“They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time … They were not rigging the election; they were fortifying it.”

The election is done, it’s safe to ‘fess up. Oh, and it’s not rigging an election if you get away with it.

Time has published a truly brazen and bizarre confessional.

  1. From the same article:

“The handshake between business and labor was just one component of a vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election–an extraordinary shadow effort dedicated not to winning the vote but to ensuring it would be free and fair, credible and uncorrupted. For more than a year, a loosely organized coalition of operatives scrambled to shore up America’s institutions as they came under simultaneous attack from a remorseless pandemic and an autocratically inclined President. Though much of this activity took place on the left, it was separate from the Biden campaign and crossed ideological lines, with crucial contributions by nonpartisan and conservative actors. The scenario the shadow campaigners were desperate to stop was not a Trump victory. It was an election so calamitous that no result could be discerned at all, a failure of the central act of democratic self-governance that has been a hallmark of America since its founding.”

What was done that was wrong?

Should there have been any changes in procedure when there was an election taking place amidst a raging pandemnic?

  3. Pete Moore still flogging the old ‘it was stolen’ dead horse , even after Patrick has let it die 😉

  4. Lou Dobbs let go by Fox Business Channel today. His show was cancelled.

He was a huge proponent of the ” big lie ” disinformation about Smartmatic voting machines

Smartmatic has sued Fox, Dobbs, as well as other Trumpers on Fox, Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro.

The civil lawsuit by Smartmatic has a 100% chance of resulting in a major cash settlement.

  5. The ekection was stolen, that is what the evidence points to. Biden took the oath though so Biden is the President, plain and simple.

Not one Election will ever be considered VALID again… period.

As long as there are electronic machines used for voting or counting the paper ballots the Election in the view of 30% of Americans the Election is a Fraud.

Now you can scoff and moan all you want, but perception is the only thing that matters and when you have millions of people who don’t trust the vote and they are the type of people that are passionate about voting….. sooner or later there is going to be unpleasant results.

Confidence must be returned to the process….

The very first Bill of Biden’s Congress HR1 creates a national mail in voting system with no ID requirements, it makes it a FELONY to ask for proof of ID and or Citizenship.

This is pouring gas on a smoldering fire.

  6. I was wrong about Patrick letting the sleeping ( dead really) dog lie.

  7. He believes every lie that was told to him about “ the machines “ and vote counting software , which are the most accurate parts of the vote counting system.

Humans make errors, others so bad things, but there is no evidence that the tireless code of Smartmatic did either.

Patrick seems not to realize that a malicious vote stealing machine or code would leave evidence of its wrong practices, evidence that was never seen, because it doesn’t exist.

I generally hate lawsuits but here I hope that Smartmatic wins a historically large verdict against Fox, Dobbs, Giuliani, Pirro, Bartiromo, the rest of them, who intentionally poisoned the waters, who maligned an ethical company, who misled the most naive and clueless parts of the society.

  8. To claim the election was stolen is to state that Trump was the legitimate winner . There is not a shred of evidence that Trump genuinely won more EC votes than Biden. But in the world where you just claim whatever you want, evidence is irrelevent. Completely different attitude to the “Where’s the proof of Russian Collusion” we hear from Patrick.

  9. Yes

And maybe our gullible friend thinks that the many Republican winners of House, Senate and state and local positions across the nation were beneficiaries of stolen vote conspiracies as well

  10. Democrats “had the dead people vote and had the folks bused in those Democrat areas and they stole the election, when my research shows Roy Moore probably would have won by six, seven points,” Jones said. “It really is biblical what we’re witnessing and the dirty tricks of the Clintons and the dirty tricks of their systems in this country reaching down through into daily life. They come after you when you fight. They run intelligence operations. They destroy families. They pay people off.”

Alex Jones said this in late 2017 in the aftermath of the Alabama US senate vote

It’s all lies, but many believed it, many believe it still

You can’t begin to understand the Trump movement without understanding the deep influence that Alex Jones has had on it, and the continuing influence that he has on it

  11. //To claim the election was stolen is to state that Trump was the legitimate winner .//

Of course. But the “OK, Biden was duly inaugurated so I’ll live with that” line is just an attempt to crawl out of a bunker without looking too silly. For most of them, the stop- the-steal garbage was just a ploy.

Interesting story about Fox and Dobbs. It’s great to see it, but I’d be wary of litigation against news media for getting something wrong.

  12. I’d be wary too, but this isn’t just getting something wrong. Ever opinionated person gets it wrong at times

It’s Dobbs and the others loudly repeating a lie, without doing any fact checking at all, an inflammatory lie that endangered the safety of the employees of a respected company , and which likely will mean lower sales a least in the short term

  13. Specifically, the company charged: “Fox News has engaged in a concerted disinformation campaign against Smartmatic. Fox News told its millions of viewers and readers that Smartmatic was founded by [the late Venezuelan President] Hugo Chávez, that its software was designed to fix elections, and that Smartmatic conspired with others to defraud the American people and fix the 2020 U.S. election by changing, inflating, and deleting votes.”

    Clip from WP

Those are highly specific charges that were made by the likes of Giuliani and Dobbs, wild assertions that no honest or thinking person would ever make

This is the type of thing that led the confused jerks, plotters, and traitors to Washington DC one day in January.

You could justify an insurrection if this type of thing was happening. Only it wasn’t happening at all.

  14. To claim that the election was “stolen” is a very high bar and virtually impossible to prove. That there was cheating is undeniable. There’s cheating in every election, particularly presidential elections.

Yes, there was cheating of many types in this election. The Time piece openly admits to big tech collusion, threats of violence and manipulation.

  15. “A well-funded cabal of powerful people.. working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information. They were not rigging the election; they were fortifying it”

    It was rigged.

  16. The Time piece openly admits to big tech collusion, threats of violence and manipulation

It speaks of effort to have tech employ preexisting policies against spreading lies ( like those about voting machines )

And I don’t see in it talk of Dem “ threats of violence and manipulation “

Can you please point to them if you would.

  17. What changes should have been made to voting procedure in the middle of an out of control deadly pandemic?

Leave out Pat’s fake constitution jive, no one is buying any of that

what practical changes would you have implemented?

  18. HA HA HA!

Democrat lawyers w/ Perkins Coie fighting against seating the winning Republican in NY’s CD 22 are arguing in briefs the voting machines “changed thousands of votes.”

No big surprise this is not getting a lot of attention.

  19. You are surprised that others lie too?

    Ha ha indeed

  20. Oh boy, you can see why Dem-aligned media is giving this one a wide berth.

A Democrat candidate for the House of Representatives in New York has alleged that voting machines switching votes is the reason he is trailing in the as yet uncalled election, Washington Examiner reports.

Former Democratic Congressman Anthony Brindisi is currently trailing Republican Claudia Tenney in the race to win New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Trailing by a mere 122 votes, however, Brindisi’s legal team is claiming that the voting machines arbitrarily switched votes to favour the Republican candidate in the district.

“In this case, there is reason to believe that voting tabulation machines misread hundreds if not thousands of valid votes as undervotes, and that these tabulation machine errors disproportionately affected Brindisi,” his lawyer claimed.

  21. Ok he’s made the allegation, now just like Trump and the Trump followers, he has to PROVE his claims.

  22. Pete’n’Pat

Do you believe that Dominion or other machines used in the recent US election switched votes or that they were otherwise inaccurate?

If you do believe that, why?

  23. The machines’ accuracy was confirmed in Georgia where the recount was done by hand. Despite that, Trump tried to get the local officials to “find” an extra 12,000 votes to give him the state. That should be a criminal charge right there, either state or federal or both.

  24. And the idiots said that the vote switch feature was explained in the product handbook

They couldn’t be bothered to invent a good story

  25. Peter –

Dominion machines might have switched votes or have been otherwise inaccurate but I have no reason or have seen no evidence to believe so. But I would still outlaw them and all similar voting technologies.

Politics is the dirtiest and most corrupt of businesses. Only winning and power counts. Particularly so in American presidential elections where literally trillions of dollars are at stake.

Therefore only maximum transparency is acceptable. If you can drag your belly across the floor then you don’t get to vote by mail, a proven and widespread source of electoral fraud. Paper, pencil an X and monitors looking over the shoulders of the vote counters. Politicans who advocate different ways should be treated with severe suspicion.

  26. Pete

I’ve no problem with restricting postal voting to exceptional cases like it used to be. There should also be compulsory ID at the voting stations. The pandemic was a valid reason for a one-off extension to postal votes but it should not have to be repeated.

And voter suppression needs to be tackled at a federal level. The SCOTUS gutted the Voting Rights Act with a decision in 2012 that gave free reign to all sorts of GOP malpractice. It’s a worsening scandal that you won’t hear Patrick mention. Not ever. Not even once. Not a peep. Nada.
