  1. I suppose they are all going to the Build-a-Bear Store or something like that.

  2. Oh, well done, mairin2. Good spotting.

Peter Sutherland is a Dubliner like meself (but alack there the similarities end)

  3. I had hoped someone would get the similarity and laugh.

We could also say they are 12 people who have never been in my kitchen (thank you Cliff Claven).

  4. In the UK, the Bilderbergers are known as the ‘ruling elite’ who make the rules for the rest of us, in America they think it’s a type of fast food 😉

  5. Is there a meeting later this week?

So there is. That dodgy conspiracist website The Guardian says so. What’s that in The Guardian?

“It may seem odd, as our own lobbying scandal unfolds, amid calls for a statutory register of lobbyists, that a bunch of our senior politicians will be holed up for three days in luxurious privacy with the chairmen and CEOs of hedge funds, tech corporations and vast multinational holding companies, with zero press oversight.”

Doesn’t it just! Well, it does to the conspiracy-minded. If you’re not a nut then it’s all perfectly normal, nothing to worry about here …

I might have a look, mairin2. A good punch up is fun to see. These Bilderberger meetings – which don’t happen because it does not exist – usually (don’t) happen up an Alp. This one’s on the edge of London, smack bang in the middle of the most densely populated part of the country. There’s potential for epic aggro.

  6. Oh yeah, the full attendee list for people who won’t be attending the meeting that doesn’t happen is here.

  7. They are all white men

Apart from Mincer Mandelson, who is hideously white, but definitely not a man

  8. “The group will discuss how the US and Europe can promote growth”

I wonder what proposals Petreaus can make on that theme.

  9. Not only that, these men are behind the massacre of the Stark family at the Red Wedding on the Game of Thrones last night!

You will never get to find out?

  11. That would be the meeting of which the deliberations are not reported by the ‘mainstream’. Here is what David Rockefeller didn’t say (according to Phantom), and perhaps he didn’t except that what he didn’t say is how things have been:

We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries.

Now Phantom has stated that Rockefeller never said that, but he definitely wrote this:

For more than a century ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents such as my encounter with Castro to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure — one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.”

    – David Rockefeller, “Memoirs” autobiography (2002, Random House publishers), page 405

A reviewer writes – Mr. Rockefeller on p. 405 claims that the ‘conspiracy theorists’ fail to see the “benefit of our international role over the past half century.” And what benefits are these? Professor Carol Quigley gives the answer in his book:

“The powers of financial capitalism had a far-reaching plan, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole.”

Now how’d those silly kook populists miss to see the benefit in having a worldwide system of financial control vested in a few plutocrats? –

  12. Perhaps Phantom could put himself forward to be the first ATW person to have a chip implanted by the New ‘World Guvmint’

  13. Of course Phantom isn’t the only person who notes that the Rockefeller “quote” is a fabrication. Even Allan tries to skate by it, and offers instead a quote which was obviously written in defense of an internationalists view as opposed to a Lex Luther type of view.

  14. Phantom

I don’t know if you were aware that isn’t Mr Mandelson’s first name. It was just Harri’s joke because Peter Mandelson is gay.

  15. I’ve heard them speak, and am of the opinion that Bezos and Schmidt are exceptionally intelligent. They’re on another level than most.

  16. Mahons – your alert legal mind will have noted that the first ‘fake’ quote by Rockefeller describes what is and has been to-date, whilst the second and fully verified quote is more damning than the first. Rockefeller admits to undermining the national status of the US. What is seen on this thread is that many others are in agreement with exactly that.

Contrary to what the lesser minds here would quip, that line-up isn’t merely a conspiracy theorists dream: that is the conspiracy, right there in plain sight. The CEOs of the controlled corporations and their counterparts in controlled politics will get their instructions from their financial overlords. The money power controls the corporations and the corporations own lobby the political class to pass the necessary laws. Here is the network with pages 4 and 33 of 36 being of immediate interest:

  17. Whatever about conspiracy theories, this meeting does deserve highlighting.

What on earth have people like Henry Kissinger and ex-Gen Petreaus got to say about economic recovery?
And at a time when political England is rocked by bribery scandals, where politicians sold their parliamentary priviledges to business representatives, and where transparency is one of the government’s favourite slogans, it is completely tasteless to say the least for govt ministers to attend this secret business beanfeast.

The whole Bilderberger thing is also a registered charity, BTW. All tax deductible of course.

  18. Yo dude, Allan

Time to drag out that phony quote by the Bank of England megavillain Ashley Montagu or whatever. He was such a bone chilling villain in that one. Always good for a laff

  19. Kissinger might know more than you think about trade and the economy. He was a main architect of the opening to China, etc. He had a hand on creating the economy of today, good and bad.

    Petreaus? He doesn’t belong.

  20. Phantom – you always resort to diversion when you cannot argue the point, and the point is that Bilderberg is the conspiracy in-your-face. Have a look at the list of attendees. These are not people who gather together to discuss the weather. There’s Peter Sutherland, as an example.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-18519395

The EU should “do its best to undermine” the “homogeneity” of its member states, the UN’s special representative for migration has said.

Peter Sutherland told peers the future prosperity of many EU states depended on them becoming multicultural.

Fantastic! This internationalist nutter wants to do away with my country, and he’s in Bilderberg planning exactly that.

  21. “Man proposes; God disposes”, someone once said. I think there’s something in that saying.

  22. Senator Frank Lautenberg who was illegally inserted in as NJ Senator when Torricelli was gonna go to jail Died of Pneumonia last night

  23. What’s the betting Allan, that Peter Sutherland is not his original name.
