As you know, I believe that the Environment Agency, a quango set up in 1996 and run by Labour politicians ever since, is the single greatest threat to the environment. Consider this;

The Environment Agency has rubber-stamped the building of almost 200,000 homes on flood plains since it was formed, figures reveal. The under-fire quango agreed to their construction despite concerns they may become uninsurable or that owners could face sky-high premiums. Official statistics show that since the agency was created in 1996, up to 14,500 homes have been built every year on low-lying areas near rivers.

So, it has rubber stamped the building of new houses in areas which are prone to flooding. Simultaneously, it has adopted a policy of removing flooding defences, as we saw in Somerset! And STILL they try to blame it on “global warming”???
