Sec of Defense Chuck Hagel is now saying the JV Team ISIS or ISIL or whatever alphabet soup the Jihadis are calling themselves this week are a bigger threat than we have yet to face in the war on terror. They say this as they strip our Military to the bones, and pull our troops out of position.

“They are beyond just a terrorist group. They marry ideology, a sophistication of … military prowess. They are tremendously well-funded. This is beyond anything we’ve seen.”

The current Administration has no clue on what they are doing, and have made us more vulnerable for attack here in the U.S. than we have been since before 9/11. They have been using the tools designed to monitor the terrorists amongst us to monitor political enemies, while at the same time leaving our southern flank wide open. The Hispanics are an economic problem however they are not the only people coming across our unsecure border.

So as the Golfer puts away saying everything is just peachy Hagel is speaking as though an attack is imminent. The hysterics and finger pointing that will take place when an attack occurs will be worse internally than the aftermath of 9/11.

The Hagel story is Here.

Look, Obama is damned if he intervenes and he’s damned if he doesn’t. Get with the programme.

  2. Peter –

GOP drones claiming that Obama is cutting the military to the bone is exactly the same argument used by the Labour Party on government spending here.

The spending is going up, just not as supersonically quick as they’d like. Even with a $46 billion ‘cut’ last year, Obama’s administration still spent more on the military than any president since FDR, and more than any GOP president. And still it’s spending almost as much as every other government combined.

The drones picked so many loopy reasons to hammer Obama, even when they have good reason to criticise him now it’s a turn off.

  3. They are tremendously well-funded

So why don’t the drones follow the money – where do these ‘terror’ groups get their funds?

Oh – and is there a glossy magazine for ISIS yet?

  4. gee Daphne very insightful, thanks for sharing.

Pete the only legitimate spending the US Government is supposed to do is on the military and the mail the rest is bullshit that they have picked our pockets for and have no legitimate grounds to stand on to do so.

That however is irrelevant, the Obama regime has systematically reduced the American military to pre-wwi levels. They do this as the threat increases not decreases.

I do have a question for you though. Why do you insist on calling me a GOP Drone? Is it that you can’t make a cogent argument without name calling, or a lack of ability to say that you think my views are wrong in an intelligent manner? I believe it to be the later.

It’s kinda hard to take your criticism seriously when you can’t refute me without not just name calling, but inaccurate name calling at that. You want to insist on labeling me as a member of the GOP even though you know I am not.

You want people to believe you are capable of grasping all these conspiracies that you “inform” us on yet you are unable to grasp that someone who is not a Republican can’t be a GOP drone.

If you want to argue that I am wrong, do so. It might be a little less laughable if you were able to do so without name calling and without demonstrating how you can’t even grasp facts about the people you are saying are wrong.

  5. Harri you have to love a source that says ISIS is being funded by 3 of the US biggest allies after listing 4 nations 🙂

  6. I’d be surprised if Turkey are funding ISIS, who wants that bunch of nutters on their southern border?, it’s probably just the Iranians conflating all anti-Assad forces as ISIS.

  7. Troll –

the Obama regime has systematically reduced the American military to pre-wwi levels

    Are you joking?

Troll, try to not be a dummkopf all the time, at least try.

4 listed, and three of them are allies of the US

Got it now you complete nutcase.

Ah, I get it now, Troll, your meds have kicked in again .. my sincere apologies.

I sometimes forget at just how srong your medication must be.

  10. The US Army had many horses during WW 1

    They have few horses now

Therefore the US military is weaker than it was during WW 1

  11. The US has by far the most robust military / force projection capability in the world.

It is not a debatable point.

Comparing the military of today to the day when horses were common and tanks a novelty is silly.

  12. Our strength is not in doubt, it is also not what was being talked about. What was being talked about was CUTS and the size of our forces and equipment.

Even at our reduced levels the power we can project even against much greater forces can’t be matched. We have however over the past 6 years stripped our forces and equipment.

    Are you denying that?

  13. The fact that you want to bring horses into your comment as if to prove something, only proves that you are not serious in your position. You would rather stray into nonsense than deal with the issue.

  14. why not just do as your fan from Texas advises?

Since you’re incapable of actually holding your own legitimately, stay out out of the conversation. You’re obviously either not willing or incapable of holding up your point of view. I believe it to be the former.

You could act like an adult, but you choose not to, it is the choice you’ve made.

  15. You mentioned WW1, no one else.

We don’t have unlimited money, esp after Iraq and Afghanistan adventures, so some military toys may not have been funded.

No budget is unlimited, not even that of the military industrial complex.

    No apology for that.

The US taxpayer spends plenty on the military. Let the European and Asian allies spend some more for their own defense, and Israel too.

  16. Troll

If the US as you yourself admit is still streets ahead of any other powers on earth in terms of military abilities today then what on earth is the problem with any cutbacks on military spending especially during the recent years of global financial austerity. Do you think there should be a bottomless pit of wasted taxpayers funds on making the biggest military in the world endlessly bigger and bigger regardless of affordability ?

  17. Troll –

the Obama regime has systematically reduced the American military to pre-wwi levels

Explain this statement or keep quiet.

ATW has changed. It’s gone to a ‘pre-Troll level’ if you like. Wanton bullshit coupled with raised levels of abuse is no longer acceptable.
