbone? You have an Irish passport and would deny that you are British more times that Peter denied Christ.

I am not for unlimited immigration or asylum. Those who commit or plot to commit these crimes deserve punishment.

  46. What are the disturbances?

This major story is only being reported so much over here

  47. Phantom, the edl are marching with masks on, around 75 of them. theres a reported attempt to burn a mosque, but the muslim council of Britain has condemned the attack.

apparently the police are in Woolwich in large numbers, and there is a running stand off…

  48. Multiculturalism doesn’t work when imposed on a previously monocultural deep rooted and evolved society.
We are going to pay a price for ever believing it could. The huge uncontrolled increase in immigration engineered and endorsed by New Labour has resulted in the loss of safety and security in our own country, and of course in many/all Western nations.
Our government has to stop pussyfooting around the issue and re-introduce capital punishment or life in jail for terrorist;racially/religiously motivated murders (and yes, that goes for whites too).
Let’s call it what it is. It’s treason, it’s betrayal, whether perpetrated by individuals or groups of people. these are acts of war on peaceful citizens in their own country..
Let’s be clear, this country belongs to the native white population and those who have made their homes here. and are loyal to it.
Any other person (in the mould of Abu Quatada) has no business staying here and should be deported.

  49. mahons

How many immigrants or asylum seekers — numbers — would you allow in the UK or in Europe or in America?

I have asked this question multiple times over the years here and no one ever seems to know how to answer it, because they’ve never thought about it.

Unlimited immigration would mean that the UK or America would allow say 2 billion immigrants a year. Well there aren’t enough planes to bring that many in. So, how many would you allow in ?

  50. Mahons –

Of course I carry an Irish passport, and I will so long as muslims are allowed on the same planes as me.

    Phantom –

Nothing. The authorities are mainly concerned for “community cohesion” after we’ve been enriched again, so they’re jumpy. Probably a cat knocked over a bottle.

  51. What punishment? Children adapt easily. They go where their parents go. It’d be just like emigrating and they’ll be going back to where they belong

    Characteristically facetious Pete.

You want to get rid of the terrorist mosquito? Drain the swamp. Remove all support systems.

Could you elaborate on what exactly those metaphors entail Phantom?

for a start Paul they could close down these jihadi web sites
dirty scum bags, to knock a man down and hack him to death.
    dirty dirty scumbegs

    Absolutely for all three Katey.

  52. //they are at war with you.//

So what. A few killers hacking a man to death on the streets of London? – pathetic. As tragic as this incident is, there are more people killed in brawls in England any Saturday night. All the way from flying jet airliners into huge skyscrapers to mad attacks with meat cleavers on the street – maybe there’s another clear pattern there many of you don’t like to see.

As with Boston, this will get more publicity than it deserves or that is healthy for any free society. Publicity is the only thing these loons are looking for. One or two dead doesn’t count for them; the important thing is one or two million are afraid, and for that they are using the media and people’s apparently insatiable appetite for drama. Of course in a free society, the publicity machine can’t just be turned off, but everyone must realise that but focussing on these murderous but small incidents, but letting ourselves stop to look and wonder and worry, by calling a special meeting of the UK govt to give some response (otherwise there’ll be the inevitable accusation that it’s doing nothing) – all of these are what the killers want and why there will always be someone else prepared to make another such attack.

  53. Noel –

” .. and why there will always be someone else prepared to make another such attack.”

Yeah, millions of the savages now, thanks to your thinking.

    Enoch was right.

  54. Noel

If it wasn’t for some very good work by police, FBI, CIA, MI5, etc there would be many more incidents like this, and worse.

In NYC, I know of a good few foiled incidents that were not reported as major news items at all. Plots to blow up subway stations, etc — in addition to the ones that were reported. Some are not reported at all. Such is the nature of this war, which will go on for centuries to come.

These incidents are not coming from the Quakers or the Presbyterians I tell you that.

  55. “Eradicate – no. Kick out – yes.”

Same difference. Forced deportation of civilian populations is a war crime and was on the charge sheet at Nuremberg.

Your proposal is a literal crime against humanity. If it were actually attempted we’d soon see how primitive the natives can be, and the result would be much more carnage than we saw today.

  56. Pete

Truth be told, your anti police badgering is just as disgusting and wrong as the anything that the libs / open borders crowd ever said or did.

The cops and intel guys didn’t let these bastards in. They risk life and limb daily in stopping such incidents, and more.

If you hate the police and intel people, you will get a hearty hear hear from your country’s worst enemies. You are allies in who you choose to hate.

  57. Frank O’Dwyer –

“Forced deportation of civilian populations is a war crime and was on the charge sheet at Nuremberg.”

So what? The perpetrators of the greatest forced deportations of WW2 never faced a charge. Ethnic and cultural genocide are also high crimes, and that’s what’s happening to us in our country, in slow motion. If the colonisers have to leave to prevent it, that’s a price I’m willing to see them pay.

“Your proposal is a literal crime against humanity.”

Because I’m white and British. If I was a black African I’d have a million white communists supporting my fight for national liberation.

  58. The intel guys can’t stop this, its a sure bet these guys have never been to the countries they speak about – they had London accents. Theres nothing here to track for the intel guys to get their teeth in to. Two guys, radicalised by the internet decide to do this, how do you police that? You can’t. First thing must be done is to close down these sites…

  59. Phantom –

The police are not on my side, the side of British liberty or the side of British patriots.

  60. //In NYC, I know of a good few foiled incidents that were not reported as major news items at all. Plots to blow up subway stations, etc —//

True. The police and others are doing great work, and there’s also a level of international cooperation that runs much more smoothly than ever before.

However, according to what I’ve heard, most if not all foiled attempts – and all of the successful ones – have also been rather amateurish undertakings; schemes dreamed up and “planned” by disgruntled fanatics in some garage somewhere. There have been no serious attacks in the UK for the past 8 years. While obviously no society can tolerate even these isolated killings, they are still far from posing any significant threat. If anything, they show merely that the US strikes against the guys with the brains, and who do represent a real threat, seem to be working.

  61. Close down the sites, and close down / confiscate the property of any mosque that allows such people to speak.

    For starters.

This is no time for Marquis de Queensbury rules of order.

Those who think that it is have no idea in the world what you face.

  62. Phantom –

By the way, it’s noted that today, yet again, the police were completely useless.

It’s also noted that London is a gun-free zone for peasants, and that a peasant with a pistol might just have put a stop to it.

  63. Phantom – Its on the NY Times website, thought the Post and News are picking it up more due to the sensational value of the story. it is also on MSNBC and CNN.

We accepted almost 60k people in 2012 as refugee status (asylum and refugee protocols). We also have about 750 naturalized immigrants in 2012. The refugee status is necessary and the numbers don’t seem too great. We brought in hundreds of thousands just after World War Two and Vietnam. But there is no reason that the status of such people should be reviewed properly. There are ceiling limits and regional limits which seems to make sense.

The number of legal immigrants seems high to me.

  64. Pete

I don’t think that you know the police very well. If the London coppers are anything like the NYC / US police, they are tough minded, brave and as patriotic as you’re gonna get. I think that you confuse the cop in the field with some bad top management guys. This is a major error.

    Noel

This campaign will take centuries. The first batter in the first inning has yet to come up to bat.

  65. mahons

We have not had significant immigrants from the jihad world before.

This is an entirely new thing.

  66. Phantom –

You tell me about American cops, I’ll tell you about British rozzers.

The police here is the armed wing of the political establishment against the British people. The average rozzer is more than willing to enforce tyrannical diktats against the British people.

They are not on our side.

  67. It it’s as bad as that – and I don’t believe it for a second – you’re a dead country walking.

Your country won’t be saved by a vanguard of highly opinionated bloggers, I’ll tell you that.

If you turn against your ( taxpayer funded as they always were ) police, spooks and military, you’re on the wrong side of the barricades, friend.

  68. Phantom –

If the military protected our freedoms, they’d march on Westminster.

You have more than enough evidence just from ATW to see that the police is not on the side of the people any longer. The average coppper is an unthinking buffoon following orders, the average senior officer owes his career and vast pension to serving the central state.

  69. //The average coppper is an unthinking buffoon following orders, the average senior officer owes his career and vast pension to serving the central state.//…

…and the central state is managed by a central government, and that is elected by a parliament, and that in turn is elected by the British people.

It is them you have your issue with.

  70. I knew this incident would result in a sweep of hyperbolic hysterical commentary on here tonight. Talk of ‘primitive’ populations or expelling every Muslim/Black person should be dismissed as the idiotic crap that it is and which lowers itself to the same level as the hatefull jihadists.

A proper and civilised response would be to demand that we deal robustly and confidently with jihadist individuals and groups and terrorist supporters and for starters taking back the power to deport the likes of Abu Qatada and hundreds like him immediately and without question is the way to start addressing this. Government should not have to jump through hoops to try and deport foreign abusers of our country’s hospitality and should inform the judiciary here and in Europe that it is no longer permitting them to halt or delay these deportations.

  71. Pete

I don’t see you marching on Westminster.

    Other Brits here

On a day like this, especially, I’d like some comment from you on what Pete is saying about your police and your military.

  72. Well said, Colm.

Anyone who so breaks the law of his host country in any serious way should be deported promptly.

    BTW

    Guess who said today:

“Remove your government. They don’t care about you. You think David Cameron is going to get caught in the street”

  73. Sensible, level – headed comment Colm.

Colm, you’re a Landaner, whats Woolwhich like in terms of Demographics?

Ethnic make up, employment stats, house ownership etc.

  74. Paul, that’s what I asked over on Pete’s thread.

I don’t know, but I think it’s a relatively mixed district. It looks like they deliberately went around the barracks to look for a likely soldier to kill.

  75. Paul, that’s what I asked over on Pete’s thread

Apologies Noel. I didn’t see your question.

  76. Paul

Woolwich is definitely one of the poorer parts of London, undoubtedly a high immigrant population and a rundown area much of it is. It is close to Greenwich and Blackheath which are nice culturally and demographically richer areas , but yes it is true to say that Woolwich doesn’t have much going for it.

    Noel

Of course we know who said that statement, but we also know who here could easily have said the same thing – says Colm speaking diplomatically 😉

    Phantom

The trouble with Pete is that he does have good points to make about political and social problems and the faults that lie in areas of policing, but he wrecks his own arguments with ridiculously OTT language and claims that are false. The police have a duty to uphold the law and that of course includes loads of laws that Pete thinks should not be on the statute book , but that does not make them the ‘enemy of the people’

  77. Phantom –

I’m marching away from Westminster, shielding my life drom it as muc as possible.

    Noel –

Woolwich was a solid, shite working class area. Now it’s full of blacks and pakis. It’s a shithole. What do you expect? Millions of whites have fled London. It’s a Third World shithole.

  78. The right of center Brits here are absolutely full of it for never once taking Pete to task for repeated highly libelous comments about British police and military and intelligence people.

    You’re all talk.

  79. Definitely time for a loud political movement for “Ax and Machete Control,” because, as we all know with guns, the fewer axes available, the less likely people will use them for a random beheading.

    oh, wait…that’s not how it’s working out…but no matter…

Dear Lefties:exploit this horror somehow to institute some law over the already law abiding. and at all times, ignore the real cause as Mahons instructs in comments above.

  80. Pete wants to kick out all the filthy immigrants, but he wants someone else to do it. His bit was to come up with the idea!!

  81. It’s not rocket science.

First: moratorium on immigrants from Muslim countries.

Second: round up suspected terrorist and close down the websites and mosques feeding the problem

Third: public education campaign regarding Britain’s traditions of law and order and the penalties if British law and order is not upheld.

    overnight, the problems will disappear.

  82. He wants someone else to do it, but for free, since all tax is off the table.

    All talk.

  83. A 25 year waiting period for benefits for any immigrant should be on the table.

    How about that?

  84. Pete Moore, on May 22nd, 2013 at 11:55 PM Said:
Woolwich was a solid, shite working class area.

    Well said Pete.

  85. If the colonisers have to leave to prevent it, that’s a price I’m willing to see them pay.

You lot are the all time world leaders in colonising.

  86. Phantom – Immigrants from Muslim countries are still very low in terms of the total immigration here in the US. The overwhelming majority become fine citizens. I don’t mind stricter steps for them and more vetting. It is insane not to.

  87. Other than Peter King, who here in political life speaks about these matters?

    Damned few.

  88. If Peter King was consistent he would have called for a halt to immigrants from Ireland, yet he continues to be an apologist for IRA terrorism.

  89. My prayers for the life that has been taken, my support and condolences to his family. Did he have wife and children? Mother Father What. Let us grieve for them.

    As for all the rest…..

Our nations no longer have borders good bad indifferent it does not matter it the way it is at this point history.

There are millions on the planet that are motivated by their cause to kill anyone and everyone that is not of the same exact alignment of beliefs as them.

The question is the proper method to deter and punish those individuals that hold that belief.

I’ve read several ways on this thread, all have been tried all have failed. You can’t round up a whole group. We are not the Nazi’s. This is also to their advantage and the prey upon our civility as a weakness. Good or bad it is who we are in our common cultures. We abhor racial stigma, religious stigma, and even class stigma(but not as much on that one to be honest)

So how do you stop it? How do you discourage this behavior? How do you punish it once it happens.

You may eventually be able to negotiate with them, bring them to the table hell give them seats in Government. You lot have done that dance before, and even though the rabble has subsided to lesser amounts of attacks, yet attacks still take place from that sector of your society. hmmm imagine that….

There is only one way to stop, prevent and punish this behavior. You hunt down the perpetrators and kill them with extreme prejudice.

We have not in either of our societies reached the point of willingness to do so. The result being then that these events will continue until we do.

So the question now becomes how many incidents will it take? What amount of violence perpetrated against each of our societies in our own streets will bring us to the point of a reckoning?

God help us, because it won’t end until it has passed that point.

  90. It’s not that hard, Troll.

It’s not a mystery nor is it deep.

if it were Christians doing this type of thing, they would be flung in jail and the key would be thrown away.

Find the mosques preaching this sh** and close them. Find the websites praising jihad and plotting jihad and shut them down. Find the individuals making threats and stop them.

  91. but they’re not Christians, so that won’t happen.

I know the methods to stop them, and they are simple. I will not however feed the real trolls that live here by spelling out those simple methods.

Hope your well by the way. 🙂

  92. If they were Christians they would be thrown in jail…so these attackers won’t be thrown in jail?

  93. I’m great. Thanks, Troll. Yes, don’t feed the trolls here! They’re fat enough already.

I’ve been really busy with a variety of stuff these days – including some nice travel.

Also, I’m taking a couple of free online classes at Hillsdale college. Very, very good classes – far more satisfying than “debating” Progressives who don’t even know that they are Progressives, if you know what I mean.

You? Hope you and Monica and the girls are good.

  94. Patty

I love the Hillsdale courses, they should be required reading for not just the Americans on here.

Monica and the girls are good thanks

“The right of center Brits here are absolutely full of it for never once taking Pete to task for repeated highly libelous comments about British police and military and intelligence people.

    You’re all talk.”

“Right of centre Brits” – I wonder just who you were referring to?

Perhaps they – ‘those right of centre Brits’ – have better things to do than to argue about every nutty comment made by the more extreme among us. As you say, Pete makes many good points and spoils the effect by going all ‘looney tunes’ on occasion.

Surely we have been here long enough to know when a topic is worth a response and when it should be ignored, – it neither means we are ‘for’ or ‘against’, it could mean we have walked that path before, and really cannot be bothered to do so again, nailing jelly to a fence etc.. – it could also mean that we have lives to lead and just may be busy with more important things.

Why do you insist that sides be taken – you have mentioned it before, – all rather schoolyard don’cha think?

As for this particular thread, it seems that the responses have all been rather predictable, not to mention numerous.

  96. When a person or a force is libeled in the most extreme fashion over a period of years, silence can mean many things. It can be silent agreement. It can be an ignoring of extreme comment, often by people who don’t ignore anything else. It can be a taking of sides ( ” I agree with this guy on some things, so I’ll give him a pass on these ravings ” ) ; it can also be gross moral cowardice.

If the essential comment ” All British police and security people are evil “, made hundreds of times, is unworthy of comment by British people, then why did God give them brains, tongues or fingers? To type about the latest Man U football match?

The murderer yesterday invited British people to overthrow the government. With this statement, he says the exact thing that one of us said yesterday, on the same day, at nearly the same hour. Those who shoot their mouths off endlessly yet who can’t speak to things like that are unworthy of the inheritance of British free speech.

    Stand up.

  97. Phantom,

    Who made you the judge?

I stood up to be counted some sixty years ago, and I have some experience of the way it all works, – and it doesn’t matter a damn whether you ‘stand up’ and shout or ‘join up’ and shoot, the politicians of ‘the West’ are not what we believed them to be, – certainly post WWII, self-interest would be putting it mildy.

So the tolerance of the more extreme remarks on a blog is not quite the heinous crime you make it out to be, do you really expect a consensus on every topic? – or, as with Troll, are you just looking for an argument, – and a pointless agument, at that, to enable you to display your beliefs and loyalty to your country, but having zero effect on the wider picture.

Sure your beliefs and loyalties are all that anyone would expect of a citizen of the USA, – proud! – but so what? doesn’t pride come before a fall?

You too have been betrtayed, as we have here in the UK, you are still too naive to realise it, is all.

Believe me that day will come when you realise that things haven’t quite turned out in the way that you expected.

  98. One thing I agree with Patty on: people shouldn’t take what others write here too seriously. It could hardly be less significant.

  99. I stood up to be counted some sixty years ago

I make that 1953ish Ernest. Could you elaborate on that?

    (Genuine interest)

  100. Paul,

Suffice to say that I am familiar with the Far East, in particular with Korea, Malaya, and a few other places where the sun does shine.

National Service was compulsory at age eighteen, and there were a number of short term regular options.

Many have said that National Service was the finest finishing school ever devised, and I have yet to hear anything that might disprove that. Their motto could well have been ‘give me the boy, and I will give you the man!’.

  101. Watching the news today has provided plenty of food for thought.

Not least that troops stationed in the UK are not supposed to wear their uniform when off duty around town, – as it may ’cause offense’. Not that the lad attacked was wearing his, I believe he was in ‘civvies’.

However, to give some idea of changing attitudes, in post war UK it was a matter of pride to wear ‘the uniform’ when off-duty, not that many had much of a selection of civvies from which to choose, the uniform was considered ‘smart attire.’

When did that attitude change? – possibly post Viet Nam, but irrelevant, the ban must be one of the biggest insults to serving personnel.

When the voting age was 21 we used to say – ‘old enough to die, but not to vote’, now it might be somewhat different, it makes a uniform something akin to a set of overalls, to be worn only ‘at work’, – I await the addition of a hi-viz jacket, to be worn when on duty.

Whatever, these are very sad times indeed!

  102. Some here are saying the exact same things that the murderer said yesterday, and that those who sought to burn down England said in 2011.

Go ahead, turn on one another as much as you care to. Let me know how it works out.

It’s not a matter of ” pride ” to sadly observe all of this, the rot from within.

This is very much the same as the pheonomenon of the far left and far right finding a common cause in virulent anti semitism.

  103. People have despised most politicians since day one in all lands.

I am not talking about that.

You guys despise your men in uniform.

This is something very new under the sun.

  104. Phantom,

Now you are fantasizing, – just where has anyone ‘despised’ our men in uniform – as in our military?

We know our politicians see them as expendable, but certainly no one who comments here has said any such a thing re the military.

Of course if you are just being devious and are referring to the police, well that is a different matter – it is the circumstance of a murdered soldier we are discussing here.

  105. Your society would survive without police and intelligence services for the same amount of time as you’d survive without an Army and Navy.

All funded by taxes, or they won’t exist.

Anyone pushing for the abolition of tax is at the same time pushing for the abolition of the Armed Services. As wrong a position as anyone has ever taken.

BTW, there are those here who see servicemen as being very expendable. They want US forces engaged in all kinds of military hijinks on behalf of other nations. You’ll never hear me speak like this.

  106. Phantom,

Well then address your comments to him that doesn’t appreciate the good things that some taxes bring. If it is Pete you disagree with, then have the balls to name him.

“You’ll never hear me speak like this.”

I never said that I had heard you speak that way, and you have never head me speak that way either! So, if you want an intelligent debate, stop with the straw men remarks, and the generalising of ATW commenters as all being tarred with the same brush.

Good grief! – and you wonder why folk ignore the nonsense threads that you seem to delight in.

  107. Phantom,

“I have named and shamed him a billion times, son.”

Apparently with little effect. You must enjoy banging your thick head agaisnt a brick wall.

“Son!” – I’m old enough to be your grandfather!

You really are one patronising oaf!

  108. Is a paid government shill talking about me?

“You guys despise your men in uniform. This is something very new under the sun.”

In reality, the police has always been distrusted, and when the first force was proposed the British public was vehemently opposed. There was a widespread fear that it would be a government occupation force. You won’t read this real history in the approved history books, but it was so. Well that’s exactly what we have now, occupiers enforcing anti-British and anti-liberty diktats against us.

“Your society would survive without police and intelligence services”

Obvious drivel, since we survived for lng enough with either, as we survived for long enough without income taxes.

Until well into the modern period, the idea of taxing income was a radical, way-out loony thing. Just because it seems normal today doesn’t mean that our more wise forebears agreed. Oh, and the progressive tax is, of course, lifted straight from the Communist Manifesto. As I said – way out and loony.

Outside of the Lincoln Terror, income taxes did not exist in the US prior to 1913. Is anyone willing to tell me that roads and bridges, therefore, did not exist in the US until after 1913?

  109. I know a lot of self declared British people, and exactly none of them talk about the police the way you do.

Your monarchs and other rulers have always had an intelligence operation, too.

Good luck defeating Islam with no police and no intelligence services. I want to hear how that gets done.

  110. You mean we need the police to fight islam, just like yesterday?

    No thanks.

  111. By the way, if I plastered comments all over the web about “defeating islam”, as you’ve just done, the rozzers would have me in for questioning at least.

Right now the rozzers are crawling the web, harvesting comments from white Britons.

They are not on our side.

  112. Thanks for the answer Ernest.

Obligatory military service was abolished over here only in 1998. It was absolutely hated and was particularly despised in the Basque Country during the Franco years when Basques were forced to serve two years in the service of those who brutally repressed their parents.
