INDIA IS STRANGE

By Pete Moore On February 27th, 2021

It’s amazing how strange things persist in the backwoods.

A rooster that had been fitted with a knife for an illegal cockfight has killed its owner in southern India.

The bird’s owner was impaled in the groin by the knife as the animal tried to escape. The man died on the way to hospital from a loss of blood […]

Police said the animal was being readied to take part in a fight when it tried to escape. Its owner attempted to catch it but was struck by the 7cm-long (three inch) knife on the animal’s leg during the struggle.

It took decades for India to shake off its insane socialist economic planning which mired all of it in poverty. Having done so much of the country is heading into the future. Although India seems incapable of producing a test-standard wicket it has nuclear weapons, a space programme, modern industries and an expanding middle class.

But the other India is stuck in the 15-Century, where they do things which we though only existed in history books. The good news is the cock’s fine.
