The final of the Champions League, Europe’s premier club competition, is due to be held in Istanbul. Two English clubs, Manchester City and Chelsea, will contest the final. No-one wants to leave England, where the virus is well suppressed, to travel to Turkey, which currently has the highest rates of infection in Europe and which is under a hard lockdown.

A neutral venue can be chosen in England, no problem. Some fans can be allowed in. Sports events have begun to allow fans in here. Solutions are easy and at hand. What says you, UEFA (European football’s governing body)?

Manchester City and Chelsea have had it made clear by UEFA that the venue of the Champions League final will not be changed.

Well done to UEFA’s pinheads. Bravo.

  1. It’s just the flu, the new Democrat hoax, so there’s nothing to worry about.

  2. Bad result for Arsenal tonight Pete.

But at least their fans don’t need to worry about travelling to Poland for the final.
